Really good food! Lovely family and co which own it. Authentic experience, great atmosphere in the place, deliveries work well too.

Came for dinner with our daughter and her boyfriend and we were not disappointed…. Steak was worthy of some of the top London steak houses, 2 of us only ever eat pasta and both said it was the best pasta they have ever had … staff were friendly, attentive and just superb and prices were very reasonable … what more could you ask for …. We are making another reservation before we even leave 👍🏻

WARNING They will server you bread and then charge 4.95 euros without asking,, they do not disclose on menu when ask. They have the reputation of doing this practice with tourists

I’ve been to Don Beni a few times and really like it. However a couple times I’ve ordered the seafood pasta and risotto and the first time it was really gritty (as if the mussels and clams weren’t washed properly), and the second time it was gritty again, broken shells in the food with almost every bite, and the squid was extremely chewy, so was unable to finish my meal. It’s a lovely restaurant with lovely food but advise not to go for the seafood pasta meals

Went for dinner recently at Don Beni - was packed on a Thursday night and the food was delicious and fresh. We highly enjoyed it. I'm surprised to read that others feel the decor is 'outdated and tacky'. I find it traditional, warm and gives the place a really romantic ambience. Perfect for date nights, or family meals out. I would personally highly recommend.

Very nice Italian, the food was amazing. I had the salmon risotto, and it did not disappoint. The music was a bit too loud but was turned down on request, that was nice. And it was very cold. Will come again.

First visit for 4 of us. Took my pizza loving 11yr old in for a birthday dinner. Food, service & atmosphere were all amazing. Staff not only allowed us to bring our own birthday cake but also whipped it away to the kitchen to plate it up & decorate it with chocolate sauce before singing happy birthday at the table! A lovely evening, thank you so much!

Afraid we had a poor lunch experience. Food left a lot to be desired. Mussels were cooked precisely to the consistency of a racing cars tyres. Tasted like them too, I imagine. Sorry won’t be returning.

We visited as a two on Saturday lunch time. We were greeted almost immediately and properly seated with a smile. Drinks menu and food menus were given to us and our drinks order taken in a timely manner. A bottle of water is 4.95, a cappuccino is 4.50. We felt that was quite expensive. (That’s More than Disney Land Paris, for example). We ordered two pasta dishes, each were about £18, again we felt that was expensive for pasta. The Lasagne was Uber hot when it arrived, in a reasonable time, and it was delicious. There were no sides of garlic bread or salad, it was just a portion of lasagne. We waited a while after finishing (25 mins ) but we weren’t offered a dessert menu or any further drinks, so we paid our bill and left. The interior of the restaurant is somewhat neglected, lots of black mould is visible, most of the front windows were completely steamed up so there was no opportunity to watch the world go by whilst eating and taking. The decor is quite dated, and we were feeling cold throughout our meal. Whilst the food was lovely, on balance we would not return, sadly.

Steak was excellent, mussels were pretty poor unfortunately. Everything else was ok. Definitely need to invest in air conditioning, it was unbearable stuffy and damp, the windows were streaming

The food is fabulous but the portions are huge (which explains why the bill was so high). Personally I'd prefer more realistic portions and a smaller bill. That said it is beautiful food. Shame it wasn't more festive since we were there for Christmas eve....

Great ambience, service and tasty food.

My son and I dropped in for a quick-turnaround meal at 530pm before a school performance. The spag Bol was amazing - enormous, hot and delicious. I had the caprese salad which was fresh and flavoursome. The atmosphere here is great, if a little stuffy and humid.

We had a elderly relative who found the high step to enter this restaurant hard to navigate, before we even got into the place. It's dark and cold inside, we were seated in the back corner by the drafty door, where the floor was wet. The menu is huge with all the usual Italian dishes you'd expect to see. Service was brisk, how we like it, and courteous. The food took a while to arrive, but there were several on our table so that's understandable. My pasta was okay, but lacked any real flavour. Prices for most dishes are under £20, but they add a 10% Service Charge for no reason which is unnecessary as customers will tip if the service is good enough.

We have visited this restaurant a number of times previously. The food and service is always excellent. Unfortunately the prices have become way too high and so it is now only suitable for special occasions sadly.

Nice Italian restaurant, have been here many times over the years unfortunately I don’t believe the seafood is as good as it used to be. Rack of lamb was lovely when I had it.

Absolutely love this place! The best pizza I've ever had in UK (second best after trying pizza in Italy)! Staff very nice including chefs who welcome you with a big smile. Nice quiet music in the background. Great atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Highly recommended!

Brilliant food, brilliant staff - can be very warm (and sometimes loud) inside, but absolutely worth it.

