Eat Inn Diner in Colchester

Not being local, we didn't know this place or area, but had to take my 92yr old dad for dental support next door. Found the diner for a cuppa. Staff were so helpful with dad and told us where to park too. Definitely recommend, if we hadn't eaten breakfast at hotel, we would have eaten there too. Another time!

We just got takeaway from here! Moved to the area a couple of weeks ago and we were on the hunt for our new cafe for breakfast when we fancied ordering in whilst working. Well we definitely found it! Delivery was quicker than expected, the delivery woman was very friendly and the huffer is insane! We ordered the breakfast one and the sausage one with hashbrowns and egg. If you have a big appetite and a big stomach you will love it. Absolutely delicious 10/10

We have been here a few times and it’s been good but today my partner had the mega breakfast. The beans toms and mushrooms were cold and the sausage was undercooked.

Great breakfast local sausage, good quality bacon lovely egg and tomatoes and perfect granary toast. Only criticism is that teabag left in tea cup with no where to put it when you take it out only can leave a hot mess on the table.

Still hot, pukka food, would pack hash brown not on bottom though as they go soggy in the box.

Delicious breakfast, fried eggs yolks still runny when delivered. Superb sausages and bacon. Everything very tasty and arrived hot! Just one gripe... only got one tea when I ordered two!

Not received, no phone call or anything. Just switched from ‘delivering’ to ‘enjoy’. Maybe gave to someone else but we have a delivery code? Can’t give a good food rating as we didn’t get it!

This is a fantastic little diner, tucked away on an industrial estate. The food was great. Diner was clean. Staff were very polite, friendly and helpful

After waiting 45 minutes.. I asked for some red onion in my sandwich.. 3 tiny pieces.. poor dry sandwich.. wouldn't order from here no more

Found it whilst waiting for a car to be MOT. Had the Mega Breakfast and it was absolutely banging. Filled a hole in my belly. Came out nice and quick as well. Staff all seemed friendly during my time there. I'll be back. Maybe I'll go bigger next time

Food was 90% of the way there, it's normally 100% but just missed the mark today. For some reason the inside of the sausages where really greasy and quite unpleasant. It happens.

Our grandson has just started university. We looked for somewhere that served proper burger & chips as he is a fussy eater. The Eat Inn was brilliant. He gave a thumbs up. Also my wife and I enjoyed our meals. This means that when we visit him this will be our cafe of choice. It was clean, the staff were very polite and helpful. The food was piping hot. The only downside was that parking could be an issue. Limited parking available with lots of double yellow lines.

We will definitely be making the Eat Inn our diner of choice. The only negative is that there is limited parking with lots of double yellow lines.

Lovely place and atmosphere…very disappointed with the coffee though…ordered the filter and it was like water…then i got double espresso and that wasn’t good at all. The food served nice and hot and very tasty too. But please improve your coffee…ruined my whole breakfast.

Simply the best breakfast in Colchester. Except for Timbers and they own that as well We love coming here at least once a week for a giant breakfast Portions are massive. Bacon and sausage is local and superb quality (we asked!(. Toast is thick cut and real butter Kellie at the counter is our favourite and we usually have some banter if they aren’t too busy Place gets rammed in weekends and there is a reason. Bacon was fatty and chew didn’t eat half of it

A little supprised today, normaly no issues at all. I request a couple of items to be replaced by items of equal value as per the prices on your menu. Today you replaced the black pudding and tomato with one slice of bacon. And no cup of tea.

This is one of the 3 cafes in the timbers group and i have to say i was not impressed. Firstly they were not dressed smartly like in the other 2 cafes,I asked for some vinegar for my lunch and after i used it i noticed what looked like fruit flies in the bottle and some kind of skin so i went to show the waitress and she took it out the back after 5 mins she came to the table and said they weren't flies it was something congealed in the vinegar then she tried to tell me they were cleaned regularly, she then said to me anyway it's good for you. That made me feel sick to think I'd put that on my lunch so I'm sorry but that's one timbers group cafe i will not be eating at again what a let down the staff really didn't care this place is not a patch on the other 2 cafes in town they are fantastic

Brilliant service, even completed my unusal request to overcook the vegetables as the person they where for struggles if they are cooked to the normal, slight crunch requirement.

Chips were lovely. Chicken burger was dreadful quality, very tough. Not very nice at all. Very disappointed. Will stick to the breakfasts in future.

Popped here this morning for breakfast. Food quality was shocking, sausages deep fried , mushrooms look they came out of a can. Toast cold. Just tasted disgusting for the price of 2 breakfast 29.20 shocking 😲 customer service on front counter she couldn't handle being busy snapping at customers attitude when asked for a fried slice!!

Very nice except the toast was missing

I’ll start by saying the positive, the food is ok. The staff however! Jesus Christ, you’d think we’d spat in their faces. Walked in at 8:29 (they open half past) got the rudest welcome EVER cos they wasn’t open yet, however a man walked in 10 seconds afterwards and got the warmest welcome with open arms! Never felt so awkward in my life. Anyway, could have had a rough start to the morning so let it slide. When the other woman brought our coffees over she literally threw the spoon at my other half and just walked off. Absolutely unacceptable. Never been in a place with such miserable staff, maybe look for a new career if it’s not doing it for you anymore. Disgusting service.

fantastic food, fantastic service. Communications we're great, had a call to say they were waiting on a delivery of stock and offered to wait or forgo the missing bit. Choose to wait and it came in good time. the food arrived hot, very well packaged and everything was in perfect condition as if it was fresh from the kitchen. Portion size was amazing. Couldn't be happier. 5*

So pay over £10 for for breakfast and you have to collect yourself from a counter with 5 members of staff stood behind doing nothing. Looked great but I have never been so ill the next day.

The food from here is good, but it was wrong so I can’t even eat it! Order a bacon huffa, got egg, sausage and one bit of bacon? Would have been fine however I don’t like egg, it’s all over the roll so I can’t eat it. Not one to complain, always usually good. But annoying paying for something you can’t eat.

Lovely food - would have appreciated cutlery as we didn’t have access to any but luckily it was food we could manage with. Great tasty food though.

The hot Cajun salad was one of the nicest lunches I’ve had in a long time. Unfortunately we were sent the wrong sandwich for my son so we had a swap round and he had dads bacon one instead (sent tuna mayo and not egg mayo)

Place was very busy, but the staff are organised, and to food was ready in about 20 minutes from ordering. I had a big breakfast,which was a good size, and cooked to perfection.

i must say for the price you pay for a breakfast i thought it was excellent value for money and i like the new way off buzzer service well cooked and hot when cooked its a busy spot with all walks of life well done

Yeah it’s on an industrial estate Yeah the place is not fancy But if you want the most epic breakfast imaginable. THIS IS IT! This is my happy place No nonsense, Order your food. Get a beeper and your hot drink and wait to be amazed All locally sourced ingredients. Door stop thick toast. I can’t say enough about this place. I’ll let the photos do the talking. Large and a mega shown. The standard is enough for most humans :-)

This visit was a treat our friends had arranged for my self and my wife. I had recommended this place as my wife and I had eaten here before and the food was always well cooked and hot. I was really embarrassed the food was cooked but cold to warm not hot. I felt stupid I should have asked the others at the time if theirs was the same and sent it all back for fresh food. A few day later I spoke to our friends and the all said they had the sane experience.
