Dewdrop Public House in Eastbourne

Super friendly bar staff, love the seating arrangements, very comfortable. Food was great! Chef didn’t want to swap the sauce from the bbq and maple sriracha tenders with the extras on the menu, so I ended up ordering plain tenders with the garlic sauce and had the bbq sauce swapped with the maple sriracha for the same price, just without the extra cheese, bacon bits and pickles which was a shame. But no love lost. Just wish the chef had been a little more lenient. I tipped for the barman going to the kitchen and asking for me.

I had a wonderful solo dining experience at the Dew Drop Inn. Darsey was very welcoming and kind, making me feel right at home. The food was fantastic. Highly recommended!

Don’t let people in if they don’t have an English ID. Went to the pub with a group of friends (ALL WORK FOR THE NHS AT EASTBOURNE HOSPITAL) and were refused entry because one was Irish and one was American. Doormen stated that the new policy is they don’t let anyone in without an English ID. Both had ID and even a residency work permit but were still refused entry. Crazy policy. How are you meant to have an English ID if you aren’t English. Won’t be returning.

This pub is super nice, with great decor, selection of drinks and chilled vibes. It is unfortunately let down by the extravagant prices I paid £6.40 for a guiness. A pint of neck oil will set you back £7.50. Such a shame as its a really nice place. Needs to realise its in Eastbourne, not central London.

The Dew Drop is a very welcoming pub. I can't fault their burgers & fries; and their selection of beers is very satisfactory.

This is mine and my colleagues' favourite place to go for a burger at lunch. The lunchtime deal is great value for money, and the burgers are incredible. We always look forward to seeing what the "Burger of The Month" is! Do not be fooled by the overall rating, a lot of the negative reviews were during covid or complaining about the head on a pint. The food is definitely a great reason to visit. The staff are very friendly, in particular the manager.

Great choice of beers, enjoyed the Harold's Eye from Battle Brewery. Burgers were epic, perfectly cooked. Loaded fries very good.

Not been in this pub for years, and was glad to see it had not changed that much. Was with a group of old friends and found a big table with comfy seats. It was 2.30pm and the bar was busy, always a good sign. After a couple of beers, took a look at the menu, with the burgers all themed around song titles (bonus points for a Hawkwind inspired burger title!) I ordered a couple of burgers with fries/curly fries that came to £30. Food arrived shortly after and was piping hot and really tasty, best burger I’ve had in a long time! Washed it down with a full afternoon of drinking and left the pub a few sheets to the wind later that evening. Bit of a weathespoons mission to get to the toilets, but there are disabled facilities on the ground floor. A great pub.

Great selection of gluten free menu options for a vegetarian coeliac. They will adapt anything on the menu. Friendly atmosphere and garden.

Really friendly and welcoming staff, with a quirky/interesting vibe (especially for us rock’n’roll folk) 😉 the burgers were delicious, although we are not local, we’d love to come back again.

Looking for dog friendly pubs in Eastbourne and choose the Dew Drop inn. We were not disappointed, surprised at the décor but it was very friendly, good staff, really nice food and friendly locals who would speak with you. Dog treats and water were available. Not expensive, small menu but great. The real ale was simply great. Its not the "W/Spoons of the wind bar but basic real pub (except for the décor on the stars!) Nice atmosphere but agree with previous reviews regarding 2 finger head rule. One female bartender managed to serve a perfect pint, kindly warning of the extortionate price but the second absolutely massacred the drink by pouring a 3 inch head then pouring it out into a second glass repeatedly to achieve a two finger pint. Result was a flat pint. When questioned about the beer she seemed rude and inconsiderate. I’m assuming dirty lines as I was sick afterwards. Never been served a beer in such an unappetising way, especially considering the £7 something it cost.

