Dolphin Supper Bar in Halton

Collection of sweet & sour chicken and unfortunately the chicken was under cooked. Very disappointing!!! Won’t be visiting here again !!

Dolphin chippy is a well-known fast food service. They have a wide variety of food that caters to your preference and includes a childrens menu. Their menu is reasonable priced and also has their own special cheaper menu for meals about £7. Which I noticed outside at the bottom of their advertisement. Dolphin also accepts phone orders for collection and deliveries. Most of all, meals & chips are always freshly prepared & hot. Free parking facilities. It's still one of the best chippy's in Runcorn. Location is set in between the Co-op and pub the other side

Came here on the off chance as I travel with work played it safe with egg friend rice, chips and curry sauce. Asked for extra soy sauce on my egg fried rice and they gave me extra alright 🥹🤪 Couldn’t eat all the rice as was spoilt with the soy, but other than that good chips, nice rice and the curry is tasty! Just maybe a dash of soy extra would of been ok

Great choice of Chinese and English food that's nice and tasty. Prices are reasonable as well. Also does a phone order and delivery service. I would recommend this supper bar as great.

Ordered a mixed grill everything was OK till I got to the steak full of fat and cooked as I asked for also the liver was over cooked also ordered chicken and sweet corn soup with prawn crackers where told they where free as I spent £15.00 never got them but other than that I would order again from them but not a mix grill

I orded from here tonight my curry was like piss very watery and the delivery took forever to get here, never ordering from here again you have lost my custom.

If you prefer your chips to be old and stale, this is the place for you. Meals are overpriced muck. Avoid.

Nice and clean. Modern. Somewhere to sit whilst waiting for your order, which is done pretty quickly. I'm a creature of habit so stick with that same order. Which looks and tastes fab everything. Staffbare lovely too

I got a bit confused as I'm blind and thought this place a massage parlour. She asked what I wanted and I said the full works please. A few minutes later, a giant package of food arrived, which I mistook to be a woman. I lay it on the floor and began to pump away. I now have third degree burns to my genitalia and bits of prawn cracker stuck up it. Despite that, I enjoyed the experience and me and the food are getting married in May. I'm also having an affair with two Weetabix. I can't see it like, but I imagine down there must look like that blokes face in The Burning Detective.

Went to try this place. It's been a few months since it was closed, and my normal chippy was extremely busy, I took a chance. The lady who served me was very rude. She looked like she had not cracked a smile in the last 10 years. The food was tasty, however, and I felt good about going there. 5 hours after I had eaten the food, it was a different story, I was being violently sick for hours. Curry, rice and salt and pepper chicken definitely taste better going down than coming up. Luckily, my daughter didn't have anything, and my partner had fish and chips. I'll never eat here again. Terrible mistake.

Ordered fish and chips tonight, really looking forward to them but the batter on the fish was disgusting. So disappointing

AWFUL!!! Waited over 3 hours and food didn’t turn up after them saying it was on its way 3 times and telling them it was my child’s tea!! Disgusting!! Won’t order again!

food not bad but alot of flies in the air local council clossed it down for 2 days because of the flies and been dirty never going again ......re-oppend now its been cleaned ...no thanks

I thought I would give them a try after the bad publicity and give them time to sort things out, and I'm glad I did, I got the salt and pepper munch box with a carton of curry and it was the best I have had in a long while, and half the price I paid at castle rise chippy sovstart trying them again you won't be disappointed

This was the first time we have used this chippy after we moved to Runcorn. I would like to say the food was absolutely amazing, the size of salt & pepper chicken was huge and tasty and My favorite is the chicken fried rice and it was so delicious as well as their kung po sauce. we will definitely visit you again!

Environmental health has shut this place down

Recent articles have brought the filth, negligence and lack of care for customer safety to light. The business was shutdown by an emergency order, from the council recently before opening 48 hours later. They make a killing as it's nearly always busy, yet no basic food hygiene in place? It should be shut down.

The food we got was expensive compared to other local takeaways and the food was not nice. Used to love this chippy but our last meal was awful.

Food wasn't very good on last 2 orders and staff very rude here I've started using Castlefields now much nicer meals good portion and decent staff

This place is allways busy but the food and service is very good. Portions are huge and you really only need one meal between 2

Every time been here they get order wrong. Everthing is greasy. And if you can find a fish in batter good luck happy fishing

Always very busy so tells its own story. Food is always very good and service time is good considering how busy it always is. Prices have gone up a good bit now tho so can't warrant 5 stars.

The chicken chow mein here is very tasty. I always eat more than I should.

