The food is tasty. The service is good. Atmosphere is relaxing with a nice music. But the interiors are poor, need to be renewed. And the staff weren’t engaging, seemed a bit nervous.

Easily one of the best hidden gems. Mum dad and I were down here for a short break, this restaurant don't look much from the outside but when we got in its nice and freshly decorated our table was a bit sqeeky. On to the food both my dad and I had the steak in black bean sauce mum had chicken satay and noodles. The plates came just before the food which I would say the are on the small side but that's being picky. The food came and got pured out onto a sizzling plator. It was a nice touch, the food was amazing fresh vegetables and the beef was perfectly cooked we all enjoyed it. I highly recommend this place. If we are ever back here we will defo visit again.

We’ve drove past this restaurant loads of times on the way to our guest house so it was nice to actually eat there last weekend. The food was really nice, especially my hot and sour soup starter. No complaints with the service either, it was very attentive. The bill was £35 for 2 starters, 1 main and a couple of drinks and we both thought that was reasonable. We would certainly use East for a meal the next time we were in Llandudno.

Very disappointed with our meals here today.There wasn't much taste and very small portions.Hot and sour soup had that many chilli's it was inedible.

Not the best if I’m honest, tried the Tom yung soup which was pretty poor thankfully they knocked it off my bill. Beer was fine rice was ok, beef in black bean average.

As an Asian diner, I had high hopes for this restaurant, but I was disappointed by the experience provided. First off, the food I had didn’t meet my expectations, and it tasted like it was made from instant paste, with very little protein in the dish. For the price, the quality and portions didn’t seem justified. For example, the omelette I ordered, which cost £11, was bland and lacked seasoning, and it seemed to be made from just 3-4 eggs. It felt like poor value for money, and unfortunately, I won’t be returning.

Having never visited Llandudno before, we used Tripadviser to find our fave food eateries. Connie, the owner, was flying solo, but despite a full restaurant, everybody received attentive, great customer service. From the decor outside, you would not realise East delivers the most tasty food. We enjoyed it that much we have booked again to spend our last evening eating there. Connie even said she would reserve the window table again, which we had loved before.

Best Chinese I have been to in a long time.. recommended to us but the owner if the guesthouse we stayed at.. and what a great recommendation. The lady who was seving did an amazing job on what was a busy evening... the food was outstanding.. Will visit again..

We are annual visitors to Llandudno and have always gone to Topps restaurant for our Chinese fix! But this has closed down. Hence we booked East. Thank goodness we did as the food is excellent, service friendly and attentive and atmosphere is lovely. See you next year.

Great takeaway. Tasty, fresh none of the usual aftereffects such as middle of the night thirst. Highly recommended.

The portion was extremely small, I ordered a beef fillet, only 4-5 tiny pieces but it cost more than £14. I also ordered Japanese ramen but it came with just instant noodles. They said it’s food for western people but not Asian. Well I just wonder that’s the reason to cheat western people as they don’t know how to differentiate between ramen and instant noodle.

Food is nice, family friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Service was good, overall we enjoyed our meal. Toilets are upstairs so not wheelchair friendly for that. The front door was very tired, letter cover broken, bottom of the door is deteriorated.

The staff were so kind and I LOVED the Japanese udon! It was the first Chinese restaurant I'd seen that also had Japanese food options -Ava Liverpool (gran and grandad liked their food too)

The portions were very less as compared to all the Cantonese restaurants I have been in my life. The prices were too much with respect to the quantity . I was highly dissapointed with the food quality as the chilli pork had less pork and more sauce and veggies , same for Udon noodles

First time visit while staying in the area for our wedding anniversary. Outwardly unassuming but inside spacious and clean. We found the staff welcoming and were surprised to see how busy it was at 7pm. We found the food excellent and the service was too. Very attentive with staff ensuring the drinks were topped up. The only issue was the canned instrumental music which seemed to be the same tune on constant loop endlessly. Although it was quiet background noise, it got irritating after a while! My wife didn't notice it 🤷. This was more than made up for by the friendly and attentive staff and superb food. We would definitely visit again if in the area.

9 months since out last visit and once again the food was stunning. Don't go on the looks of this restaurant from the outside. Decor inside is plain and simple. I had chicken and sweetcorn soup, then we had a platter of mixed starters for two and the prawn toast, chicken satay, pancake rolls, spare ribs were fabulous. I then had Filet Steak in black bean sauce and a side of boiled rich and chinese vegetables. You get big quantites and the pieces of filet steak were outstanding. My wife had chicken with vegtables and potato and she enjoyed it but commented to much chicken to eat it all!! I had two pints of Kirin Japanese lager I believe and my wife a large glass of Rose wine. £77 all in and a bargain.... cant wait to go again and next time we will go for a set menu for two as the couple next to use had that and it looked fabulous.

It's only a small place but the food is excellent and very reasonably priced.

