The clerk asked me to leave a mandatory 10% tip. That’s so stupid.

Emoji offers a mix of Korean and Chinese cuisine. The taste of the food is fair, providing a decent dining experience without standing out. However, the bubble tea is a letdown, as the tapioca pearls are hard and not enjoyable. Overall, it's an average spot for a meal, but improvements in their bubble tea would be appreciated.

The service is pretty good, but the food (meat) quality is average.

A lot choices of food, decent and well-seasoned. Charcoal grill was great in cooking temperature and long-lasting. The price of all you can eat was value for money.

If you're looking for something a bit different to try this place is great.

Price involved unlimited eats within plus desert however bubble tea is excluded. I love the bbq however there was a few time I burnt stuff I think assistant for first timers would be good. Overall it would be a great place to go for a good price.

It's near the University of Manchester, the location is very convenient, and the taste is delicious! Meat is very fresh

No smoke in the restaurant, they have very goo extraction system. Very friendly, kind and helpful staff. The bbq skewer rotating mechanism is ingenious but may not work with large pieces. Clean restaurant, and presentation of fresh food is very good and easy to understand. Bubble tea is good. Ice cream is quite good, you should try in the end.

The store layout is very unique, the price/performance ratio is very high, there are not many people queuing up, the marshmallows are super delicious, and the dishes are very fresh😆

The barbecue buffet is fresh! The atmosphere is good to eat with friends and the milk tea is also good to drink! Recommend you to come. And more! Also sent a small hot pot! The dip is recommended! The dip is really delicious!

I have had self-service barbecue with friends, which has a wide variety and delicious sauces. The boss also gave me a small hot pot, which tasted very good!

I had an average dining experience at this restaurant in terms of food quality; it was normal, nothing exceptional. However, the service left much to be desired. The waitress seemed very impatient and, unfortunately, I observed her raising her voice at customers. This aspect of service really detracted from the overall experience.

Had a dinner with friends here for the skewer BBQ. - The quality of the foods are very average, very basic. You got 2 options for the BBQ, regular and premium (seafood). We choose the regular BBQ. - The refill drinks machine looks very cheap, and it doesn't look like good quality, I wouldn't recommend to order refill drink. You have 5 options: coke, diet coke, orange soda, lemonade and one more option I forgot, all of them are unknown brand. - The ice container next to the refill drink machine doesn't look clean. Most of the ice melt already, and it literally just ice water over there. I'd recommend the owner provide the better way to serve the ice cube for refill drinks. - The restaurant was very smoky. The air circulation system in the restaurant definitely need to be upgraded. - There's hidden fee, service charge, which doesn't mention on the paper menu or anywhere in the restaurant. Consider we get the skewers and cook by ourselves, the service charge is unreasonable. - Staff was super friendly and nice. Overall the restaurant is more for the experience of the new way to do the BBQ. For the quality of the food, I won't go back unfortunately.

Greasy bland overpriced noodles with cubes of mechanically reformed meat. The "vegetarian" noodles were literally just noodles in oil with no sauce, no vegetables, no egg, no peanuts, and they charged £11 for it! And then on top of that a mandatory service charge is demanded because the menu we were shown at the table was apparently take-out prices, which we thought were high even before we found out. The tea was good.

They have two menus a very expensive one and a more reasonable priced one, be careful they don’t only give you the option for the most expensive one. I came out of there paying nearly 30 pounds for a takeaway.

Had a nice experience with my friends. Grilled part on my table was excellent and the staff was cooperative to explain it patiently. Loved it.

A very bad experience. My friend and I both had diarrhea the next day after eating. It is very easy to burn or get raw, making it difficult to eat. If you bake the whole process yourself, you will be charged a 10% service fee. Very poor experience, had diarrhoea the next day with a friend after eating it. Very easy to grill or pinch and very unpalatable. Charged 10% service charge for the whole thing that was grilled by myself.

Charcoal grill with seafood (shrimp, oysters and squid). The environment is hygienic and clean, the waiters are polite and friendly, and willing to help children👍🏻

All you can eat including seafood cost £29.99 each person (an extra £4 for soft drinks). Hobs are fueled by coal. Meat include pork, lamb, beef and poultry. Seafood include shrimps and oysters.

The business hours start at 16:30, but Google Maps did not update the business hours. It took us half an hour to arrive at 12 o'clock and waited around for a long time, but nothing happened!

