Eltham Grill House in Greenwich

Quite possible the worst fish and chips I’ve ever eaten. I was made to wait 28 minutes for two fish, large chips and curry sauce. Where I was then handed two bits from under a lamp heater They spent most the time doing online orders. I got my food and it was cold, soggy and undercooked. The fish was slimy and grey, lots of water between the batter and fish, showing it wasn’t cooked well enough. To top it off, it was £30!

El personal de camarera era muy agradable, pero después de tomar nuestra orden esperamos al menos 45 minutos. El restaurante está más interesado en servir a los clientes que sirven a los clientes que están sentados en sus mesas. Este es el signo de los tiempos lamentablemente no volvería a comer aquí y no recomendaría. restaurante debe comenzar a cuidar de las personas que en realidad entran en su restaurante.

Entonces, al entrar al restaurante y sentarnos lo primero que notamos fue el frío que hacía. . Mantuvimos nuestras bufandas y abrigos puestos y al final le pedimos a la camarera que pusiera la calefacción. Dijo que hacía frío cuando la puerta estaba abierta. Cuando llegó nuestra comida teníamos porciones muy pequeñas , por el precio , las papas fritas estaban duras y la masa en pescado estaba empapada , no había servicio de mesa después de que llegó nuestra comida . No comimos la comida y no pagamos por ella, y no volveremos.

Pedimos comida para un maravilloso día de San Valentín para 19. 30 , que el restaurante confirmó. Y luego esperamos. Y esperó. Y esperó. Cuando finalmente nos pusimos en contacto con Just Eat nos informaron que el restaurante - sin preguntarnos si eso era aceptable - había programado nuestro pedido para 20 . 45 - 21 . 00 . Nuestra cena de San Valentín se arruinó y en lugar de alegría hubo rabia y frustración. Cuidado. Quien trata así a los clientes no se lo ha merecido.

I love the family atmosphere in this place and the food was delicious. Nora who served us, went out of her way to make the kids feel right at home. The restaurant is a must-try if you are in Eltham!

Great fish and chips, but they don't like heat, very cold for my old bones.

Best fish & chips in Sidcup or Eltham. If you are dining in then the menu is great & food very good. Highly recommend

5 of us went in last night, excellent quality food & reasonably priced. Plenty of vegetarian options too. The mixed starts were great & the Skate & Chicken were cooked perfectly with lots of flav. Highly recommend 👍👍👍

Encantador restaurante bien presentado, pero lamentablemente fue decepcionado por el tamaño de las porciones. Elegimos el bacalao grande pero lamentablemente cuando se sirvió era medio en el mejor de los casos. He pedido bacalao grande en otros restaurantes que generalmente sería casi el doble de grande que en Eltham Grill. Eso dijo que era de buena calidad y sabroso, pero por favor revise su tamaño

The food was absolutely amazing, portions were massive and well worth the value. Fish was lovely and fresh. Chips were out this world with lashings of salt and vinegar! Best fish and chips we've had in ages. Hats of the the chefs. Thank you for the lovely food!!

Great tasting and very good portions!

We have ordered food from this restaurant many times and it's always been excellent, however this evenings was very disappointing. The food was cold, the two sauces I paid for ( one peppercorn and one mushroom) were tasteless and so loose they both looked like dishwater and I ordered garlic mushrooms and got breaded mushrooms instead. I guess tonight was extremely busy.

everything except the calamari was freezing cold. Chips was hard as if old and cold mix with new-ish and warm. Not happy considering the price for abit of chips

Use to visit here when the original owners had the place in the 90s. The place was antiquated until about 5 years ago, when the new owners took over. The place went through a much needed refit and update. The olac looks great, the quality of food and especially the quality of service has deteriorated. Went into the takeaway section for just chips and the little scrawny woman gave me a dirty look and then ignored me. She served someone else that came in after me and so I left. To add insult to injury, they had no cod left at about 18:15 on Friday 17 Jan 2025 (I heard her tell another customer). Eltham doesn't have a good fish and chippy. It's so sad that Eddie sold of Wavefresh some years ago, which was great all together. I won't be back again. I actually had my tenth birthdays meal in this place back in 1996. What a pity it's now a shit show.

