Well, so far not great because I can't even get a table booked! Called at 10:45am to book a table for 2, I was hung up on as soon as I said that. Tried to call back, went straight to voice mail. Called a few minutes later and the call was hung up again after a couple of seconds of silence (restaurant background noise could be heard). Oh well, I guess you don't even want customers in the door!

Great atmosphere and generous portions of food and is delicious. Would definitely recommend.

The food was very disappointing as it was frozen. When we told the waiter about our feelings, he just laughed in our faces. I did leave a good tip as I didn't feel this was his problem, on reflection I regretted leaving a tip after I thought about him laughing . We are Largs residents and eat out a couple of times each week, won't be back. The best places to eat are The Moorings and The Three Reasons, both have lovely staff and great food.

If you haven’t visited this place or eaten here, you are missing out on something delicious! I visited Largs on vacation from the US and our family was taken in by the beauty of this seaside location and its hip vibe. The ambiance is festive, the food is delicious, the staff are incredibly kind and accommodating especially to my child who has food allergies (they were able to find something safe for him to enjoy). If I ever return to Largs, I will be back. If you are in Largs or are planning a visit, you’ll want to add this stop to your itinerary!

What a fantastic meal! A bit fed up as the ferry to Great Cumbrae had us stranded in Largs overnight, we happened on Buena Onde for a meal. But I can honestly now say, i& it hadn’t been for the break down we’d never have enjoyed such a feast. A starter of Loaded Nachoes, easily enough for two, was proof we were in for a treat. The sharing grilled meat plata - a good side steak, two pork fillets, two chicken breasts, a regular sausage, a chorizo sausage, and slices of haggis, fries and salad (normally padron peppers) was cooked just right, tender and very tasty; and a t9 die for hazelnut, praline and chocolate torte! Largs May will on our route again, but as destination!

Good portion tapas, and tasty. We had Berejenas, Gambas and Pinto de Tzaka. But what we enjoyed most was the cocktails. best Mojitos we ever had. Nice sea view also. All perfect .

What a fantastic addition to Largs this place is. The food is some of the best we have ever come across and the waiting staff are first class. I have to say that they served 11 of us with amazing efficiency and in such a pleasant manner. Well done guys, you're all fantastic. Cannot wait to come back.

Visited this restaurant with my sister and brother in law from South Africa.It was a sunny day and we sat in the outside area overlooking the Clyde and Cumbrae.We ordered the mixed meat platter and mixed fish platter between us.The food was excellent and was generous in its serving.Unlike a lot of other restaurants you will not need chips to fill you up on the way home .Our server was Tebbe who was attentive, friendly and definitely deserved his tip.This was the second time at this restaurant for us and will definitely be back.Worth the drive from Cumbernauld.Keep up the good work.

August 2023 We come back to eat here after last summers great experience and we were not disappointed! Same great service and delicious food! The staff was really friendly, helpful and welcoming! My sister in law doesn't speak much english and when the waitress noticed that she is a tourist, she was explaining everything even better and slow her speech down. That's an exceptional customer service and rarely seen this days! July 2022 Great experience from start to finish! Fantastic view from the terrace, good food and very welcoming staff! Even the coffee was really good (which is very rare in the UK) I was very pleased to find a place on a seafront with a Mediterranean inspiration! I felt a bit like we are on a proper holiday even if we just popped down for a day trip. We really enjoyed our lunch here and will be back again!

Great place that we've mistakenly avoided for years. It's a well maintained cafe/restaurant reminiscent of the 70's seaside caffs, but this one is not down at heel! I love the design and architecture. We had paella-for-two at £28 which we ate from the pan! A litte over cooked but tasty, so I've added our before and after pics below! Today was mild enough to sit outside, and not too windy, but there's plenty of room inside as well. You can't leave Largs without an icecream from Nardini's!

