Duffield Balti & Grill in Amber Valley

Just about the best Indian takeaway food that we've had for a long time. The food is always as we have ordered, it's always hot and comes with 2 free poppadoms and chutney. Wouldn't use anywhere else now.

This is a great little gem located in Derby, catering for a wide range of appetites, from Currys to pizzas. The Duffield special burger was excellent as well as the madras curry. I did order quite a lot of food as there were a number of us. The tandoori mix grill was phenomenal and we all loved the flavours, you could really tell the chef puts in a lot of effort in towards the food. The customer service there is also amazing, staff pay a lot of attention to detail. Mr Miah attended to all of our needs and gave us exquisite recommendations. Keep up the hard work, this is definitely one that I recommend if you are ever in Derby.

had a takeaway delivered from here tonight, absolutely lovely, delivered hot, popadoms and pickles starters, lamb madras, which was nicely hot, nan and rice. Would recommend based on tonight’s meal, I’ll definitely be using them again 👍😀

I dropped in last night - famished on my way home from work.. I'd not been there in a few years, and heard it had recently changed hands... Was really pleasantly surprised . . Was met by one of the owners Ali - had a good chat . . Both the shop and menu has been totally revamped.. big emphasis on their curries now (although they still do good kebabs and pizzas I'm told) . . I went for a lamb chilli chicken and lemon rice.. Ali gave me option of having it a little hotter if I wanted it - which I did . . . Got food home - piping hot and generous quantities . . Really good aroma and flavour . . Unexpected poppadum and pickle on the side - a nice touch. . . Really well balanced meal - tasty but not overpowering with a nice gentle heat build up.. loved it - couldn't have asked for anything more. Price very reasonable too.. will definitely be going back - my wife is already perusing the takeaway menu and keen to try the vegetarian Tawa's . . . Really positive first impression - thanks guys!

We had a beautiful delivery from here tonight,food was amazing and warm,very easy to order by phone and very friendly on the phone too,delivery was brilliant,my mum said it was the best burger she’d ever had,me and my brother had curries and they were spot on would highly recommend thanks so much.Emma Belper

I saw the bad reviews but decided to try here anyway, and I was pleasantly surprised! Paneer starter was delicious, my main of vegetable biryani and naan also very nice. A few more chickpeas in the biryani would improve it, as well as a few more aromatics in the biryani curry sauce, but it is tasty as it is and better than many other 'local takeaways' I've tried - hence the 5*s. Polite upon delivery as well. We will be returning, thank you!

Absolutely wonderful curry - just perfect! Delivery was prompt and everything was piping hot. The food tasted absolutely amazing and I couldn't fault it. In fact, it's the best Indian food I've ever eaten. This is definitely going to be our new regular takeaway from now on! ☺️👍🏼

One of my favourite places to get a takeaway. Great guys in the shop and speedy service after ordering, in fact I ordered on-line the last time we visited and 15 minutes later we arrived and our order was ready and waiting for us and exactly whst we had ordered. The choice of different foods is extensive and all excellent quality.

I come here quite often. Always impressed. On my most recent visit, service was brill. My wait was slightly delayed by a couple of minutes, and without me even referencing it, they gave a few things on the house to apologise. See you again soon

VERY stingy with the meat, literally 5 small pieces of chicken tikka in the curry - not even one breast worth. I ordered a balti and it was more like a slightly curry flavoured soup with a few bits of chicken floating in it. Disappointing.

We ordered 20 dishes for 5 families to be delivered to the park after Little Eaton Carnival. These guys were brilliant, so accomodating and the food was delicious. We'll definitely be ordering again.

Very disappointed in the large tikka donner there was no donner meat to speak of just end bits, had pre orderd it too. Very disappointed 😢

Lovely local farm shop. Cafe with setting inside, best to book if possible and setting outside. Shirehorses with folds at the moment. May 19th 2022.

Pizzas - good and tasty Kebabs - delicious Curries - pretty good, could do with leaving out the food colouring It's very reasonably priced and the staff are very friendly too. A good place and I'll go here again.

Food was not fresh went in the bin! Shish kebab was reheated in pizza oven….. very traditional Indian cuisine cooked in a pizza oven! Meat was rock hard and tasted disgusting. I don’t think rats would eat it. Very disappointing! Worst kebabs I’ve ever purchased, should be ashamed of even serving customers with that.

