What a great find ,from the moment we walked through the door we were welcomed by Natasha who couldn't enough for us, The rooms were lovely ,in the morning the breakfast was lovely continental breakfast ,one of the staff was asking us about our plans for the day ,and went and checked the websites to see what time opening was Everything you'd expect from a family run hotel and more

Very affordable hotel.Clean, comfortable room. Continental breakfast. Saturday evening we stayed. Big party was in the pub. They supply earplugs if you need or just enjoy the party yourself.

This is a wonderful locally owned hotel and I would absolutely recommend staying here. It is not luxury but you couldn't ask for nicer people and a more comfortable stay. It is right in the center, close to the intercity bus station, and nearby to food and drink. Also, hikes are an easy walk from the front door.

I would love to give this hotel better reviews but as it failed to provide the one thing you want from a hotel, a place to sleep in, I can't give more stars. The only thing that is stopping me from giving one star is the service. Everyone in this hotel was super friendly and very welcoming but unfortunately the noise insulation is so poor in this hotel that we could only sleep when there was no traffic outside the window and when the bar was closed. And since the hotel is very centrally located and on a busy street there is constantly noise outside and hence we barely slept. The hotel in itself was very charming, even if somewhat outdated, but that didn't bother us. But as also the restaurant was closed down the hotel felt a bit tired and sad. The continental breakfast wasn't even really that, I've never seen a continental breakfast that basic, so we ended up eating our breakfast elsewhere. I'd love to see this hotel thrive but unfortunately I cannot see that happening until something has been done to the poor sound insulation that will definitely make more and more guests stay somewhere else.

A beautiful stay in the Donard Hotel. All staff so friendly and welcoming. They even provided dog bowls for my wee dog and a comfy dog bed. Breakfast continental was nice, would have liked ham and cheese with it, however a wonderful stay and would definitely return 😋 👌

During my recent visit, I encountered staff who were both aggressive and inattentive. When my order was incorrect—two meatless patty subs missing their patties—I asked about the issue. Instead of addressing it calmly, the staff slammed the receipt on the desk and exclaimed, "Where are the patties on that receipt?" Ironically, the receipt clearly stated the patties were part of the order. Their behavior was unprofessional and hostile, as they were shouting at another customer before turning their aggression toward me. It's evident they lack the attitude and skills required for customer service roles. Despite multiple complaints, these individuals remain employed, which reflects poorly on the management's commitment to quality service. The staff's attitude made it painfully clear they don't want to be there, and this negativity is obvious to customers.

**WRITTEN BY DAUGHTER** Me and my friends went to see Mufasa: The Lion King. We sat together also we were a wee bit late so no Pearl and Dean jumpscare! The movie was ok. The screen tho…MY GOD! Popcorn & candy on the floor, strange smell wafting throughout the screen, screen wasn’t lined up so there were two thick black lines on the sides of the projection screen so could barely focus on the movie, someone kicked then put their FEET on my seat, phones were ringing EVERYWHERE in the screen, a small child was laughing SO LOUD so I told the child to stop then the child screamed for their parent so I went back to my seat to avoid this parent being annoyed and anyway the parent was cross, everyone except for my group were being awfully loud so I couldn’t hear the movie. The staff were ok I guess. The rules should be on the door for EACH SCREEN. Even the recline. Overall meh experience.
