Efes in Bournemouth

Have been ordering from here quite a while but recently it has done down hill, not sure what’s happening. I place an order for takeaway, clearly shows in my order that i don’t want coleslaw in my wrap as i didn’t choose it. I received my order and what do i find? coleslaw. I decided to call them and explained what happened, then proceeded to tell them i have an allergy to cabbage (which is found in coleslaw) and i’m happy to give them back this wrap for one without coleslaw. He told me i’d have to pay for new one plus delivery, because it’s my mistake as on the receipt it shows coleslaw. I told him i’m looking at my receipt and it doesn’t show that, he said he’ll send me the receipt by whatsapp to show me my mistake to which i happily agreed and said i’ll show him what it says for me, he then ignored it and said it was my mistake etc. kept speaking to me in a condescending way. I wasn’t going to leave a bad review hence why i called to let them fix the mistake, but because they were rude and far from helpful, i’ve decided to leave this review to make others aware. Good i checked before eating otherwise this could’ve ended badly for me. Sadly was left without food for myself, although i paid.

Always been my favourite place, but unfortunately the last few times seems they must have cut back as portion size has shrunk !!

Usually it’s good in here don’t know what happened this last couple of weeks , asked for pitta with hummus, cheese and salad but got a pitta with cucumber , onion and about 3 inches deep of hummus , no cheese no tomato, sorry guys but this was naff

The most delicious kebab in town but veeery small. So if u are really hungry then order 2 kebab or choice another shop.

Best kebab in Boscombe, the pitta is always cooked fresh. Try with mint sauce. Also, the pizzas are amazing, there is seating and very good table service - lovely 😍 😋 👌

Ordered pizza from here and it was like chewing cardboard. The texture was a mix of hard and chewy, the pizza felt like it hard been cooked, frozen then reheated, the cheese wasn't melted and the pizza base was hard. normally I'd get a kebab from here as it's pretty decent and the best I've had in Bournemouth thus far but judging by the state of pizza I'm not sure I will order from here again.

Got order today (weds) The order came very quick but totally mixed up the toppings and sauces (mint yogurt rather than garlic mayo, chillis on order that shouldn't have) and meat not very hot. Chips and cheese good and hot as per normal but again wrong sauce. Restaurant wouldn't pick up phone and when I eventually got threw was immediately defensive "it's the young team on" Has always been great in shop but would not recommend ordering online.

I have had 9 orders from them in Kebabs and every single one was good. Tonight xmas eve delivered fresh salad on it and nice fresh meat very nice. Thats why i keep ordering as it is high quality kebab the best i have ever tasted in Bournemouth and everyone should try them. Fast delivery as well better than any Mc Donnelds i have had deliverd.

Absolutely disgusting service, food was over two hours late, I rang up the first time and was told it is on the way and when I rang up again half an hour later, I could actually hear them laughing about it. They then lied and said that the order had only just come through while I called them on the phone, the food then arrived and was cold. I was a fairly regular customer but will never order again.

I rarely ever review places because most stuff is mediocre. However, the quality of this kebab is amazing, the delivery came in less than 10 minutes and the staff is very pleasant including the driver too! I'm definitely gonna keep this as my top kebab place in Bournemouth :)

For some reason my food was cold and no one helped me and it’s so noisy I can’t sit and eat quietly

Was really tasty .Just my only complaint was they had no tomatoes 🍅 for the salad as they normally had and gave me a small portion of chips. Which I had paid £2-50 for otherwise great 👍 With a really rude employee asking me to make it myself if I wanted to after paying . Not the best I have had from this take away before too . In all honesty too. Then making the chips after the kebab . When I wanted everything together too giving me the left over fries 🍟

I ordered a chicken wrap, plus a mushroom, cheese burger. The chicken was of inferior quality, all the rough cuts of chicken, gristle and fat. I threw it away, for £7, I was ripped off! The mushroom/cheese burger turned out to be a cheese burger. There were no mushrooms, which i paid for!? I will never go there again!!

Absolutely awesome as usual , highly recommend the ribs , scampi and chicken burger , great fast delivery service , arriving piping hot. Cannot fault this takeaway at all

Best doner ever! Not greasy like a lot of places. Must try the others too. They make their own breads too which is a complete game changer! Been 3 times, just perfect. They definitely go the extra mile!

