Dee Dee's Family Cafe in Warrington

This place needed a good clean. Sat on leather sofas near the window which were all torn. The floor needed a good sweep and the table hadn’t been wiped. Was glad to get out.

Not sure why this still has signed up saying Dee dees as it is now a Costa without the full Costa range of food. We were a family who just wanted a cake and coffee. My daughter had a chocolate muffin which was so dry she could not eat it. I asked what vegan cakes they had to which she replied “ we have gluten free that’s the same as vegan isn’t it” to which I replied no it is not the same so she told me to look at the list They had in the counter showing allergies listing.it was so not user friendly I gave up but my daughter keen for me not be left out of the treat kept looking and found the mince looked vegan so she ordered me one. Little later the waitress came over and suggested if I had an allergies I should just try a little bit at first to make sure I was ok before eating any more, I understand she was being helpful in her own way but this did to fill me with much confidence. I think training needed on what They are selling. Shame as we just wanted a treat and I know Costa are keen to give vegans options but not here I am afraid . On the plus side the stars are for the coffee which was nice.
