We had a well cooked, well prepared meal presented ready for us to take across Bedford. The owners were pleasant, polite and very friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal which saved my wife cooking, and enjoyed the standard wine. Only tricky bit was finding the entrance in the dark - but will be easier next time. Can recommend the dog house for a reasonably priced enjoyable meal.

We collected a 3 course meal for 2 people last Friday and it was superb. We upgraded the wine, and it was still only £60! The service was personal, we felt so safe and comfortable going there and collecting our food. We'll be back. Bravo!

Arrived to collect our meal. Prompt delivery to our car & everything was packaged securely - no leaking sauce & soggy carrier bags here! Drove home & ate the meal with no reheating necessary - apricot & lamb meatballs, fresh, zingy salad & dipping sauce, chicken cacciatore with herby roasted new potatoes followed by a delicious brownie & caramel sauce - all washed down with wine (part of the deal) A really delicious meal, all cooked & served with the usual Dog House care & attention to detail. There are lots of vegan choices on the menus including the brownie & they have all been delicious.

Just had the absolute privilege of trialling the new takeaway menu, a wonderful change from the Indian and Chinese offerings. The vegan choice is currently: garlic stuffed mushroom, aubergine, butter bean and roasted pepper tart with seasonal vegetables, followed by dark chocolate and hazelnut brownie with salted caramel sauce and fresh berries.The mushroom was 10/10 perfectly delicious. The beautifully presented tart with vegetables were lovely; perfect short pastry, with a light and tasty filling.The brownie was rich and together with the hazelnuts and caramel sauce and berries, a delicious desert.

This was our first visit this year as I have been awaiting Liz’s amazing mushroom Strudel to come back on the menu!And it was so worth the wait; rich, mushroomy, crispy deliciousness. Served on a bed of crunchy, fresh, locally grown carrots and creamy leeks and accompanied with new potatoes- fabulous!My starter was a pot of Melanzane: very hot layers of baked aubergine, in a rich tomato sauce with onion, garlic and a very tasty vegan cheese .The palate cleanser was a beautifully refreshing, water mint sorbet.Lastly a steaming pot of scrumptious plum crumble with coconut ice cream.

We live locally and had heard about this pop up restaurant from others, so thought we would give it a try. We had a lovely 3 course meal with our friends. The food was delicious, of very high quality and there was great attention to detail in all aspects of our dining experience. One of us is G/F which was well catered for after sending an email beforehand.If you like more of a bespoke dining experience then we would highly recommend a visit. A chance to get away from the normal high street high volume eateries and back to enjoying a quieter quality meal with friends. Our time there flew by and a great night was had, relaxing and enjoying a really beautiful hand cooked meal. Very highly recommended!

This is a ghood find tucked away between Willington and Bedford. It is only open a few nights a month so you need to get yourself on their email list so you get a monthly email withthe new menu and what dates are avaialble. We had an excellent meal with friendly efficient service and at £30 per head for a three course meal to include coffee and petit fours I thought is was great value. You do have to book in advance and selct your menu choices when you book. They also ask for a non refundable deposit of £10 per head at the time of booking. My only issue was the noise level. It is a converted garage attached to the chef's house and there is nothing to absorb the sounds of happy chattering diners. Owners, just a thought but perhaps if you put some fabric in the dining room like curtains, or a large wall hanging, or a rug it may absorb some of the noise!

I have visited Dog House Kitchen on two occasions now. Both times have been wonderful and I have been able to enjoy a lovely 3 course vegan meal without having to compromise or go without which is unfortunately sometimes the case in other restaurants. On our most recent visit our group had a few different dietary requirements: a vegan and a gluten free, and two meat eaters - yet we all had meals in which we enjoyed every course and all our needs were well catered for which is sometimes tricky when dining out in a group with different dietary needs. We all agreed that the food was the quality of a gourmet restaurant with the benefit of having a nice home cooked touch. The service on both visits was so attentive and friendly, with both hosts being chatty, friendly and making sure we were well looked after. Each time we have left we have talked about planning our next visit on the way home- we will definitely be coming back! Can’t wait for the next one!

I have just been to the Dog House Kitchen for the first time and I cannot rave about it enough. The hospitality is second to none with every detail thought of and a constant top up of wine! Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. I am gluten free and loved that for once my food was the same quality as everyone else’s. The food was beautifully cooked, generous portions, with wonderful flavours put together. The setting is really pretty, and the hosts have managed to create a warm and homely atmosphere. The place is perfect for a special occasion or private function. I will definitely be going back. What a wonderful find!

