Enderby House in Greenwich

Booked a room for our daughter’s christening reception and had a lovely time. We had a dedicated member of staff, and our lunch orders were brought within half an hour, despite there being about 25 of us.

This used to be our fave Sunday roast but has seriously gone downhill. Still have to order drinks and food at the bar (order at table app doesn’t work as no table number). Enticing menu on website is not same as on the day. Very basic chicken roast and beef stew with one very sad dumpling. Plates left on the table until we were leaving. no check backs at all. Bar staff were super friendly was the only good experience. Sorry if you are experiencing staff issues but there was zero floor control leading to v haphazard service. Hope you sort it out as you have a captive market here

Went for Sunday lunch and the Food was great not sure if they were training as the service was very slow. Staff were very friendly though.

Nice venue for a family gathering but some of the meals we ordered were very small, not very nice and with that in mind very over priced.

Having been to Enderby before and thoroughly enjoyed it I was expecting the same, unfortunately this was not to be the case. The service was extremely slow, we waited a good hour before our food was served and the desserts were warm/cold but we just ate them as we didn’t want to wait around for them to be re-served. Overall disappointing, I did overhear that they had four staff off that day, knowing that they should have informed diners that this was the case and given them the option to stay knowing there was a long wait or going elsewhere. Sadly therefore I won’t be returning.

Great pub, great atmosphere, nice staff, great food (Sunday roast) all the while on the bank of the Thames overlooking Canary Wharf.

I booked The Octagon Room for a family party of ten, to celebrate my 70th birthday on Christmas Eve and we were delighted with the service we received and we had all chosen from the 3 course festive menu, I thought my starter of scallops was delicious, the turkey and trimmings was as expected and the crumble dessert was good. Everyone else seemed happy with their choices. The room was ready and decorated suitably for Christmas and we were able to add our own decorations and bring our own birthday cake, for which they provided plates and a knife. The member of staff in charge of our booking introduced himself and checked on us during the meal, the other staff helping to serve were good.

My work team went for a Christmas lunch to Enderby House. When I made the booking I told EH that one of our party needed to eat gluten free but the menu was effectively limited to a choice of two meals. They weren't prepared to answer questions on what dishes contained and had to check with the kitchen. In the end I had a burger minus a bun (my choice) and it was OK. My friends had a steak, burgers, rabbit cassoulet and fish in batter. The rabbit was very tasty, the fish was huge and nice and the burgers and steak were OK. The serving staff were friendly and attentive. I would eat there again in the future but not as a first choice.

Firstly the venue is wonderful. I recommend anyone visiting should take a walk round the upper & lower floors where the historical rooms are situated. Meanwhile the newer areas of Enderby House very much complement the old. In regards to the food & service: For the price the food is ok but nothing to rave about. As for the service, it was a very young group behind the bar and waiting the tables. They were a nice bunch and tried their best but it was evident they lacked proper training. Some of the service was comical (I've never had wine served so ineptly!) but I put it all down to lack of staff training by the management. The venue really is superb. Not easy to get to via public transport, but if the management can up the service and raise the food quality then it may well be worth trekking over to Enderby House.

A ruined Christmas celebration we booked the Enderby house on recommendation from my friend who had eaten here previously and said how good it was. This was not the case we booked in August 2023 for 12 people and pre-ordered our food when we got there, we were hassled about having our starters brought out, but when they arrived, only three of them came out and we waited half an hour to 40 minutes for the rest of them. We were told there had been a mess up without order and even though we gave our menu choices in November, I had to let one of the staff take a screenshot of my food for our actual order. When the mains come out the food was cold the vegetables were rock hard and the meat was tough. ithere was absolutely nothing nice about this food, including the dessert; I ordered apple crumble and cream, and it was more like apple, dust and a cup of warmed up skimmed milk,, we then had a huge wrangle over the bill as they only wanted to take 20% off and really they shouldn’t have charged us for any of the food The staff were trying their best to be accommodating, but the reason we were told that our food was bad and cold was the fact that they had a full bar and a busy event downstairs, but when I went to investigate the bar was empty and there wasn’t a function downstairs. The staff were all trainees and the assistant manager informed us that she was leaving soon so it makes me wonder about their working conditions in that place. I was so disappointed as I’ve been looking forward to this for such a long time at £44 for a set menu which cost us £29 in the end. Even then that was too much money. If you’ve booked for Christmas event or for food in general. I would advise you to cancel this. I am so disgusted with the Service and the food I’ve even written to Young’s to complain.

Lovely Christmas meal with our family on Saturday 16th. Anatoli and Arum were fantastic and were brilliant at taking our orders and providing great service. Food was delicious, view was marvellous.

We came for a Sunday roast and hired a private area in The Collectors Room which was amazing. Anatolii was a great server and was helpful if we had any issues and attentive. All in all a lovely day!