Most of the meat had an unpleasant odor, and I observed a waitress secretly returning uneaten, uncooked food from another customer's table to the counter for other customers to select and cook. Furthermore, the waitress's demeanor was exceptionally rude.

Came to try the restaurant after recommendation on social media , was having a good time until the restaurant charged us extra for trying a different refill drink flavour which was not made clear to us at all at the beginning. Very disappointed that they did this to us at the end of the meal and ruined the whole experience. Will definitely not come back to this restaurant again. A note to the restaurant owner, if you keep being sneaky with hidden charges, your business will not sustain and will eventually fail as you lose more customers.

The service is poor and there is a service charge. The cashier should round bill himself and charge more money with confidence. The food is not clean and friends come to eat and have diarrhea. Don't come.

I made a reservation in advance, but I was not told that the buffet was only available for a limited time. The charcoal fire was put on very slowly, and we were rushed to eat and walked out very quickly. The attitude was extremely bad and there were not many dishes. When we were checking out, the waiter quickly served us the dishes we asked before if there were any. 👎👎 It seemed that they were unwilling to refill the drinks. 😢35 pounds per person. Is the buffet like this? ? Boss, your business won't last long. I really don’t understand why so many people recommend Xiaohongshu. Severe negative review! ! ! ! ! !

Barbecue buffet was amazing and delicious 😋 I would recommend anyone 👌 😋 I am definitely going again. Friendly and polite staff members. It was my my son's 12th birthday 🎂 and they brought the cake and put the 🎶 as well. Guys it's a must to go and try 😘

Visited the Emoji Restaurant a couple of weeks ago and thought it a great place to visit with friends, family or even by yourself! (If you want to see my video on EMOJI RESTAURANT then be sure to visit my youtube channel - Andy Eats! The concept is quite simple if you're eating the BBQ - They fill a grill in the centre of your table with charcoal and then you're free to pick skewers containing meat, seafood and vegetables to cook at the table! Some food cooks better than others but make sure to place the skewers on the grill properly so they self-turn. Otherwise you run the risk of burning one side of the food. You get 2 hours which is plenty but just be aware that the charcoal will not be so hot at this point which will make cooking the food even more difficult. The staff are excellent, albeit a bit slow at times. They were very chatty and helpful - especially when I needed assistance with the candy floss machine!

A good place for having BBQ with friends and family.

The dine-in experience was amazing. The tables were clean, there is a large variety of food and the fact that they have friendly staff.

It’s amazing restaurant, they have bbq buffet, all you can eat , also has main dishes in the buffet. They also do normal meal , just order what ever you like , it’s delicious too. Love them very much , been there few times already, the important part is all the staffs are very nice and helpful.

The worst experience I’ve ever had in a restaurant - At the end of a meal filled with average food and terrible service. We declined to pay the service charge, as service charges are legally optional and our server was very rude we saw no issue in this. Upon asking for the service charge to be removed the waitress was very physically threatening to my group, she got the manager who started swearing at us in mandarin and saying how they wouldn’t let us leave the restaurant without paying a service charge. Behaving very aggressively. When we explained that we did not need to pay for the service charge and showed them the governments legislation on this the waitress said “how long have you even been in this country” this was clearly an insult based on my race. This discrimination has no place in the UK or anywhere else. Absolutely disgusting.

Down to Manchester again for a relaxing Saturday yesterday. Pop in this Self-BBQ buffet restaurant for lunch! We all love it! It’s fun to use the auto-rolling BBQ machine with environmentally friendly smokeless charcoal fire. Staffs are nice. It would be better if there were more types of skewers to choose from.

Looks good and the staff a v friendly - but the special chow mein was quite poor and very greasy. Not ideal at £11 for a takeaway bowl. Sorry.

Best Chinese indoor bbq place in Manchester! The lamb skewers just so tasty! Seafood buffet is the best and the bubble tea is ever so good! Most people come here are Chinese so wonderful experience for multicultural service:)

The service was brilliant ,the food fresh and delicious .

Limited of food choice and the sauce is tasteless. The meat is not marinated well hence the food wasn't that good. We went for the seafood choice for an extra of £5, and the oyster isn't fresh at all. The meal cost for 4 people was £140 incl. gratuity that they add 10% of service charge to the bill, when is a buffet and you cook yourself. I don't see where the service charge is coming from.... Won't be coming again. I would go to Azuma.

