2 n 2. It was the nicest pie n mash I have had in years. Even the chilli vinegar was spot on. My new favorite pie n mash shop.

I loved Eastenders Pie and Mash. Everything about it was spot on--to the point of being magical: Warm, friendly, salt-of-the-earth blonde server with real-deal accent. CHECK. Perfect cuppa, with no teabag in. CHECK. Value for money (tea £1.00!). CHECK. Impeccable, traditional pie and mash. CHECK. Clean, classic premises. CHECK. Outdoor seating. CHECK. Friendly locals (not all oldies either) with genuine east end accents. CHECK My only regret? Having two pies, one mash, instead of two pies two mash.

Lovely, clean, comfortable shop. Very friendly, jolly lady behind the counter, served us with a smile and very quickly. We had pies, mash and liquor and it was all delicious and very reasonably priced. Very happy with Eastenders and we will be back.

I usually go to Manzies Tower Bridge rd, Cookes Horton . I’d been told about this place so decided to have a look. My order, doubleur pie & mash, the server picked up a plate from behind the counter , walked the length of the front of house & out into the kitchen, 30 seconds later she walked back in the shop with two pies on the plate, scooped some mash, liquor. I paid, sat down. My first bite of the pie was cold so maybe my second bite from further in may be hot. It sure wasn’t, the pie was also chewy as well as cold, the mash & liquor vaguely warm. I didn’t enjoy it at all, maybe the food being cold meant it lacked any real taste & other than its look I would not have recognised this as traditional pie & mash, far from it in my humble 60 years of living in London around this food. Unfortunately I will not be revisiting. On a customer service note a lady with brown hair & dark rimmed glasses served me, she did not break a smile or take my hard earned cash in a friendly manner, just business .

Great authentic East End food + lovely service! I dropped by after attending a tradeshow at Excel and I'll 100% return again. Check this place out if you're passing through East London or working in the area! Easy to find, opposite All Saints DLR station, just to the left as you exit. As good as food gets!

Where did Xmas 2021 go?? Well it came and went and I'm writing this review in 2022. Better late than never! Im sharing praise and comments on behalf of myself and work colleagues, as we feel it is a must. Our team manager took us for lunch at her favourite pie and mash shop one Summers day last year - the famous Eastenders Pie and Mash, and after a delicious serving of London's finest traditional dishes, with homemade puddings to boot, we couldn't wait to pay the welcoming restaurant another visit- so we arranged a surprise 60th birthday party for our manager. We cannot thank the amazing staff enough for accommodating the special occassion. On the day they helped set up the Birthday decorations and kindly gave us a quick peek of behind the scences to show us how they made the bespoke 60th Birthday pies - abiding we follow health and safety procedures of course. As expected, the food was tip top yum and everyone, including other customers, sung Happy Birthday to our surprised boss! It was a day we will never forget and this treasure of a place is highly recommended.

I don’t eat a lot of pie mash but when I do it’ll always be here that I eat from. The food is magnificent and the staff are not only friendly, but funny and helpful too. As well as the traditional meat pie there is lots to choose from. The butternut and sweet potato, and the chicken leek and ham pies are mouthwatering, as is the homemade brownie. You won’t regret going. Trust me.

Two of us visted on a Saturday lunchtime and took advantage of the "pensioners' special" consisting of Pie Mash and Liquor, a choice of tea, coffee or squash, and a choice of dessert - for all of £5 each. We both chose the closest-to-traditional mince beef pie although there were other options. Every single mouthful of the pie, the magnificent creamy mash and of the Apple Crumble and Chocolate Brownie each with two decent scoops of ice-cream, was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended for a down-to-earth traditional lunch.

For two Scottish 60-somethings looking for another tick on the bucket list this was our first ever experience of a cockney pie and mash restaurant - and we weren’t disappointed. Wary of sampling the jellied eels (for no other reason than it just didn’t appeal) we opted for the pensioners special of pie and mash with liquor, followed by rhubarb pie and ice cream and a mug of coffee - all for the princely sum of £4.90 each. This place is a real gem..the two ladies behind the counter were friendly and courteous in the time honoured east end tradition, the food was served quickly and tasted great although my partner did lay down her cutlery upon learning that the liquor was made from the juice of steamed eels! I don’t think either of us will ever get over the psychological barrier of eating eels, whether jellied, steamed or in pastry but respect to the good folks of east London for keeping up the tradition. We’re glad we went.

It's the most traditional Pie & Mash you can go to. It's a local landmark and holds true to British traditional of inexpensive Blue Collar food. The prices are inexpensive for the amount of food you get and it's comfort food at its best.

The little 'family run' place was based at the top of Bethnal Green's Working Mens Club. However it's closed down I am afraid.
