Enjoyed such lovely food tonight at Edo. Clever concept, you order a few dishes and sharing plates are brought to the table when they are ready. This keeps the experience interesting as you are always faced with a new (and delicious!) taste. Cocktails were gorgeous too. A special thank you to our server Gavin S. He was friendly, attentive without being intrusive, enthusiastic about making recommendations, and when I explained we were there for my husband's birthday, he organised for a candle to be added to my husband's dessert which was such a nice touch and so very much appreciated. Thank you Gavin - you made a lovely night extra special.

What a meal, one to never forget! Everything I got was impeccable. From the burrata to the langoustine ceviche. A favourite? All of em. I would actually compare the quality and style of cuisine to one of my favourite restaurants back home- Ox and Finch in Glasgow Please open a branch in Scotland, I will be the first at your door! I feel like I got an extra special delivery as I was solo and right in front of the chefs. Recommend doing this!

This was our 1st time visiting the restaurant and given it mitchelin rating we were expecting exciting food. We had 4 tapas meals and a bottle of wine between the 2 of us costing £52 . The food was ok, leaving me questioning their rating. The tables are very close together and the table for 2 was very small so we had difficulty finding room for our 4 dishes and drinks. We asked the waiter what he would recommend and was met with a limited response. We were then served dish we did not order, which on pointing this out was then removed as apparently it was for another table. It was a pleasant experience, but given the price of the small dishes I am not sure it is good value for money.

The best tasting food i have had in Belfast. Highly recommend the pork belly and the brisket croquettes. I would suggest between 2 getting 6 plates so can work out to be quite expensive but asbolutely worth it.

Absolutely fabulous experience! Went for dinner, got a bottle of the Salidini Falerio (stunning wine btw) and a couple cocktails with lots of small plates. Faves were the guanciale pork belly (YUM) and the gnocchi. Service was super as well — clear the staff were paying attention without being overbearing. Would give it 10 stars if I could! Atmosphere was amazing! Getting to watch the chefs work while grazing on delicious small plates 😍😍 Only tiny little gripe is that the monkfish from the paella was a tad overcooked but absolutely did not overshadow the amazingness of the rest of the food and experience!

Can't comment on food as I didn't stay long enough to eat! Came as a walk in for one earlier this evening, was quickly seated at "the pass", which is essentially a high ledge facing the kitchen - noisy, hot and busy with all the diners behind you. The pass is very high with too low seating and for a shorter person (5ft 2in) I could barely reach and definitely not to comfortably eat. My elbows would have been sky high. I asked to be reseated at a table, only to be told they could only seat me for an hour, despite several tables being free. When I asked how quickly food came out to see if an hour would be enough, the waiter just shrugged! I gave up!! EDOs loss is Jumons gain!

Travelling through Belfast on holiday from Toronto, Canada and we came across this restaurant!!! What can I say? Awesome! We had padron peppers, ham croquettes, paella with monk fish langoustine (TWICE, ordered for 2nd portions) and suckling pig and finished off with Churros. That’s after we had our starters of oysters and squid with aperitif at different restaurant just before! All are Well executed and lovingly prepared. You feel welcoming and very friendly service. We’d go there everyday and any time of the day. Thank you so much. Just a small note, suckling pig is too well cooked, a bit unreally tender, it’s just my liking. Monk fish and Langoustine in paella is Devine.

The restaurant had open tables on a Saturday night for a reason. Requested to sit at the kitchen counter, however the lack of magic to witness was uninspiring. The kitchen was cluttered, and the chefs even more so. Dirty shirts, dirty aprons, and pants barely staying up high enough. Disheveled best describes. The kitchen porters appeared better kept. My dining companion is a vegetarian and though we appreciate they recognized the dietary restriction, the options are as underwhelming as the rest of the food to come. We ordered sourdough and olive oil as well as Pan con Tomate. Our mistake for ordering basically the same thing, however it would have been a nice gesture from the waitress to have double checked and asked when we placed our order. Potato Gnocchi - don’t call it gnocchi if it’s going to be potato fondant. Really disappointing, though appreciation to the effort taken to plate it nicely. Pil Pil spice prawns and a the Bertha smoker hanger steak were both ok. Nothing bad, nothing to write home about. Chips however, those were not cooked well. Soggy to the point of unenjoyable. The Pastry Chef and the dessert might be the one saving grace. He was clean and well kept. The Churros followed suit. The appearance of the Chefs is an appropriate reflection to the quality of food.

The food in Edo is incredible and worthy of Dublin or London. Lots of small plates of delicious food in a well-thought out menu that changes every few months (keeping a few regulars). Meats are cooked on the grill and there are plenty of vegetarian options. Recent favourites are Langoustine Fritters, Fermented Chilli Glazed Chicken Wings, Braised Beef Cheek, Chilli & Fennel Meatballs, Chips w/ wild garlic aioli, Potatas Bravas and Padron Peppers. Good wine list too with some good Rioja. The room is luxurious with jewel colours and velvet chairs. It’s quite casual. It’s very buzzy and can get quite noisy. The kitchen is open to the room. If you haven’t been I’d recommend you try it. Belfast is lucky to have a place like this.

Soso disappointed with EDO heard such good things! First off the noise of this place is crazy, Service was amazing our waiter really did make it better! The food though was honestly bland, the patatas bravas were nothing special I didn’t even finish them hard in the centre, the cauliflower was minging so hard and just had some paprika rubbed on it? And the artichoke was disgusting I was so excited but it was bland. My friend liked the mussels and calamari so could just be the veggie options!