East has been my favourite restaurant/ take away in llandudno for the past 10 years. NOT anymore, I called to try and order a take away. A man answered the phone, a man has never answered the phone, after he questioned everything I wanted to order I drove to the restaurant to make sure the order was correct. Getting back home with take away to watch glastonbury I was so dissapointed with most of the food. Mix combination of hors-d’oeurs were shockingly bad, dry tasteless and expensive, my main was not as I normally receive. My thought are the man on the phone was the owner head chef who has decided to come out of the kitchen and work front of house. STAY IN THE KITCHEN A COOK YOUR AMAZING FOOD

As you can see from the exterior, they don't spend a fortune on decor. However, the food and service are both pretty good and it's good value. It might be your best option in Llandudno.

The Chicken and sweetcorn soup was the best I've ever had. A great start to a really nice meal. We also appreciated the superb, friendly, efficient service. Well worth a visit.

Our second visit to this restaurant and the food and service was excellent. Very tasty with good portions.A very nice lady served us and also advised us on portion size that saved us from over ordering.I have eaten in a lot of Chinese restaurants over the years and this one for me is the best food I have had in years. East used to be the top place that I would go to eat or order out .As I hadn’t been there for a while I thought I would treat myself to a take out. How disappointed was I . The food was dry and very salty. I shall think twice before going back again.

We ate at East on Saturday 30th March. We arrived at 5:30, it took 40 minutes for someone to take our order. Starters arrived sporadically with some people waiting for food when the others had already finished. The main meal did not arrive until almost 8 o'clock. We had to ask where the food was on several occassions. Most other tables were experiencing the same delays. There was a large table nearby who were unhappy because their food had taken far too long to arrive and again had not arrived together, what happened next was disgraceful, the manager was called and got involved in a long drawn out debate with the customer over whether or not a discount should be given, he argued that because the customer had said the food was good they should not get any form of discount for the fact the food took almost 2 hours to arrive. A member of the party believed she heard the waitress swear at her and called her out on this, the waitress said she had not sworn at the woman, the two of them continued to shout at each other in front of the other guests. The customer should not have shouted at the waitress but in my opinion the best thing the staff member could have done to difuse the situation was to apologise for what the customer thought she heard and then walk away. Shouting in the middle of the restaurant is not on. The food was ok but certainly not something I would rush back for.

Family of 5 Saturday evening. Starters were lovely but main meals were served that far apart so by the time the last person was served the rest of us had finished our meals. We were told they were short staffed and the waitress hadn’t given correct order to kitchen. All the main courses apart from one were not as described on menu and were very poor. We left after complaining to manager who said he had deducted price of one main course from bill, but as bill was not itemised we could have been charged anything but after a disappointing meal and empty apology we couldn’t wait to get out of there.

Booked for a family meal, 23 of us. Booked months in advance. We were forced into a set menu, so they told us what we were having, but yet still took an hour to take our order. There was not enough food for a Banquet, we were conned! The staff were very forceful. 3.5 hours for what should have been an 1.5 hours. Decor is outdated, everything seemed to be broken too. The food has gone down hill. Llandudno needs another Chinese, and this one needs to shut it's doors. Oh and Cash only!

Without doubt the best Chinese food. We have been coming to East for 8 years, and prior to this since 2000 to the original Chinese owned by the East team. The staff are excellent. The decor is absolutely fine. And the Kirin lager is another reason you should go! Just visit is all I can say and judge for yourself!

Visited here many times and it continues to amaze. The food is really great, amongst the best quality of Chinese food. Especially the starters and great, including the ribs which are meaty and cooked perfectly. In my opinion the starters are better than the mains, but same could be said about a lot of places I suppose.

First of all I would advise booking as it is very busy. We walked in without a booking and were greeted by friendly staff , they gave us a table and served us drinks fairly quickly , they advised us they were very busy and food would take longer than usual , which we didn't mind . It did take quite a long time for food but we were happy they even gave us a table the food was absolutely delicious we aren't from the area but If we were we would make this a regular spot , fairly priced as well we got 4 drinks between us , quarter crispy duck , 2 mains , noodles and chilli chips all for £60

The food and service was next to perfection

One of the best in North Wales for a tasty Cantonese style meal plus plenty of Japanese dishes to try and all meals are reasonably, priced. Highly recommended the set meals👌👍

First visit to 'East' and it was chosen based on its reviews. Great welcome by owners, fairly plain but functional interior. That doesnt matter because we go to eat not look at wallpaper. Extensive, clear menu with good prices. Owner can be flexible on your choice if you want a starter as a mains. I was so impressed with the quality of the food and it was probably the best Chinese food experience I have ever had. I had soup and it was full of chicken, sweetcorn and flavour. I then had four pancake rolls.. crispy and perfectly fried, not soggy. For main course I had the sliced fillet beef in blackbean sauce and egg fried rice. When it came and was served onto a sizzling platter, I was amazed at the quantity of sliced fillet steak. The sliced steak was cooked to perfection - medium rare, had no fat on it and the vegetables and black bean sauce was unlike anything I had ever tasted in a previous chinese restaurant or a takeaway. It was in a class of its own. No room for a pudding but washed down with draught Japanese lager. I am so looking forward to eating here again the next time we visit Llandudno. We all agreed that if we could take the restaurant lock, stock and barrell and its staff to Northwich... we would..