Keep putting there prices up and making the meals smaller, rip off

I come to Runcorn to visit friends and they highly recommended the dolphin, I was surprised, the food is amazing and huge portions at a reasonable price. I can’t wait to visit again, absolutely delicious, very well organised for such a busy chippy and friendly staff. Just the little touches like the fortune cookies for the kids.

Great chippy, little on the expensive side

So went to the chippy to grab some grub for me and the missus now I don't mind the dolphin sometimes but giving a one star due to customer service I literally stood at the front to place my £30 Order waited until they say how can I help what would you like to order instead waited for over 5 minutes still no one seen to me then instead of asking to call Me over as I was waiting they call over someone else but had to spend my money next door in the co op all was after was a family meal there loss of £30 feedback would be is when customer is stood there for over 30 seconds or longer approach the customer within the first ten seconds of them arriving or if you are busy advise you be with them in minute at least then you have made them aware that you have noticed them honestly really disappointed in service

I've been to Pembrokeshire AND Haverford West... NOTHING! compares to a dolphin chippy - Emojo

Updated review - can be lovely but for some reason lately you can go and it's a greasy mess. Shame because you used to be able to guarantee quality at Dolphin.

The food from here was fresh an piping hot. Staff were friendly. Would recommend an will definately be going back as the menu choice is amazing

Dunno what has happened to this chippy. The food quality has dropped, the taste of food has changed and isn't worth it anymore. Need to find a nice chippy again

The last few times fish is grey and mushy chips are horrible and peas like bullets . Used to be a great chippy now i go festival way.

Got fish chips & ‘mushy’ peas from the dolphin last night, the chips aren’t fresh I don’t know what they do with them, the fish was terrible & the ‘mushy’ peas were more like marrowfat peas & very hard. After I’d had a few fork fulls & I’d pushed it round the plate a few times I threw it away. Then up all night with you know what & I’ve been like that for most of today. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, it’s really gone downhill & a waste of £15 too.

This chippy was once a first class takeaway, not now , we travelled from widnes to get a so called Chinese meal , what a joke, salt and pepper ribs discussing , food ended in the bin bin

Just had chicken curry. Chicken didn't seem to be real chicken! Sauce not great, it came with a huge bag of chips, enough to feed a whole family. However I think the chips are frozen as they are not like chippy chips. Big disappointment. Usually have chicken fried rice but as I've been disappointed with this lately I thought this may be better. How wrong was I. Won't be wasting money there again.

Supposed to be open til 11. Come down at 22.30 and the place is closed. Never coming here ever again and I'd advise everyone to stay away.

This used to be a really nice chippy but now it's very hit and miss. More miss these days though!. Shame really.

Hit or miss every time you go, either very fresh or warmed up chips, meals ok, staff always in a hurry to get rid of you, English speaking needs to improve.

Just ordered 2 takeaway Chinese meals from Dolphin could not fault food 10 out of 10 delivery was in 40 minutes thin dried noodles was lovely could not fault food or service first class

Had takeaway from there last night. Waited 2 hrs for delivery, food was cold, meat was chewy and chips were pale and under cooked, the prices were expensive compared to other takeaways, definitely not worth the wait or the price. Most of it went in the bin

Absolutely terrible food tonight Salt and pepper ribs that were dripping in grease and more fat than meat, wonton soup that just tasted like salty water and salt and pepper chips that tasted awful and looked like they had already been chewed, avoid 🤮

Orderd special fryed rice tonight. It was cold and the meat is terrible and so dry.

Absolutely disgusted with the service received tonight hoped for a nice meal for my wife's 40th , cold chips , stodgy rice ,wrong sauce for satay sticks and got a horrible very spicy meal ( couldn't even tell you what it was) instead of chicken in cantonese sauce , obviously not dependable for special events ,I will not be going back I advise you to go elsewhere

Ordered chow mein and chips. Was told 30 mins but took 1hr 20 mins. Chips were like rubber but chow mein was ok. Waste of money and I even tipped the driver!

Great Chinese, nice staff, well priced and a large selection of food. Our regular chippy this, or if we want some Chinese food. Not sure if it's changed, but they didn't accept card last time I went, but there's a cash machine literally outside next door at the co op so that isn't really a problem.

Don't get the impression they like the locals very much in here. Straight one line answers to any questions about the menu, combination deals not honored when buying multiple items unless you specify it and they clearly speak about you to each other in another language when you're standing right infront of them. Their food isn't bad, but ruined when you get home and something's missing so you drive back only for them to disagree that it was missing as if you'd drive all the way back for a measly free sausage! It was eventually reluctantly dumped on the counter because I wasn't leaving. But I think we'll go somewhere else where they don't clearly hate the people who pay their living next time.
