Sakura Cantonese Cuisine in Conwy

This is our second visit here and again we could not fault the food. It is easily the best Cantonese food we have had. The staff were really friendly and it appeared to be very popular with the locals. Whilst we wouldn't be staying at Abergele again, we will certainly be visiting the restaurant.

Arrived without making a reservation - I usually always do as I know how busy it gets - around 5pm and was delighted there a table for two free. Greeted with a very warm welcome from Steve as always and we were thrilled to see the Tapas menu back on. Ordered a selection of starters and then mains and everything was spot on. Lovely and fresh tasting and piping hot. The noodles and bean sprouts are just delicious as were all the other dishes. Evan the young waiter was very pleasant also. Thanks to all the team. I came here on the recommendation of my son who lives in Abergele and is a regular diner at the Sakura. Our party of four had the Cantonese banquet at £30 per head. We also drank the Japanese draught beer which was fresh and tasty. Expectations were high but were far exceeded. The courses were generous, piping hot and flavourful. The service friendly and efficient. We never felt rushed. I felt we had a satisfying, delicious meal in pleasant surroundings. We undoubtedly had excellent value for money too. I know we will return to the Sakura again and again in the near future.

Last time I dined at the Sakura, I wrote about the chaotic service but not this time. Everything was a lot more relaxed, food service and drink service was excellent, the food was tasty, in fact it was a very enjoyeable evening , finished off with coffees which were good, all in all a far better evening than before. Nice to see the tables dressed.

Takeaway was a poor offering and expensive. The spare ribs were tough and tasteless, fried rice had barely touched the pan. The whole appeared thrown together, very disappointing from a restaurant with a good reputation. Service was good.

Hot, tasty, filling and fair on the wallet! Had a takeaway here (as have done many times), never fails to disappoint with hot and tasty + fresh food. Good service and even had a cheeky pint whilst I waited.

We stopped off here on a Friday evening to as we were driving from Shrewsbury to Bangor for the weekend to see friends and family. We hadn’t booked beforehand but the staff we very accomodating as we were lucky enough to arrive when it wasn’t too busy. We were made to feel very relaxed and welcomed. The menu had lots of choice so we picked a variety from the menu to share. The food arrived quickly and it looked so appetising. As we tucked in, we weren’t disappointed as it all tasted delicious. We had only chosen to stop here to break up our journey on a Friday evening, however, we will definitely make sure we stop again when we head on our travels to the Bangor area in the future. Fantastic Cantonese restaurant which provides an exceptional high standard of food and service always! Have visited several times with friends, family and work colleagues…. This place never disappoints with such a wide menu to choose from, for both eat in or takeaway!

Delicious takeaway as always from Sakura, always consistently tasty vegetarian meals. Have tried most of the dishes here and firm favourite still stands with the tofu curries. Highly recommend 😊

As usual the food and drink was up to its usual high standard. I had family visiting from Leicester and they were so impressed that they will be back next month to have another treat.

We had a takeaway from here on the Sunday evening which was amazing, and then went back on the Wednesday for a meal in the restaurant The portions were generous and the food was so so good, and the prices very reasonable Can’t give this family run establishment enough praise!

Last night we ordered from Sakura and usually this is our favourite Chinese as historically it has been absolutely spot on. Gutted last night that the food was below the usual standard, the rice was bland don’t even think it had any egg in it, the curry tasted sweet and just not the usual high standard at all. Really disappointed. Probably won’t return again now to be honest.

We went for a birthday meal, first improvement was the tablecloths, looks a lot better. We had soups, mine was the dumpling one, nice but a bit salty however probably my taste. The starters, garlic prawns, prawn toast and beef samosas were excellent. The mains seafood noodles and crispy beef, couldn't fault. However the service experience wasn't the best. Very busy, one lady running g around doing bar, till and waiting on, plus the man in charge. I was disappointed to have 2 glasses and wine dumped but I know it was a screw top, but I couldn't get it open, my husband sorted it when back at table. Then soups served and to our surprise the starters arrived same time, OK if heaters supplied, but they were getting cold. I did say at the end to the waitress and she said that we should have asked for a delay, to be honest I should have been asked if I wanted everything at once. We felt that everything was in a rush and I am not surprised with the lack of staff, as there were a lot of people in. However the owners need to take on board that lovely food needs to be supported by good service as people want a good overall experience, so maybe think about extra staff, and I am sure the overall experience then will be tremendous.