The menu offers an excellent choice of meals, service is prompt and helpful and I rather like the retro decor. The food itself is ok but just seems to be missing that extra element of taste and freshness. Portion size is very reasonable but the mains dont come with any sides and what is on offer is quite poor, the chips especially are plentiful but very bland and tasteless. For dessert the tiramisu just tasted creamy and was disappointing. Overall it was an ok meal just a bit blah.

Just had a meal, was disappointed with the service. The waiters weren't attentive and were busy milling around by the bar, talking to each other, looking at their mobiles or laying tables (plenty of other empty tables around, so not a priority to set up the table) while customers needed attention. I am sure they can turn things around if they pay a bit more attention to the customers....

We visited today for a special occasion. The food was good, the service quite slow but sadly it was really unfriendly. We used to visit DB lots and remember why we stopped going to this particular restaurant. We don't eat out much these days and was looking forward to a nice treat, having our dinner made and no clearing up 🥳. It wasn't a cheap evening - disappointingly unfriendly.

This wonderful restaurant has been a feature in Crowthorne for a long time, and always delivers great food, wine , service and fun. You have to give them a try!

We had been to Don Beni in Eton but this was our first visit to the Crowthorne restaurant. The menus are slightly different, but the food is consistently good. Service is good and not overbearing. The interior is looking a bit tired, and could really do with a makeover, but other branches suffer the same criticism.

It was a bit empty when we visited which brought the atmosphere down, but the quality of food was a step above your Zizzi/Prezzo/Pizza Express level. Sure, you will pay more for one pizza than feeding the family from a takeaway, but sometimes you need to treat yourself. A cool beer on a hot day was under hotel prices, and with the pub next door being under refurbishment, it filled a gap there.

One of the best , fresh pizza and chips I have eaten very Friendly employees and helpful, l highly recommend this place

Located in Crowthorne high street…careful with local parking ..Lidl car park 100 metres away for 2 hours. Decor little dated but solid tasty cooking of traditional dishes with rustic presentation. Welcoming service. Sardines appetiser particularly good, Pork shank star of show..tender and enormous!. Good wine list reasonably priced. Great for a family lunch/dinner

Thought we would visit a local restaurant for dinner. Regrettably both my wife and I were quite disappointed with our food which was very, very bland and generally underwhelming. The restaurant was extremely noisy and only at half capacity. Near impossible to have a coherent conversation. Not one that I could honestly recommend nor Unlikely to frequent again.

2nd visit to this lovely restaurant really nice menu and fantastic flavours. Not a cheap meal but good quality. Only spoiled by lack of heating it was so cold that even the barely warm starters were apparently steaming. I am not normally a cold person but had to wear my very warm coat through the whole meal. Have to say the staff were excellent and the soups were replaced with piping hot ones when we asked.

Great little Italian with a lovely cozy home feeling to it. The food is great all 11 of us loved our dishes. The staff are friendly attentive and helpful. I will without doubt go back & I recommend it without reservation. Well done guys.

Me and the Mrs came here for our anniversary and it was lovely. Don Beni is the only Italian restraunt which serves fulfilling portions. The pollo milano was delicious and I've never had such an amazing tiramisu. The lads really do take pride in their cuisines and customer service. Big up Don Beni.

Went here for a friends birthday. The staff didn’t really acknowledge us on arrival. It was dirty. The food had no taste, far too salty(no table water given) I think there are loads of places in the area who are trying really hard to deliver great food so go there and not here.

Good classic Italian food. Acoustics can make it a bit tough to hear each other in a large group.

Accessibility to the restaurant is poor as there’s a big step up from the pavement with no ramp. The place was empty when we entered, the servers were gathered round the bar talking and looking at their phones. There they stayed during our visit. The menu is large with lots of choice across the usual Italian cuisine ranges. I went for spaghetti carbonara. My soda drink was delivered but it was completely flat. The food arrived fairly quickly, it was a good size portion, hot, but was pretty bland, with little flavour. Food prices are a bit on the high side, drinks are extortionate and a 10% service charge added to the bill is a complete joke for the indifferent service we received. We really didn’t enjoy this dinning experience.

Cosy setting, fine food and a large party very well looked after by great staff.

Was invited out as a thank you by my neighbours. Been a few years since I have come here. Place was full, great menu, friendly and good service. Large portions or freshly cooked food, excellent quiality and taste. Started with Sardines, 3 very large sardines, very tasty. Main was prawns with spagehetti, good portion of prawns, sauce could have been a bit more flavoursome. The tiramisu was huge and excellent. Well done Don Beni keep it up.

Delicious food, it has a good menu with many tempting options. With busy but attentive staff. Bit dated decor but that adds to the ambience.

We ordered starters, mains and a few drinks. The food wasn't very good the risotto was bland and resembled rice pudding. Sauce was burnt on the veal, all in all was a bad meal. In all fareness we refused to pay and they accepted this complaint without any hesitation. Won't be eating there again. Really disappointing.

