Elephant and Castle in Chorley

A bit flag wavey with pictures of Winston Churchill and union jacks everywhere, and not much in the way of cask ale on tap. Min spend of a fiver on card felt a bit archaic also, however, a pint of guiness was fairly cheap and service was fast despite it being rammed.

Excellent local pub. great atmosphere, friendly staff and owner love music and events.

Went for NYE. Absolutely brilliant. Had a fantastic time. I'm from the south and everyone was so friendly. Would defo be going on there again Has it changed? No Brilliant pub, fantastic staff. Went for the euro final. Any trouble brewing was dealt with swiftly. Amazing atmosphere.

Where do I start,I started drinking there in 1974 at the age of 14,(things were different then).I moved out the area in 1984,and went travelling until I walked back into the elephant 3 months ago.There was no change to the atmosphere, it still felt the same,that's what I missed wherever I went,,,,it's years of personality embedded into the walls ouzing out,its been revamped,but you can still feel the history.I couldn't give a five star rating for the food as I didn't eat there,,,When your ma says she's cooking,,,,I go home,,,enjoy popping in for a good natter with the manager,,,,she's glaswegian and brilliant,,

A great family run pub, staff and the owners are incredible, so friendly and you feel more than welcome.

Looks a bit grim on the outside but when you get inside it's a really nice pub with friendly staff.

Had a fabulous time at Northern Soul and Mowtown event celebrating 🍾 mum's. Event was extremely busy, pub was heaving everyone was very friendly. Great night out.

Visited for the first time to meet a friend who is a new local to Adlington. Not only is the pub itself nicely decorated, the people in there were warm and welcoming, including the staff. A mix of young and old alike, lots of sitting areas, pool table, good bar stock and tap choices (I don't have any info on cocktails though) and a really solid digital jukebox. Parking to the rear (although small). Will definitely be visiting again.

New refurbished and much improved village pub. Very friendly landlord and landlady, entertainment at weekends and soon to be serving food.

Fantastic pub. Very cosy. Lovely family running the pub very welcoming. Toilets were spotlessly clean too.

Excellent ,pubs as they should be

Nice town pub, nothing fancy but good beer and friendly staff and locals. Went in by chance as they had Barca v Liverpool on. We were allowed to bring in a takeaway at half time which was good as we were starving by then and it meant we were able to watch the second half. Nice pub, good value.

Went at a quiet time for a chat with friends and a few drinks. Parking was a bonus for me.

Lea Anne, i find to be,a very good and efficient member of the barstaff, who always has a pleasant and happy demeanour, with a happy smile, and always willing to help and accommodate the customers, whatever the situation; overall, a very good bar person to have on anybodies staff,and always enjoy the real ales, which are always excellent, in a warm and friendly atmosphere;a credit to the management.

Avoid at all costs. Absolute witch of a landlady. Unfortunately the landlady of this pub let's the place down.

Friendly staff and clean pub.... but a monday offer of a 2 course meal for a fiver ?? And it was bloody gorgeous too.. highly recommended

Great Barr staff. Exceptionally clean lines. Good beer and the customers are really friendly too. Live sport. Cheap, well prepared home cooked food. Brilliant!