The reviews seemed to be very mixed and I wasn't too sure about trying the Duffield Balti. I'm glad I did. I phoned in my order and collected within twenty minutes. As I arrived, I saw the pizzas coming straight from the oven. They were very tasty and had plentiful cheese and toppings. Wednesday was two for one night, so I saved a lot of money too.

RAW CHICKEN!!!! - Hadn't used them for a while despite being only a few hundred yards from our house and now I know why. Called at 5.40pm for a 7pm collection but upon arrival they had not even started the order. They rushed it through in 15 minutes and then when home and tucking into our food we discovered raw chicken (see pic) - I will not be visiting again!!!.

Their 3 out of 5 star Hygiene rating is over rated. Not very clean, staff lack basic hygiene standards. Surprised they are still allowed to stay open. Avoid 🤮

I ordered a delivery of Peri Peri chicken thighs, chips and onion rings. When it arrived the chicken was some sort of wafer thin chicken fillet, the frozen chips were still frozen but lightly browned on the outside and the onion rings were cold rings of grease and were as bendy as rubber. I gave them a ring but they were unable to offer me a replacement meal at that time. No chicken thighs I guess. However, the manager said that next time I should ring the shop and they’d deliver the meal free of charge. Tonight when I phoned to take up his offer the staff were hostile and aggressive. They asked for proof that I had complained and then said they would cook the meal but I would have to come and pick it up as they were too busy to deliver. The man I spoke to was very rude and just spoke over me all the time. They were not too busy to deliver it if I wanted to pay of course. I told them that I no longer wanted the meal as it was supposed to be a goodwill gesture and they were showing precious little goodwill. Then he put the phone down on me. It’s up to you if you order from here but the food is pretty terrible and they don’t honour their promises. Plus they are super rude and aggressive

Takeaway was very poor - inedible saag paneer, very pale limp chips, poor pizza. Phoned to complain; was offered a replacement meal to the same value on another night. Just tried to order and they rescinded on their offer. Used many times over the years, appalling food and rude customer service - Avoid at all costs.

Nice food but late every time and tonight turned up 35mins late offering no discount. Told them to go away! Will never order from them again.

Order wrong, manager very aggresive, hung up when we complained about missings items. Would never use again.

Order thrown together with items missing, notes not read when ordering through just eat. Very disappointing

ordered a take away arrived half an hour late, there was no rice, the chips were warm and unappetising, the poppadums were soft and the chicken tikka was luke warm, definaltely wont bother again

It was a lovely takeaway based in Duffield that states "Free Delivery" & we are only in Mackworth. We've ordered from these most weekends for a year or so now & I'm not talking a £10 order when the friends & family are around! But then they started being Picky about when they could deliver!!?? They will deliver to you if they can be bothered, Or if your near another customer. We waited nearly 2 hours for our food & still wanted full price....NO! Rang up this weekend & ordered, We got a call back 10 minutes later saying we have to order over £15 for free delivery & there will be a £2.50 charge for delivery!!?? I asked the man on the phone why it has changed & he said "boss man said"... Mmmm Most the time they get the order wrong anyway because they don't listen. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! VERY RUDE!!!

Ordered a lamb balti and it came with 3 pieces of lamb in it the rest was all onion and peppers. My son orders from here on a regular basis so not sure what has happened this evening. Must of ran out of lamb !

Used the Balti and recommended to customers of my establishment but will no longer do so. Poor service delivering to wrong addresses and refusing to deliver within their allocated hours

I ordered a vegetarian meal at the weekend. A Mixed Vegetable Korai, Saag Paneer, Saag Aloo and Tarka Daal. It was fantastic. I'm not a vegetarian but my daughter is, and it was marvelous.

Ordered a takeaway this evening, arrived on time, the food was delicious, we had a set meal for two, tikka starter was succulent and tasted amazing full of flavours the main course was just as good and even the onion bajis tasted great, best Indian takeaway I've had around here for a long time. Great value for money too. Thank you!

Used to be superb food but gone down hill lately. Chicken tika used to be cooked on the gridle and was excellent but most stuff now comes from out of the back room and is spicier than before. Staff usually friendly.
