3.40pm for tea and a pastry. 2/3rds of the seating was closed off for cleaning before closing at 4, despite customers still arriving. Miserable purple haired stereotype behind the counter wouldn’t switch on the microwave to heat up a pastry which was too stale to eat cold, and the charming lady I handed it back to after taking one small bite and stating I couldn’t eat it just said “humph” and stood there staring at it. Sat down again and continued drinking tea for 15 more minutes after complaint but zero effort was made by any staff member to apologise or reimburse for the food I had to leave on the counter. Wouldn’t be surprised if they put it back on display for somebody else to buy and choke on. Robbed of £2 and left hungry for the privilege, needless to say I won’t be going there again.

Served in cafe pausa by an Oriental gentleman who was really pleasant. Not just with us but everyone. He smiled, was extremely warm, welcoming with a touch of humour. What more could you ask for?!!!! A big improvement to normal visits here. Keep hold of him. He’s a diamond!

On the visit to Dunelm we made an impromptu visit for lunch to the cafe as it happened to be 8 minutes to midday. On queueing for a while (all the whilst in suspense to find out if the servers had been paid the correct wages) we ordered two jacket potatoes; to which we were told they don't start serving these until midday a mere 8 minutes away. There were customers having to ask for their tables to be cleaned whilst we waited to be served, as there were none available that had been cleared of previous customers. The only open table left which we sat at had the previous occupants left over toast over most of the 5 chairs and leftover drinks still on the table.

Friendly and polite staff. NEVER an issue when ever I go. Highly recommend this cafe to anyone. Happy hour is an amazing idea. Really like how frappe and iced coffees are now part of happy hour. Highly recommend them on a hot Sumner day

Was met by one of the staff who was really out with the track and trace system. Should concentrate more on quality of food. I ordered a fish finger sandwich, it arrived on a big ,dry bap, fish was cooked to a frazzle, no mayo or tartare sauce, I couldn’t eat it, just munched on the cinder-like filling. Complained to the staff, was just fobbed off, spoke to me as though I’d not a brain in my head , wouldn’t go again, actually it spoiled the day for me and my three friends 🤭

I queued 12 minutes to be served - all I wanted was a coffee. It took 2 minutes to prepare. The service was very slow indeed although I could see that the 3 members of staff were doing their best. They just needed more staff. The coffee was good - but the queue wait was unacceptable. The tables weren't being cleared - other customers were clearing tables so that they could sit down. The upholstered seats were dirty and tables weren't clean. I would definitely not recommend this place at all which is a shame as the shop is good.

Stopped here for a coffee and decided to have lunch. Jacket potatoes and toasties on offer we chose the former. Decent sized, loads of filling and a side salad. Good value and tasty. Coffee was good too.

Pleasingly, no change from what I wrote before - a good cafe, prompt and very cheerful service, limited food offering but no problems there. Drinks excellent. Clean toilets very close by. Although the cafe is on the first floor, it is lift served.

Very nice cafe. Place was clean and tidy. Staff were lovely and attentive. Coffee was very nice, cakes were excellent. Would recommend highly if you're in Dunelm Mill and you're spitting feathers

I often call in here when shopping at Dunelm Preston - it's a nice place for a pit stop. Great coffee - the snacks are a bit limited, especially later in the day when supplies run down, which I suppose is understandable but nevertheless disappointing, but service is cheerful and the prices are very reasonable. The café is on the first floor - lift served, and the toilets are close by - clean and tidy.

First visit to Dunhelm.Good range of Home Waresss Curtains ,Cushions, Domestic electrical ,Kitchen etc.Whilst my wife started open wallet surgery,I spotted a café. Excellent I stopped for a bacon butty and a cup of tea. Clean and tidy, pleasant staff. What more do you want. I spied some nice dried flowers, small treat for the wife. The cashier who served me was very Helpful. A lady called Jo. Ive been in retall the last 40 yrs. I hope the manager sees this and gives her a pat on the back, Will definately return.

Very poor. We called in for a cream tea. No cream. It is Bank Holiday and they should resource appropriately. Very disorganized, chaotic and badly managed. I saw other customers actually leave at the till when they were told products were not available. Dismal

Such a good idea to have a cafe above dunelm, I’ve noticed a lot of elderly people come here for coffee and a snack and how positively the staff act towards them. A few times I’ve been, a member of staff has carried over an elderly individuals tray or been super patient in helping with their charge or listening to stories. The food is nice, I do like the toasties and the lemon meringue cake too, only negative would be the coffee syrup. My mum always asks for not too much syrup in a caramel latte which the person at the till usually forgets to pass onto the barista. I’m not sure as I’m no expert but watching them put 8-10 pumps of caramel into a small coffee doesn’t sound too right to me.

My wife and I have previously visited this coffee and snack bar on the pleasant upper floor of Dunelm mill. Sadly we have noticed that the same staff who clear the tables are now expected to actually make up the orders as well as serve on the counter. The snacks and coffee are still good but it no longer seems as clean or organised as it once was which is a great pity because it used to be a relaxed oasis of calm with little queuing. The staff are friendly but obviously harassed.

