Rude service ,quite rude and hostile when we only asked once where our order was when half of us were eating and other waited well over 15 minutes for the same meal,food was okay over cooked chicken rock solid to eat,so many staff standing about doing nothing while we waited for a simple order same when we ordered simple desserts also

It's OK for a quick lunch, you get what you pay for.

Terrible Christmas Day experience. Long waits between service and poor communication (didn’t feel like there was a manager). Those with the vegetarian option watched others eat as they had been told theirs would be brought out and eventually found out they needed to go line up (after others had finished). Was two hours before desserts came and that was only after asking. Once they did, the majority were left as they were inedible (Christmas mousse tasted awful) and no mince pies as advertised. Would not go again.

We did collection yesterday (Xmas Day) to take away as our daughter was in hospital. I can honestly say this is the BEST Christmas Dinner we have ever had and the portion size was HUGE. We cannot thank you all enough for this wonderful meal, service, accommodating us at last minute and value for money. The whole team should be proud of what they put out yesterday. Thank you all so much again and we will definitely be back.

As soon as we go into the pub/restraunt the staff couldn't of been friendly as they seated us next to the soft play area as my (2 year old) son was with me. He loved playing in there . The staff were so kind and paitent as we decided what to get ourself and my son. They showed me where the baby changing toilet are. And got a free ice cream at the end of the meal which put a massive smile on my son face

Family meal before the panto, and it was excellent. 3x carvery and 1x combo stack burger and 1x farm giant burger. Chips excellent. Very happy with the food and drink. Staff were lovely. Thank you.

Ordered set lunch, starters good value soup and mushrooms, mains dish smaller than a kids portion dry chips, carvery couldn’t slice any thinner if they tried, burger not very wam and cheese didn’t melt chips dry

Usually the food and service is very good but when we visited on Sunday 24th November we were very disappointed. The 2 tortillas to share were lacking in dressing and there was a poor helping of tortillas,not up to the usual standard by any means and poor helpings for 4 people. The two standard carvery’s took 20-25 minutes to obtain and members of staff seemed to take little interest in speeding things up which did not help the backlog. My combo burger arrived with like warm chips and vary little coleslaw.It wastiny and looked nothing like the image in the menu.Very disappointing! My friend ordered a burger which also arrived with like warm chips.I looked like a MacDonalds reject. The chicken salad consisted of lots of lettuce with a few bits of tomato and cucumber with a couple of slices of meat. Not of the usual standard. The food from the kitchens yesterday left a lot to be desired. Was this due to non regular staff. It will take a lot to encourage me and my family to return to a weekend meal as the food and service seem much better during the week without the weekend hype in prices. I would like a reply to this and no waffle please!

Driver input wrong address deliver taking him elsewhere. I had to end up taking this man’s personal telephone number to send him my address through a social media app. The food is cold. Will be phoning for a refund

We just are here for the first time and won't be back. We both chose the carvery followed by apple crumble and custard. The apple crumble was fine, hot and tasty BUT the carvery meal was awful. The meat was lukewarm, all of the veg were cold, roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings were brick hard and cold Nothing about the carvery meal was good or indeed edible. We did tell the waitress that the food was cold and the reply was "I will tell.the chef". No apology or any word from the "chef". I can't recommend this place to anyone.

I love peppercorn sauce but no lt the one from here, can't even rate it out of 10 not even worthy of a place on the scale. The chicken medley was a chicken monstrosity, quite literally tasted like frozen chicken fillets from tesco...didn't entertain the rest of the meal as I was out off with the chicken and sauce. Very very average(at a push) Pint was good.

Party of 12 adults 2 kids, our booked restaurant had to close an hr before our reservation and Elginhaugh were able to fit us in with 40 mins to go. Excellent food and service, will be 1st choice from now on- thank you!!

This place is in need of a refit! It's very dirty around the bar area and floors. Food was just okay.

Kid friendly, servers didn’t really care, food was overpriced and a little bit lacking. I mean I payed £13 for 6 tiny chicken strips and a handful of chips it was like a kids meal on big plate. Other than the food it was a relaxed feel and not too busy, which is either cause of the food or the fact we went at 11.30 on a Thursday morning??