First of all, we went with high expectations because it was a restaurant on the Michelin list. However, we found the taste of the food, the atmosphere of the place and the attitudes of the employees to be average or below average. Besides the criticisms, we loved the truffle potato croquettes and dessert. We definitely recommend those who visit to try these two but we think the price is not good in terms of performance. For those who are interested, we have listed detailed comments about the food, atmosphere and other topics below. Atmosphere: Considering the capacity of the place, there were more tables than there should have been. This caused us to become very close to the people at the next table. In addition, for this reason, the waiters had difficulty in serving and they frequently hit our chairs, causing discomfort. The place was very noisy in general. Food: There was generally a lack of taste in the food, for example, when eating paella, there was no desired taste. The mussels were very small. We loved the Potato & Truffle Croquettes and ordered them twice. The desserts were also very nice. We also loved the orange, almond & Olive Oil Sponge & Cinnamon Ice Cream and Chilled Chocolate Fondant & Salted Caramel and think they should be tried when you visit. Tortilla de Patatas, pommes pont neuf, truffle & parmesan were not very good. It can be said that there is an average taste range on average. Service: The employees tried to show as much attention as they could. But in our opinion, we sometimes had difficulty expressing some of our requests because they were insufficient in number. Other than that, we agree that they do their best in everything they care about.

All the tapas I had at Edo were absolutely amazing, bursting with flavour. Plenty of options for vegetarians and pescatarians. The only downfall on the food side were the churros I had for dessert, they were heavy on the sugar (that stuck to the fat on the churros), extremely heavy even after shaking the sugar off. The other negative thing was the atmosphere, the place was extremely noisy on a Friday night and I had to shout to be able to speak.

Our server honestly kind of sucked. We asked for recommendations and his reply was oh yeah pretty much everything is good, there's no favorites. It was just hard to get suggestions from him which was quite annoying. The dinner itself was just okay. The gnocchi was good, the ceviche was decent, other dishes were not to really be mentioned. I would avoid this place. Experience was absolutely terrible. My regret was I didn’t get out sooner. We ordered quite a few plates. Some they refused to honour which was fine but then came the order of the chicken wings which when I cut into was streaming with blood. I called the attention of the waitress who took the plate swiftly to the kitchen and returned a min later to tell me chef said it’s cooked. I politely asked her if she was sure of the look of it at which point she took the plate away only to return to tell me not to pay for it and forget it. I have been to a lot of high end restaurants and this if I had to score their level of service and attention they would be scored minus. All in all avoid this place.

I booked Edō as soon as I knew we were going to Belfast as I wanted somewhere special for my wifes birthday and the fact its in the Michelin Guide also helped! Due to demand the only time we could get on a Saturday was 21:15 which was good for us, but booking well in advance is a must! We were both extremely impressed with the quality of the food and the generous portions. I would particularly recommend the Langoustine Fritters. We ordered 5 plates between us which was more than enough, and a glass of wine each. Which came in at £76, you don't get better than that for food and service at this standard. Loved it.

Food was all of a high standard and the format was tapas, but on a delivery when ready basis. This meant that despite ordering five separate plates, they arrived over 40 minutes. Some plates would have really benefitted from being delivered at the same time as others. The potato was excellent, and would have been lovely with the pork, which arrived 10 minutes later, for example. So overall, great food, which would be even better together. And just to say, the orange, almond and olive oil sponge with cinnamon ice cream was exceptional.

Hard to rate as the food wad quite poor. All of the savoury dishes were under seasoned or under cooked .. roasted Leaks were bland, the beef hanger under seasoned, no chimichuri served and under seasoned. . The least favourite was the tortilla; inedible- raw potato raw onion.. pure liquid ran out of it .. that was shocking. Having lived in Spain and tasted many tortillas and made many more, that was a poor dish. The ceviche was agiain under seasoned and over powered by onion.. the food to this point was poor at best, however the orange and olive oil cake was excellent- worth coming just for that … Service was fine but the place was chaotic and this ment the atmosphere was lacking… the kitchen was overwhelmed and they produced average food at high cost. Maybe it was as poor night but our experience was a 2.5/5

What a great restaurant in the centre of Belfast! Food was excellent - tasty, well presented and served with love. After reading so many good things about this restaurant our experience was a bit delusional. The sangria was very sweet like if there is some sorta of flavoured syrup in it so don’t expect the taste of the original. My girlfriend liked it I didn’t so that up to your taste. We only had 3 plates: langoustine croquette, paella and paratas bravas. I can’t generalise on food since we only had three but I can give you my feedback on what we had. Speaking for the croquettes, I didn’t like the texture inside that was kind of pâté like I would have preferred something less blended, too salty too. Paella was very salty as well and the mussels were tastless. The patatas bravas were good, crunchy, well cooked but nothing special as many claim and not made following the original recipe. If you expect traditional Spanish tapas you won’t find them here, this is a revision of them. Service was good attentive and friendly. The atmosphere and the place itself are nice, I liked the open kitchen a lot.

Excellent food featuring really authentic Spanish dishes and very friendly and efficient waiting staff. My wife and I will definitely be back.

We were excited to try this place as we heard good things about it, it was underwhelming. The food was overpriced for what it was (two tiny crab fritters were £8). The place itself is quite small and we were pretty much touching elbows with the table next to us, we also happened to go the same night there was a large group eating there who were being extremely loud and it did affect our experience a bit as we could barely hear each other. The service was very good though, and our server was lovely and attentive. However, in general we were quite disappointed.

Frys, chicken curry, paninis, toasties whatever. These girls really know how to deliver a great service with great food. One of the highlights of the week is bringing our grannybhere for lunch on a Thursday. See you on Thursday, girls.