Finished a late shift and starting 6 week fitness plan tomorrow so thought I’d treat myself to some nice food. First order came and was lovely, portion on the chicken Shish was pisspoor but did taste wonderful so bit the bullet and ordered some more. Second order came and this is where I became furious as I opened the bag and nothing we ordered was anywhere near what was in the bag, however confusing considering the driver asked for the exact amount £ of my proper order. Tried calling up to see what was going on to have the phone put down and then allowed to ring through continuously, this is where I had to eat food I didn’t like hence I didn’t order it . Fuming is an understatement and I’ll never order from this place again!!

Scam company paid for the food and saying they can give us the food for half price Tommorow not worth the effort of speaking

They make the best kebabs in town. Food smells good, tastes fantastic and portions are always right on the spot. I have been ordering from them for few years now and the service is always 5 stars. I had never had any problems

What a find ! Fantastic food cooked over charcoal and freshly made bread what’s not to like . Great service and food presented really well.

I would recommend the shish kebab here; they use a genuine coal fire pit to cook meat which improves the flavour

They make their own breads - these are amazing. Everything's grilled over a proper charcoal pit. If you choose to eat in, you can sit around it if you like. Great atmosphere and grub. Highly recommend.

They must have changed hands. The chap serving me took the kebab meat out of the food bin and put it on the griddle. He must know what he is doing. Wrong!! Got the takeaway home and had the most dry and hard kebab I have had in over 50 years. Note to server. Carve meat fresh off the spit.

Love this place, the food is always fantastic.

Medium kabab 5 small pieces of chicken cold, the bread was olily and cold. Coleslaw was just carrots and cabbage. No flavor. Very dry and freezing cold. Really disappointed.

Still the best kebab around! Great bread and no price change, although size seems to have diminished somewhat. I want another, now!

Walked in and expected a usual kebab experience. This was something different entirley. Sat down, knife and fork at the ready, napkin on lap, wood fire in front of me keeping me warm whilst I watch my chicken being chargrilled on the coal. Great experience, lovely table service, the waiters making sure everything was okay, lovely service. Would definitely recommend for any time of the day, mouth watering food that just hits the spot. Lovely little location aswell by horseshoe Common, I like to get the food as a takeaway sometimes and eat at the common for a picnic with my mate froch. A must if your visiting Bournemouth or Dorset for that matter, cheers efes!

Food was terrible. We paid £7.00 for a chicken shish. I had 6 tiny pieces of very dry chicken. It was awful.

Food excellent and service also. It was a shame that the restaurant it was a little bit dated and facilities weren't very inviting however clean

Kebabs here are not bad but positive we've been overcharged on more than one occasion and think they take advantage of people that have been drinking. Definitely check the amount before you pay!

This place used to be AMAZING I would go as far to say they did the best kebabs in Bournemouth. However the last few years as they’ve been getting busy the quality has massively gone down hill. Salad is always brown and slimy and chicken is either over cooked or like last night has a bad smell to it. The bread is no longer the same and is raw/doughy instead of crispy and melt in the mouth like it used to be, such a shame!

I love the huge fresh salad you get with the grilled meats. Dining-in is quite different, food wise, from the take away experience. It's somewhere I'd go back to.

Terrible, disgusting customer service!!!! After they got my order wrong!!! They had the nerve to argue back!!! Instead of correcting their mistake!!! These two men are shouting over the counter!! Like he said I don’t care!!! Disgusting and VILE dogs. Any normal company would try and sort out conflict, pacify, but the treatment and embarrassment I got after spending my hard earned pounds.. i will discourage anyone I know to stay away from that circus!! VILE AND TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Waited for about 35 mins for our kehab. The people in front off us were let in front of us because they demanded prime ribs. No professionalism at all. SERIOUSLY get it together.

I eat here once or twice a week, it is an incredible restaurant with delicious food and friendly staff. Everyone I've taken here loves it.

After previously getting a take away kebab and being so very impressed with quality and taste, we ate in today. We had Efes Grill Feast for 2 and it was so very tasty. Great quality meat, cooked to perfection. Perfect amount of salad and the naan bread is just the best. Highly recommend this place to those who have high standards with food and service. Feast for 2 included: One Skewer of Lamb Shish One Skewer of Chicken Shish One Skewer of Lamb Kofte Mixed Lamb Doner and Chicken Doner With Two Naan Bread, Salad 2 Cans of soft drink.