We arriv at this fab restaurant , this time the weather has changed so we were seated indoors ! Jules the waitress was very attentive & great service … we chose the meat sharing board which was absolutely amazing , very generous helpings , steak especially delicious & juicy , Spanish sausages , chicken & green chillies ! We were soo full we had to have a wee box to take away , we also had water & a glass of rosez ! A wonderful evening & such a lovely welcome thankypu soo much great cheffing & see you all soon !

I noticed a reply to my mum sharon duffys review and I just want to add a reply to that my mum booked a good few week in advance as it was a birthday meal she was assured by the person on the phone that she would be able to get a window seat and a she also had email confirmation of this. The reason my mum done this is because my nana is very hard hearing and she thought a window seat would be better for her. We are Largs locals who could've been regular customers but due to poor customer service and cheeky reply's from owners who clearly value tourists who will only be in once rather than regular business we will not be back. Also as we walked out the door one of ur waiters also made a comment about how small of a tip, we only left a small tip due to poor service which is out of order lucky to even get tips in a lot of jobs people don't get tips. I'd avoid this place the customer service is poor and staff are rude!

The tapas are really authentic and you could be sitting looking out at the Bay of Roses in Catalunya. Food in general excellent and just a must visit for us.

I wouldn't recommend as our meals came out before our drinks and by the time we got our drinks the food was almost cold, no one asked us if we enjoyed our meal which we didn't, the front of house staff didn't really seem to care, really disappointing and we won't be back...

What a surprise the food was so good not small portions either went with son and daughter inlaw and grand daughter, service was great. friendly and helpful staff we will defo go back the tapes dishes were all lovely family had the different burgers we were all pleased with food .

We were recommended to go here so our 1st visit to the new eaterie for a lunch ! Tables are inside , 3 tables at the front of the building & shaded tables beyond outside with a view & more shelter from wind! We got a table out at entrance to building but jumped when a table became free under shades , perfect with a view & sheltered too! A wonderful Spanish tapas menu so we chose the 6 croquettes, mangano cheese , ham & black pudding so three flavours & plenty to share. Also a mangano cheese toasted on ciabatta really delicious & the other tapas was meatballs in a gravy sauce with carrots & onions really good too! Rosez & a beer on the side .. we felt we were in Spain ! Excellent service from Pauline & excellent cheffing in the kitchen! Loved the Spanish look of the interiors , the colours & the lampshades … we look forward to our next visit , well done everyone & to the new owners for giving us tapas in Largs !

Tables next to wall outside a little tight. Very busy during the day. Service fast and nice. Food tasty but from 4 non alcoholic cocktails half (2) unavailable. The other ones tasty. Burgers done very well. Toilets clean but tap from water liking.

Most colourful place to eat in Largs. Fantastic place for breakfast or lunch. Spanish themed menu with hot and cold tapas. Lots of sunny outdoor seating. Highly recommend

The situation is nice, with lovely views over the Clyde to the Cumbraes, Bute & Arran. There are screens & umbrellas to shelter you when sitting outside, which is great. The service was good, and the menu options are good & varied. We tried the smoothies & coffee, which were both really nice. We also tried the eggs Benedict and the smashed avacado, but were a little less impressed with those. The smashed avacado was just a tiny ramekin of guacamole, which was quite disappointing. Overall it was presented well, and the taste was decent, but it just felt a little underwhelming for the price. I'd still recommended trying the place, as received expectations are different, and I'll probably try it for dinner one evening, and will update this review if I do.

Lovely lunch in the sunshine, cracking wee sun trap on the Largs front! We are local to Largs and have been in a few times, staff are lovely and food is delicious, prices are affordable!

