Dragon Inn in Coventry

Won’t be using this place again! Used to be our go to Chinese then few months ago had two bad delivery’s on the trot, food was bland no flavour and meat tough and flavourless. Decided to give it one last go and it’s even worse now threw the lot in the bin after few mouth fulls. I don’t know if they have changed owners or chef but I wouldn’t waste your time with this place .

Ordered takeaway for delivery at 6pm so that we would all be home to eat it. Delivery came at 5pm! 2 of us not particularly hungry and 1 was still at work so food wasted and other food had to be reheated for when I came back home at 6pm. Rang to complain and all they said was that if we want the food for 6 order it at 6! Doesn’t make any sense as you can schedule your order for a particular time but clearly they are not paying attention to that! Bad service and attitude!

We used to have fantastic meals! But the last twice the food been cold and ribs tough not edible. I don't think we go back there again

Lovely food people friendly and if you go in to order great fish tank to look at to bide your time while you wait for your food,which is never to long...

Love our food from here, we get a delivery at least once a week and the quality is great! The delivery drivers are always really friendly and orders are always on time and if they're not going to be then they will give you a call well in advance to explain the situation. Really good customer service all round. Thank you 👍

Food always delicious. Have never been disappointed

Pre ordered our meal on Saturday 17th June. It arrived around 5pm which was earlier than I thought it would be. Both meals tasted awful, had to leave most of it. This is not the first time my order has not been good but the food seems to be getting worse. It used to be a really good Chinese take away, don't know why it's standard's have dropped. Had to give 1 star for food but it didn't warrant 1 star as it was awful.

Just had food delivered and spare ribs were off rice was cheap rice chicken balls had no chicken in and over cooked it was disgusting £17 in the bin warning don’t order from here it has gone downhill used to be a good place never order from here again

My usual take away when I visit my brother in Coventry. Very good food cooked quickly. Cash only establishment.

By far the best Chinese takeaway in Coventry. We have been going here for many years now and the food is always on point and delicious. Even when they forget something on your order they will ring you up and ask if you would like to come back and collect it We don’t live local but we still will use this Chinese ITS AMAZING.

Bad review I'm afraid.. Our food was going on 2 hours late. We called to ask what was going on. They accused us of not answering the phone and the door. Turned out they had took down details incorrectly. What really bothered me was that they made it quite clear it was somehow our fault?!? So bizzare! Really rude and no apology for this came from them. Really bad customer service and wished I had read the reviews before ordering...this place used to be really good 😔

Tried to get a nice takeaway for mothers day... Absolutely terrible. Not only did they write down our address and phone number wrong, but they were incredibly rude on the phone. When I rang them back for being late, they started blaming me for not answering the fictional phone number and doorbell that they rang and buzzed repeatedly. We ended up just cooking dinner at home. I don't normally leave any kind of review (good or bad) but this really sucked. No apology and they said they'd send out my already cold food for me to microwave when the driver came back.

Have ordered from this Chinese for many many years, they have always made the tastiest food ever!

This used to be a great take-away. We have been living in the local area for over 40 years. Ordered meal at 5.40.pm come 6.55.pm no sign. phoned them up to ask when its coming, was told they were very busy?? whey were not when we ordered. they opened at 5,00?? I think they lost the order. when the order eventually came, the chips were just about warm, the curry sauce was gelled and set!! pancake roll just about warm!! not a nice meal.

Used to be such a great takeaway. The food was great. I specifically told the staff that I had a sesame allergy and they completely ignored it. What's worse, is that I found a hair in my food! The delivery also took 2 hours. wow.

Been getting food from here since I was a kid with my parents. Always been fantastic food. My husband and I do not live close enough to get delivery so we always collect. No other Chinese for us! We order a Chinese with them every 6-8 weeks. Recently we have heard there was a change of ownership which we would not have guessed. The food and portions are all the same and same standard as they have always been. Only difference we have noticed is the shape of the chicken balls which we actually prefer and the spicy chicken wings are now battered, also a plus in our eyes. Great Chinese. Nothing else compares :)

Normally a fantastic Chinese. Delivery tonight was slow and after an hr wait the food was delivered cold. Called to speak to them and was told it's Saturday it's busy .... sorry! Might have to re-think using again or have the microwave ready. Such a shame as the food is tasty.