I ordered rock and didn't receive it in my order. How can you forget to put it. This is totally unacceptable. I received the cod and chips and two jumbo sausages. The sausages were fine but the cod was not freshly cooked and the chips were basically cold. I am very unhappy with the service you have provided. This is not the first time something like this has happened so I will be ordering elsewhere in future.

Been coming here for 50 years, since I was 5, and even though it’s been refurbed & changed hands it’s still fab. Food great and staff lovely

Great local grill house. Combining Turkish mezze and traditional fish and chips. Service is fast and the portions are huge! Definitely book for tea times

The food is superb but the most important thing they are so hospitable to their guests. The restaurant is so cosy and friendly . My children loved the restaurant and food, thank you!

Chips did not seem like eltham grills normal standard. They' were dry and like reheated? Not crispy and fresh as we have always enjoyed them.

Went with my mum just before Christmas, to remember some old times when we went here many years ago, we were not disappointed, absolutely lovely and we will be returning!

There seem to be an issue lately with delivery my postcode is Se184hb there was never a problem lately it takes your drivers else’s where why this then causing late delivery and cold food

was nice just far too much salt on chips and too much sauce in wraps. I ordered two white chocolate cheese cakes. Do not know what we received but they were really sweet and not white chocolate cheese cake. Wouldn't irder those again.

I was VERY disappointed with my meal tonight.I have used these many times in the past and have always been happy with the food.However last night..the fish was over cooked almost re fried with over cooked batter.Also the chips were barely warm and hard….ALL seemed REHEATED ..extremely disappointed..it was practically inedible.So upset with the whole meal.

Really lovely food. Staff are very helpful, and the service is amazing. If you fancy eating local in Eltham, then i would recommend Eltham grill hse.

Surprised at the choices on the menu really good choice for anyone. All freshly cooked good generous size portions. Kept very clean and tidy. Only downside was a single toilet for all to share. I will be going back again.

Food over cooked was not a good meal

This order was mostly fine. However, the Apple Pie was very disappointing. The pasty had turned to a lumpy liquid. We noticed that the packaging of the Apple Pie was warm, (stored pressed against the other hot items), and this may have caused an unfortunate deterioration to the pie. We would like to place further orders here. However, we would need reassurance that this problem has been addressed.

30 ladies visited for fish and chips meal. The service was very good. Everyone seemed to get their meal at the same time!! The ladies loved the food. 2nd year of going.

The site doesn't allow you to select something without a side or chips. You have to buy your choice with chips which is wasteful and expensive. Please re-think from a customer viewpoint rather than from a profit angle..........

Great portion and delicious fish and chip. Staff are very friendly. It’s good to sit down and unwind for a meal over the weekend. Highly recommend the Cod and Chips. Small is already very big portion for the Cod and Chips. Definitely will come again.

food was great, but they are giving out just eat vouchers that have already expired, so someone is probably using them prior to giving them out. They are within date, but always says expired if I try to use one for my next order which is only usually a few days later. But I'm ordering less as this is a bit of a carrot that I cannot eat! Would be better to not give out vouchers at all than giving out already used ones!

Super quality flaky fish with nice crunchy crispy batter, all very fresh and well cooked. Chips perfect. Packaged well. Instructions followed. The best fish and chips locally. Sometimes a bit of wait time but worth it because it’s fresh cooked.

Always delicious fish served here, and the lamb/chicken shish combination is tasty too. Very friendly staff make it a great local place to eat. Can be very quiet though (which isn't a downside)

Lovely food and very good priced. They cater for everyone including vegetarian and vegan. Great service and attention from the staff working there. Would highly recommend for families or just couples. They also have a takeaway side to the restaurant. High quality

I usually give them a 5* - not sure if it was the lunchtime meal, but the chips were nowhere as good as they usually are. Also, the wraps are falling apart, not tightly wrapped. The sauce I ordered was missing. I hope it is a one off.

Went in to reminisce and ordered Brunch Grill and Egg Brunch. Lovely well cooked meal that arrived on a proper plate with nice cutlery. Lovely lady who served us, very friendly. Very clean.