If you want to feel a bit special and welcome to a restaurant, as well as enjoy an evening out .....don't go to this restaurant. A very rude gentleman as well as a lady, who was there are probably the rudest restaurant staff we have ever met. Thank God , Connor was there to offer us manners and hospitality. As a Largs resident, I was so looking forward to showing this restaurant off to one of my visitors and recommending it to my friends in Largs but was disappointed with the welcome and hospitality offered by management so will not be able to visit again or recommend it to others.......although food was good, wine good but so disappointed that a Tapas Restaurant had run out of Chorizo. Although we had booked beforehand, we were allocated a table at the very back of the restaurant with no fans or safe air fliow.....despite there being lots of empty tables outside or better locations within the restaurant They did let us move, after a bit of a fuss to a cooler spot....but yet again the person in charge was so rude and could be classed as intimidating. Not one of the finest dining experiences we have had.....thank God for Connor. So disappointed that we will be unable to visit again.

Had booked a special birthday lunch today specifically requested a window seat as a special treat for my mum got there and was told that the ‘booking system ‘ had reallocated the window seats and they weren’t available even though the remained empty for the hr and half we were there totally spoiled it and the manageress cheeky indifferent attitude didn’t help, noticed we weren’t the only people not impressed as 2 other parties left without ordering wouldn’t go back

Absolutely blown away with the quality of the food and the staff. Lovely girl from Brazil /Ostrella ? (sorry!) served us and recommended the chicken skewers. Great choice ! There is a board of specials as well as the normal menu and everything I saw looked inviting. Well, apologies next….We ate outside and I so got into conversation with my neighbouring table I have only 1 photo to show of my wonderful meal. This was a lovely experience and I wholeheartedly recommend this gem of a restaurant. Lovely evening ☀️ I will be back soon with an update and more pics. Btw Buena Onda means Good Vibe…Appropriate name for a modern, passionate restaurant. Haste Luego 👍

Was in today as a family and asked if they had any gluten free cake . The guy serving said they only had gluten free lemon drizzle cake which was in a cabinet along with all of the other cakes. Being gluten free is not a life choice it's an intolerance to gluten when I pointed this out they didn't seem to know this.

Lovely tea room in a nice spot. Friendly staff and decent prices too.

If you are getting a take away drink from here please be careful when you try to take a drink as for some reason they use lids that don’t secure to the cups. Don’t understand why places that’s eel tea and coffee in take away cups buy cheap cup and lids that don’t fit. Wearing more coffee than I’ve drank.

Lovely atmosphere and fantastic service - a great alternative to some of the more old fashioned options in Largs

Friends and I had lunch at Buena Onda after a nice springtime seaside walk in Largs today. The food was delicious and the service prompt, pleasant and professional. There was a very good choice of dishes. I had a delicious veggie burger with fries and a salad side, and my friends shared some tapas dishes. My friends tell me that the house red was a lovely wine. We finished with great coffee. The cakes and pastries looked lovely, but we had no space for them this time. I would certainly recommend it and plan to visit again in the future.

This is a beautiful location, no doubt about that . However, management are dismal , sometimes verging on rude . No need for this . Be nice , it’s not hard , and value your customers if you want the business. Plenty of eating places to choose from in Largs , people go where they feel welcomed and comfortable.

Came for brunch and it was delicious. My eggs Benedict were perfect. Dessert was delicious. Can't wait to go back in the summer sun!

We've been here a couple of times since it opened last year and are booked to go again in a few weeks. Menu is varied with its own little twists, and food us always fab. Above all the service is excellent, and the warm welcome just adds to the fun, friendly feel. And the view across the sea to Cumbrae is wonderful - if you're lucky enough to get a clear day!

Ate here for lunch with a friend. The burger was tasty but very filling, served in a brioche bun. It came with fries, nice coleslaw and side salad. I had a chamomile tea which was a good quality tea bag. Good service. Nice decor. Handy car park just outside.

Absolutely love visiting Buena Onda! Everywhere has their teething problems when they first open but this place has well and truly shown what it’s like to serve good food and quality service. I love trying out the specials and always love taking my young son to eat here. He makes a lot of mess but the staff are always so welcoming and understanding which is very rare. We had a lovely meal picking from Tapas options,food was excellent and although the restaurant was busy staff were friendly and courteous.