We had one mixed doner, 2 cans of coke and a side chips and they made us pay 22 pounds. An insult that is. Even London would have been much cheaper.

If one needs a kebab, efes is the place. Consistently delicious, meats are nicely spiced, breads are the bomb. They do it properly unlike many others. A1

First time coming here and no regrets Had the chicken Shish Kebab and it was probably the best I've ever had. Freshly cooked tender and nice marinade. Also had the Lamb Ribs, they were not overly meaty but very nice Freshly made bread. Note: The Salads and Chilli are a bit diffrent from your usual but still enjoyable Look forward to enjoy other items from the menu in futire visits Not sure about the other reviews. Must have come on a good day, the owner seems to take pride in his business

Food was okay, However the guy over charged blatantly on the burger meals £8 each like buying the items individually would’ve cost £7, I couldn’t bother arguing with the guy as he was getting annoyed when I questioned him! Service was dreadful considering your dealing with customers you should be more pleasant. Overall not a great place and really need to be better when in a forward facing role, manners doesn’t cost a thing! If the owner reads this I suggest that overcharged money you should place in charity at the least!!!

We're not overreacting when we say it's the best doner kebab in town! Portions are enormous, definitely best value for the money! The Staff is very friendly as well, so we've been coming back many times now 🙂

As always brilliant food and service. Today we had mixed lamb doner and chicken shish and chicken doner and chicken shish. Both super tasty. Watched them preparing some salads which looked amazing too. Will be trying them next time.

Chicken doner was mostly skin, naan bread was an inedible crisp of hardness. No idea what the Chilli `Sauce` was supposed to be but there was certainly no sauce involved, more like dry bits of chopped up carrot and chillis. Even the Lamb doner was the cheap stuff. Chips were rubbish as well. Al in all the worst £11.50 I ever spent in a kebab shop.

this is one of the most miserable meats. if you look closely at the chick you will see that it is full of remaining feathers that have not been properly plucked.🤮🤢🤮🤢🤮 Sheet meat with condiments!

This food is to lowest quality along with there service. I wouldnt let my dogs eat it the portions are awful and the staff are even worse.

Foods above average, order a few times from here but always get the order wrong, no salad on kebab twice, 4 missing cans of coke over the same amount of orders and a missing nan bread from last order a few days ago. Mentioned to delivery driver about this but never even got a sorry. It's only £6-£7 I lost out on and I always tip the driver. Shame but I imagine this happens to many people. No more Efes for me. It is a busy resturant because boscombe people dont have much choices around. But the staff is absolut rude. Not listening to customers. And if you try to order on phone. It is the most difficult part. Dont let you complete what you want to say . They think we dont know how to order on phone. Not at all hygenic. I would say zero in hygeine. I have proof of that. It is the main entrance of the shop. Atleast they could clean the front.

Very disappointed as I ordered chicken and got lamb when I got home. Meat and wrap was cold. Seemed like they were too busy with deliveries that never had time for face to face customer. Never complained before as usually ok here but will think about going back in future

Update* Most recent order was absolutely sub par, refrain from ordering on a weekend evening I guess. Mixed chicken shish and donner was dry, chilli sauce wasn't the same as before and the ratio of chicken to lamb was shocking. Naan bread was also dry and not as usual. Perfect food every time, amazing fresh bread that comes with the kebab! Shish chicken and lamb always great quality and quantity. Chilli sauce that they do is amazing. An absolute place to order from or go to.

Ordered large chicken & donner kebabs. Arrived very quick. Advised they wouldn't be able to our address again, despite ordering from the website and was able to order. Asked for chilli sauce, kebabs had vegetables chopped which had been prepared in a food processor with fresh chilli, not a sauce. Without a proper sauce the kebab was very dry. Bread was freshly made but was very greasy from the donner meat. There's lots of salad and not much meat. Probably one of the worst kebabs I've eaten.

the food was delicious, meat well cooked and the garlic sauce was good. the bread was promising at first but it becomes too crunchy to put anything in it as soon as it cools down a bit. my main concern was cleanliness of the place based on what I saw in store, they need to be more considerate and careful about it.

Food is good, but hygiene is questionable. No hygiene at all. Dropped take away box in the bin, and behind and he took it and filled food in it. Dropped spatula on the floor and put it back on food Overall hygiene is questionable but food is ok
