We booked for four online. They took aur money & when we got there they were closed. On a Friday night! The site evensaid they were open & we were standing there outside, looking at a dark restaurant!

Rubbish. Booked a table for four & they are closed! Not very good.

The service is good, the food very good value and freshly prepared. I went with another couple and then arranged a party of sixteen and everyone there was happy with their meal

This restaurant provides superb service as well as delightful menu. One of the best place in the area. The drinks and food came out quick and the rates are fair. Will definitely recommend this place.

I celebrated my PhD today in this great restaurant. Well we enjoyed a outstanding evening and the restaurant was indeed one of the reasons for the fruitful celebration. The waiters collaborated in a splendid style, the meals were delicious and my guests were so glad. We shall no dout visit again for more joyful events. thanks very much.

5 star for Elbi's!!! We do love coming back ... nice and quiet restaurant, not cheap but the food is always lovely. Do not listen to 1 star reviews from all the Muhammads that probably just try to slag Elbi's off so we go and eat their kebab next door.

Really enjoyed our visit here. Very relaxed atmosphere, lovely staff and great food. My 4yr old fell asleep and so was going to miss out on dinner. They packaged up a full size meal (and charged half price as a kid's meal) for us all to take home; nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be returning.

I have been to Elbi’s a few times for dinner and the service and food has always been very good. I cannot understand how it is not packed out every night.

The restaurant was surprisingly quiet it being quite close to Xmas, indeed as we were finishing our meal we were the only ones left in there.The service was prompt (as you would expect considering how busy they weren't) & the food was good. I thought the prices were on the high side for this type of establishment (which may explain the lack of customers?).Probably won't use again, there are better/cheaper options in the area.

Party of seven all first time diners at Elbi's. Each of us had different starters and mains and without exception every member of the party said their food was was delicious. Reasonably priced and great service from staff too. We will definitely be returning.

Me and family visited Elbi’s on a Wednesday night and we was quite sceptical at first as the restaurant was empty but we had never been there before so thought we’d give it a try and so glad we did because the food was excellent and staff very friendly. Good value for money. We will definitely be returning in the near future :)

We had wanted to support local business by giving this restaurant a try...We waited 10 mins for a menu. We then ordered starters and 2 lamb roasts. Starters took 40 mins to arrive. When the starters came we were told that there was actually no lamb or beef or yorkshire puddings. We were told they could do roast chicken. Almost an hour late a roast arrived which was clearly just chicken breasts oven cooked. Very salty meal, boiled veg tasteless. Roast potatoes average. Staff very inattentive, waste of time over 2 hours overall waiting so long for each course and wish we hadn't bothered.Will not recommend or return.

First time I have been to elbis and it won’t be the last the food was amazing I had the biggest skate wing I had ever seen and it was cooked to perfection

We were caravanning locally and came back to Upminster on the train at about 7.30pm. A bit too late to get back to the van and start cooking. Saw Albi's and went in. We were the only people there, but they were waiting for a booked table of 8-10 people.I had the stuffed chicken, my wife had seafood linguine, both were excellent. Didn't have enough room for pudding.When we left, the party still had not arrived, they are now 30-45 minutes late. Why are people so selfish and inconsiderate. I hope they arrived eventually, otherwise it is a totally wasted night for the staff and they may have turned away other potential customers.

We found this restaurant by chance, and boy did we strike gold. I have had many seafood linguine's in my life, but is right up there.the squid starters was truly Amazing, cooked to perfection. My wife had the lamb and that too was exceptional. This is now my go to restaurant, definitely 5 stars

We have been to Elbi’s a few times now, it’s a lovely restaurant with great food. Definitely worth a visit.

Sunday Roast and ambience superb. Prices very reasonable and service very good, polite and friendly. Ideal place to just have a decent lunch with relatives or friends and just chill.

The food was excellent. There was a large party which was very noisy and made listening to your friends difficult. Staff were very attentive. Would thoroughly recommend.

We recently went for a meal on a Saturday night! Could not fault the food, excellent portion sizes, good variety, cooked to perfection and has a specials board. Comfortable surroundings, excellent service, music playing. Will definitely visit again.

Visited with my husband on a evening, and was pleasantly surprised, staff were very helpful and friendly, and we ordered drinks, and perused the menu, we both had starters, Tiger prawns and avocado, prawns and crab,salad they were both delightful and presented nicely, for mains my husband had lamb cutlets, and I had mixed grilled fish,which were both very tasty, all in all a very nice meal, and will definitely return

The service is good and the food is excellent. What a pity that more people are not using this resteraunt as the atmosphere in the place is not so good. I have visited this resteraunt twice once on a Sunday afternoon and once on a Saturday evening within a two week period and there was only a few customers there. I hope this is because of the time of year and things improve.

