EartH Kitchen in Hackney

First of all, from the beginning to the end, the service was amazing. Especially Heja was great, greeted us with a sincere, warm welcome and paid attention to us and our requests until the very end. Special thanks to Heja! I am vegan and they informed me well about the ingredients. The pea hummus with za'atar, served as a beginner, was extraordinary. Chickpea and wheat steam is one of the best vegan dishes I have ever had, almost like my mum's dishes. Rice is also vegan and it tastes good. I wish there was a vegan bread option as well, just in case a vegan customer would like to eat bread, especially if you think of the importance of bread in Middle Eastern cuisine. But all in all, it is a good place for a vegan since they have many vegan options and can turn some dishes into vegan ones as well. They are very helpful in this case.

Struggling to understand other review scores here - maybe we were unlucky. Absurd prices for tiny dishes (and that's before you've even ordered the rice necessary to make it filling - looking at you Lamb Stew). To make it worse, service was dismissive and rude; not sure why we should feel guilty for asking for ketchup and mayo 3 times before eventually only getting mayo 15 minutes later, but hey, we move

We turned up at 9.45pm on Saturday fully expecting to be told kitchen was closed. Nope. Welcomed warmly with no problems at all. A miracle for London these days. Food is a wonderful tour from the eastern Mediterranean to the Himalayas, we had Afghan chicken in yogurt and herb fritters, absolutely perfect. Service was warm and friendly, plus we got a delicious sponge cake as a treat. ♥️

The Ghorme sabzi doesn't taste like ghorme sabzi at all. The cook has clearly never eaten the real thing.

Very, very oily food that made me quite sick despite being hungry. I love Middle Eastern good but the taste of the dishes at Zer is not the one I was expecting considering all the amazing reviews.

Have been here a couple of times, and on each occasion the food was incredible, the service excellent, and the atmosphere very relaxed. Highly, highly recommended - I will be back again!

Heel fijne plek om te eten! We hadden tickets geboekt voor cinema Rio en zochten een goed restaurant in de buurt waar we snel konden eten. Bij Zer waren ze erg vriendelijk en kregen we lekker eten voor een eerlijke prijs. Bedankt voor de fijne ervaring!

The restaurant is lovely with great atmosphere. The service was friendly and attentive. The food came quickly and it was very tasty. I found the portion of the mains ordered small (meatballs stew and roasted aubergine), but this may not be the case for other mains. Overall very good experience.

Their customer service and lack of accountability for messing up your entire order is super disappointing. I ended up ordering food, spending money and not being able to consume as the order arrived incomplete. They could fix it by sending me the missing item but they didn’t care to correct their mistake. Persians would know that Ghormeh Sabzi can not be consumed without rice.

Middle eastern food from different areas of the middle East, from afghani, Iranian, Israeli, and more. All food portions are shareable. Service was super. Small but cosy atmosphere.

Plates are tiny and expensive. I'm certain they're serving Costco frozen foods for starters. I had the lamb tagine as a main and that was quite good, but the rest of the experience really lets the whole thing down.

I took my son for lunch here. The food was really good, fresh, tasty, filling. Lovely friendly service and nice relaxed atmosphere. Definitely coming back.

"What's not to like?" said my dining companion. The food, which is absolutely top notch and kind of posh, is somehow not priced higher than that of other restaurants in the area, despite having details like "sour cherries" in the meatballs. Our server was really lovely and gave us some delicious cake on the house, so cross your fingers!! Or be extra nice. Her recommendations in general were excellent and I really enjoyed myself. Absolutely fabulous from start to finish. We got two mezze platters and a chicken dish and everything was just delicious. Make sure you get a pea dip - mind blowing! The service was on point - very friendly, smiley and attentive. We will definitely be back if we find ourselves again in this neck of the woods :)

Was looking for a quick place to eat that wasn't the same old. This little place has great food, great atmosphere and the staff were fantastic. So many different culturally based foods in one spot. Truly a place I hope to visit again. So if you're around, pop in and dine on some flavourful delights.

The food was amazing and lots to choose from. I usually cant find much I like on a menu but i was spoilt for choice. The service was just right and the restaurant had a nice relaxed vibe. It was the best meal I've eaten out in a long time. It was a two hour train journey for us (we were going to the Earth theatre next door) but I think i would come in to London again just to eat here! I was also surprised at the cost and we had a double gins!

A great place in Dalston for comforting Middle Eastern food, with a very tasty Lavand-e-Murgh - which I recommend! Service is very friendly and speedy too :)

Really lovely place in Dalston! The food is delicious — we loved everything but the peas tahini and the prawn sauté were our favourite — and the people running the place are so sweet! They made us and our little doggo feel right at home :) we’ll be back soon!

Went with my family to celebrate my graduation and we have absolutely no complaints. The service was amazing, staff were always there to help and made sure we were okay. The food was also really good, just wish there was more on the menu but still amazing!

The moment you step inside, you're greetedy by enchanting aromas and vibrant colors that transport you to a world of culinary delights. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, making our dinner experience very memorable. Food was packed with flavours and portions were generous. Very good food at a reasonable price

We ordered pumbkin, chicken in yoghurt, and rice as takeaway. All of them were perfectly splendid. Espacially the pumkin was the most delicious thing which i've ever eaten in my life. We want to go there and try the other dishes as soon as possible.

Amazing food and amazing service. The yogurt chicken is really tender and the sauce is delicious. The aubergine with pomegranate is recommended too. A must-go place if you're in Dalston (and definitely worth making the trip for if you're not).

I had dinner at this restaurant today and thoroughly enjoyed it. There is a selection of dishes from different Middle Eastern countries; so lots to chose from. The pumpkin in yogurt was wonderful and delicious. The chicken in yogurt was also scrumptious. Service was excellent and very friendly staff. Nice atmosphere for a date or a group of people. Thoroughly recommended.

Phenomenal. A friend told me about this treasure of a restaurant in Hackney. She particularly loves its ethos of recreating dishes 'like your mum made' that remind you of home. Heartwarming. Fabulous dishes from across the region to bring good memories of home and family. They prepare the food from scratch every day, so each ingredient is fresh and full of flavour. And they don't just stop at the food. Fresh flowers that don't get in your way on the table. They exhibit artists so they get a chance to share their work. The greeting on arrival feels like coming home and walking into a warm and friendly place where you feel genuinely wanted and welcome. The service is friendly and spot on. They really care that you're having a good time and enjoying yourself. Beautiful. So good. Thank you. I'll be back.

Mucver, get a plate to share with the chicken with yoghurt - the sauce has amazing depth of flavour, bit of heat and creamy. Get the hot meze then try the rest of the menu. Incredible flavours

we came here on a recommendation and I’m so glad we did. The food was unbelievable. Each dish on the menu is a recipe from one of the chef’s mothers. I think that ethos of this place is beautiful and you can tell that there was love into every dish. Just get yourself here, that is all I can say.

The food here is SO delicious... we'll definitely be coming back again ... and bringing friends. The Afghan chicken in yoghurt (their signature dish) is just sublime. Tuck in!

The nicest people, great food, great location

The food was excellent. And the owners and staff were very attentive. Appreciate that many restaurants are now dependent on good Google reviews, however we were asked to give a review at least five times which was a bit annoying. This restaurant is so good that the food speaks for itself. The owners/staff should not be anxious about repeat custom. We will be going again and reccomending the excellent food and service to people we know!
