Sensational vegan food! We came for lunch for the second time today, and I had the chicken gyros which was incredible. As always, the portion sizes were massive. I love that the team make their own sodas - such a nice touch and adds a bit of variety compared to other places around. Fast and friendly service, and such a good range of food - not just fried chicken. Will come back time and time again ❤️

Used to come here all the time, lovely wings and tots usually. I’ve noticed in the last few months that the quality and flavour of the food has gone down considerably both in-person and for takeaway and I’m not sure why - the service too is very consistently minimal, the server was watching videos on his phone last time and didn’t check in during the meal, had to go to the counter to get the bill :p

Eating in store this place is sensational. The takeaway/delivery option on the other hands is so poor, it’s like they give you the leftovers or anything that they have burnt and cannot serve in store. So, go in and eat, do not order!

Days later I'm still thinking about ChicknParm flatbread, it was so good I wanted to eat it again straight after I finished. Nice layout means you don't feel on top of other customers, lovely staff and also attracts lovely customers!

Hadn't had Doner Summer for a while so thought I'd order the other day when my friend was visiting. Added everything to the order on deliveroo (2x combo meals, 1x just chicken and 2x dips) and it came to £56!! I understand the price of everything has gone up and smaller businesses can't always absorb the costs, but this is just ridiculous! I'm gutted because I absolutely love the food there but just can't justify spending the money unfortunately.

Used to be 5 star cafe/restaurant a couple of years ago. Food is definitely on the decline, it's vastly overpriced now, and they sneak a service charge on you without telling you which i thought was very cheeky considering its not a posh place. I told them to take it straight off. Can't recommend the place now unfortunately!

Great vegan food! Would definitely recommend the burgers and gyros. Service was ok, was good at seating us and placing order but then felt ignored if we wanted anything else. It was quite cold as well - keep your coat on or take a blanket! Hoping the next time we come there's more choice on sides.

Not been for a while sadly but was well worth the wait! Absolutely on form, the combo was great value and get more chick'n again which I loved! The other half loved her kebab and the beer was beautiful too, completely satisfied 🥰

excellent meals, really tasty, friendly staff, sadly always quiet so i hope they do well with takeout which seemed busy, Not too bothered over the fries or the scotch bonnet sauce but thats personal taste. The spicey chik'n was superb

Now the one in Manchester has gone, this is the closest I can get to fried chicken!! Absolutely love this place, the decor is fresh and funky, has a relaxed vibe. We had the mixed teller tray a few it was enough to feed 2. Food is bright and delicious, reasonable priced and attentive service.

Heard about doner summer through vegan social media pages giving the place a shout out. I cannot stress this enough, boy were they right! Best vegan fried chickn I’ve had! Mint atmosphere, lush food and a cracking pint. What else could a geordie ask for.. highly recommend this place to other vegans or those who are wanting to try a plant based diet.

Dont get me wrong, the food is delicious. BUT through ordering plenty of times, quiet frequently they get your orders wrong and put the wrong things into the boxes. When I rang up to mention this they said they couldn'do anything about it, the staff on the phone said they dont work in the kitchen, But you do work there no? If that's how every business answers queries why not have a phone straight to the kitchen then? Disappointed.

Were the option available, I'd move into this place and live under one of the tables like a gremlin, consisting for the rest of my life on their absolutely spectacular vegan food and amazing drinks range. I would eventually become so rotund as to be forced to wear the table like a hermit crab, yet I would still not stop eating the amazing food. You would simply have to deal with the mancrabgremlin devouring vegan chicken while you dined. And you would, because this place is amazing

We have only ever ordered take away from here but god attending in person made me realise the food is even better in person. One of my favourite go to places. Food delicious as ever and portions in person definitely better than take away. The service was fantastic. My only issue was the endless amount of justeat,deliveroo and Uber delivery people that would just sit at the door on bikes holding up an order number. Meaning the door was constantly open and leaving a draft. Ps we always order Xmas dinner options here for Xmas day and they are divine.

