Lovely pub/restaurant. Very welcoming and friendly staff and patrons! Nice casual, cosy atmosphere & very dog friendly. It was our puppy's first holiday and he was made very welcome by the staff with treats and fuss. The food is typical pub grub. Steak was 5 star, as was the beef pie! Fantastic quality meat and cooking.

We ate at Elen's Castle on a couple of nights whilst staying locally and all the meals we had were great. There's a reasonably good choice of dishes on the menu - the fish pie was especially good, as were the lasagne and the lamb shank, the veggies were nice and crunchy and it was all piping hot. Desserts were also good, and the people working in the restaurant were friendly.

We have just returned from a two night stay at Elen's Castle and ate in the restaurant each evening. The food is of excellent quality and is obviously cooked with love. I believe everything is freshly prepared and locally sourced where possible and this is evident in the delicious flavour of the meals. The quantities were also perfect. We would have no hesitation recommending this restaurant as an excellent place to eat.

I have visited this lovely restaurant a number of times. The menu offers a good choice of dishes and all tastes are well catered for. The majority of food offered is locally sourced. I recommend the Welsh Beef Pie and the Lamb shank especially these are my personal favourites. There are a nice variety of sweets also available and the Bar is well stocked. The restaurant has been recently beautifully re decorated and is very pleasant and comfortable. Adam and Helen always do their best to make you feel welcome here and Phil the resident Chef works hard to see that your meal is cooked and presented to your liking. Although the Restaurant is at Elen's Castle Hotel non residents are always very welcome and why not stay at the Hotel which is set in a lovely location

We stayed at the hotel in June 2021 and ill be honest I wasn't expecting much from the restaurant but I was sooooo wrong. The food was excellent and perfect portion sizes. I would highly recommend the restaurant for an evening meal out.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the food in this restaurant. It looked and sounded good but the taste and quality of presentation were better than expected. I had the ‘Garlic Overload’ starter and lamb shank on night one, and scoffed both down without a breath. I could not stand the thought of leaving the lamb mint gravy so asked for some bread to mop up with…fantastic!! Night 2 was loaded potato skins and the burger, sweet potato fries and onion rings and a portion of the brandy and peppercorn sauce to dip the rings and fries in…. the burger was great, I couldn’t quite finish it, as it much bigger than I thought it would be, cooked perfectly. Easily recommended from me. Nothing to fault at all.

We stay at this hotel regularly with our dog Benji and very much enjoy the food - eaten in the comfortable bar again with Benji. The Welsh steak is to be recommended as is the fish pie and the lamb shanks. Helen and Adam are always friendly and hospitable and we so enjoy our stays most recently in May 2021 We have even driven all the way from Oxford for supper and then driven back!!!!

Cosy cafe. Not many tables and can get quite busy. Staff friendly and helpful. Nice bit of music in the background. Breakfast was nice but would have been good to have the option of a poached egg. Only option was fried. Enjoyed my milkshake and my partner enjoyed his coffee. Fair value for money given the tourist area. No parking directly outside but carparks closeby and road parking a way up the road.

Coffee was better than costa and the cake was to die for , all served with a smile. I will definitely be stopping by again.

Tried to charge for a squeeze of Costco ketchup on my son’s chips after I spent £15 on drinks and chips. It’s easy to spend my hard earned money ANYWHERE else. Usually really like going out of my way to support local independent business that go the extra mile to attract more tourists to the area…. Won’t be coming back here unfortunately. Shame as the location is great. Perhaps this is a little petty, but I thought it just plain mean.

Nice home cooked food, friendly staff! Visited a few times now, a basis looking place but the quality and choice of good home cooked food with really friendly service keeps us coming back and recommending to family. Great value, easy access and free parking.

This is just the most wonderful place..! Afternoon tea today - their own-blend leaf tea was to die for. Best "cuppa" we've had in a long time. The fixed-price afternoon tea came with our choice of sandwich from the main menu, a choice of home-made cake, and an extremely generous portion of bara brith. scones & Welsh cakes. Do this at least once in your life. The quality is exceptional as is the customer-service - real nice people working here. Vert traditional tea-room setting - about 20 covers inside? Seating also available outside and their are quite extensive trails up & behind the property to walk off some of the carbs ;) If you're visiting the Conwy Valley this needs to be on your list.
