Eat Indian in South Lakeland

Change your opening times, was told you open 9am on Sunday , website says same. . 9.30 we made a journey here only to find it shut, wasted journey and a misleading website 😡

Had a lamb naanwich and a chicken tikka wrap to go. They were both super delicious, piping hot and great value. Second time we have visited and both times it's been super.

Walked past while on a daytrip to Kendal and decided to try the vegetable samosas to go with our homecooked Indian meal that evening. I'm sorry to say it was a total disappointment! It consisted of about 90% potato mash and the odd pea and piece of carrot. Now I'm a great lover of potatoes in any way, shape or form, but I've never had a potato samosa and neither of us liked it. Other vegetable samosas we've had are just that, full of vegetables, not mainly potato mash. I'm afraid we won't be back for more.

Order taken online and payment. They cancel the order straight away and then make you wait 3 days plus for refund. They are taking online orders and payment knowing they can not deliver and just cancel.

Very good food at very reasonable price. Lots of choice, very helpful staff. Nice and clean.

We had a takeout Curry and naanwich for lunch, both delicious! We also got a selection of samosas to have later, even reheated they were the best we've had. Great business.

Decided to try this Indian out with friends and made a big order. The delivery took much longer than expected and they had forgotten one of our meals. Getting in touch with them to solve this problem was difficult and when we finally got through there was no apology. A member of our group waited for another hour before the cold missing meal arrived at the door. We were offered no explanation or compensation. Very disappointing and we will be returning to our usual Indian in Kendal next time.

Terrible, food was absolutely freezing when served to us. Didn’t process our order online so when we cane to collect they had to go through and make it all again and we’ve got back home after a 4 min drive to it being ice cold. Avoid this place

I'm a visitor from the West Midlands. So, at age 68, I feel qualified to review what I ate tonight. I had Jalfrezi with Tandoori chicken, (and loads of it), with mushroom rice. I also had a couple of onion bhajis. My wife had Chicken Kahrai. This is the best Indian food I have had probably for 30 years. I wish an pray that they could open a shop nearer to where I live in Conwy, North Wales. I'd be ordering every week! I visit the Yorkshire Dales regularly. I will definitely be ordering from Eat Indian, Kendal every time I visit.

I really like eat Indian and this won't stop me ordering again. I just thought you needed to be aware there was a decent size piece of bone in my food tonight which could have caused damage had I not noticed it is as soon as I put it in my mouth. Perhaps just be more careful in future because your food is really tasty 🙂

We bought an array of pakoras and samosas with dips to take out walking with us. Made a nice change from cheese butties!

On holiday and got Chicken Ticka with garlic rice. First thing it was very salty. Not sure if it was the rice or the main dish. Also, compared to eating this dish many times before it was for me, too hot. Onion baji was great. Mushroom pakoras were dreadful-sorry

The service was excellent, the choice was unbelievable. We chose our food, took it home and warmed it up later. Jit was absolutely amazing!!!

Had chicken tandoori samosas, absolutely gorgeous & beautifully spiced, best I've tasted by a long way. Wish I could get the recipe.

What a great experience. The guys in the shop are absolute legends. So friendly and welcoming. A great choice of food which was all fantastic and incredible value for many. Would highly recommend a visit!

We had naanwich with vegetarian fillings and it was really really yummy. And such good value! To be honest, I enjoyed it more than my meal in the posh pub we had yesterday.

Friendly service, clean shop and fabulous food. Had a chicken tikka Nanwrap. It was fresh and very tasty.

Naanwich was excellent and amazing value at £4.99 with a can of fizzy pop during lunch (till 16:00!).

Me and my wife had a beef samosa and it wasn’t very nice, very greasy and like minced beef. We promptly had to have something else to eat to take the taste away. My sons had a naan bread which they enjoyed. Staff were very friendly and offered to heat our boys Naan bread up for them. Other food looked nice but as we were on holiday I’m not sure we would go back.

Such a fantastic Indian cafe/restaurant that serves Indian food in wraps or naan bread. I had the chicken bhuna naanwich, that was incredible. Fresh curried chicken with salad and garlic sauce, served with a can of mango tango for under £5. It was was piping hot dnd full of flavour and I’d definitely visit here again.

Watched the delivery driver go straight past our turning on the map and then the order said delivered. Not here and I'm starving. I'd ring the place if I could find a number

Brilliant place, very clean and staff very helpful and polite. Great portion sizes and reusable tubs ( always welcome ) Very good prices, cheaper than our local takeaway, Love the fact you can have either hot to eat straight away or cold to heat at home.

Ordered at 11:20, its now 14:00, order not arrived yet the app says it has. Cannot contact restaurant because they aren't using their own number. I hope they go bankrupt and have to close down.

Ordered a Diet Coke and got given a full fat can of cheap cola , expect better.

Sad to say that, like others have, we found some of the food way too salty. The main dishes were really nice but the rice and sides we struggled with, they had so much salt in them. As it's's no cheaper than a regular take away it's a shame. If they dialed back the salt it would be up there with the others. Worth a try, but it's the first and probably last visit. SLOW DOWN ON THE SALT GUYS

The food was delivered cold despite us ordering it as hot, this was frustrating. After heating the food up parts were really nice others were average. There was no heating instructions The most bizarre thing (apart from the food arriving cold!!) was that the popadoms were in an air sealed plastic bag and needed to be cooked in the oven. Overall this everything was okay but it was not the food we were advertised. Very bizarre order….