Visited early on a Friday night pre show in Hornchurch. Service was a bit sullen, but noted they were friendly with people who were obviously regulars. No cranberry juice and no attempt to source any from local shop (we were only diners initially so not busy) Food was ok but bland and veg was all a bit too al dente. Quite expensive for what it is. I won’t be going back anytime soon

Ate in Elbi’s food was delicious. Especially recommend the Paella it was so tasty. Muscles were fab too. Had a very enjoyable evening.

Exceptional value for money and great customer service. The restaurant was very clean I would recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Another great meal at Elbi’s. Sunday lunch this time, 3 generous courses for £16.95. Set menu with choice of 3 roast meats, salmon, or a vegetarian option. Several starter and desert choices. The bruschetta starter and tiramisu desert were delicious. Great service too.

Lovely place to dine, top quality authentic food. Please give Elbi's a try, i found this place by chance because i have had enough of places like the Nags Head serving sub-standard food at over the top prices.

We visited Elbi's last sunday and have to say the food was impeccable. i had ( chicken , beef and lamb all mixed) which came out with roast potatoes, vegetables, coliflower cheese and a giant home made yorkshire. Everything was cooked to perfection and the service was of a great standard with the waiter checking back every few minutes to ensure everything was good. all in all i was very impressed and would definitley be back.Thanks.

I had the pleasure of spending my birthday at Elbis restaurant, on Friday evening. Fab food, great atmosphere and very friendly staff. I look forward to spending Valentine’s Day at this venue.

Went in December and firstly the food was AMAZING! honestly we all loved it.. had such an amazing time all the staff were so friendly one in particular I think his name was Ruben he was so friendly and welcoming. I went with my family from all ages and we had a blast... a million percent worth the visit! Thanks and see you soon

Have used this restaurant several times since opening and always been totally satisfied. Staff very attentive and food has been excellent, recently visited on a live music night and although a bit loud was a very enjoyable evening. Prices are about average for the area, parking can be a problem in the local streets but allow time for that. If you want a quiet meal with friends to chat don't go on music nights but otherwise any other night is fine. Would recommend to anyone who wants a pleasant evening with friends or as a couple.

Where to begin , very good value set menu 4 courses I had scallops in bacon followed by Dover sole, perfect food .my husband had steak and as he is an expert in meat he is very fussy yet even he said the quality of the steak was outstanding and cooked perfectly. Our fussy daughter didn’t like any of the choices yet they offered her something completely different. Nothing was too much trouble for them even though they were very busy . Absolutely brilliant

We booked Elbi's for Christmas Dinner for three of us including my husband's 91 year old Godmother. The staff were very helpful, accommodating the needs of an elderly diner. We had some lovely food, cauliflower and chestnut soup, garlic mushrooms which tasted great. They served a fantastic lemon sorbet in large lemons from Naples. The main courses were good and Christmas pudding excellent. It was refreshing to go out for home cooked food on Christmas Day. The atmosphere cheerful, bright and the staff very helpful. Thank you for helping to make our Christmas Day enjoyable.

My family and I, had the pleasure to spend Saturday evening at Elbi’s restaurant, in Upminster . The food was FAB, the staff were very attentive... I had the Special, Skate fish, whilst my wife had the Spagetti Vongole ... yummy and generous portions It is a family run restaurant and indeed, they make you feel part of the family. Looking forward to many more Saturdays at Elbi’s.Merry Christmas

At best we would say, food is mediocre - generous portions but the food lacks flavour & does not represent the region it is meant to be from. We were disappointed as there are restaurants with much better quality within easy reach of this place. On a positive note, the service was polite & food was properly served. At no time did we feel rushed, but we as a group would not rush to return. The chefs need to up their game.

Had a very enjoyable evening out. Both husband and myself had the daily special which was a pasta dish. very nice desert. reasonable prices and great selection on menu. Was offered a complimentary drink before paying the bill.Was surprised restaurant was quite empty only 6 customers while we were eating, maybe because it was a week night, or coming up to Christmas people are not going out so much. We will definitely return and are in fact booked for boxing day with a party of family and friends.

I went last Sunday for lunch. Its not the first time going there and having a lovely meal and portion sizes are very good and filling. Good service and lovely waiter and I would recommend and I would go back to eat there again.

Went for the second time for their lunchtime 3 course set menu at £12.95 (available on Fridays and Saturdays. Good choice of options including vegetarian and fish. I had a starter of whitebait followed by chicken breast in a delicious cream and mushroom sauce and a cheesecake with fruit coulis while my mum chose potato and cabbage soup, ravioli in a tomato sauce and Eton mess to finish with. All was delicious. Service was good. Just a shame it was so quiet. People don't realise what they are missing at lunchtime. Will definitely make a return visit before too long and hopefully bring a few friends.

