Ellingtons what a hidden gem! Food is fabulous fillets that melt in your mouth and the Madeira sauce is out of this world. I can honestly say that my husband and I have never had even a mediocre meal here, it’s always a full on treat. I know that you only do 3 nights a week now but please don’t stop as you are our favourite restaurant in Merseyside. Thank you Cathy and Tony and your brother the best chef around

Visited Ellington’s today for a Sunday roast and it was amazing! It’s so hard to find a good roast out but it was great. Lovely atmosphere and really attentive staff. Will definitely be going back.

Went on a Sunday evening for my birthday. The service was spectacular the whole restaurant has a family feel and they really know how to look after their customers. Staff are so in tune with what makes a good restaurant and nothing is a bother. Drinks were excellent and the food was another level altogether. The honey parsnips on the that roast dinner, wow. The pork crackling was sensational. It really was a sensational roast dinner actually the best Iv ever had

We had been meaning to try Ellingtons for ages? we only live local. It took us a while to get there but it was just amazing, the food was great. the service was really lovely and the drinks were excellent, we really enjoyed our visit and will not be leaving it too long till we return

Had my mums surprise birthday meal here on Sat 23rd Sept it was amazing the whole experience. The food was amazing friendly staff and great atmosphere highly reccomend

It’s rare to find food cooked with such care and such wonderful flavour. You can tell the ingredients are top quality and the chef is wonderful. Perfect meal in perfect surroundings. Superb wine.

The atmosphere was great thanks to the owners who are in front of the house who are very accommodating. If you don't see something on the menu they give you plenty of options that aren't on the menu. It's quite expensive but we will visit again definitely.

Visited for my Birthday I hadn’t been for a long time. The food was as gorgeous as I remember & the staff were very friendly. Loved the playlist it was great, the music was unobtrusive in the background. Will definitely not leave it as long to revisit. Thankyou

Booked last minute but really glad we did. The lady who was front of house was excellent. Great menu with some interesting choices. Food was good quality and fabulous. All the team were really friendly and lots of regulars in. Would definitely recommend.

Amazing restaurant, lovely atmosphere and decor and the staff were great. The food was incredible, literally the nicest steaks we've ever had and the sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce... wow! Definitely going back.

Me and my partner visited for our Valentine’s night out - we always have the most amazing meals at Ellington’s so I had to share how amazing it is! The food is absolutely unreal, the owners are so welcoming and friendly, the staff can not do enough for you. The french martinis are delicious! We got the goats cheese and the chilli prawns and they were both amazing. Both had Welsh Black Beef fillet steak and it was cooked to perfection and better than some Michelin star places we’ve visited. Desert was so light and not overly sweet like some places. Honestly could not fault anything about it and fully recommend ❤️

Just had a fantastic meal at Ellingtons Crosby Liverpool for New Years Eve. Food just fantastic haven’t been there in ages due to Covid but what a meal food still great and service just fantastic thank you to Cathy, Tony and staff for looking after us. Best restaurant in liverpool I go here regularly food is amazing. Right amount of time between courses. Food is delicious and great variety. Ambience spot on. Drinks selection great. Tony always adds special little treats for my daughter Annie. And Kathy is definitely the hostess with the mostest. All staff go over and above. Restaurant spotlessly clean. Can't fault.

We have visited Ellingtons 4 times now and I’m ashamed of myself that this is my first review. This is the most amazing restaurant we have ever been to. The food is just beautiful and the service is incredible. All the staff are so friendly and the owners Tony and Cathy bring something really special, they show attention to all of their customer’s and we always feel so cared for. Every single visit has been amazing and we always leave feeling full and really really happy. If you’re wondering were to go for your next meal please do not hesitate to book. I’m 100% confident that you will absolutely love it.

First visit to Ellington’s and we were really impressed. There was a good menu to choose from, and if you ask there was lots of vegetarian options that weren’t advertised. The food was fantastic, we had Sunday dinners - one chicken and one vegetarian. Good selection of vegetables with both and good sized portions. Fishcake starters were lovely.

I have visited a number of times now and never been disappointed! The food is gorgeous and you can tell it’s all freshly prepared! The Sunday roasts are delicious, with all the trimmings! Desserts are gorgeous and not small in portion! My fave thing I’ve had so far is the chilli prawn starter - so tasty! Love the atmosphere too - it’s cosy and relaxed and the staff are so friendly.