First time coming here and throughly enjoyed the whole experience. Lovely food, great atmosphere and wonderful staff. Definitely would recommend to anyone, we will be back again!

Wow! Subtly tucked away near Leeds Roundhouse, but worth finding.... And booking. It's popular. Food was tasty, different (Fried Chick'n) and just amazing. If I'm anywhere near again I'm back in!

Delicious food and cosy little place

went to dine in last week and had the most gorgeous vegan beef burger and loaded fries. this place exceeded my expectations with their delicious meat and dairy vegan alternatives. customer service was delightful and food arrived quickly. will definitely be coming back for more!

Ordered from them several times and always get the wrong items sent to me. Overall the food is nice but the constant issues of wrong orders being sent is making me not want to keep ordering

A very interesting place! It is not a big restaurant but the decor and the design makes the place unique! Fab staff, they are very welcoming and friendly. The meal set is really fulfilling and pricy. They make their own soda and it is definitely a "must-try"! Their vegan foods taste really amazing and I love their sauce! Their foods come with a good portion as well which makes you satisfied easily!

I usually love this restaurant so much. It's like a vegan fast food shop where you can have fried chicken, chips and burgers with a great price! I went there several times, ordered for a delivery and bought from some events too. However, I'm sure it was a mistake or something, but I experienced crazily salty food two times, one time by delivery, one time at the restaurant. I felt sick for a day drinking water and eating something healthy like salad to calm my mouth, but I think I'll still need some time to get recovered... I hope I'll get usual tasty food next time.

This used to be one of our favourite places in Leeds to eat. Went there last night and everything we both had just tasted of salt, hugely overseasoned. We found this last time we ordered for delivery too, but hoped it was just a one-off. Big disappointment as this place used to be fantastic 😕

I came here with my (meat-eater) picky boyfriend. We were both very happy with our kebabs, and the drink I ordered was great as well. Overall amazing quality of the food!! 💗 Very nice staff, and good vibes all in all, so I will be back for sure!!! The only thing I would change was the knives - they were kind of blunt, but that's really a minor detail :) I would recommend this place to both vegans and non-vegans!

Stumbled upon this place at the weekend, didn’t realise it was vegan until I started eating. Great food, reasonable price, friendly staff. It was absolutely dead so lacked atmosphere, upstairs where the toilets were was like a dumping ground and the toilets could do with a lick of paint. Otherwise great food for a quick bite in town

First time visiting but it won't be the last! Very tasty food and a good selection. It came quickly and the staff were very efficient. The only thing was that it was very cold in there but otherwise would recommend.

I unexpectedly really enjoyed my vegan garlic kebab. The texture of the fake chicken tasted unbelievable. The cheese sauce was delicious. Lovely friendly welcoming staff. They told us which were their most popular dishes, this included the bad girl kebab which two of my friends had. I would definitely recommend if you are vegan or just trying to eat less meat. I don't eat much meat myself and usually go for veggie options on menus so this place was right up my street.

My friend enjoyed the no chicken burger but I found the meat in my kebab spongy, it's hard to describe the texture but it was so strange. Very little salad or sauce on it and the pitta bread tasted bland. I guess I expected more for the price.

I had a great experience here. The staff was friendly and inviting and the food was amazing. The garlic parmesan tots are a must!

I had my lunch in Doner Summer, I was actually looking forward for my visit as I remember enjoying a vegan meal without trying hard to be vegan type of food from beer festivals and visits in York and Leeds. It was lunch time but because I was on my own they let me sit on the uncomfortable tall chairs with lots of other chair in the middle whilst there is enough spaces for more comfy seats which I wasn’t being offered one. The fact that it wasn’t being offered to me was a lowdown and only to offer me the lunch menu in the end as well. Those comfy spaces wasn’t filled in throughout my stay for lunch.

