Lovely staff, on the pricy side- £10 for a cocktail 🍸 £20 for the dish I have.

Absolutely some of the most tasty Mexican food I've tried in the UK! I stuffed myself as it was so nice will definitely come here again!

3rd time lucky it wasn't Eaten in once and felt like an inconvenience to them. Was told because I hadn't booked we could only have the table if we guaranteed them we'd be done in an hour. The restaurant was half empty when we arrived and was still half empty when we left. We really enjoyed the food though so have now twice tried ordering takeaway from their website. On both occasions we received confirmation of our order and a second email confirming they'd accepted it with a time given to collect. On both occasions we've headed to the restaurant only to be greeted with a 'we're not doing takeaway' welcome and on checking my email found a rejected order message. Not much use when in the car on the way. Both times they've made us feel it was our fault but have graciously offered to cook our order if we hang around for 30 minutes. No apologies, no gesture of goodwill, just told they'd be very kind and cook our order if we waited. Such a disappointment as the food is pretty good. Won't be trying for a 4th time

Great to get mexican food in England!

We had a great time, the waitress was amazing so was the food! It was a Monday night but the atmosphere was great. We were so pleased to have found this place.

We were very pleasantly surprised and impressed by this place. Easy to get to, quick walk from the Car Park, incredible food and wonderful service. The staff was very nice, the restaurant was really clean (biggest one for me) and the food came out quick, hot and was fresh. We will be coming back soon.

I really enjoyed me and my husbands paella that we order every time we come to this establishment, however out of the three times we have gone, I have gotten sick twice. The first time I was pregnant and new to the country and assumed those could’ve factored into my body not liking the food i ate. I ate there again about 6 months ago, and it was delicious with no issues. However I ate there again on Friday, and loved it but later that night, I was violently sick with food poisoning. My husband was fine and we ate the same things so I assumed it was a me problem, however now he has the same symptoms as I do and is bed ridden from the food he ate at El Guaca. Please wash your hands and prepare your food more safely. I will not be coming back. Edit to add: my son is now having issues and all he had was a kids quesadilla. It is not just me and I haven’t gotten sick from the paella every time.

Myself and my partner had food there this evening. All food was delicious! We shared the bean chilli cheese fries, they were AMAZING! My partner had a Mexican burger wrap which he loved and I had a quorn chicken burrito, also delicious. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Would definitely come back :)

Love this restaurant. Second time to eat with my family. Always love the food, and with good size of serving. The lady front of the house is nice and always entertains our baby. Always a go to in Newmarket everytime we crave for Mexican food.

Fantastic atmosphere and great food

Another great visit to El Guaca in Newmarket. We had prebooked and we’re looking forward to it. We only ordered a drink and a main course each as the portions are very generous. We had ribs and prawn fajitas. The ribs were amazing. There was a slight issue with the fajitas which I mentioned when they arrived. Have only given 4/5 this time as had to mention the issue again when the bill came. The issue was fully resolved at this point. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant. Great fun atmosphere, lovely staff and amazing Mexican food.

Went out for a family meal for my daughter's birthday. As my daughter has coeliac disease we usually struggle to find restaurants with a good menu selection, but El Guaca had a great selection and it was all marled on the menu. We had a lovely meal the food was delicious and the service was really fast. We will definitely be back soon.

Absolutely delicious food, and very attentive and friendly staff without being over the top. Husband had the beef burrito and I had peri peri quorn fajitas. Treated myself to coffee and mini dessert of churros, which were beautifully fresh and light. Plenty of choices for vegans as well as vegetarians and omnivores. Definitely recommend it to anyone who likes a bit of spicy food, we will visit again.

Having lived in Texas for several years it is hard to find Mexican food that lives up to the highest standards. This is one of the better ones I have come across in the UK. The staff are very friendly and the Margareta and beer pretty good too.

We loved this little gem. The tacos were a perfect size for our 12 year old, and the 2 portions of nachos starter were enough for us 3. Good service and very authentic. There’s lots of restaurants in Newmarket but I think we’d probably come here again when visiting.

Fabulous food. Reasonably priced. We had the taco salad with steak. Very delicious. Very friendly and ccommodating staff. I have a hearing g difficulty. They let me choose my seat and adjusted the music so I could hear. Would 100% return! ❤

Negatives: - Beware the staff are trained to rack up the bill. They will £2.5 small or £4 large bottles of bottled water instead of tap, and “offer” nachos and guac to start which is actually £6 - There were a lot of noisy children, which did not make having an adult meal enjoyable - does not have own parking, so you’ll have to fork out an extra £4-£6 there Positives: - The food gets 5 stars from me! Was lovely - The venue itself is really nice, toilets clean etc

Really nice friendly and helpful staff. The food is just awesome. Considering we was staying down the rd at the best western for a friend’s wedding we was very lucky to find this little gem.

We came with a friend to try the Mexican. We shared Nachos which were tasty but small for the price. They made up for this with the steak Fajitas which were tasty and they gave us extra shells and toppings. All together we had enough for 7 shells with some left over. Service was friendly and helpful.

Please open in Norwich/north Norfolk. We drove all the way to Colchester to try this place out with 2 veggies, 1 vegan and a carnivore on board. Absolutely worth it because the food was sublime. So sad to see the Colchester restaurant is now closed but am hoping the chain goes from strength to strength elsewhere and look to move into Norfolk, north ideally 😬! Love this place. It’s our third time visiting. Food is great, really tasty and lots of gluten free options. Atmosphere is good and the restaurant is colourful and has lots of fab wall art and ornaments etc. Cole was looking after us tonight, he was great, polite and friendly and helpful. Tasty food and good selection. Nice that they have a kids' menu and that a few of the options are Mexican not just the usual burger and chips. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. It was busy when we visited even though we arrived on the earlier side of the evening. We were a bit disappointed that the website prices aren't up to date! Most have gone up noticeably. Would visit again though.

