Drouthy Neebors in North Ayrshire

Popped in whilst visiting Largs as part of a work trip. Was apprehensive at first, as smaller pubs full of locals can feel daunting, but i was so wrong. I could not have felt more welcome. Food was amazing, and i would highly recommend Haggis fritters, which i had as a starter. The portion sizes were great, and the food arrived so quickly that I was able to catch the train back a hour earlier than i had planned. Will absolutely be back next time im up this way!

Staff were so friendly and helpful. I even got a wee heart on my latte. Would highly recommend

Great pub. Was in yesterday to watch rugby and the pub was very busy. Great atmosphere and the staff were friendly and efficient. We will be back for food next time. Would definitely recommend.

A friend had booked a table for food before heading out to the local Theatre, when we arrived it was jam packed due to England V Scotland Rugby, this didn't bother us, we were taken to our table through the back which was a bit quieter but staff had to ask people to leave the table so we could sit, staff then cleared away plates then gave us a cloth to wipe our own table and asked if we wanted the glasses taken away!! They were not our glasses to begin with!! After about 20 minutes my friend battled through the crowd to order at the bar to be then told the kitchen was closed, they couldn't cope anymore, this was a poor show from staff as they could have told us when we came in, so we left and went else where, we won't be back here, it has put us off.

Food served hot and fast, great atmosphere all around too! Staff well organised and very friendly!

Fab bat staff, service and atmosphere

Great food great service great atmosphere. Myself and family popped in yesterday for food and were very impressed. The atmosphere was very good and staff so attentive we stayed for the rugby. New customers now.

Was in the drouthy Neebors for mid afternoon lunch today with 3 friends and gotta say that the staff were really helpful and lovely to speak to and the food was actually really nice, fish was cooked great and the burger's myself and one of my friends had we're really tasty 😋 staff couldn't help enough especially with one of our friends having a coffee and it was brought to our table, lovely place, lovely staff and friendly atmosphere, highly recommend this pub 😀

In Drouthies,,watching the rugby,and had a tex Mexican sharer which was very good..Staff very pleasant and friendly.It is our local and will stay that way

Ordered a chicken sandwich with chips, and balmoral chicken with mash and a couple of soft drinks. Got a chicken sandwich with a side of wilted salad, and got balmoral chicken with chips with a wait for our cutlery. Chicken was positively cremated at least 2 days prior to being microwaved; chips were still frozen in the middle and when I questioned why I didnt have mash with the meal, I got an argument that I read it wrong. I hadn't. There was no mention of chips anywhere near my meal. Theres positive reviews talking to the friendliness of the staff and how they will recommend places to eat, listen to them. We went to Greggs afterward for a cold sausage roll and enjoyed our stay, and our food more than we did at droothy neebors. Rotten scran.

Dog friendly and good atmosphere

This was our 1st time in Drouthy Neebours went in to eat pub was busy lots of locals always a good sign,Although pub was very busy we didn't wait long for food to arrive we had Cheese burger cooked the way requested Scampi delicious staff attentive and friendly. Will Definitely be back next time in Largs.good value and choice on menu.

Wonderful Hunters Chicken! Hadn’t had it before but I’ll have it again. Succulent chicken with cheese and bacon and a BBQ sauce. Fresh salad and fries as well. Great value pub grub! Really good. Recommend this meal and this place.

Whenever I visit Largs I always make a point of calling in at Drouthy Neebors, great atmosphere, good value tasty food.... unfortunately 2nd night I was there the chef was off...but I'll be back, great pub.

I was told it was an hour for food to be served, which was fine, but couldn't order food for a hour either as my order would have included a drink as part of the deal I had to buy drinks then 15 minutes later I was told I could now order. They could have taken my order and gave me my included drinks. Also, toilets were filthy. I don't think they are checked regularly, disappointing for somewhere that sells food and drink.

Strange pub, no one clears glasses from tables. In the "beer garden" for an hour. In that time 60+ glasses accumulated. Place was a shambles and our own table had 9 used pint glasses and a full ashtray. Inside not much better....as I said Strange pub.

Lots of people had food,and they definitely enjoyed it, didn't have time to order as I was getting picked up outside for a return journey to Glasgow,but the drinks were fine The service from the bar staff,they were on top as regards orders. Great atmosphere

Stopped in for a pint & the barmaid was very welcoming & friendly. Bought Heavy Shandy & Double Vodka & Coke, was a total of £8 which was very good value IMO.

Went here with our 3 kids (20, 17, and 13) and were made to feel really welcome by the staff and other customers. We had drinks, and played pool for a couple of hours. We'd definitely go back.

Was in today for a pub lunch. Our wee dog Bustet was made so welcome. Food was fantastic and the bar staff were so friendly. Highly recommend and cheap as chips.

Brought a friend in for lunch and we had a wonderful fish, chips and mushy peas and a couple of drinks (of course). You can’t beat a fish supper by the seaside. Staff very attentive and friendly and located close to the coast and the train station. Many screens in the bar throughout showing the Olympics, so entertainment as well. A nice beer garden too. Recommended if you’re visiting Largs. 5 Stars 😊

Food was absolutely spot on, Steak Pie was on point. The staff were great & came to check on us every few minutes which was well appreciated. For a pub, this over-exceeded our expectations. Will certainly be back here.