Salty isn't the word. Must have had about 5 pints of water after eating it. Need to be more careful when doing large batches

Indian starters are a delightful. Vegetable samosas from Eat Indian are super scrumptious, crunchy exterior and savory interior is simply divine. Chicken tikka wrap with that chilli and mint yogurt sauce was just yum yum. Highly recommended, its gonna be my regular lunch place. Also took hot and spicy curry home with garlic naan that was super super delicious. 😋

This is by far and away the worst Indian food experience I’ve ever had. Salty, misdescribed, expensive trash. Pakora dripping in grease, chicken pakora is vegetable pakora with tiny bits of chicken within it. Onion bajees were slimy and dripping in grease. So lesson learned. £36 for absolute s—t. Never again. Beware! On entering shop, feast for the eyes but the reality is a cheaply made and nasty salty disappointment.

Visited Kendal on Saturday 21st October 2023 and I have to say this is by far the best Indian food we have eaten in a long time

I might be a bit harsh with only 3 stars because the food quality is good and it tastes ok but I ordered the chicken tikka grill box and I was disappointed that there is no sauce at all on the chicken which makes it very dry. It also doesn't really taste like tikka.

I saw this place had opened earlier in the year and wanted to try it out, well I wasn't disappointed absolutely fantastic food and choice of dishes, I just wanted to buy everything and some, food was very flavoursome and authentic, I can't recommend this place highly enough.

So spotted this take away not having been in Kendal a while. Ordered some sides and their chicken methi. OMG this was absolutely delicious when reheated the day after for our evening meal. I am so going back!!! Well done the taste was out of this world!!!!

I suspect there was an accident while cooking, as the Lamb Rogan Josh I had - a dish friends have described as really good from here - while full of meat, and full of flavour, and nicely spicy, was also far, far too salty. I tend to add salt to most dishes, this time I needed to drink water with it. Disappointing. Edit: My stomach decided it was still too salty, so it exited the way it went in. I feel a bit better now. Vomiting after too much salt is a first for me. A note for "Eat Indian": You need to address this issue, it would've been excellent without the excess salt.

Beautiful authentic food, amazing parathas, samosas & bhaji.Hubby had the hot spicy chicken curry which was gorgeous . I had the chicken curry with fenugreek , I thought I had died & gone to heaven. Such friendly helpful staff,we returned again today for more.We need you to open one in Hull, you would do really well . Thankyou so much

I had the most delightful experience at this Indian hotel. The curries and rice were incredibly flavorful and authentic, and the pakoras were perfectly crispy and delicious. The attention to detail in every dish was truly impressive. The ambiance was inviting, and the staff were friendly and attentive. This place definitely offers some of the best Indian cuisine I've ever tasted. Highly recommended!

After reading all the reviews I thought I would try it. I ordered shish chicken kebab that was perfect tasty spicy 😋 then I got pilau rice and chicken balti it tasted good but it was too watery sorry to be writing this but for £12+ I would of liked better. See pics.!! 😔 Hence only 3 stars. Got to mention the staff they were very friendly and helpful.

Fabulous authentic Indian food! We got Karahi lamb, pilau rice, chicken pakora, vegetable pakora and samosas. The curry was delicious, just the right heat, I'd say medium hot but lots of flavour! The chicken pakora with dips, very tasty! We've frozen the rest but I'm sure the samosas and vegetable pakora will be just as good.

Inconsistant. First time i went it was really nice. Second time it was completely different. Ordered the same thing both times. A naanwich with chicken tikka masala with salad no onions. They gave me onions and no salad instead. Then instead of the tika masala they used the sandwich chicken pieces. Completely horrible compared to my first time which is a shame becuse i thought it was really nice at first. Never know if you get a nice one or a horrible one. Rather go somewhere consistant.

Should be called ‘Eat Salt’ ☹️ Really disappointing. No (proper) poppadums, rice ok, naan tasted like just bread, and all 3 main dishes tasted of nothing but salt.

A brilliant addition to Kendal's food offer. Huge variety of freshly prepared Indian food to takeaway. Very friendly and helpful staff. Reasonable pricing. I've been in several times a week in the month or so since they opened. When they didn't have the daal I wanted, they happily agreed to get it for me the following day. What great customer service 👍 Well done guys.

We are away, saw this place and just bought for dinner,,,All looks delicious, well presented. And tastes amazing, I did buy a jalfrezi bit spicy for me but nice..had naan, pakora bites, rice's, and bhuna...bought samosa fir lunch tomorrow too..would visit again...Good price too cheaper than takeaway..

Bought a chicken patia from the kendal shop tasted lovely,unfortunately got food poisoning after eating it ,never been so ill at night,next day in bed.sorry but won't be back.

Excellent choice of both meat and vegetarian curries, as for the choice of samosas, pakoras etc i couldn't have wished for anything more, the topped nann breads are a meal in themselves, so much so I ended up leaving the curry for the following night to eat 🤣

We have purchased two consecutive weekends - first time something really salty - this time we got alot of starters again and Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi - the chicken is not edible it is sooo salty - completely spoilt our meal and also got chicken patia - tikka should be a balanced flavour that enhances a dish not make it so salty it cannot be eaten - we are chucking away food that we shouldn't, can't afford to.

I got a mix of different starters and two main curries and everything was delicious. One of those rare times when the experience lives up to the hype.

Lots of choices of curries, dips, rice and sides to choose from. They fill the tubs to the brim (bigger than the average sized takeaway tubs). Friendly helpful staff and the place was immaculate. Delicious 😋

Hate to be leaving this review as I’ve used both other stores in Lancaster and Preston and absolutely love them and couldn’t wait for this store to open. But why not the same value for money…. Why is the kendal store more expensive…. I mean I lot more expensive…. Such a shame as I’ll not use them no more.

Just had a chicken balti naanwhich from here. 4.99 with a drink absolutely amazing value for something so tasty and filling. Great friendly service as well. Was busy but plenty of staff on hand to serve. Will definitely be back