We have walked past this restaurant a few times and thought we would like to give it a try. So we went there with friends. All the food ordered was well cooked and tasty. If I am going to be honest though, we waited far too long for our starters. Another fair wait then for the main meal which I did not mind this time, and it usually shows the food is being cooked fresh. Three meals were huge, but my duck breast was minuscule and I am pleased I ordered a side to fill me up. Also the duck was a little too sweet for me. The courgettes were tasty and lovely and hot. The other three meals looked huge compared to mine and the mixed kebab was plentiful. Only 4 desserts to choose from though and whilst nice, it was odd having trifle and apple pie and custard in a Mediterranean restaurant and not something like baklava. Having said all of the above, we would return.

My husband and I recently had a nice Saturday night dinner here. Portion sizes are very generous. Can recommend both lamb chops and sea bass fillets. Good service. Also nice to see that there is not a ridiculous mark up on wine like some nearby restaurants. Will return and recommend.

Yesterday was my first visit to Elbi's but it definitely will not be my last!!The quality of the food was fantastic and the presentation was beautiful. The portion sizes are very generous so you will not leave hungry.I had Seabass and I have to say that was one of the best I have ever tasted! Perfectly grilled crispy skin with melt in the mouth fish.Do try, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Went here on Saturday night for my friend's birthday and had a great time. The food is sooo good, the staff are great and nothing was too much trouble. They really made it special for us. Great atmosphere, very good price, looking forward to going again soon. Thank you to all the staff.

Unfortunately a change in staff (not owners) has changed the whole situation here. Service has deteriorated considerably. Would probably not go back.

Had a lovely experience in this Restaurant on Tuesday! The food was lovely, especially the spicy Squid starter, such lovely authentic Mediterranean food served by welcoming friendly staff and very reasonable prices. highly recommended!

Ate there last night, waited an hour for starters, then a further hour for our main course, only 2 people serving a full restaurant. Not good enough ruined our evening. The food was bland aswell. They did give a free drink and free sides but did not make up for ruined family event

Had lunch for the first time today at Elbi's. Chose a starter and main from the blackboard. Well i chose two starters really as I could not choose between them. The roasted pointed peppers stuffed with cheese and herbs were delicious and the Scallops with bacon, cheese and rocket salad were increased to a mains portion. Too full for a dessert. My friend had the peppers and a Dover Sole. They serve a two course set lunch for £12.95. I would definitely return.

We booked a table last night and wasn't disappointed . The goats cheese starter was amazing , my main of prawns and scallops was a little too rich for me however that's personal taste . My hubby had the mixed grill and that was really good. Only downside was they let themselves down with mass produced deserts rather than something special. Overall an excellent night with great service would def go back

Had a couple people tell us it was a bit slow . They weren't joking . Took 20 mins just to take a drink order , further 20 mins after asking twice to take food order we waited 40 mins still nothing. Asked what was happening,server never came back to us . So we decided to walk out . That's a hour and half of my life I will never get back

Went for an early Sunday lunch at 12.30, the restaurant was very quiet then but got quite busy later on.Popular with families with childrenOnly the set Sunday lunch menu was available but the choice was adequate, including vegetarian options.Whitebait starter and roast beef main were enjoyed but dessert choice was limited and stodgy.Restaurant is nicely laid out with linen tablecloths and napkins.Nice attentive service.

I booked Elbi's after visiting early evening on a Saturday a couple of weeks ago ...The food was delicious - a paella freshly made and to share. We were the only 2 people there at 6pm and before the Saturday evening crowds of diners. So impressed was I, a booking for 3 couples was made for last night.....What a disappointment! We waited an hour and a quarter for the first course and then a further 20 minutes for the main course all the while a football team were celebrating winning their league cup. Very loud but acceptable. Then as they vacated their table another crowd of lads replaced them, this time so loud and raucous many complaints were made by the other customers already eating. We witnessed many complaints about the service during this time too. The Manager apologised for the wait we had experienced for the food and said it was due to the large football team ??? He asked if we would like a complimentary drink and told us the bottle of wine we had ordered was to be discounted from the bill. Such a shame as the food is good. I really thought this would be a regular eating place for us.

My 2nd visit to this restaurant, the 1st time in January I only gave them 3 stars with average service. But I did say I would perhaps try again in the future. Well I have and this time it has, much improved, with the food and service very good,They seem to have changed the waiters in the last 2 months and the young man and young girl that served us on Thursday night were far more professional, which made it a very enjoyable evening for our group of 4.I would now recommend this restaurant and will return.

We decided to go to Elbi's which is within walking distance of home. We'd heard good things about it. It was a pleasant enough evening but nothing really to write home about about. The food was nice. The service was very slow. We weren't in a rush so it didn't matter to us. We might go again but probably for lunch rather than dinner.

