A quick pitstop at this small coffee, but worth a mention to highlight the rare handpull vintage coffee rarely seen in London anymore. Outdoor covered seating, located on the corner in a sun-trap opposite Putnery Bridge underground station, the fantastic Fulham Palace Park and of course the recently refurbished and extended Fulham Football Stadium at the far end of the park.

I love this coffee shop. Amazing & friendly staff, delicious cappuccino with caramel. Barista remembers my order even though I’m only visit 2-3 times a month (whenever I’m in the area). Small but lovely decor, and it’s fun to watch the vintage Gaggia maschine being used. I’ve got good advice from the staff too about making my own coffee at home. I’m always telling people about this coffee shop.

Dr Espresso is by far the best 'go to' for coffee in London whatever time of day. Hospitality establishments, big and small, depend on the people running them - so top marks to Patti and Arturo - and I mustn't forget William who very often opens up at 5.30am and has everything cooked and ready by time the day shift arrive an hour later.

Question, how can anyone go past this cafe without stopping for a cannoli?! Lovely buzz on a Saturday morning with some locals in. Best cannoli I have had - salted caramel, just divine and the cappuccino was perfect too. Very welcoming staff, great service and prices about average. Also good seating area outside and right by the station.

The coffee is gorgeous and I particularly liked the chocolate croissant and chocolate arogostine. The staff are very friendly and service is great. I will definitely visit again when I am next in the area.

Just went to the one in Fulham High Street - great coffee and tea. Very nice interior lay-out, just like Italy. Server was polite, drinks were tasty and inexpensive. Owner Russell was very sociable and gave us a history of his coffee bars. We'd go back again.

Doctor Espresso been my local ” I run with my coffee ” little artisan coffee shop... I was delighted to see on my way to work today , they reopened!!! Always smiley, knowing people’s drink ( which in my book is an att itself!), pleased to see that owners kept their staff through the last few months of hard times....!! I like to get a takeaway from the ready cooked food counter. The menu varies. Last week I had a container filled with a pick and mix meal of chicken drumsticks, pasta and broccoli. As usual the service was fast and friendly.

In my experience, it’s the service that makes this cafe such a pleasant place to be in anytime of the day especially when you have the lovely Pattie&Arturo behind the counter serving the best coffee and the most delicious lunches! Having just walked from Richmond along the Thames Path my wife and I were well ready for some refreshment - and were delighted to discover exactly what we needed here. Hot salami and brie panini's freshly made, cracking espresso, and delicious slices of homemade cakes. You have to try the pistachio brownie...always a joy to find little coffee shops like this, and a unique collection of old coffee machines to examine too. Top marks.

I was here with my grandchild for a fika before taking the underground. The coffee (cortado) was as good as back a few years ago. And we enjoyed a couple of tasty chocolate brownies.

I went there for a business meeting last week - we needed a quiet place to discuss ideas - and this was perfect. Coffee was great, service friendly, they left us in peace to discuss and we even got some complementary biscotti after sitting for a while. Thoroughly recommend.

I stop in a few times a week to order my daily brew. It always has a buzz and energy to it and is the perfect way to start the day. Oh and the coffee is authentic and as it should be. Love this little gem!

In town for a couple of weeks, from Asia & on business, it was a colleague that first introduced this café to me.Near the office, it quickly became a convenient go to spot for morning coffees before going into the office and afternoon espressos with lunch. The fun sized café is run by colourful, friendly staff (including the lively and lovely Patty) who are full of warm cheer in the morning and willing to kibitz and share in some lively banter in the afternoon. The coffees are the real gems here. Authentic, lever pulled espressos that add an analogue touch to a digital world, they were routinely terrific without fail. Add in toasty warm paninis, pastas and assorted baked items, it is a daily stop that I will surely miss once back in Asia. Highly recommended.

This is a larger branch of the one by Putney Tube St. More of an 'eat-in' cafe. Delicious Scilian pastries and varioius Italian paninis along with their excellent coffee, Love the antique expresso machines & very charming staff, just wish it was situated off the High Street but this is probably good for business.

I visited on Saturday morning when it was very quiet, the coffee (espresso) was great, but not much food on offer beyond pastries so gave up hoping for breakfast. It's a small bijou cafe with more competition surrounding it in the street. It does have outdoor seating so good for sunny days and fresh air people. A popular commuter stop and worth a visit for snacks. Check out the classic Gaggia Tipo America, I read it's older than bar Italia's in Soho and the oldest in London.

Italian run coffee shop opposite Putney Bridge Station. As would be expected they serve great coffees and savoury food. The staff are extremely friendly and remember customer's favourite drinks. More room to sit outside than in. Highly recommended.