We had breakfast there with the family. The food was very good and the service first class. The sorrundings were also very nice and great to be able to park at the front door.

Popped in here for breakfast having not even glanced at the menu outside. What a pleasant surprise to find it was extensive and included delicious smoothies. Along with a smoothy I had the pancakes which had been freshly made - what a treat. The restaurant/tea...

The house soup was OK, nothing special My ciabatta with pork and melted cheese was very much less than OK. Pork was dry and tasteless. The very minimum of melted cheese. The ciabatta was hard and dry. The side of chips and the friendly service was the best part of the lunch. Having lived in Spain for 15 years , this sort of offering was not acceptable. Will be giving this place a wide berth.

A gem of a restaurant, family run unlike so many soulless chain restaurants. The food was authentic and served with a genuine smile. The wine was brilliant also, hand chosen by the owner I was told and very well priced. Overall a great experience in relaxing and genuine surroundings. Great view of the Clyde also!

Not many authentic family run restaurants these days, but thankfully this is. Really good value considering the quality of the food and wine. It was a relaxing place with very attentive staff. We have been a few times now and it’s our favourite place now....

Popped in for lunch this afternoon on a wet and windy day in Largs. Seated straight away. The service was great. The Spanish Tomsto and Iberisn Ham Soup was delicious. After much consideration, decided to opt for the Chicken Skewers. They were cooked to perfection...

Loved our visit to Buena Onda. Tapas in the UK can be hit or miss, but these were among the best I've had. Not bad value for money either. The staff were friendly and helpful. Decent kids menu.

Really nice wee cafe/restaurant. Mainly a Spanish tapas style menu with a good range of choices. Everything I had was fairly tasty but a couple of dishes didn't really hit the mark. Very limited beer and wine list. Lovely outside seating are in the sun with wind protection from the water. It has a window of dreams for ice cream cones if you're passing by.

Buena Onda certainly stands out on the sea front with it's funky decor but it's the interesting selection on the menu that certainly drew me in. The toppings for the burgers especially. Ordering La Cantabria, when it arrived - it was a good size, piled with enough toppings where you didn't need a car jack to stretch your jaw open wide enough to get your mouth around it. The burger was really tasty, but by the end it was admittedly a little dry for my tastes. I think it might have been the burger bun but then it could have been through my eating, my burger to bun ratio might have tipped the balance leading to this predicament. It doesn't put me off though, as there are still plenty of options on the menu I'd love to try. Having sea life on the monitor in the background was also a really good idea as it provides a calm and serene themed feel to the restaurant. I liked the novelty of the tuna can that the bill comes in - ingenious as I'm guessing it doubles as a paperweight for days when the winds pick up on the sea front. The staff were also on the ball, even giving us complimentary shots which were very welcome. Overall, we left with very happy bellies!

Largs town was busy (late afternoon on a Friday) with a funfair and the Viking village encamped further along the seafront, we had looked in various pubs etc. and they all looked packed, especially the spoons at the arcade. When we reached Buena Onda we weren't sure if it was open or just closing as there weren't many tables occupied. Every table had a reserved sign, but when we asked we were shown to a table right away and the reserved notice removed. The waiter took our drinks order right away and gave us time to look at the menu- there is a page just devoted to tapas. Food arrived after a short wait, well presented and hot (we both ordered burgers, fries, and side salad- there were at least 6 varieties, including vegetarian). My hot chocolate was delicious, possibly the best I have ever had, and I had chosen no marshmallows or cream. Ambience was good, the picture on the hi def telly was pin sharp but it was wasting electricity as it was playing music. Great views over the lower Clyde (this was formerly the Green Shutter tea room if you know that) and the place was busy by the time we left around seven. Some people were just in for the cocktails of which there was a good choice, and my wife's favourite, daiquiri made with crushed ice. We only had mains with drinks, £30 including tips which I thought was good value, and we won't mention the lack of towels in the (non smelly) gents.
