Food is very good and same as before. Ordered on the phone and it was ready when I arrived to collect. Nice to see new generation taking over a well established business.

While doing deliveries in the area I was lucky enough to sample THE BEST spicy chip butty ive ever had. Chips were epic, spice was just right and next time I’m in the area I will definitely be going back for more!!

I wish they changed with the times.

Had a spicy special chip butty today & it didn’t disappoint. Food is class, the place is immaculate, smells unreal & the lady (owner I think) were really polite.

The special chip butty truly takes some beating! The bun cradles the chips without falling apart. Absolutely finger licking good! Not only was the food top-notch, but the service was also excellent. The portion size is spot on, hitting the right spot. A must-try for anyone!

Went here over the weekend with my family for the first time, and was pleasently greeted by owner who gave us great advice on what to order. Food was lovely and the pili pili sauce was perfection. Would definitely go back.

Just got my weekly fix of a chip butty special and it’s tastes just as good as back in the day of Duka Ya Tambu. Definitely would recommend the Veggie Burger, Jackets and Paninis too.

Was doing deliveries in the area and popped in here for a quick bite to eat. I had a chip butty with spicy sauce and wow what a treat tasted amazing and has you licking your lips after. The place was spotless and the lady that served me was fantastic a true asset to any business. I will visit again.

It’s been a long time since I have visited.. Same taste/freshness, and overall quality sets the standard.. Service was impeccable and it was an honour having bumped into Mr P, whilst there.. look forward to my next visit.

DYT2 is always a go to for us as the food is delicious and the owner is very friendly and very helpful, too. She always listens to what you want and makes sure it is perfect. The dirty chip butty, jacket potatoes and the salad box are our all time favourite.

It's very easy to say food fantastic, service great but this needs more then that... Been meaning to come back here since knew opened back up, in my promoting days used to come here quite frequently when was original DYT n have the special chip butty, uncle tbh knew what wanted when walked in 🤣. So fast forward to now..Came in and was warmly greated by a lady who later found out is daughter of the original owner! I asked for the chip butty that her dad used to famously serve...she jokingly said it was her mum who actually did the food and dad served lol. From the 1st bite it took me back! Yes is so many places doing chip butty these days but I don't think will ever come close to this shop! The daughter who now runs the business is brilliant, as ate in you could see her interaction with all customers, something her dad did extremely well too can tell that parents have taught her well not only on food side of it but also the customer service side of it too! Honestly if your not sure where to go or what to eat I seriously recommend you coming here... FANTASTIC PLACE Will 💯 % be back soon. Hopefully get to see Uncle next time I do go which will be soon :) Thank you once again for the food and amazing memories :-)

Omg the food is amazing here. I had the veggie burger and the dirty fries , can’t wait to try more things from the menu. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, see you again soon.

Planned to get a take away from here, opening time said open till 7pm. Called to place an order around 5:50 and was told they have packed everything away and closing as no orders came in! Shame as I had to find somewhere else to go and they’ve lost my custom.

Absolutely love this place! I have been coming here since the original duk ya tambu and not once have they let me down. The chips and chip butties are always amazing and the owners are very friendly :) Would definitely recommend to everyone.

What a delight to know the original Duka Ya Tambu is back! I had stopped eating chip butties as none could match their masala-sauces taste. Great shop for snacks with friendly people and service.

So happy to see Duka Ya Tambu back and the same familiar faces. The food tastes just as good and reasonably priced too. We had the famous vegi burger and pili pili chips (nice, hot and spicy). Same friendly welcome. The daughter runs the business now. She was very friendly too. Nice to see she is carrying on her parents legacy and I wish her all the very best. I hope customers are kind with their reviews here, for this new business. If you have a negative comment then raise it with the owner first before leaving comments here. Be kind. I have met her briefly yesterday and from what I have gathered, I think she would welcome constructive feedback.

I’ve had a few things from the menu at DYT2 and they all taste amazing. Food is always served hot and fresh and the customer service is amazing. Definitely be getting a takeaway from here again and recommend DYT2 to all friends and family

I had a TA from here a few days back and to say the food was good is an understatement! Not only was it freshly prepared but the original taste from DYT was still there…..Highly recommend and next time I’m in Leicester, it’s the only place I’m going to for my burger and chips 😋😋

Came here yesterday and wow threw me back to my childhood loved it so much .. thank you 🙌💛 .. the best part was the return of the original taste .. lemon and spice was good but the chips wasn’t quite right glad to have you back

DYT2 is a long awaited reopening shop for fast food (veggi) I used DYT back when it was open many years ago. Now it has reopened I can have my fill again without any loss of quality. The service is awesome with some friendly banter I use it very regular and have never had any problems.

Had takeaway from here last week for the first time after rave reviews from family of when it was operating years ago and used to love going there. Unfortunately, I thought it was mediocre at best. I ordered the Chips with Pili Pili and Cheese and Chip Butty Special. What let these down was the portion size and the actual chips. The portion was very small considering you’re paying roughly £4 per dish you would expect a decent size. I wish I had taken a photo. The chips were frozen chips that were fried. Perhaps I had set my expectations high after having “masala” style chips from other places which use actual fresh cut chips. I’ve given three stars because I like the concept, the history to it and the actual taste of the pili pili flavour. This could potentially be a great place but needs to address the shortcuts as there’s plenty of places for food choices in the area.