Came here last night with a few friends and was disappointed with the quality of the the food, which for a restaurant with a good reputation was very average for the price. I had the garlic bread for starters and half of it was burnt and wasn't fresh. I then had the chicken and again very average with little flavour, plus I ordered chips with it, but got no chips, lastly I had the tiramisu which for an Italian dessert should have been excellent but I've had better from Lidl, so will I be recommending this restaurant to others 🤔🤫

Just had our first takeaway from Don Beni Crowthore!! Think one should avoid the deep fried Calamari rings “ so looking forward to them “ but they were very bland and tough wife’s pasta was fine just could have had a bit extra Parmesan separately to sprinkle over pasta ?!we ordered 2 x Tiramisu but looking at the portion in a small container I think we were short changer if that’s a portion at nearly £12

I have been eating from Don Beni for over a decade and they provide absolutely delicious Italian food. On top of this, the kitchen staff and the waiters are top fellas. Big up Francisco Beni.

This is the second time I've been to this restaurant in 25 years 😄. I can't remember the first (199...?!) but it's always been highly recommended. It was a pleasant surprise to be taken there for Mother's Day. A small negative was there was no mother's Day special or set menu. The decor was slightly disappointing with the windows steamed up with condensation and black round the windows so it could do with a paint-over but the atmosphere and cosiness was ideal for early evening (5pm). The food didn't disappoint. Starters of veg soup, tricolore salad and tomato garlic bread all very nice though maybe the soup could have had a bit if pasta thrown in. Mains: spaghetti with fish, pasta with cream sauce and spinach and pizza (no cheese) were all delicious. We all said how hot the food was which was a plus. Good portion size too. Only room for one dessert - tiramisu which didn't disappoint; it was truly delicious. The pricing wasn't bad. I'd definitely go back and try the pizzas.

Starters were nice lots of it and recommend to share but the mains of chicken with rice was stodgy and not nice in addition we were ignored for ages when wanting to pay our bill waiters saw us wave cards to pay but chose to ignore us and clear a table even though restaurant not busy We would not go back

Good food, good service. Took my dad for his birthday. We had a really good time. No children's menu but they do small portions of all the pizza and pasta for the kids.

What a disappointment we chose this restaurant on the spur of the moment knowing that it has been well operating in Crowthorne for many years. To start with the garlic bread was untasted and served with a pat of butter which is , most unusual and not taste of garlic at all. The fungi pizza were flat bread with a very thin topping of tasteless cheese. On top there were what was probably the incinerated remain of mushrooms all broken up into slivers and crumbs . There was no other topping which you usually get in a restaurant pizza or even a cheap one bought from a supermarket. When I complained to the waiter who was uncommunicative throughout he whisked the plates and remains of the indelible toppings away and the other waiter then appeared who stated most emphatically that we had only had garlic bread and that the pizza was still being prepared. T When I protested and showed him a burnt crumb on the table he said that it was from the garlic bread! After saying that I was dissatisfied with the meal he said there would be no charge and although I offered to pay for our drinks this was refused. A most unpleasant meal and we will not be retuning.

Nice little "traditional" Italian, food was good, my Pizza was particularly good,although my Wife didn't enjoy her Risotto. I take a star off because we weren't offered dessert or coffee, I don't know why, but other than that, a very good time!

The team spoke beautifully Italian and welcomed us into the restaurant. Unfortunately no child seats but only because there was a large table with lots of little uns! Beatrix loved having a big chair and other customers were so impressed. Garlic bread, Don Beni pizza and prawn pasta was (as Beatrix put it) DELICIOUS! Beatrix making new friends with the other toddler customers. Coffees to finish. Bellissimo!

Popped in on Friday, didn't have a booking but they did have one last table. The food was great and so was the service. The portion sizes were perfect, only just finished my main. Will definitely be back again.

It was very busy although table was booked had to wait but not too long. Service and food was quality, I had a mussels in wine sauce and a pizza and it was devine never tasted anything like. Quality 👌

Just great food and atmosphere..

Came for birthday celebration the beef and chips all perfect, the pasta was excellent but I have ordered a pizza and came very soggy and sluggish can't lift any slice of the pizza everything falling apart , nobody to come to ask if everything is OK with the food, I have spoken with the staff about the pizza and was waiting for response, and on the end was served the bill without any feedback or just simple sorry. Will recommend the food just avoid the pizza, staff not very helpful with concern over food or feedback from customer.

Loved it here! The mains were amazing, very enjoyable, lots to pick from. Staff were all friendly, helpful, and everything was pretty quickly done! I will definitely be coming back again. I'd love to see more options for dietary requirements in the future on the menu, but I definitely found something I could enjoy as did the rest of the group I was with.