Went here for dinner without booking in advance and they managed to find us a table. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and friendly. Also there was a lovely atmosphere. Everyone looked liked they were enjoying themselves. Extensive menu and diet specialities catered for. Will definitely go again.

Wonderful service and the food was delicious. I ate from the vegan menu, and my Grandsons (2 yrs old ) food allergy was catered for. Extensive menu to choice from including the vegan one, which I was pleased about. Would highly recommend a visit. No pictures as the food was too delicious we just tucked in.

We went to El GUACA last night for a family meal. There was a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant, the food was really good and we were really well looked after by Lisa. Thoroughly recommended.

The starter of soft shell tacos were inedible. Like they hadn't been cooked. The chimichangas didn't seem to have been deep fried and we're flabby. The chilli inside was like dog food. Wont be returning

My wife and I came with our baby and the staff was very helpful and friendly as soon as we stepped in! First thing, Appetizers; •Tortilla Chips & Queso: Chips were amazing, but the Queso was too stringy (I know, Cheese, TOO stringy?!?) You gotta play with the dip for a little bit with every chip, taste wise it was Good. (4/5) •Southwest Spring Rolls: These hit it the nail on the head, the only downside is that there's only 2! I could eat on these all day, soft and delicious, best appetizer I've had so far! (5/5) Second thing, Main Course; •Chimichanga (Chipotle Spicy Chicken): Heads up, both main dishes were amazing, with that... Chimichanga being deep-fried added a savory/sweet taste to an already mouth watering savory chicken, wasn't spicy so no worries there if you don't like spicy food. (5/5) •Mex Burger: Chili... on a burger... Doesn't get better than that I promise, each bite is bursting with flavor and boy does it fill you up! This hunk of beef if wrapped in a tortilla, not a bunch, and that means it's way easier to eat and you're not overwhelmed by Bread! Once again, they throw in poblano peppers and yet there's NO spice, I'm fine with that, it was absolutely delicious, but don't expect heat! (6/5 Yeah, I'm keeping that score.) Third, and finally, Dessert; •Bunuelos: Deep-Fried balls of dough covered in cinnamon sugar, yeah, sounds great, huh? Well they are, and surprisingly you get a good amount of these things, you also get 2 Dips, chocolate and caramel (Dulce de Leche) they're super straight forward, dip 'em and eat 'em. The simplest thing to say is, if you love doughnuts, grab some of these. (5/5) •Eaton's Honeycomb Cheesecake: The worst thing I ordered, BUT... That's okay, I expected a lot from this, heck I expected an actual honeycomb on the Cheese cake (maybe it did have honeycomb on top, definitely did not notice!) Overall for a cheesecake it was very mediocre, it passed the dessert STANDARDS, but it didn't "Wow!" me, if you want subtle, this is perfect, but if you want something mouthwatering, order something else. In my opinion of this cheesecake, and by no means am I a professional cheesecake connoisseur, my main tastes were white chocolate, fudge drizzle, cheesecake. That's it. Order drinks as well: Pina Colada, Caipirinha, and an Amigos beer. Pina Colada: Super sweet and frothy Caipirinha (Strawberry): Not a lot of flavor as I had hoped, would skip. Amigos: Simple, easy, smooth, tasty (for a beer.) Definitely give this place a try, I loved trying these foods and will definitely go back!

Mexican food? Eh. I shouldn't expect too much being from New Mexico, so how could it compare? But the rice tasted exactly like uncle Ben's microwave rice. 5£ for guac and chips (that seemed to be from a bag) and my corn tortillas on my fish tacos we're not cooked. Maybe they don't know that corn tortillas come 'raw'? It wasn't terrible if you've never had Mexican food, but I wouldn't call it Mexican and probably won't be returning as the price was crazy for the portion sizes. Also paid 9£ for a patron margarita, wasn't told it came frozen and it was maybe HALF of a small glass. Gave 2 stars cuz service was alright and the guac was decent.

Reading other reviews it would seem that this is either very good or very poor on the experience levels and also on food. Sad to say my experience was disappointing to say the least. In my opinion I think the food is over rated and over priced for what you get. Poor quality and very forgettable. Topped off with rude unhelpful staff.Definitely would not rush back.

Awesome! A must try! We sat in the rear garden on a hot day and honestly felt like we were on holiday, started with some cocktails then food. Enchiladas were epic and chilli chest fries in a skillet to share. Mexican Paella was delicious. Can't wait to come back, I saw there is one in Colchester too which I'll check out! Update We've been back a few times since and it doesn't dissapoint, worth the drive from Ipswich. We always get a warm welcome. Last visit the manager/owner gave us a shot of Don Julio on the house which was a nice touch

I asked for no salsa on the enchilada and they refused, I asked for queso instead and they refused again. The tortilla chips tasted like cardboard and the queso was just melted jack cheese with cilantro. The burrito was very underwhelming. The quesadilla was okay. The service was awful, our server almost never came to our table and purposely ignored us as she conversed with the kitchen staff.

Pretty good overall. Nice size menu and mostly Mexican in theme. Nachos were A+, main was probably a B. I would go back and try some of the other dishes for sure. Gotta say, the draft beer prices are a bit high tho. Good size drinks menu.
