Dragon Inn in Peterborough

We normally get great customer service from the lady that normally works here but as of lately we have had the displeasure of having to deal with a young man who has a nasty attitude with shocking rude behaviour and a demeanor as if he hates being there. The lady we normally deal with is incredibly pleasant but the (son? I'm assuming) is incredibly rude and untrustworthy. He even lied when questioned if the price had gone up, just to discover on our own that it had not. He then gives you one price and then when challenged, gets nasty and smart at the mouth then HANGS UP THE PHONE and when you call back he doesn't apologise, then "claims" he miscalculated but then insists on receiving cash over card quite aggressively. What he wasn't banking on is my husband pulling out his calculator in front of him and going over the menu in the restaurant to discover he was trying to tack on an extra 3 quid! To lose regular customers over 3 quid is wild! Because of our recent encounters with him, we will have to bid farewell to this Chinese takeaway and spend our hard earned money elsewhere. We no longer trust this location because of our experience with him.

Despite the driver getting lost in a new area and calling us outside 33 when we said 133 and having to spend time directing him, the food was absolutely delicious. First time ordering, I always check reviews before I do and glad we ordered from here. Will definitely order again. The food was well worth the wait x

We ordered Sweet & Sour pork (cantonese style) and Ho Fun with beef, they are properly done. Not everyone will order such cantonese dishes, but those two are done up to standard.

Best Chinese Takeaway hands down!!!!

Ordered from Dragon Inn for the first time on 10/02/2024 and it is by far the best Chinese takeaway food I’ve had in years! Having been disappointed with more local takeaways due to all dishes tasting the same, excessive saltiness and small portions, Dragon Inn has now become our favourite. All dishes tasted amazing (and different to each other) and portion sizes were generous. Delivery time wasn’t the quickest but they’re obviously popular/busy and the wait was well worth it. 100% recommended!

Easily the best Chinese food in Peterborough as my local regular takeaway was closed I looked slightly further away that would deliver. Everything was hot and very fresh the starters were hot and tasty.In the main course the vegetable's were flavourful and the prawns were delicious. Compared to what we have grown used to this was on another level of flavour and taste. Really impressed with the staff when I called to place my order as they explained each dish to me as they knew I was a first time customer. Will be my regular go to Chinese from now on

Best Chinese takeaway around. Very friendly service

Highly disappointing. It had good reviews so expected good things. Quater duck not crispy. Hoisin too thick and didn't taste like hoisin. Egg fried rice chewy and tasteless. Salt and pepper chips were vile, soggy, tasteless. Only thing that was half decent was the chicken balls. don't recommend.

this venue is not the old eldern pub, it is a new chinese takeaway that opened over 12 years ago. very tasty.

Amazing food! After trying a few places, nowhere was as good as here. Thai special fried rice and 3 treasure Cantonese style is an amazing combo btw. Great portions, friendly staff.

Probably the cleanest takeaway service in Peterborough with a good H&S, c.o.s.h.h, record with Peterborough city council... The staff are brilliant and polite including the chef... The food is "delivered well" to your home nice and hot... I have been dealing here for a few years with Dragon Inn and never hardly a fault... The prices are absolutely on point... One little fault though, I do pay cash and they dont send the right change with the delivery guys even when you express this explicitly.... The chef will bend over backwards to accommodate any preferences you desire, you always get a Christmas card from the staff and a little present too... I can assure you If they were bad id tell you so!!!

Ordered for the first time and really enjoyed it. Sweet and sour crispy king prawn balls were the best I've had from a Chinese takeaway. Doesn't feel.heavy like a lot of Chinese takeaways. Would recommend!

Placed an order yesterday after reading the reviews and was not disappointed. The portion sizes was good meal tasty and despite being extremely busy the food came well within the expected timeframe. Will definitely order again.

Shocking service said it would be 45/1hour and I called up after 1hour and they was still cooking the food. Wouldn’t recommend as it didn’t come until 1hour & 35mins

We love the Dragon Inn. It's the only Chinese we use. Customer service is amazing and honest. The food is tasty. I think you can tell a good Chinese by the sweet n sour sauce, and this is right up my alley!

Year ago I'd give 5 star rate, now a 4 because of the quality of food, don't know why but something's missing. The service is very good, lovely lady on the phone.

First time going here, had read the reviews and they were right. Very Tasty. Had the special curry, Trip mixed sweet & sour balls, sweet & sour 3 treasure Cantonese style, Yung chow rice, King prawns fried rice & Coconut rice. The portion size is more than a good size also the price is very good. Will be going back again. The young lass who served me was very polite and made sure that the order was right. When we got home it was still pipping hot.

A hidden gem - always friendly and food is very tasty. Downside is they can get very busy and it can be hard to get through but it is worth the wait. I recommend avoiding the wait time for delivery and collecting as it is usually ready in 20 or 30 minutes. Would highly recommend. Ignore the wally who reviewed it and has never actually eaten there!

I first ordered from there because it was local but I soon realised that they deliver excellent customer service and amazing food. I can't stress enough how much I recommend the Dragon Inn. By the way, yes, it's Jake who collects!!