Took my vegan daughter here for her birthday, I'm very impressed. Food was gorgeous and the portions were huge. In an age where everywhere else is making portion size smaller, Doner summer did not conform. I am full and I don't say that too often. Everything here is totally vegan but I doubt anyone would know, if you didn't tell them up front. Seen a couple of reviews complaining about the service, we definitely didn't experience any of that. Taking our order, initially, was a little slow. But the lady apologised and no doubt, it was unavoidable. Can certainly see us returning at some point.

The staff were amazing with us and when dealing with customers being terrible and aggressive with them while being professional on highest level possible! Keep up the good work and please treat them the respect they deserve 👏

My first visit and will definitely plan to go again. Booked a table as needed to fit round travel plans (very handy for the us station). Not a very wide menu, but lots of options within the menu for different breads and sauces etc. Relaxed vibe with friendly staff and delicious food.

❤️❤️❤️ AMAZING. the outdoor garden is gorgeous, always surrounded by little birds. We tried the bad girl and the chikn gyros. both amazing in their own ways, chips were good too- needed salt though. I would reccomend this to anyone vegan or not! it is highly rated for a reason guys.

Megan, was incredible who served our table. Manager bloke, was beyond rude all our food came I checked on my drink and his response was “we’ve only got one pair of hands” I thought I was pretty fair in just asking if it was still on its way as it could have been missed since it was over 45min & all of our food had arrived before a water and cocktail however he didn’t appreciate me simply asking about the drinks - beyond rude response, I’ll avoid like the plague now. Customer service is everything. The blokes on the bar were beyond rude from the get go though to be fair stating we hadn’t booked a table, we got our reservation up and he was still rude stating “well you’re gonna have to wait regardless of that” beyond disgusting service. Real shame because Megan who served was an absolute superstar shame she had to share her tips with them as we would have tipped her a lot more, they 100% let the team down.

Tbh I usually hate vegan meats, but this restaurant actually had really good vegan meat. The burgers were really nice but that other chicken strips dish was very salty so didn’t like it at all. Also the amount of molten cheese put in the burgers should be more for the price paid.

OMG! Soooo tasty vegan food! Loved the music playing and the vibe. Nice light and well decorated interiors, friendly relaxed staff. We just picked at random from a very inviting menu and were absolutely satisfied and full! We will visit the other shops too.

Korean BBQ tray was immense - good food and friendly staff

We were so excited to see a fully vegan cafe! Unfortunately the customer service let us down and was more expensive than we expected. We were sat upstairs and waited nearly an hour for food, with no staff checking in on us for drinks or to apologise for the wait. Possibly they were all downstairs. So that left us frustrated as we were really hungry and the seating isn't the most comfortable. The food however was lovely! And the menu had plenty of options which is great. The only slight downside was, I thought it was expensive for what you get but that's just me. We'd return again if we didn't have to wait so long.

Vegetarian food that is reformed soya or whey, that pretends to be the original meat product. Not sure why they can't do vegetables as the vegetarian meals? In reality a drinking hole that does food. Been there, won't be going back...

came here with my meat-eating boyfriend and he finished his plate! the tastiest vegan food i’ve had maybe ever, genuinely. the sour cherry soda was so tasty and the buffalo + blue cheese burger which was so delicious. lovely staff and atmosphere too, can’t wait to go back :)

Absolutely AMAZING vegan restaurant. We ordered the fried chicken combo plate and the doner teller, and they are both awesome. As someone who’s not vegan, I was surprised at how close the flavor is to actual fried chicken and a doner ! The cocktail was very nice as well and on top of all that, the staff were all very friendly! Must visit restaurant in Leeds !!!

I absolutely love Döner Summer, the food is gorgeous as are the drinks, and it's reasonably priced, the staff are lovely too. I just wish I lived close enough to get delivery takeaways from there!

First time there, good menu and service.

I’ve visited the Sheffield, Leeds, York and Hull venue on several occasions and DS is without a doubt my favourite restaurant and venue, the best, most convincing and filling vegan chicken. The platters are by far my favourites but the burgers and kebabs are also great! The venues are really nice too, especially the Leeds one ! (My local) staff in the Leeds and Sheffield branch are especially lovely! Just need some deserts on the menu now guys!

