beast breakfast on here and huffers are great... deffo should add more customisation to the breakfasts so I can remove stuff but they are great anyway

This is one of the 3 cafes in the timbers group and i have to say i was not impressed. Firstly they were not dressed smartly like in the other 2 cafes,I asked for some vinegar for my lunch and after i used it i noticed what looked like fruit flies in the bottle and some kind of skin so i went to show the waitress and she took it out the back after 5 mins she came to the table and said they weren't flies it was something congealed in the vinegar then she tried to tell me they were cleaned regularly, she then said to me anyway it's good for you. That made me feel sick to think I'd put that on my lunch so I'm sorry but that's one timbers group cafe i will not be eating at again what a let down the staff really didn't care this place is not a patch on the other 2 cafes in town they are fantastic

Brilliant service, even completed my unusal request to overcook the vegetables as the person they where for struggles if they are cooked to the normal, slight crunch requirement.

Chips were lovely. Chicken burger was dreadful quality, very tough. Not very nice at all. Very disappointed. Will stick to the breakfasts in future.

Popped here this morning for breakfast. Food quality was shocking, sausages deep fried , mushrooms look they came out of a can. Toast cold. Just tasted disgusting for the price of 2 breakfast 29.20 shocking 😲 customer service on front counter she couldn't handle being busy snapping at customers attitude when asked for a fried slice!!

Lovely food and the young waitresses were lovely. The atmosphere is great, fab for an after gym breakfast. The older lady behind the counter is rude !

Very nice except the toast was missing

I’ll start by saying the positive, the food is ok. The staff however! Jesus Christ, you’d think we’d spat in their faces. Walked in at 8:29 (they open half past) got the rudest welcome EVER cos they wasn’t open yet, however a man walked in 10 seconds afterwards and got the warmest welcome with open arms! Never felt so awkward in my life. Anyway, could have had a rough start to the morning so let it slide. When the other woman brought our coffees over she literally threw the spoon at my other half and just walked off. Absolutely unacceptable. Never been in a place with such miserable staff, maybe look for a new career if it’s not doing it for you anymore. Disgusting service.

Wasn’t very nice all very low quality

fantastic food, fantastic service. Communications we're great, had a call to say they were waiting on a delivery of stock and offered to wait or forgo the missing bit. Choose to wait and it came in good time. the food arrived hot, very well packaged and everything was in perfect condition as if it was fresh from the kitchen. Portion size was amazing. Couldn't be happier. 5*

So pay over £10 for for breakfast and you have to collect yourself from a counter with 5 members of staff stood behind doing nothing. Looked great but I have never been so ill the next day.

The food from here is good, but it was wrong so I can’t even eat it! Order a bacon huffa, got egg, sausage and one bit of bacon? Would have been fine however I don’t like egg, it’s all over the roll so I can’t eat it. Not one to complain, always usually good. But annoying paying for something you can’t eat.

Lovely food - would have appreciated cutlery as we didn’t have access to any but luckily it was food we could manage with. Great tasty food though.

Yet again another amazing order. Whether it be a quick breakfast or lunch there is always something to choose from. Great quality food and great prices. Would highly recommend

The hot Cajun salad was one of the nicest lunches I’ve had in a long time. Unfortunately we were sent the wrong sandwich for my son so we had a swap round and he had dads bacon one instead (sent tuna mayo and not egg mayo)

Disappointed In the delivery delay but was understanding. That was short lived when upon opening my order items were missing. Menu states 2 eggs and I only had one

Place was very busy, but the staff are organised, and to food was ready in about 20 minutes from ordering. I had a big breakfast,which was a good size, and cooked to perfection.

i must say for the price you pay for a breakfast i thought it was excellent value for money and i like the new way off buzzer service well cooked and hot when cooked its a busy spot with all walks of life well done

So the food was as lovely as always but I was missing the beans with my breakfast steak burger and we ordered a side of onion rings - opened the box and there were only 4 in there!?!

had a chicken and bacon wrap with curly fries. chicken was the most horrible chewy rubbish. couldn't finish.

really good big breakfast style meal. beans and tomatoes were kept in separate containers so not to mix with main meal. qood quality and tasty.