The staff here are noticeably helpful and attentive, and even let us leave our luggage with them as a favour so that we could explore Largs and enjoy the great weather without the weight. Excellent service.

Visiting family and went for a meal together. Website gave us the impression that the food was above standard pub fare but were disappointed, especially considering we made an occasion of it. First of all there were about four things we tried to order off the menu that they didn’t have. I ordered the sirloin steak. They asked how I wanted it cooked but it was nowhere near medium rare. It was overcooked and rubbery. I actually thought they got my order wrong and they gave me a thin pork chop. All in all it’s pretty average pub food. I’m only posting a review because I felt misled by the website. Also, Weirdly, the bartender apologized for not having mint for the margarita and asked if lime would be ok.

Worked in the area just over a year now. Started coming to the beer garden for food after work when the sun was out. Now I’ve started recommending it to folks! The chips are crispy and seasoned and the burgers are delicious, must be a good chef! There’s also a wee snooker table and the music isn’t too loud. Staff are always also lovely! Would bring more folks here!

Absolutely spot on. We were caravanning nearby and needed a local pub to watch the football to save us an hour+ drive home to watch it. Thankfully we came across this gem, which was also dog friendly (win!). We spent several hours here, two adults, two children (7&9), and one dog. There was water and treats for the doggo, we all had lunch, drinks, and dessert, and were pleased with our meals and in particular the attentiveness of the staff. Additionally, there was free pool, which our children enjoyed. Loads of screens to watch the game, and we won to top it off :) staff and patrons congratulated us on the win of our team too, which is absolutely brilliant when you think of the issues football can cause in some places. We felt very welcome all round and if we are ever in Largs again, we will definitely return. Thank you very much :)

Was looking forward to eating here so Booked a table on Sunday for 4.15pm, got in and seated then was told the chef was on a break for 45 minutes 🤔 had 2 children with us who were very hungry. We left to find somewhere else and came across THE THREE REASONS. Which did not disappoint :)

Very friendly and attentive staff. It was great that it was dog friendly with the provision of water and snacks. We both chose from the £7.49 menu (chilli chicken wrap with chips/chicken avocado wrap with skin on fries with each including a drink). If you’re in Largs this is definitely the place to visit.

Stopped in with our fussy eater of a niece and i quote “the best and cheesiest mac&cheese everrrr” also got the lasagna all food was delicious and such a big portion! Staff were really friendly and couldnt do more thanks!😁

2nd time visitors here and again blown away with the welcome allowed to bring mobility scooter inside staff very friendly and knowledgeable food cooked to perfection fresh and piping hot definitely a place to visit if in largs wish I could give 10 stars as I would thanks again

2nd visit today. Had food on second visit. Mixed grill was best I've had in a long while. The better half had sirloin steak which she says she thoroughly enjoyed. Not in largs often but, always eat here.

Good pub for a drink but absolutely disgusting food my wife had hunters chicken and it was sent back because it was cold I had the mixed grill the rump steak under cooked the chicken was burnt on the outside and under cooked in the middle and the gammon steak looked as if it was cooked for about 1 minute and then run over by a bus think they should invest in a chef instead of using a so cold cook as even hospital food is better I would say if you want well cooked tasty food then go to the GEORGE across the road as it’s much better.

Great pub for watching the Sheff Wed v Hull game (despite the result!). Good value food and friendly staff too. Will definitely be back as Hull have another couple of televised games coming up.

Food very bad chicken was not for human consumption , side salad was a bunch of dryed out rocket nothing else ! The chef needs to smile & have customer service, also his uniform really badly creased & discoloured . The bar tender /waiter was friendly & mannerly . The Chicken that bad looking I had my dog with me & I. wouldn’t feed the dog it . Nice chips that was it .

What a fantastic pub!! So much positive and effective change has been done to this place and you can't half tell x I visited here with my family and it exceeded my expectations in every way. Team are fantastic and very attentive, food was delish. They have a great range of drinks and food menus to suit everyone including my fussy child x overall I really recommend this pub to anyone looking for great food and drink. Came in for food And a pint and the pub did not disappoint Came in and had the mixed gill which was awesome even got asked if i wanted a peppercorn sauce which went well with the food Place was clean and tidy and they were promoting xmas events like breakfast with Santa and a festive brunch. Seen they also had karaoke live at the weekends All in all will defo be back

The boards outside advertised a wide selection of beers and wine but did not deliver. Belhaven Best, lots of lagers, Guinness and cider was the lot. Uncomfortably loud music in the lounge.

Food is awful my wife got the nachos that’s virtually all it was a plate of nachos . I got the lasagna tasteless and slimy in texture. If you want a pint no problem its a decent pub but if you want food there’s far better in Largs

What a great pub/restaurant. Between the bar, back area and beer garden, it is very spacious. The food was excellent and all of the staff were lovely. Can't fault this place and look forward to returning with the dogs for a bar lunch.

Lovely clean friendly pub with a good selection of good food and reasonably priced.

I was there at Largs, over a year ago. My ship pulled in on a routine maintenance during my deployment. I enjoyed Neebors, loved the Genius on tap. The owner/Manager is nice and respectful as well as the bartenders. The staff showed courtesy and respect for my Unit. Thank you Drouthy Neebors Staff.