The cafe is situated on the mezzanine floor of the Store, in a great position to watch the world go by on the extensive ground floor. Great for snacks and coffee/tea, both of which are more than acceptable. Good service and very reasonable prices. Can recommend for a "pit stop" whether or not you use the Store.

Enjoyed a lovely breakfast at Dunelm Mill cafe. The food was tasty and the staff were friendly and helpful!

Food is as you would expect but we mean better than how that sounds. Service very friendly and they give you all the time in the world if you want to chat with your friends. We like it here.

We called here late afternoon Wednesday, there was two or three staff putting dishes away as we were at the counter _ they carried on with various tasks, completely ignoring us, for a few minutes until one said to the other "are you going to serve"? We ordered drinks and toasties. Very couldn't care less sloppy service, our drinks were long finished before the toasties arrived _ l suppose this cafe has a captive audience it being in dunhelm but we won't be using it again, amazes me that anyone does.

Realmente me gusta este café. Ha sido varias veces recientemente porque el servicio es bueno, el personal es muy amable y creo que es bastante razonable. Hacen un especial de una bebida caliente y un pastel de Misa del gallo por sólo £3. 10 y en lo que a mí respecta, es muy buena la relación calidad-precio. Te dan una galleta con su té/café, pero luego la Misa del gallo pastel no es su barato insípido Misa del gallo como tarta que hay en algunos cafés, es grande, con una buena cantidad de llenado y lo sirven calientes si así lo desea. ¡Genial!

Mi esposa y yo a menudo pop en este café que se encuentra en el piso superior de la tienda Dunhelm mill a metros de distancia del centro de la ciudad en la calle Santa Elena, en un pequeño parque industrial. Bocados ligeros y sabrosos aperitivos y pasteles se ofrecen aquí y el personal detrás del mostrador de autoservicio muy serviciales. Se conserva limpio y es un buen lugar para relajarse después de las compras. La tienda también tiene comodidades privadas y niños pequeños están bien atendidos. Ambiente muy agradable y durante la temporada de invierno tienen un pastel llamado algo como Chocolate Cake que Rumpy baches es riquísimo pero no contar las calorías.

Señorita en su propio estantes era proveer con frescos sándwiches, etc.; nos paramos en el mostrador esperando otro asistente para servirnos: ninguno llegó! Pedimos que alguien dijo señorita deberías estar allí, y después de una larga espera llegó a servirnos como nadie apareció! Señorita pidió disculpas, y sirvió con una sonrisa; era un domingo por la mañana, pero la tienda estaba relativamente lleno.

Visited here as was in the area and they to great toasted fruit bread. Seemed understaffed behind counter. Coffee was cold. Fruit bread lovely. Would visit again

El personal en este café necesita una medalla. Cada vez que visite son menores de personal pero muy educado y siempre me hacen sentir bienvenido.

We went at 4.30, I asked was they still open and they said yes. They were getting ready for the next day which is understandable but the lack of customer service was shocking it was like we had dared to inconvience them. The women behind the till was just a miserable cow to be honest she really annoyed me. The only thing they have in there favour is there is no other cafes round there so captive audience. Get another cafe round there and no one will bother with this one and wouldn't blame them.

Popped on after spending a small fortune in the main shop. It was 430 on a Saturday. Supposed to close at 6 but half stuff wasn't available including any hot food, as they were preparing to close. One of the women staff was in a rift mood and slamming around with her face set! It look nearly 20 mins to be be served 2 hot chocolates and 2 scones! Service was just awful. Not impressed!

This place is without doubt the worst in store coffee shop/ cafe I have ever visited!I was with my wife and her mother shopping and my Father in law and I thought we would have a cup of tea whilst we waited for the ladies.... What a mistake!The whole concept of quality and customer service is not present at this place Don't get me wrong please it's not that we set our sights too high I mean what's difficult about a coffee and a sandwich? I'll list the two main problems....• poor rude staff ( chatting between themselves and appeared uninterested )• poor quality drinks and food (stale)If this passable retail store don't want to drown in this departments disgraceful performance; they need to close and rebrand the facility and relaunch it!Come to think of it however I try I can't find one good point!

We decided to have a quick coffee and some toast with our daughter.The staff were in conversation with each other but did stop to serve us. Our order of two pieces of toast was soon forgot and after 15minutes we were still waiting. We asked staff about our order to which the staff member who served us "Kate" just replied I sorry I forgot! 5 mins later we received the order from another member of staff who had spent the majority of the time we were waiting talking to a customer who was clearly her friend.I don't think we'll be going back in a hurry. It's such as shame as its a nice space, just a shame the menu and staff are poor.

We called in on a cool wet day and the cafe was freezing as the air con was on and it certainly was not the weather for air con!We ordered 2 cappuccinos. The two girls behind the counter were in an intense conversation so we had no eye contact and no interaction as they were too busy with their chit chat all the time we were waiting and being served.The cappuccinos were poor, the barest amount of froth on top and pretty weak.I don't know if the girl who made the cappuccinos has been trained on how to make them but she certainly needs to be!The tables we checked were all unclean; crumbs on them and streaky and the chairs had crumbs on.We've enjoyed cappuccinos in this cafe in the past but it will be a long time before we go back!If ever!