It’s on my doorstep & I’ve only just got round to having Sunday lunch here... what an absolute gem of a place!Great food - the roast beef was cooked to perfection- we requested cooked through and it was but still tender & full of flavour and plenty of it - & sat on a bed of fresh vegetables (the beef not us we sat in the window;)) - all the trimmings were perfect The atmosphere is pleasant- music not too loud lovely clean warm modern restaurant- service with a smile a chat and genuine friendliness from the confident manager... The team here work well to make sure everyone is being looked after and I reckon the chef ‍ ‍ is incredibly experienced- our meals were fabulous and cherry almond tart was divine- all made by the chef! Highly recommended by myself & my chef friend who dined with me today Thank you

From drinks at the bar to leaving at the end of the evening, this was a great evening. Excellent food, wine, service, decor and music. Not over-egging the use of the word “excellent” but this place definitely is.

We had been meaning to visit for a long time and we were given a voucher to use there so chose to go this weekend. Could not fault the place, top service and really delicious food, we can’t wait to come back again :)

The restaurant is lovely. Great atmosphere. Staff are wonderful. The food was sublime. All 4 of us really enjoyed all three courses , no complaints. Would recommend the risotto starter , the fillet steak and the salted caramel dessert. Can't wait to go back.

Although the venue is comfortable and the menu varied, the proprietors are not able to cater for parties in excess of 6 as food was being served at different times which meant some of us had no food/had finished while others were waiting to be served. The owner’s wife is not very hospitable at all.

Fantastic as always.Lovely ambience. The food never fails to impress,service very friendly and unhurried- always nice to have a short break between courses to savour what you have eaten. Cath and Tony are famous in the area for their warmth and humour and I don't know how much the chef earns but it's not enough!! If you haven't visited Ellington's don't wait a day longer, you won't regret it. I can't recommend it highly enough. BW 14/2/19

Regular vistors to this resataurant and have never been able to find fault in food or service . Best restaurant in Liverpool !!!

The food was great! But unfortunately was massively understated by one extremely rude member of staff. We visited as a family for my 21st Birthday, and before more than half of the party had arrived, the waitress came over to take our food orders, I politely asked if she could come back in 5-10 minutes when the rest of the party had arrived, to which she replied ‘no’, and ‘you don’t know how it works, sit down and tell me what you’re having’. I was in shock that these are my first interactions with her, especially as we were there for my birthday. I then simply refused to give my order until the rest of the group had arrived; that didn’t seem to bother her either as she swiftly moved on to the next table in our party and forced them to give their orders even though they verbally complained that they weren’t ready many times. This then followed by a night of rude and totally unprofessional service, with no apology offered.

The best restaurant in the area. Great choice of food all gorgeous with excellent service and great choice of wines. Whether intermit or a party of friends or family they cater for it all xxx

Went for a birthday night out. Great atmosphere, great staff and fantastic food, nothing was too much trouble when I wanted to change part of the meal. Can't wait to go back.

We ate at this restaurant as a family group, and were impressed both by the quality of the meals and also the very attentive service from the waiting staff. They responded to some detailed requests very efficiently and pleasantly. The restaurant has a nice ambiance, and includes a bar at which pre-dinner cocktails can be enjoyed. It is situated on a main road, and so parking can be a bit of an issue, but overall dining here was a very good experience.

Always brill, i always have the seafood but my dad said the lamb was awesome

First visit to Ellington’s and was very impressed. We visited upon a neighbour’s recommendation and had an excellent meal with fabulous service. Roast dinners were delicious. We will certainly be returning soon.

Just got back from having a fantastic meal in Ellingtons. Thank you to Cathy, Tony, the chef and all your wonderful happy staff for such a lovely meal. What a way to welcome in 2019, book us in for next New Years Eve. You couldn't fault any of the dishes, we had the canapés followed by chilli prawns and fish cakes which were both devine, we then had the lamb (there was loads of it and I had to leave some) and my husband had the fillet steak with peppercorn sauce followed by Christmas pudding and brandy sauce and chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream, washed down with wine and blood orange gin and tonic. This restaurant is consistently brilliant, food is delicious, well presented and served by professionally trained staff. The owners value customer feedback and embrace customer satisfaction which is what keeps them ahead of the game locally.

From the welcome at the door, through delicious food, wide choice of drinks and relaxed friendly atmosphere the staff completely delivered on making it an evening to remember. I'd highly recommend the Smoked Haddock Risotto.

highly reccommend Ellingtons for dining out, the staff were very welcoming friendly and professional. the service was well delivered and alk our dishes were very tasty and great to eat,we even bumped into the head chef on leaving that night who was very chatty.

I cannot praise this restaurant enough for a recent wonderful dining experience! We were warmly welcomed and immediately relaxed to easy-on-the-ear background music in a pleasant ambience, with friendly and professional managers and staff catering to our every need at our meticulously clean table. Each member of our party thoroughly enjoyed their different choice of well-presented and tasty food and we shall certainly be visiting Ellington’s again soon!