Nice space and willing if amateurish service but the food simply isn't good enough to warrant a return visit. Shame as this area desperately needs good quality restaurants.

Three of us visited this restaurant for the first time last week. Had an early start at 7pm which was a good decision because by 7.45 it was so busy and we had the advantage of our order already taken. For starters we all had different, mussels, chicken and baked goats cheese. All large portions. Mains steak cooked exactly as requested, mixed meat grill and mixed fish platter. The portions were huge and we all struggled to get through our plates. If I could have managed a dessert the choice was not to my taste, and a cheese board would have been a nice addition. Even so one member of the party chose a tiramisu and again the portion was enormous and could have been halved. The food was excellent and the service was perfect. Will definitely return.

We arrived at Elbi's at 8 o/c we did not get our main meal until nearly 10 o/c !!! When we asked why our food was taking so long we were told problems in the kitchen.When we finally got our food two of us had ordered the veal which was very tough not enjoyable . We complained and they did take the price off the bill. Sorry Elbi's we will not be coming back was not an enjoyable evening waiters not very attentive and I left very hungry

A word of advice, make sure you know what you've ordered. Sounds silly but the Portobello mushrooms I order were tiny. When I asked why I was told they were mini portobellos. Really? My husband ordered the monkfish special but this turned out to be mussels with a bit of monkfish. The service was a bit of a let down as we had to ask for things more than once. Shame, as it could have been a lovely evening.

Excellent 3 course meal for 2 with wine and coffee for £66 . My swordfish was huge and superb. Waiter very attentive. Toilets were impeccable. Will definitely recommend and return!

Six ladies celebrating a birthday.There was a two course lunch menu which was quite varied. However I chose one course from the 'specials', a whole grilled fish, which was really huge, beautifully cooked and very tasty. For a lunch time the restaurant was well attended and had a relaxed atmosphere. Several of my friends have eaten there a few times. The staff were efficient and friendly and it's reasonably priced. Yes I recommend trying Elbi's.

This a welcome addition to the many restaurants in Upminster. The website says it is a family run restaurant and we certainly had an evening where we felt entirely 'at home'. The staff are extemely polite, from the telephone booking to the evening itself. The food was beautifully presented and delicious, the prices were reasonable and the service excellent. We will visit again soon.

Viisted for my wifes birthday. Thought we would try a local restaurant to us, we live in Cranham. Good food, staff were excellent, very attentive without going overboard. They bought a dessert out with Happy Birthday on it, which was free along with a free after dinner drink each. Would recommend it and I look forward to going back. Thanks to everyone concerned.

Had a lovely meal here. I had the stuffed chicken, it was massive and very tasty. Been here before and had the Seafood linguine which was fantastic.Our waitress was very attentive even though there was a large party in the restaurant our service and meal was not disrupted at all. Very reasonably priced too.

Called in for Sunday lunch about 2.00pm, about half full....by 4.00pm the place was heaving...........I could see why.They have a usual Sunday lunch offer, daily specials board and an a la carte menu.From what I observed, meals were served promptly, with generous proportions,not much was left so fair to assume that there was little to complain about.There was a good mix of couples and family groups and a very pleasant atmosphere.Staff were welcoming and efficient, a very good addition to the Upminster restaurant scene.Finally, my usual carp ! The interior was very white and needs an injection of colour to give it some character.

Atmosphere good and busy but not too loud. The service was brilliant, very attentive especially as they had a table of 30 in at the same time. The food was incredible, not just taste but portion sizes. Finally, really fairly priced for the quality! Highly recommend!

First visit to this relatively new restaurant and wasn't disappointed Good background music not too loud so you couldn't hear conversations Efficient service and good choice of wines with peroni on tap! Only criticism would be the bread which could have been better than a plain white baguette cut up and served with oils which we had to ask for .

VIsited ElbI's restaurant for the first time last week to celebrate our sons birthday. We had three courses and they were all delicious. The service was good, the staff polite and there was a great atmosphere.We will definately return,the nicest meal we have had in ages and a pleasant change from the many Indian and Chinese restaurants we have in Upminster.

We visited elbi's on Saturday night with a large group of people, the atmosphere was great. Staff were friendly. We all had starters, mains and dessert which tasted as good as it looked. I would 100% recommend and can't wait to return.

Mum and I decided to have lunch here today, great value menu £12.95, nice clean looking restaurant and a very friendly waiter, Thats all the positives. The lunch menu is set, 5 or 6 starters & Main course choices and then the waiter will tell you what is available for dessert. The food was very poor, from the starters we choose to dessert. My mum struggled to eat her main course, hard vegetables burnt potatoes, the dessert was frozen berries, large frozen rock hard strawberries with condensed milk very strange. Not a restaurant I would recommend or return to. I appreciate its only £12.95 ahead but the food quality and presentation is very poor.
