This used to be one of the best chippys around but since its had new owners the quality has nose dived! The fish is not as good, greasy and dry inside. The chips are soggy and greasy. Very disappointed.

Great menu if you have vegi's, vegans and meat eaters in the family. Also good selection of drinks.

Quite small and cramped, no real tables for 3 and not allowed to use 2 tables (ie a table of 4). Coffee was ok, hot and tasty but no sugar free syrups (also charging 55p for oat/soya milk I don't think is fair). Kids cheese on toast (glad I didn't go with the smaller of the 2 kids options)- it wasn't even one slice of bread, it was 3/4 of a slice, tasted ok but still really poor considering the price. No squash for kids, charging £2.50 for a small carton of juice!! Overall, I definitely wouldn't return given I paid nearly £18 for hardly anything I know I can get my moneys worth in several better coffee shops in the area.

Had a wonderful lunch there! Great home cooked food in a traditional atmosphere. Highly recommended, if you’re ever in Neath

Stuck a pin in a map randomly and found this place, the village also being the birthplace of Richard Burton. My wife and I went for Sunday lunch expecting to turn up without a reservation - wrong, the place has heaving, but we were able to eat in the Bar, which was also fine. All the staff were extremely friendly and very helpful, kind and welcoming. We ordered the Sunday Roast, one beef, one turkey. The food was excellent, with very generous portions and piping hot. The meal reminded me at least of the Sunday lunches my Grandpa Ossie used to make for me and my cousins nearly 60 years ago - he was from Cwmavon, only a few miles away from the Colliers, so am guessing he would have frequented it from time to time in the past too. What a gem of a place and one we will definitely be returning too...and will be bringing the rest of the family next time....and will book in advance.!