Service here is a bit brusque. There is also a hierarchy of staff but they don’t explain it when you arrive, so some can take orders and others can only clear plates or deliver plates to the table - it would be helpful if this was explained because we kept asking the wrong people for things. The menu is a whistle stop world tour - Thai, American, Mexican, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, which makes it quite disjointed. My wife struggled to find something that appealed. The restaurant was a bit lacking in atmosphere, it didn’t seem to have any real character. This is not an inexpensive dining experience but the service and the confused menu don’t do justice to the quality of the cooking which was very good. Decent enough wine list.

Both myself and my husband love this place. The food is beautiful, as are the surroundings and atmosphere. I do agree with other reviews when it comes to arriving at the restaurant - it can be a little awkward as you are not greeted by staff when you arrive, and when the bar is busy it can take a while to let them know you have a booked table.

Lovely meal enjoyed with family and friends at Ellingtons this afternoon. Our first visit and definitely not the last. Food and service excellent particularly the goats cheese starter and Thai scallops -delicious!

Third visit here and I will definitely go again. Superb food (I've had gumbo, steak, fish) and excellent service. Yes, you have to wait for your food to be cooked and it is all the better for it being cooked from scratch. You don't mind waiting in such a lovely ambience with a fine soundtrack.

Honestly, wouldn’t have steak anywhere else. This restaurant consistently delivers, great staff, great ambiance and the best food around. Well done Ellingtons, you’re a credit to Crosby.

Best service and food in merseyside

Food was fantastic I would recommend this reasturant all the time. But my experience tonight was a bit strange? Could not understand that I had to follow my starters all the way from the bar to my table. What I mean is we had not been sat down and the staff brought our starters to the bar and was told to follow them to the table? After a lovely meal I pulled the owner up about this but was told i had too much wine and they have had a good night and didn't give a care so pay your bill and go. Really disappointed night in the end. Sorry Kath and Tony felt you didn't hear my complaint.

Anyone living in the Crosby area will remember the 'old' Charlie Parkers and the promise of a new restaurant being developed on Liverpool Road. The progress of the new restaurant seemed to move at a geological pace and the possibility of this new restaurant ever opening became mythical, like unicorns, the Loch Ness Monster, leprechauns and eskimos. However ,a few years ago it did open and, with the excuse of Lady Furness' birthday, Red (the wife) and I, with friends Vincenzo and Lady Furness, were able to make a long awaited visit to this new family run restaurant, Ellingtons.

When Charlie Parkers opened many years ago, my wife and I were walking from our house towards South Road, with the intention of calling into the Liver hotel for a bite of lunch. A new restaurant had just opened on the corner of St. Johns Road and Crosby Road North, and we decided to give it a go. We were made extremely welcome by the owners, Tony, John and Cathy, and we had a lovely meal. This was many, many years ago, so the meal, one of many we've enjoyed since, is lost in the mists of time. We became regulars and were never ever refused a table, even on the busiest days or nights, and We never had a meal that we didn't enjoy in all those years. A few short years ago, John and Tony opened the new Ellingtons, near Endbutt Lane, on Liverpool Road. We tried it soon after and discovered that the skills John and his kitchen staff had in Charlie Parkers had translated quite perfectly to Ellingtons. I love the food and wine, the atmosphere is gorgeous and always friendly. In my opinion, Ellingtons is one of the constants in Crosby. Keep it so.

Yet again another fabulous meal never let down at this restaurant o had seared beef and noodle starter and the belly pork and my husband had the gumbo and the hake wow what a meal love this place just wish they did theme nights with wine tasting nights sign me up !!!

We were welcomed didn’t book a table but as it was early we got a table as the evening went on it got much busier so I would book in advance in future. The food was delicious and all the staff were helpful and full of smiles especially a lady with dark hair I feel she may of been the owner, so much passion and attention to detail. I would return as I was looking around at what other food was being ordered and everything looked great.

Ate at Ellington's again on a Saturday in July with friends ( party of four). Food is fabulous here, all freshly prepared and cooked to perfection.

We used to go to Charlie Parker’s (now the Wonderful workshop) Ellington’s was faultless a couple of nights ago. The seafood was perfect. The service was excellent. Kathy( maitre d) remains in tune and knowledgeable and very personable and polite. This is a family based business. They know what they are doing and they are warm and rightfully proud.

Had a lovely 3 course meal here, never ever have 3 courses but they had my favourite desert. Staff and food were excellent and it was a lovely setting for our anniversary