Yeah it’s on an industrial estate Yeah the place is not fancy But if you want the most epic breakfast imaginable. THIS IS IT! This is my happy place No nonsense, Order your food. Get a beeper and your hot drink and wait to be amazed All locally sourced ingredients. Door stop thick toast. I can’t say enough about this place. I’ll let the photos do the talking. Large and a mega shown. The standard is enough for most humans :-)

Took over an hour for delivery toast was very wet and soggy and the veggie sausages were mash and carrot very odd for a breakfast, wouldn’t order again egg was hard aswell

What a banging breakfast and a A BIG MENTION TO THE cracking staff member whom took my order. She Left a smile on my face and i totally enjoyed my breakfast. Thanks guys

This visit was a treat our friends had arranged for my self and my wife. I had recommended this place as my wife and I had eaten here before and the food was always well cooked and hot. I was really embarrassed the food was cooked but cold to warm not hot. I felt stupid I should have asked the others at the time if theirs was the same and sent it all back for fresh food. A few day later I spoke to our friends and the all said they had the sane experience.

If you're after the best cooked breakfast in Colchester, look no further than Eat Inn Diner! We had the Mega Breakfast, it was HUGE, but everything cooked really well and served quickly. Good prices too!

Sadly Probably the worst blt I’ve ever had. Bacon was awful quality and just full of fat, baguette and huffer were soft and soggy, felt like they needed longer in oven. Contents of sandwiches appeared just thrown together, looked like dogs dinner by the time it arrived. Will not be ordering again.

It's easily the best place to eat in Colchester

I believe strongly in credit where credits due .maybe I'm old fashioned but if I didn't leave a review it would be rude of me not too . WoW . I have just had the finest turkey dinner ever. The turkey melted in my mouth , the vegetables were so fresh and juicy the flavours just burst in the mouth. As for the roast potatoes and roasted parsnips they were divine and the stuffing and pig in blankets just blew my mind. It so hard to find food cooked to such a high standard . Thankyou so much for the best tasting experience of my life . And though I did not frequent the diner I had to give the atmosphere 5 stars too due to the wonderful staff that deliver to me always so happy and kind . That's means so much too me as I have mobility issues they always make my day better .

Another cracking breakfast from Eat Inn, can't fault them.

Highly recommend the seasonal specials! The festive huffer and Brie bacon cranberry baguette were perfect. The roast potatoes were lovely too with the gravy!

Eat inn diner is a proper builders diner. They do a good breakfast. What let’s this place down is the lady who takes the orders, she rolls her eyes as she’s your order, gives one word answers and is just generally rude. We go here as last resort because of her.

Came for a birthday brekkie this morning with family. Really tasty food, service was great. Really accommodating for our requirements. Will visit again when next in the area.

Lovely food will definitely order again, only downside was none of my eggs were runny which was disappointing as bought 3 loads of toast to dip in it. So maybe it be handy to have an option where you can state runny or hard yoke.

Forgot both our coffees, food was a little cold, delivery was about 20 mins late

Very disappointed with my order today. I frequently eat from the eat in diner and today my order was very poor quality. The container was filled with grease which made the whole container fall apart when I took it out the bag. Luckily I caught it all on a plate or it would have been a wasted breakfast. I also asked got no bacon and still got two overcooked pieces of bacon that I couldn’t even chew.

Was introduced to Eat Inn Diner by a friend the morning after a heavy day on the booze, and so glad he did! If there's a better home delivery full English brekky in Colchester, I haven't had one. Absolutely tip top!!

We are great fans of Cafe21 & Timbers so we’re excited to see a place outside of town from the same owners. Sadly where the other two establishments excel - Eat In Diner fails. We’ve been there twice to make sure our first visit wasn’t just bad luck. Both times the place had a very unpleasant smell to it. Makes you feel like you’re somewhere dirty. With the unpleasant smells the staff follows. Cafe21 is our favorite place partly thanks to the lovely staff who could not be nicer. The staff at Eat In Diner does not show the same kindness, it does not say anything about them personally but about the workplace. If I was working in a smelly restaurant and was clearly overworked(which you can clearly see how busy everyone is) I would not have the energy left for pleasantries either. You just end up feeling unwelcome there. The food, prices are ok. The food is a hit or miss. We had a jacket potato that was partially raw and cold. Obviously not nice. I had a ham butty - it wasn’t great either but at least not raw. The second time we had a full English and that was actually very lovely. I understand that this is in an industrial estate so it would not bring the same elegance of Timbers or Cafe21 but did not expect it to fall so far below our expectations. With some polishing this could be the place to go but at its current state I’d stay away.