Food was not so good and very overpriced, £4 for glass of diet coke is a joke, on top of that coke was brought to me in a glass already poured in so not even sure where it came from

The food was fine but the staff were dishonest with the price and restricted the more expensive items without prior notice.

Food was nice, wasnt told about the 2 hour seat allocation. service was so so as i had problems grabbing their attention. Food variety was ok, however most of the marinated meat was spicy, not suitable for everyones pallet. Price wise was more than expected.

It's delicious, but there are a lot of people, so I suggest you get more at one time. The meat is very fresh, and the grilled pineapple and spicy strips are surprisingly delicious. You can eat 20-30 skewers with an average appetite, it’s much cheaper than other skewers restaurants and it’s fun.

Friendly staff and interesting food experience. Skewers of meat, seafood and veg available to Bbq at your table over charcoal fire. Selection of sauces and side salads available to accompany your meal. Either go for unlimited skewers or select 15 for £15. Great value for money. Also serves bubble tea and cooked food from menu also available.

Make sure you know how to cook BBQ on the coal, otherwise it would be a TORTURE!!!! I have my food mostly cooked into black charcoal 😂

It’s a buffet type Asian / Korean BBQ. Quite a number of choice for meat so good for meat lovers. But honestly it is not the best of this type of restaurants considering the price and quality. There were only two staff that day so if you ask for help from staff, or refill drinks, that could be an issue. And don’t expect the staff will help you put up more carbon to the stove. They barely want to do it even though it is very obvious that it needs to.

Had a wonderful evening here, really good range of bbq, fun and unique. Would happily come back if im passing through manchester again.

The taste is okay and the items are relatively complete. It is recommended not to turn on automatic flipping, as the roasting will be very slow, and someone will come to remind you when the time comes, so you may not be full. Just use a net to spread the whole row, it will be much faster to turn it by hand. Childhood memories of marshmallows are well received!

Nice little asian diner with the option of a self cook buffet on the in built table grills. Seating can be awkward depending on the table. Labeling on the sauces and spices could better. Staff are awesome.

Erika our waitress for (most of the evening) was absolutely great! She went the extra mile to help us with our BBQ food as we were new to this restaurant and we didn’t know how the bbq service works. She was very lovely, funny, welcoming, polite and even taught us how the buffet works. The food quality is absolutely amazing you can either choose bbq buffet where you cook your own food or order from the normal menu. We have chosen the bbq buffet which is unlimited for 2hrs as we wanted to experience it and it also comes with either rice or noodles. Erika definitely deserves thumbs up and should be praised for her role as a waitress she makes your experience 1000 times better.

Great Korean/Asian Bar B Que Skewer restaurant. The staff were very welcoming. The decoration is VERY Yellow, but very cool. So your table has a charcoal pit built into it with rotating skewer mounts, so you go to the buffet style counter and grab what you fancy, cook it yourself over the scorching hot coals and enjoy. Great experience, especially if you have kids (they will love the self service candy floss machine!). Will happily go back for a seconds in the future

Went for the buffet. Food and service were amazing. Plenty of variety from meat and seafood to veg and a bunch of sauces and spices. Very unique experience and fun way of cooking. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food is delicious and plenty of opportunity to go and get more food. They have candy floss you can make yourself too. Shy of 5 star due to price but still probably worth a one off experience. And lacks in the desserts. Definitely recommend trying!

Fantastic place! Korean grill with chicken, mutton, beef, vegetables, seafood, mashamlows and more. Plus cotton candy, rice, pasta. Grill at the table and reservation for 2 hours. Option: additional drinks paid separately. Great fun for all and all you want for around £25. Everything fresh.

had a lovely lunch with a few friends, staff were so sweet and kind! absolutely loved the interior design of the place and the food was delicious! had to give them a tip even if it was our first time. can’t wait to see this place grow <3

New to this place but hearing from other I give it a try.... I enjoyed it because somthing different BBQ indoor using charcoal. It brings it flavour. There things needs improving *BBQ needs lighting so it's viable if food cooked *disappointed paying full price but there where no Scollop available that day. *table space there not enoght room to place things best to have a side stand.

Great restaurant and amazing bbq experience. Staff was super friendly and the food was amazing. There is a wide variety of choices for the bbq buffet. They also offer a wide variety of noodles and rice plates which can be ordered with the bbq experience or on their own. You also get the candy floss experience where you make your own in front of the emoji wall, which is a great way to end tour meal.