We ordered 2 x sizzling noodles dishes. Only one came in a dish that should have been sizzling - but wasn't. The other came as a different dish. I believe they got the order wrong, as to be fair - they did refund us for one main meal. However - nobody said sorry or explained to us what had gone wrong. So we were really disapointed with our meal that we'd been looking forward to. We are locals, but we won't be going back again for a long time. 🙃

We booked to go to East to celebrate my birthday. We were a family party of nine. As it was the first Thursday of 2024 I was surprised how busy the restaurant was. Despite being busy, the service was informal, friendly and good. One of the attractions of East is they offer four set meals, three from different cuisines, Chinese, Japanese and Thai. Three chose the gourmet Chinese, two the Japanese and two the Thai. We were all well satisfied with what we had. While what we had was more than sufficient we didn't leave the table feeling bloated. All in all a very pleasent experience.

Had a table of 7 vegans, the food was so incredible totally yummy and they catered so well for us even having many vegan wines 🩷 best black bean sauce ive ever had 😍 and the deep fried tofu starter was so amazing! Would 100% reccomend, great service, great food, acoomodating and lovely people :)

We had dinner there as a couple. The dishes were served promptly and the food was good, especially the sizzling steak. The staff were friendly and attentive. It is quite a small place though so you might want to book.

Absolutely awful. I am convinced that the food was purchased from a certain frozen chain, and heated and served. It really was not good at all, which was really surprising given all the good reviews. We were really disappointed, and cannot recommend this restaurant to anybody.

We booked a table after ABBA Mania at Venue Cymru. They stayed open for us and to say we weren’t disappointed. The service was impeccable and the food was the best we have eaten in a Chinese restaurant. Fresh, tasty and plenty of it. The prices were very cheap compared to where we live. 2 starters, 2 mains, fried rice and a bottle of wine . £61. Would definitely recommend trying here !! 5 stars from us

Went to Llandudno for a couple of days. Found this lovely little Chinese restaurant. Found it very friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. We had, chicken and cashew nut and szechuan tai chin chicken, with a starter of skewered satay chicken. Absolutely delicious. Excellent service, 10/10 for food and being made welcome. Highly recommend this chinese restaurant. Will be returning 😁👍

We arrived in Llandudno on a dark stormy night, and we searched for a place to eat. we came across East and popped in, and the host was really friendly, and nothing seemed too much trouble for us, and the food was second to none, the three left full. There is plenty of choice for everyone around the table.

Basic traditional Cantonese food with some Japanese influence. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very quiet when we visited. Prices reasonable.

We visited for dinner. The service was swift and attentive. The food was exceptionally good. Hot, fresh and very very tasty. The price was reasonable. We had the gourmet banquet between three people. There was plenty of food for us all to share. All the courses came swiftly. We had a lovely evening and would highly recommend it. Thank you East, you made our day even better.

Entered restaurant inside very very outdated decor and appearance. Was seated to a table by a Chinese front of house person, who could hardly speak English or understand what we were saying and then after writing down the order he still got it wrong. The meal appeared in a very short while, and quite honestly the serving dishes that they served the meal in were battered and badly chipped and then instead of giving us dinner plates we were given small side plates and had not been warmed in the slightest. Quite honestly for the time we were in there we were ripped off. On looking into the kitchen there was an English chef/cook who quite honestly should have been front of house. We were glad to pay the bill and exit the restaurant to which we will never return. Please bear this in mind, this review before going there.

Probsbly the best Chinese in the area. Flavours are kind of westernised, but it is still enjoyable. Very popular destination, so I would reccomend booking.

My wife and I have experienced many cuisines but this place tipped the scales. We had the meal for two, Japanese style, and the flavours kept coming. I would recommend this little restaurant for anyone venturing out for a culinary treat.

Our starters chicken and sweetcorn soup and my barbecued ribs were really good also my husband's beef curry but my crispy sweet and sour chicken was terrible,,,,more like burned chicken. When we complained the waitress couldn't have cared less and did not apologise.

Visited tonight with my mum. Lovely girl who was serving, very friendly and quick service. The food was good. A little bit pricey. We had a sharing starter which was £16. Rice and noodles for the mains are £5 each separate to the meal. I think maybe sticking to just mains if you want to keep the cost down is a good idea. Other than that great little place.

The beef curry was tasteless a shame because the beef was really nice, spring rolls where ok. The noodles where fine, would I go again not sure

We popped in for takeaway bout 7ish.Restaurant was busy but looked like it needed a makeover. Charlie who worked there was nice and kept us upto date with our takeaway. When we took them home the pancake rolls were tasteless.. Don't buy then, better from Asda.Egg fried rice and curry was nice but the sweet and sour crispy chicken was not the best. Wouldnt go back yo be honest.