A rather unique setting with very friendly and accommodating hosts. Enjoyed a private party there so was surrounded by 24 friends which I guess makes it slightly different to normal. Food was nice and we were well looked after. Definitely try again on a normal night.

We have just visited The Dog House Kitchen for the second time and will definitely be returning again!Absolutely delicious starters and a main course of Chicken with bacon poached in cider was beautiful, lots of flavour and presentation as always was lovely. We had been really looking forward to experiencing this establishment, based upon the glowing reviews. Sadly, we were left disappointed and surprised with the service that we received.The setting was pleasant and overall, the food was presented very well albeit the quite minimal portion sizes. The starters and puddings were fine. However, my partner’s main course, a chicken dish, was undercooked and the meal was taken away promptly for recooking. It was returned to us with some extra vegetables but there was little improvement with the cooking of the meat, resulting in my partner having to abandon eating the chicken. We appreciate that mistakes can happen – but it’s how you deal with them that counts…we were surprised that the chef was sent to our table and disputed that the chicken had been undercooked, we were disappointed by this and also most unimpressed that we did not receive any apology, nor offer of a discount...we had even purchased three bottles of liquor as Christmas presents – not one of these was offered to us for as a good gesture either. We felt rather dismayed and annoyed upon leaving the restaurant considering all of this. We like the idea of 'pop up' restaurants and are always looking for new and unique dining experiences and sincerely hope that Dog House Kitchen can improve upon their customer service skills in the future, should any matters be unsatisfactory.

We had the pleasure of attending a Dog House Kitchen evening a couple of weeks ago. From the minute we arrived we were welcomed with open arms. Liz and Chris were incredible hosts and made our evening a very enjoyable one! Our food was amazing from beginning to end and will be returning in the near future. Also the choice of flavoured gins are outstanding. Thankyou Liz and Chris for a great evening!

We visited on Friday night for the third time with friends who had missed out on a previous occasion. They had both recently had a birthday so we thought it would be nice to combine their first trip with birthday celebrations.

We’ve eaten at most of the restaurants around and thought we’d give this place a try. We were very pleasantly surprised! The setup is a bit strange, only opens every now and again, cash only, order in advance from preset menu, everyone eats at the same time, but everything worked out just fine. The food was excellent. Good choice of wines and reasonably priced. The staff were very helpful - couldn’t ask for more. We had to leave before the end of the session so we missed the coffee and chats! Definitely give at try - allow 3 hours for the full experience!

Liz and Chris hosted a super 50th birthday celebration , the food was excellent accommodating all our guests food requirements. All in all a great night to remember , we were particularly partial to the Cherry Bakewell cocktails, and special mention for the Braised Ox Cheek dish ! Thanks so much we will be back .

We are absolutely sure it wasn't just because it was a Valentine's special that we felt the love at Dog House. You can taste it in the food!

We were introduced to the Dog House about twelve months ago by a friend. We were immediately impressed by it, not only by the food but the very pleasant surroundings and tremendous welcome by Chris, Liz and the team. We visited again last autumn when my husband was looking for somewhere to hold his 70th birthday party. We were not disappointed and arranged to take over the restaurant for a private function. Liz and Chris couldn't have been more obliging and came up with a suggested menu which we were able to tweak. We subsequently took a smaller group a week later. Everyone without fail said what a super place it was and would definitely return. The food is tasty, well presented and reasonably priced.

The Dog House Kitchen is now our ‘go to’ restaurant. Fabulous food in charming surroundings, with the most wonderful hosts.

We visited here for my partner and brother in laws birthday. It didn't disappoint! Beautiful home cooked food in a very homely setting. Liz, Chris and Elaine made us feel very welcome from when we first stepped through the doors. We were made to feel even more special as liz had made my partner and brother in law beautiful cup cakes for their birthdays! Also the biscuits we got to take away were delishious! A very unique, wonderful dining experience that we we would recommend.

This is a great place- Liz and Chris along with their staff were the perfect hosts. The food was excellent as was the service. I will certainly be heading back there.