Such genuine care about the customer, in my brief stop for a bit of breakfast I overheard the group next to me had wished to order bacon sandwiches, which unfortunately he could not offer. After a minute or two the patron came out, informed the customers they could get bacon sandwiches from the cafe next door and eat them in his shop if they wished.Little things like that make lifetime customers.Excellent quality, great service and price is in line with the of the rest of the industry.The pump espresso on the coffee machine is also pretty cool to watch.

We were overjoyed to find a great cup of coffee in London. The people who waited on us were wonderful and it is such a family experience. There are only a handful of cappuccino shops that I rave about and now, this one is on my list.

I ordered a quick espresso at the counter and asked if they accepted cards as I had no small change to pay for my order. I was warned that there would be an extra charge for such a small card payment which I accepted as I didn't have time to look for a ATM nearby. I was served an espresso macchiato, which wasn't what I ordered but to avoid being difficult I said it was fine anyway. As soon as the lady serving me discovered I was Italian and also a native speaker, I was accused of being frivolous and disrespectful. After paying for my caffe' macchiato with my card, the obnoxious lady told me that there was a cash machine just across the road. Thanks I million for telling me earlier I thought! I will certainly not be returning again, which is a shame as the coffee they make is actually quite authentic.

A great coffee with an authentic Italian experience! A family owned business next to Putney Bridge. With an old 1950's rustic feel, it makes for a great place for morning coffee with a few seats. Alternatively, perfect for coffee on the go (any many people do next to the station). A wide range of food from sandwiches to Croissants. This place is in London so its not cheap. But the same prices as everyone else in the area. I recommend the espresso! Nice a strong!

Popped in here for a quick coffee on a Saturday afternoon. What an amazing find ... real coffee made the traditional way. All the coffee machines date from the 1950s and the owner restores them himself. You can literally taste the difference! The coffee house itself is both charming & quirky and contains a number of old vintage coffee machines, it's a bit of a shrine to good coffee. Well worth a visit ... I stated for 2 hours!

Lovely made Mocha. Actually the best i tasted so far. Always served with a smile. I usually always pop in when strolling pass Putney bridge station. The atomosphere is nice and chilled and sometimes i'll order one of the tasty pastries on the side

Came here on impulse instead of premier Inn breakfast and glad I did. Coffee is great from a very old expresso machine and a nice range croissants.

Just around the corner from Putney Bridge station this little gem was busy due a game at Craven Cottage but service was quick. No room inside except for the queue but tables and chairs outside. I didn't eat anything but the pre-made ciabattas etc all looked fresh and tempting. Bought a small latte for £2.30 which was not the usual milk shake but tasted of good coffee.

This place is right outside Putney bridge tube station and around the corner from the Premier Inn Hotel. It can be very busy at times, but the coffee was great, and the simple toasted cheese and salami rolls very tasty for a snack. There is a small area outside with table and chairs to sit if you want.

A tiny local cafe. Nice coffee and staff is friendly :) The cafe is really and it wouldn't fit more than 10 customers at the same time. Some seats outside though so it's fine for summer days. Worth a visit if you're around putney :)

You want a coffe which actually smells like coffee and is not mixed with other stuf? Then go to doctor espresso and you'll get a coffee like in italy.I don't know if it is the best coffee in town but it is a very good one which comes pretty close to the italian ones.Highly recommended

I really enjoyed this place for their pastries, sandwiches and unbelievable coffee. You can't really go wrong by checking this place out but I would make sure you aren't in a super rush because I noticed they were running a little behind. Not their fault for being so successful though. I would come here again.

I stumbled upon this little cafe when looking for a place to eat with my friend. Everything there is hand made, and there was a good selection of sandwiches and chorizos. I had the spinach chorizo and it was so darn good I just had to go get another! The people behind the counter were incredibly friendly, and very knowledgeable on the area. If I had a chance I'd go back here for breakfast every day!

Good coffee with old skool manual coffee machine. But had to wait 10 min for take away coffee - too long in my mind for a simple service.

This is a fantastic little place, hidden away from the madding crowds, but yet next door to Putney Bridge tube station. I go here all the time and thought it was about time I put a review on here. Their coffee is the best I have ever had without a doubt and they also do a lovely selection of HOMEMADE food. The queues can sometimes go out of the door, but its well worth it and as for the people who own/run it, well you simply couldn't ask for better,nicer people. They do have a small seating area outside, so if you find yourself in Putney, take a walk there, you won't be disappointed. :-)

This place is tiny and is extremely popular, so I fear by reviewing it, people will want to come here too. I fell in love with this little place right across the road from Putney Bridge station thanks to their excellent food, amazing coffee and their extraordinary customer service.These Italians know their coffee. So much that they have the oldest working manual coffee machine in operation there. I am also in love with their fruit crumbles as well.. simply amazing.