One of our neighbours has been talking about the fantastic burgers at The Dew Drop Inn so my husband and I decided to come and see for ourselves on Tuesday lunchtime. We were warmly greeted by the lady on the bar (she was the only person serving) and she talked us through the burger menu and the special weekday lunchtime deal. My husband chose the BBQ burger whilst I had the bacon/cheese burger, one with curly fries and the other with skinny fries. My husband had one of the guest ales whilst I had a soft drink. We were advised that it would be about 20 minutes until our food was served, but that was no problem to us. It meant we could enjoy our drinks whilst people watching and seeing what others were eating! Our burgers were absolutely delicious - and the portions were far bigger than we expected. But we managed to finish everything! The food had obviously been cooked to order (on this particular day there was no brie so I had cheddar instead) and I would much prefer to wait a while for fresh food rather than it appear immediately! Total cost was £25 which we felt was excellent value for money. Thanks for a very enjoyable lunchtime burger meal deal.

Another victim of the ‘two finger’ policy for a head on a pint. That equates to approx 20% of a pint. £6.90 for Beavertown Neck Oil so effectively stealing £1.39 each pint they pour. Every 5 pints they get a free one. Has to be a scam. Manager clearly didn’t understand their glassware and tried to convince me that a beavertown glass is a pint up to where the word ‘Pint’ is printed, i.e about 1 1/2inches from the rim. I asked them to demonstrate with another glass and a pint of water but it seems it’s the only pub in the world without a standard pint glass. Will forward my experience to ESCC Trading Standards. Other than that, lovely vibe in the place, no football or TVs either.

After frequenting this bar for many years I can confidently say I will not be back after our experience this evening. After raising an issue about not receiving 2 of our drinks following a large order, a young member of staff got upset. She seemed very overwhelmed as it was so busy being the weekend before Christmas. For clarity we asked very politely and calmly about this. This was eventually was corrected by a manager (I think) without apology, and we also felt quite reluctantly. A friend of mine (whilst ordering our second round of over £50) made a comment to the bar staff how she felt this was handled inappropriately as the manager was quite rude. This then escalated with a member of staff, called Tim, saying he would not serve her any further drinks. The bouncer then came and asked her to leave which felt completely absurd and unwarranted. We had a whole round of drinks which we had to abandon which we felt was due to some feedback about a rude staff member being taken completely out of proportion. We had to leave our full drinks as we would not let our friend leave on her own. This is honestly feedback to help your service going forward, not a rant. I just felt genuinely upset and compelled to share how this made us feel as customers.

I have been here several times for the burgers and every time they have been amazing. Reasonably priced as the servings are huge, you won't be hungry when you are done! We used to be regulars to the Dew Drop and never had anything but a superb meal. We have not been back for a few months but as we were in Eastbourne today we were looking forward to popping in for a burger. How disappointed we were! The menu has been drastically reduced - no lamb burger (a real shame) & many other thing missing. So, we decided to order 2 cheeseburgers- these arrived lukewarm, tough and with lots of gristle - what unpleasant change from our previous experiences here. We were asked if we wanted skinny fries, curly fries or sweet potato. My husband ordered the skinny fries which were pale and tasteless. I said I would just go with the curly fries that were advertised as coming with the burger - they arrived with an extra charge of nearly £2 per portion.

Este pub tiene un personal muy amable y un jardín de quemamos hamburguesas muy sabroso. Son muy buena relación calidad-precio y muy abundante. También hacer el mejor patatas dulces fritas con salsa de crema agria. Una visita muy recomendable, pasar fácilmente un buen par de horas sentado en el sol toma la gran selección de cervezas y sidras tienen en oferta con algo fuera del menú.

i love the dew drop, it's a lovely small pub with a small garden (patio) at the back. really cosy in winter too with a log fire. the thing i love most about the dew drop is their burgers! you really do need to pop in if your near by. the monster burger is HUGE and worth having if you can handle it.

Visitamos porque nos gustó la respuesta positiva en las hamburguesas y no nos decepcionó en ellos. No se puede decir lo mismo para la calidad de la ale que otros han comentado. Esto era pobre y sólo tenían una pinta como consecuencia. Disco lleno y reggae que hizo difícil hablar.

Vueltas por allí en fin de año. Música reggae del sistema de sonido debajo de la ventana. Supongo que es un pub de baile como sillas y mesas eran finas en la planta baja y algunas estaban reservadas. El personal del bar se les preguntó su opinión sobre la selección de cervezas de barril pero no podría ayudarnos. Lo suficientemente Educado pero claramente no es nuestra escena.
