Elixir Ristorante in Richmondshire

Terrible meal. Not an Italian restaurant. Frozen food reheated . No atmosphere and deceiving from menu. If you want basic grub reheated go, but do not expect traditional Italian. Very disappointed

My husband & myself went for lunch as it was my birthday it was absolutely delicious & plenty of it.Service was great too,thanku.

Had lunch here one Saturday and couldn't fault it. However, I booked a table for 8pm on Tuesday night, the starters were average but the main course very good and the waiter/waitress were fine too. The main problem was being made to feel like we were pushed to leave. On the Elixir website it states they are open until 10.30 pm, however, from 9.30 we were being stared at, made go feel uncomfortable and glasses were being cleared unnecessarily. It was made clear the staff wanted to finish, which appeared to be coming from a woman behind the bar (possibly manager?). Also two of our party were asked for ID when we ordered our second drink, which is absolutely fine, but they were not asked the first time which seemed alittle strange. I notice there is a similar review on here raising the same issue. I would advise not to book here after 7pm as the restaurant does not want the later trade. And to Elixir, don't book tables for 8pm if you want to be shut by 9pm. Fortunately we were in good company and made it funny so it didn't spoil the evening but it could have!!

Popped into this restaurant late afternoon as few other places still serving. WELL what can I say except what a lovely place . Food was gorgeous. quality ingredients, plentiful, Served hot., and very reasonably priced. Staff were friendly. Helpful and attentive. Definitely be returning in the near future.

Absolutely gorgeous food. Great menu and we were blown away by the flavours and quality of everything we ordered. I’ve never had such stunning pasta (and I’ve eaten a lot) everything from the wine to deserts were outstanding . Would definitely return and would definitely recommend .

At a loss for somewhere to eat on a quiet Monday night and liked the look of this place. Nice interior decor and staff were very helpful and pleasant. Ordered starters and I am always slightly wary of food that arrives relatively quickly, I needn't have been as all three of our starters were fantastic. On to the mains and again, a very prompt service and this has to have been one of the best mains I have eaten in a restaurant in a while. I had the Traditional Chicken Parmo and it was amazing. Quality aside, I was ASTOUNDED at the portion sizes when it arrived also. Fantastic food, I haven't eaten all day today as I am still full from the size of the plate last night!!! I will visit again if I am in the area.

The most awful restaurant experience I’ve ever had. The ovens were not on so we had to wait ages to order. The coffee was at best a day old filter coffee, definitely not americano ! When it did arrive the calamari was clearly fried from frozen and way too tough to eat. A total waste. The roast vegetable panini had one piece of pepper and one piece of aubergine in it, with plenty of cheese being the only redeeming element. The charring on the outside was interesting. To top it all the bins had been emptied and left at the top of the stairs, not particularly nice in a restaurant but worse as it was the access to the toilet ! The restaurant was grubby and clearly not cleaned from the night before. The only good things were the chips and fruit juice… the staff didn’t seem to know what they were doing either. I really wouldn’t bother going here. I won’t be going back.

Awful experience yet again. Works night out. My colleague accidentally shattered my wine glass whilst having a coughing fit. One of the staff came and took the wine glass (with half my wine in it) and left the plate of food which I couldn’t eat for fear of finding glass in it. No offers of replacing my drink and I had to ask for another glass of wine. I asked for a small one and when I went to pay he had given me a large one. There was glass all over the table. 15 mins after the food had been cleared I spoke to the waitress and explained I had been unable to eat my food for fear of glass. I asked her if I could have a reduction on my bill. She offered me another meal but we were getting ready to leave at that point so I refused. When I went to pay I offered to pay for half a meal I hadn’t been able to eat and the guy dealing with the money told me this was not possible. He also started to make excuses to my colleague who was standing next to me and had nothing to do with it. There was a queue of about 5 people waiting to pay and I felt pressured into paying the full amount. He gave me the email address so I could address my issue with ‘the manager’. I emailed them last night and had a response back saying they were sorry I didn’t enjoy my meal and that I was offered another meal and they couldn’t give me a full refund.

Lovely food, well cooked and hot. None of your pre prepared food here. Staff lovely, friendly and helpful.

Friday night walk in. Staff very pleasant. The interior is cheap and cheerful but when I saw T bone steak on the menu for £23 I couldn't resist and I really enjoyed it. Portions are large and the chips are massive.

Top notch! Party of fifteen for a 50th wedding anniversary party. Ages ranging from three to over seventy- the whole family! The food was wonderful- the staff were so friendly and helpful. It was our anniversary and we live in Richmond, we haven’t had a better meal in any of the other restaurants in the town. Their Sunday lunches are superb too.

We came across this place on our recent visit to Richmond. We wanted a light lunch. The decor was very nice and the staff were very friendly and accommodating when we wanted a table away to for side. I had a chicken and mayo sandwich that came with chips fresh salad and a delicious homemade coleslaw. My husband had a cheese tomato and onion toaster with the same sides. They were very tasty and were obviously made fresh. The tea and decaf latte were also nice. I’d recommend this place highly. The menu was very extensive and I hope I get the chance to go again to try some of the other delis sounding dishes.

I have visited Elixir a few times before always on a weekend and enjoyed the experience however I recently visited with friends on a Monday evening and was disappointed. When we arrived there were around 5 tables finishing up and another couple also arriving. We had pre-booked the table for 8pm and had been given no indication by staff that they would be in any rush to close up at that time. However when we sat down and started looking at the menu and a few tables left they turned off all the music in the restaurant, started noisily cleaning cutlery at the bar and were very quick to approach us for our order and gave us the bill straight away. The food was good but nothing overly brilliant. I would say there are definitely better Italians in Richmond and if they don't want to have customers in on a Monday evening or close up early then don't take table bookings for that time or day rather than purposefully making customers feel unwelcome.