I think this is a very good bar, food is excellent... although just a word of warning: I went to it because of review said they were making proper italian style porchetta sandwiches (rare, not heated). Well, it's not the case. They make them, but in the usual style of italian delis in London, that means, they're in a very good focaccia bread, then put in a hot grill press. They are very good and tasty, but if in a moment of homesickness you feel crazily in need of the real thing or look somewhere else!

I have never reviewed for Trip Advisor before but feel this charming and delicious place deserved a review. I hate for the good word to get out as I would rather keep it a secret but the people that work there, the food, all homemade, the coffee absolutely delicious and the atmosphere so charming that I felt the need to thank them for making my visit there everyday such a treat!

I live nearby and its the best coffee within a mile. The staff are friendly and you can practice some Italian rude words on them too. The pastries and snacks are good as well, recommend the brownie and macchiato about 3:30-4pm

Sono romana e sono stata a Londra una settimana. Ho scoperto questo delizioso locale, intimo, romantico...me ne sono innamorata subito! I ragazzi del personale sono gentilissimi, simpatici, e mi hanno aiutato con varie "dritte" su come visitare la città. La proprietaria poi: sembrava una vecchia amica d'infanzia! I dolci sono buonissimi, sia quelli italiani che quelli "internazionali". Ci ho fatto colazione tutti i giorni, seduta al tavolino tra fiori e frutta....e mi manca!

I shouldn't really be reviewing this cafe at all, especially as it was already crowded with people who had presumably discovered its charms a long time before I did. I cannot however resist the temptation to sing its praises in terms of the great coffee, fabulously fattening / tasty food and its incredibly friendly staff. If this place was on my doorstep I would be dead within a month either from overeating, or from being run over by one of the numerous buses which run so close to its outdoor eating area.

This is where I treat myself every morning on the way to work. My favourite coffee in London and I haven't found any better. The guys behind the bar are friendly and cheerful (obviously talented Baristas!!).Please go there and try their coffees. I haven't yet tried, but they make homemade Italians treats as well.Always a brilliant atmosphere in the mornings with relaxing jazz usually playing. Great visit!!

The drinks and food were delicious! We ordered coffee, hot chocolate and a canoli and they were nothing short of delicious. We sat outside surrounded by a flower shop and it was the perfect atmosphere to sit and relax. The staff was very nice and friendly. Definitely going back!

Doctor Espresso makes the perfect espresso from a very impressive old Espresso Machine. You get a short strong shot rather than a large cup with weak coffee as you get from most coffee chains.The atmosphere is friendly and can be a bit cramped but you never feel you can't stay and enjoy your drink

Ok, this is the only panino con porchetta I have tried so far in London but frankly speaking, I don't feel like trying it anywhere else. This place isreally worth a visit (maybe two, three, four...). The staff is very nice and they choose with care the soundrack for your perfect pause... If you jump in to grab "just a coffee", this is the place to go thanks to their expertise and a fab Gaggia machine. But beware if you are on a diet. When you enter you are tempted by the charming panini and calzoni on display right in front of your nose. Their secret? Fresh ingredients supplied directly from Italy. Apart from the delicious porchetta served in a crunchy delicious ciabatta bread, try the calzoni: salsiccia and salamino were amazing and I will go back again and again to taste new combinations of tasty and genuine products from Italy.

My husband and I went to London last May for a friend's wedding. We chose to stay in this neighborhood because of its proximity to the wedding venue. When we visit again, we will most certainly stay in this area and the Doctor Esspresso Cafeteria is one of the reasons. Since may is still chilly, a latte first thing in the morning will set you straight for the day to come! The sandwiches and Panninis are great too! Great location directly across the street from the tube station! The lovely owner is so warm and sweet! You won't be disappointed! I miss it so much I'm a Facebook fan. I get daily reminders of my fabulous London trip with each update!!

Non è difficile trovare un angolo di Italia a Londra, ma questo ha una sua identità: davanti alla metro di Putney Bridge si servono brioche e cappuccini a tutte le etnie presenti in città... The coffee, which is some of the best you'll find, is backed up by some lovely Italian food: panini, calzone, pizza, pasta & salad, along with some delicious cakes and pastries. So far I've managed to sample a couple of the calzone and a couple of the cakes, all of which were delicious.<p>Finally, Doctor Espresso Caffetteria, although small, is a great place; the decor is quirky, but well thought out and the outdoor seats are a delight in the summer. The staff, all of whom (bar one) are Italian are friendly and helpful, giving the place a very neighbourhood feel. Worth getting off the train specifically for a visit!
