This food is amazing proper chinese

We have been ordering for 3/4 years now after trying other local Chinese takeaways. This one has the old school feel unlike the bland tasting new ones that have popped up. The food tastes just like i remember as a kid. We've not had 1 reason to complain about the food or service and will continue to order. 2 things that you need to remember. The front of the shop doesn't look inviting but the food is A1 and they are not open Wednesdays.

Ordered for my daughter birthday given a time of 7 45 eventually turned up at 8 35 nothing was hot chips were like cardboard must have been reheated lots of times Been using this place for over 20years but never Again

Good value for money lovely food

I have been searching for a decent Chinese in Barking and Dagenham. The outside does not look inviting looks old and dirty BUT it has five scores on the hygiene ratings therefore tried it. Won’t be going no where else food was so nice. not at all greasy. I recommend to the highest and I’m very fussy well done chef

Good takeaway. Tasty food. Seems to always be busy, popular. Check/phone before going there as last Wednesday wasn't open previous time we wanted on a Tuesday wasn't open finally managed to get food on way home from shift Friday night arriving 9.55pm. There is a delivery service.

Put a big order through, when it finally arrived this is what their beef chop suey looked like. It had a tomato taste, red sauce, and the only vegetable was bean sprouts. I called the restaurant to give them a chance to fix the order but they weren't bothered. They said this is their recipe they've been doing for 5 years even if it's not the traditional chop suey? I mean when you order a traditional dish you expect it to be traditionally made, if they put a twist to it they should name it something else or at least explain on the description. See picture of untouched food and judge for yourself. I won't be ordering again.

Been getting takeaways from here for over 20 years. Old owner was a pleasure. These new ones not so good. Last two time we have been over charged by £5... the just eat menu price is different to what you are charged if you phone them direct. Should he other way around as the website charges them for service... first time we thought we must have got it wrong so let it go but again yesterday. Very disappointed with customer service since chef cam left. Food is nicer than when these new people first took over but still not as nice as chef cam. Will now be funding another takeaway. Shame

Had food from here before, not great but if you're hungry it will do. Tried to get something last night only to be told they don't accept cards. Cash only. They obviously think it's still the 1950s. Won't be going back.

It wasn’t the worse but speed could be faster. Had to wait for an hour for delivery despite being very close by. Food was tasty but I’m not a fan of their curry sauce. I’d probably come again as there wasn’t anything majorly wrong, but could have space for improvement.

I was skeptical because of previous reviews however, the food was excellent and service was friendly. We walked in to collect our order and was waiting a few minutes as they had not heard us walk through the door and was busy in the kitchen. The gentleman was extremely polite and apologetic and offered us some extra prawn crackers. Delivery times I cannot vouch for but I can honestly say even the best restaurants have let me down with delivery in the past. Going by the food quality, portion size and very friendly staff, this will be my regular.

Ordered a takeaway for collection this evening and have to say the food was excellent and cooked very well. I ordered the combo started, a quarter duck and crispy shredded beef. All was cooked perfectly and will definitely be ordering from here again.

Ordered at 9.10pm and got told 35/45 mins turned up 1 hour and 20 mins later. The dishes were too salty very greasy and would not serve to a dessert rat

The only Chinese that tastes like an Indian, I ordered chinese but thought I was eating Indian, totally disgusting !!!

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!! I ordered something and called to confirm what was inside. It came and was totally overcooked and without any pork, prawn or chicken. I am very disappointed with this service and the food and would not recommend this place to anyone! The ratings will of course keep getting poorer and poorer because the chef does not know how to cook, and the person who picks up the call does not wish to dialogue reasonably with customers. My advice to you is to stay away from this place.

I found meat in my seafood soup.And the meat was pink/red colour left over from sweet chilli dish.Rest of the order only onions

I ordered from from justeat. I was waiting for 3 hours and then they canceled the order. I try to call but no one answered.

Some of the sizes of the meals have shrunk a lot over the last year or so, especially the spare ribs. Also there is a lack of authenticity with the current owners

Very nice food, would definitely recommend. Only drawback was of the portions were a little too big. Portions should be smaller and therefore a bit cheaper.

Gave us old prawn curry suffering with GI problems. Really bad they gave old curry. PLS DONT DO IT AGAIN TO ANYONE.

Not quite sure how this place had 4.1 stars, which is why I chose it. The spicy vermicelli noodles were so basic and had no flavour except salt and curry powder, which hadn't been cooked out properly and there was only 1 or 2 peices of chicken/pork. The sweet and sour chicken balls had a weird taste and texture so didn't bother to eat them, something wasn't right. Better off doing it myself next time. It's not rocket science!

Bad food, lack of meat in food is expected nowadays due to cost. Food was warm prawn balls weren't a grey colour inside and not cooked properly. The staff attitude on The phone I rung and there off was poor and they explained they cooked the wrong ones out of the fridge the others were to be thrown as they bad. Why they still in the fridge then ??? Never again would I eat there, recommend or either suggest this place to anyone.

I think Dinnerbox is under new management.We have used this Chinese for years and it was always really nice but lately it's not been as nice.Its ok

1.5 hours to to have three dishes delivered, not good sent delivery driver back , surprised these people are still in business.

The food is awful! I think everything is pre cooked & just heated in a microwave. No love & affection has gone in to anything they serve. I would never eat here again!

Delivery was 1 hour late, the food was cold and very bland. The chicken was still raw, very pink. They refused to issue a refund or to deliver freshly cooked food.

Normally the best in Dagenham. I was disappointed as they did not make my rice spicy as requested in the notes. Normally excellent but this order let me down. Hope you guys remember next time. The bbq ribs were wicked though

Fantastic food tonight. Must have, had a great chef on duty. Have ordered in the past and not always 'outstanding' as it was tonight, to be honest.. Will definitely purchase again, to be fair we do anyway as this is not too far away from us. Keep this chef, their great. Many thanks

Buy from here a couple of times per month - food always piping hot, freshly cooked & tasty. Also is a reasonable price.