I highly recommend the ‘Whats garlic in french burger’, the fried chicken (minus the Korean BBQ sauce, It’s so salty!) and their cherry soda. Their garlic parmesan fries are also great. It’s a good job I don’t live in Leeds or I would be in here every week stuffing my face! Please come to Harrogate!

Ordered click and collect on a busy Friday night. Staff were incredibly welcoming and warming as soon as I arrived. I must have made a mistake on my oder as they weren’t expecting me as early as I arrived but still managed to get the food out to me very quickly. Food tasted delicious and great value. Overall great service and great food. Def made me want to come back to dine in!

I can honestly barely put into words how delicious the spicy buttermylk fried chicken with honey bxtter was!!! I was in absolute vegan chicken HEAVEN and would quite possibly travel several hours to Leeds simply to eat that dish again!

Having not eaten meat for the last couple of years, the South Western platter here (vegan chick'n pieces, fries, gravy, slaw and onion rings) absolutely hit the nail on the head in terms of meeting a craving I've had for KFC. Everything about it was gorgeous - the onion rings were the best I've ever had. The restaurant itself has a lovely, chilled vibe/decor, and the staff were super welcoming from the moment we stepped in the door. Cocktails were fab too and the whole thing reasonably priced. What's not to like - will definitely be back!

Yes love this place, it's a Vegan Caffe, sells great food and drinks, very good food, so a good place to go with your Vegan friends or family.

Food fantastic, lovely folk working there, bit cold with the door opening and closing and don't go if you're in a rush! We weren't in a rush so enjoyed our great food and drink. Unfortunately the experience has been tainted somewhat on looking at our bill back at the hotel... Paid the bill, then put a 10% tip - very obviously - on the table... turns out the bill I'd already paid had a 10% tip added to it. So paid a 20% tip. Really wrong that nobody pointed out to us that we'd already paid a tip when we put the money in the jar on the table. Left a bad taste after what was otherwise a good night.

Great food. Not a bad word to say on that front. However... The staff at 3pm on Sunday 11th December were absolutely shocking. They were rude as soon as we got in the door, and persisted with their argumentative attitude. They are such a let down to the otherwise positive image of this place. Incredibly disappointing. I can't, in good faith, support a place who hires such people.Therefore, I recommend anyone reading to try elsewhere first. Other than these two (very rude) guys, I agree with the other positive reviews.

Usually I love Doner summer but today I went in for a small meal. I asked for chips with extra spring onion. I received plain chips. When I went back I was told they don’t stock spring onion. I’m just a bit confused as I usually have a chicken parm teller which comes with spring onion and I bought one of these literally a few days ago so you definitely do stock onions. I feel like they shouldn’t have taken the order and then given me plain chips they should’ve told me they didn’t have what I asked for. Annoying as usually I have 5 star service but today has made me feel uncomfortable ordering from there as I’m not guaranteed to get what I’ve asked/paid for

The food is brilliant. Great music. People are lovely, but the service is a bit slow Only ever had takeout so thought it would be good to try the in restaurant experience We turned up without a reservation and the place was busy, but they made the effort to seat us - thank you! There is a bigger selection of food dining in so wanted to try the burgers and gyros The food as always was excellent. Everything about the food is delicious. It’s tasty, well seasoned, great textures. Yummy for your tummy. Only minor complaint is the food took a long time to come out. They were busy and maybe I’m being unfair, but that was the only small negative. The staff were friendly and fast though. It’s good value too - 2 mains, 1 side, 2 drinks = less than £35 You can’t eat better vegan food in Leeds.

Wouldn't have wanted to start the day off anywhere else! The food was unreal... The best vegan food I've ever had 🔥 compliments to the chef! And of course, we can't forget about Amber. A wonderful person with fantastic energy which really made the experience next level.