The gravy! The gravy is enough to send me back again and again. It is never runny and always the perfect consistency for thickness and taste. The chefs carving the meat are always so friendly and the choices are fantastic. For me the best carvery I've eaten in Scotland.

Portion was not even fit for a child chips were solid un eatable wont order that again

First time trying and damn! Incredible food, great atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, cake slices that are bigger than my head, no long queues, my new favourite spot for carvery! I had the large plate and guarantee i wont need to eat for 24hrs now, already looking forward to next weekends visit.

Food was nice still warm. service was fantastic only thing was staff were in the Christmas outfits and wasn't even Halloween

Excellent staff and food quality! I was out with family and decided to pop into grab something to eat. I was served by David and Cameron and I must say that their service and friendliness was top notch. Food was excellent for the price and I left a happy diner. Would recommend visiting if you have the chance, you won't be disappointed

Not too shabby! Obviously it arrived luke warm, it’s dished up from a serving counter! Couple of minutes in the microwave and it’s piping hot! I’m a big eater and that was a big meal, I’m stuffed! Although there’s always room for cake😈

All the staff are so friendly making sure you get excellent service. Nothing is too much trouble.

Had the Sunday carvery. Food was good, small plate was enough for adult unless really hungry. Large plate enormous. Was very busy but got served in good time. Great for kids as decent play area.

Very good. I got the small carvery. Two small slices of wafer thin meat. You could practically see through it. Delicious but small meat portion. My friend got large and hers was decent.

Great staff and lovely atmosphere . I have special accommodations as I have two Assistance Dogs that usually come along with me and my family. The manager is so lovely and she even gives me some water for them. 10/10

We had the Sunday roast carvery very good it didn't taste mass produced more like home cooking couldn't fault it .meat was well cooked and moist good selection of vegetables. All cooked well .very pleased. Tried other places of this type and the carvery here was much better second visit this year both times the food was very good . We were in the children's area so a bit noisy but we had little children with us they loved it .Very reasonably priced .puddings are huge .Definitely will be coming back .

The food was fine, but the service was very slow. We waited a short while for our starters, but then 45 minutes for our mains. When I went to the bar to ask what was happening with our order, the poor lad had no idea how to check it. We were sat waiting at our table (with the used plates from the starters) until eventually our food arrived without any apology for the delay. It looked like the place did not have enough staff, or were somehow surprised by the number of customers on a Saturday afternoon/evening. When the food did arrive, it was fine.

As regulars at Elgin Haugh, we love the relaxed cosy atmosphere and tasty food (the apple crumble is a particular favourite). Lana and the team are excellent - friendly, helpful and welcoming. Thanks for looking after us so well.

Great place to meet up with family. Prices are very reasonable and very tasty. Carvery is great value. I had gammon steak and eggs 2. At 8.99 for that and a piece of chocolate brownie I was very satisfied. There on a Tuesday.

Once again served dried up red tinged beef full of fat, couldn’t eat , thick end slice of beef that had clearly been lying around all afternoon, potatoes with gravy already on them, the carvery looked like the food was ready for the bin. At 5pm I’d have expected fresh and not from all day service.

We booked for a birthday celebration. We were a little disappointed when carvery was just taken off on our arrival. However the food we ordered was excellent and the staff were lovely and sang happy birthday when bringing cake out. The manager in particular was very nice and apologised for the carvery being off. Her mannerisms was very pleasant and polite and we had a really nice time . Would recommend. Hopefully we'll get a crack at the carvery next time

First time in a long time having a carvery! And this didn't disappoint! Was seated quickly ordering took a little long because only one person was on the till but wasn't anything serious. Got the large with the extras. Once I'd eaten I almost had to nap!