Liz and Chris and team are brilliant hosts, nothing was too much bother for them and they were very efficient and friendly. We were a party of 4 and one of our party had some very specific dietary needs that were easily accommodated and we all had an amazing meal that was cooked to perfection and of a very high quality, especially the poached pear and thyme ice cream! The selection of drinks is well balanced so as to not overwhelm your choice; all well selected to complement the menu and at fantastic value for money.

Enjoyed a private dining experience with a large group of neighbors and friends at the Dog House kitchen pop up restaurant.

We enjoyed yet another super meal here in November, warmly welcomed even after arriving late due to accident stopping traffic, called ahead and they held our food back so as not to spoil. Served by Elaine who was both friendly and efficient, Liz and Chris both make a great effort to make you feel so welcome all are happy to discuss the dishes with you. The cauliflower salad with pomegranate was delicious, and whats to say about the poached pear and thyme ice cream ! One of the most fresh tasting desserts I have had in long time. We will definitely be going again.

My wife booked this as a surprise a few weeks ahead. Amazed I never heard of this pop up restaurant before as we only live a few minutes up the road. My wife kept this as a secret right up to when we arrived. I said "we're arriving at someone's house; do you know them?" lol. You arrive at Georgian house & we were greeted as we went into a annex - nicely decorated with around 20 covers. My wife is a very good cook & seems that so many places in/around Bedford over promise & under deliver. Not here. My wife said it was very similar cooking to what she would cook for me on a good evening or a dinner party. And they cater for vegetarian & vegan. Think everything my wife had was vegan. Three courses & they have a wine list. My wife said years ago this would be what she would have done. The owners clearly have a passion for it. We shall definitely come back again. Our only comment would be:-

We've been meaning to try this place for months as heard good things about it. Finally birthday celebrations brought us here and were not disappointed! We were very well accepted and the service was great! Oh and of course the food was lovely. I would definitely recommend and hope to go back again

We we had the pleasure of dining at The Dog House Kitchen on Friday 19th May for the first time with our friends. Well we were delighted with the wonderful food, the great atmosphere and the friendliness.

We've dined at The Dog House Kitchen many times and just can't keep away! Right from the start, all at this wonderful restaurant is top notch ... easy parking, a warm welcome, cosy ambience, superb food and drink and an excellent and very friendly service throughout. The menus are varied, so tasty and very tuned in and sympathetic to dietary requirements, with every single detail covered. As a vegan, I find the choices are amazing! Additional flourishes in between courses and a bite sized treat to take home in a 'doggie bag' all add to this superb and elegant dining experience. There are also home made goodies to purchase and take home and enjoy .... jams, chutneys liqueurs etc. We shall return often and introduce friends and family :-)

We visited with friends on Friday, the food was exquisite and the presentation was exceptional to the point you didn't want to spoil it tucking in! Between the four of us we had a variety of dishes on offer and each of us, without exception, said it was the best meal we had had. There are nice touches throughout the meal, the waitress was attentive and polite even though she was busy. The owners/chef took the trouble to chat to us at the end of the meal. All in all a lovely culinary experience and one we hope to repeat again soon with you. Thank you again.

The Dog House Kitchen is a pop up restaurant opening just 2 Friday evenings a month. The wonderful hosts Chris and Liz source all the ingredients locally, even growing some themselves! They create a new exciting menu each month, then Liz prepares all the dishes herself in their farmhouse, family kitchen. Liz strives to include vegetarian, vegan and gluten free dishes on her menu and has told me in person that if I message beforehand she will always endeavour to make me vegan options.

Last night was our fourth time to Dog House Kitchen and once again it was amazing.

Expectations were high; the experience was average.

We all had a lovely eve - food was fab, atmosphere lovely, service great ...so glad we finally found time to come to Dog House. Will def recommend and be back - thank you so much for the birthday cup cakes, really lovely extra. X

This is a wonderful dining experience in a home! The restaurant opens twice or three times a month only. When we went there were tables for 14 people which made it very intimate. The hosts are wonderfully welcome and do the cooking! So lovely and warm just like going to friends. The three course meal is ordered prior and ours was amazing. Chicken Parfait for starters, Chicken, Prosciutto& Porcini and Raspberry Frangipane Tart and Cheese Plate. All were absolutely delicious. It was a fantastic experience and a send off with a doggy bag was a really special touch.

This is a pop-up restaurant. Basically, it opens a few times per month with a limited number of covers (about 25), in one sitting, and with a menu that needs to be pre-ordered.