The new owners are disconnected from the locals. The portion sizes are now so much smaller and the prices are the same. The quality of food is very good but the size of your portion reduction is a little too much and as a result will make me order elsewhere.

My wife ordered a beef chow mein, when it arrived it smelled burnt and tasted chewy, she phoned the dragon and complained & they sent another one which was burnt as well. We will be going elsewhere in future.

I Don't know what's happened here, it used to be one of the best in Coventry but it seems the owners have changed or something, I've been a few times recently but both occasions the food has been awful, found meat in my vegetable dish too, worrying cross contamination will not be returning

Been using this takeaway for the last 15 years, but seriously gone down hill since the change of ownership!! Tonight was the last straw, even after years of loyalty.. the food was bland and tasteless, here's the icing on cake, a long black hair in our spare ribs!! Just put everyone off the food, so it all went in the bin. Will never use this place again. Hugely mortified!!!

They are always late with orders but tonight I ordered and was told 75 minutes wait. I actually waited over 2 hours!!!!!!!!!!!! Do not order from here

Delicious and do for the price, very good food, easy to order from the phone, they said it would be 1hr 50mins for delivery and the food was delivered about 30mins earlier than expected..we will be back!!

I’m from Coventry but was just visiting down from London last wk,from radford but never used this place but glad did,the food was delicious,special curry with the sauce just how like it,all of it was lovely,and the service was great and very fast delivery,will definitely be using again when back home in Coventry 👍

My son was sick after eating from here

Ordered a meal and specified I had a severe allergy to sesame, when collecting the food double checked and was told they had sprinkled some oil over the dishes at the end for some reason! This is very dangerous and could have ended so much worse! Dragon Inn staff need to learn what an allergy is and realise that it does not matter if you sprinkle some on or use loads its still gonna make you severely ill maybe even life threateningly ill. They were also very rude when they were pulled up on their mistake refusing to remake the food. Its a good job we double checked or I could've been the next one in the papers for an allergy death!

We have been using the Dragon Inn for a few years now. I have never had a bad meal from here, always a friendly service. The food is always good quality!!

Brilliant food and service. Staff are friendly and helpful. Their curries are great and not salty like other chinese takeaways. The singapore fried rice is excellent, hot and spicy just as I like it. The crispy king prawns are good, probably some of the best I've had but there just wasn't enough of them, it was quite small for the price, it was more like a starter so I recommend having something to go with it. The chips are some of the nicest I've had from a chinese but can be hit and miss if it's busy. I can't fault the quality of their food. The only chinese I go to now.

The food is quick and tasty. This is only a takeaway, not a sit in restaurant. If you let them know how hot you like your food made they will accommodate you. Children like to look at their fish tank. They have many pritty fishes.

Love this little gem, Nigel and Dee are wonderful front of house and always welcoming. The food is great and good value too.

Went to stay with some friends at the weekend in Coventry. Great Chinese food, lovely staff, place seemed really busy with customers in and out and drivers delivering food for telephone orders. Did not have to wait too long. It speaks for itself.

Warning: the black bean sauce dish did not actually contain any black bean sauce. In addition, food smelled of wet dog. Never ordering again.

I don't know where to start ! The person who's taking the order was very rude and the food tasted horrible,I made a big mistake to go there again.

Absolutely wonderful. Food was as it should and hot which i find lots of takeaways are not. Also to see the chefs working in front of you is definitely a huge bonus. Order was taken quickly and efficiently and we had a wonderful night in watching a film with the order. recommended.

We have used this takeaway for many years and have had no problems. A few weeks ago we had a takeaway with prawn crackers which were not nice at all. We decided next time we went in we would mention it to them. Friday night we went in and placed our order minus prawn crackers and explained to the gentleman the reason for this. We were told that we were wrong, there would have been nothing wrong with the crackers and that they order only the best and if these were not good enough for us they couldn't help us!! I felt so embarrassed and angry and can honestly say I will never use this takeaway again. Customer service was appalling!

lost my order, once reordered they gave it to another customer! they then wondered why I wanted my money back to go somewhere else.
