Dunston Lucky Garden in Gateshead

Great little take away weve used a few times over the past year. They prepare so promptly and its alway ready to collect on time which must be hard to keep on track like they do. We have really enjoyed every dish everytime and the value is excellent! Thank you lucky garden...keep up the good work!

Me and my family been using this takeaway a few times, must say tonight was on another level! Absolutely amazing food, we had house special curry, and chicken chow mein, and a portion of salt nd pepper chips. All food was very fresh and tasty. Only improvement needed was maybe a few more king prawns in the curry dish. But once again lovely food, fast delivery, and very nice staff!

Not the cheapest but nice food from here. Will use again. Kitchen looked nipping clean.

This is in someways a complaint and an observation. My House Special Chow Mein in Sauce last night 9/8/2024 was not up to your normal standard . There was less chicken but extra of the other meats , no mushrooms or small corn cobs , no little crunchy round things ( taste like potatoes) and the sauce was in a tub ( more like a thick gravy ) not within the main meal like it normally is, It didn’t taste like the typical sauce in the chow mein, I really did not enjoy it. Maybe you have a different variation of this special but I always just order the house special on its own as it’s a meal in itself and I accidentally have had the wrong one delivered .

Quality of produce used in the food is fantastic, service is great too. Only complaint I have is since the containers have been changed for the sauces from Polystyrene to plastic this taints the taste of the sauces otherwise this would have been a 5 out of 5.

3rd time ordering from here with the same order. Each time the food has been different and the 3rd time was slimy, inedible and cold. Prawn crackers are always thin and mostly smashed to bits. Will never been ordering again

I have been looking for a Chinese like this for a very long time, Absolutely incredible food, even the rice was amazing Free prawn crackers and we got two full meals for £18 - food was absolutely delicious, super quick and piping hot, you literally can not get this anywhere, I’ve tried all Chinese’s in Newcastle and this is 100% the best without fail

Decriminatory towards staff and clients with autism and adhd

Food is absolutely amazing from here by far my favorite Chinese EVER. Staff are so nice & friendly we ordered to pick up & where given a wait time of 45mins which we expected because it's a Friday night but after about 15mins they rang to say it was ready 😍. Definitely get your money's worth portions are massive. Wouldn't go anywhere else now

Ordered from here a few times as others had let us down with choice and quality recently. Really glad I did as have had a few great meals from them now. Traditional recipes, cooked well and realistic delivery times. Now our go to place.

Have used lucky garden in the past after they took over sing wah, was disappointed with first order. But gave them another try tonight and pleasantly surprised :-) Here they have also taken over hung hing, just hope they keep the shredded duck, and the chunky onions in the curry:-) delivery driver was lovely aswell so will defo have some money for a tip next time.

Disgusting king prawn chow main nearly choked that dry

My first time ordering from here (Sun Wah, was closed). The online ordering was very easy, the food was delivered by a very friendly guy in about 50 minutes. Everything was still hot. The Singapore style vermicelli was delicious, as were the BBQ ribs. Prawn crackers were just as I like them. The spring rolls were lovely, but they weren't crispy except at the ends - that's the only "negative". Still nice though. The prawn toast was delicious (if just slightly on the line of too well done). As my first experience of Lucky Garden, it was extremely positive, and I'm really happy to have found them. It was a touch pricier than Sun Wah, but not much. Overall: fantastic job! Thank you.

Great service, good prices and reasonable delivery on a Saturday night. Portions are generous and the food is tasty. Favourites were honey/chilli crispy beef, prawn toast, chicken wings and garlic prawns. The Thai chicken wasn't super authentic. The chicken dumpling filling and the garlic chilli crispy beef needed a bit more flavour - but forgiven for the generous portions. Can recommend

I’ve been living in Newcastle for 4 years now and have never been able to find a Chinese that I think is really good. This Chinese is PHENOMENAL - everything was piping hot even though I live 15 mins drive away and it all tasted amazing. I will 100% be re ordering from here.

Best Chinese food In the area restaurant quality at takeaway prices always a warm welcome and quick service also the best salt and chilli chicken with chips and curry sauce. Great to see them every Friday.

I must admit the price here made me hope the food would be pretty good quality, but at best it was Average, have had much better. Only good thing was it was hot. I hear it has changed owners so maybe big improvements, will update my review soon......

Last minute decision for Chinese on New years day and this was the only one we could find as open from several Google searches. (Turns out most were open after all). Meal for four plus sides ordered and collected in ten minutes, piping hot with free prawn crackers. Food was fairly good but chicken apparently a bit chewy. Big portions. Would go again.

The price for the food leaves you expecting something better than is delivered. The food I ordered came to almost £10 and it was only crispy beef with rice and a sauce. For that price I'd expect restaurant quality food but it was just pretty average.