We have used elginhaugh farm for many years and loved a family Sunday lunch here however the last 3 or 4 times this has been terrible . Our latest visit was Saturday for a little lazy lunch. Myself and my daughter had the carvery and my partner had the mixed grill. I don't even know where to start. The carvery... carrots where still hard not even partially cooked, no longer do broccoli so cauliflower cheese or hard carrots , the beef dripping potato's couldn't even be cut with a knife as they had been sat so long however when asked about this I was told they were just put out and were squirming more cold beef dripping from a bottle onto the top of them. The mashed potatos where like glue, yorkies where cold. The cabbage and gravy was good. My partners mixed grill his gammon was so salty that he had to go spit it out in the bathroom, his steak was good , sausage was burnt beyond beleife. However because we have always had good experiences we thought we could let it go. Furthermore.the biggest problem was the flys buzzing around us whilst we were trying to eat this food. I have a picture of 6 flys all sat on the picture behind my partner we got that fed up we took our daughters ice cream to the car for her to eat so she wasn't getting hounded by these flys. I approached the main bar on my way out to explain this issue ( never even mentioned the food) and showed the picture and video I had of the flys to be responded to with. " yeah we have been having a bit of a problem with flys lately I can only appolugise" where they're are flys there are maggots and the way the food was this wasn't lying great for us so unfortunately after 6+ years of once a week visits here we will not be back.

Best dinner I have ever had delivered. Everything cooked to perfection and so much of it that I've had to leave the enormous slice of chocolate fudge cake until later. Amazed at the amount of food at such a reasonable price. Recommend 100%.

Have visted here a fair amount recently. Best part aside from the massive mouth watering puddings was the friendly staff, particularly David - who is such a credit to have working at this place, definitely brightens the place up with his friendly attitude and outstanding service. Definitely goes above and beyond :) Can't say the same about some of the other staff though - theres one, not sure if she's a team leader or a manager but she gives the place bad vibes with the way she stares down at customers walking by - makes you feel a tad unwelcome.

We come to The Elginhaugh frequently with friends and family. We also come with a veterans charity. We are always warmly welcomed. The food is lovely. Portion size is generous. Family friendly environment. Play area for kids is good also.

We ordered 2 lots of beef and 1 turkey but only got 2 slices of meat. Just for info 8 potatoes plus mash is to many. Would prefer more veg instead.

We've been coming at least twice a month for our meal,but we were disappointed tonight we always order the same chicken wings for a starter for me and the wife cheesey garlic bread for my daughter my wife's chicken wad raw and my daughters garlic bread was burnt the waitress brought out my daughters main before her starter,me and the wife got carvey for main meal and the wife's meat was awfully fatty.we hope its just a one off as we enjoy coming here

The service was very decent before covid and still better on 2022, but now the staffs are impatient, there is no one to explain in details about the buffet breakfast and changes that has been made since the last time. I didn't enjoy my recent experience.

Called in while on holiday, extremley friendly and efficent staff, lovley food of which there was plenty.

Found this place on route to our Sons, north of Edinburgh. The Lady on the table allocation was superb. Service was superb. Price brilliant. An Electric Charger in the Car Park. But Food Poor. My Wife's burger Looked lonely on the plate and she left some. My Mixed Grill looked brilliant value for Money. But obviously pre cooked and warmed up. Shame we would have loved to use it again. Perhaps it was because it was Friday.

We could choose three pieces of carvery each and I chose 2 beef and one turkey each. Delivered was one beef on one plate and two pieces of turkey and one beef on the second. Doesn’t make much sense to me.

Came in with a sleeping baby, but in this establishment you’re allowed to sit in the kids area of the restaurant. With all the screaming kids we decided to move to a quite corner of the restaurant, since there were plenty of free tables, only to be approached by the manager to be told we weren’t allowed to move to tables. Terrible service and absolutely no consideration for customers. Avoid if you can. We went across the street to the Melville where the staff were wonderful.

Had to wait a ages on food arriving. Wouldn't accept our blue light card, had to use phone but wifi was rubbish, was disappointed with that. It was a 16th bday so atmosphere was good with us.

Wow....what a find. A brilliant place to have Sunday lunch. The meat options are fantastic (Carvary) as well as the Open early to late 7 days a week. Left happy and full. The food is sublime. The service is fantastic, the atmosphere is fabulous. Cannot recommend it high enough.
