Really bad experience had the mini fish special tried to put the meal on a kid's tray didn't want the peas on the fish wanted the peas separate ended up arguing really spoilt my day really disappointed

Taken my granddaughter out ,and stopped for a bite to eat .we both enjoyed the meal and we will be back soon

Firstly food is good! Taking liberties with people who require gluten free food though! •Mini fish, chips and peas £7 •GLUTEN FREE mini fish, chips and peas £10.80! We coeliacs have to accept a small increase in price for GF foods but over 50% you're clearly abusing this! I won't eat here on principal alone, disgusting approach to what looked like a great thing to be able to have GF fish & chips!

First takeaway food since finding a gluten intolerance (@55yo) Awesome fish and chips, 100% will be visiting again.

We haven't had fish and chips for years since my husband's coeliac diagnosis so finding a place with a full gluten free menu was the best thing ever. And the fish and chips were amazing. They brought them out to me while I waited in the car but it was only a few minutes. Will definitely be using this regularly!

My meal was not as good as usual. Cod looked old batter poor first time disappointed. 2/5 from me this time.

Chippies aren't as cheap as they used to be that's for sure BUT I'm happy to pay for a quality, tasty meal and that's exactly what you get from here.. Gorgeous food every time

My usual chip shop was shut and I ventured on for another and Dave’s place was first up. This will be my go-to from now on, fantastic quality food, wonderful staff, easy parking and great prices I was shocked. It’s a little out of the way off the main road but is so worth the visit hats off to all the staff.

Well ignore prices in this website, all prices are more in the shop, been different for a while they told me. I had mini fish and mix, advertised at £5.99 but actually cists £6.50. They need to change the website!!

We came here for the kebab combo and we weren't disappointed. Next time we have our eye on the deep fried burger.

The main food was nice, but they have changed the onion rings and tonight they were pale and not cooked

Beautiful gluten free food. We shared fish, chips and mushy peas. My non gf hubby said how lovely it all was too. Hot fresh food, clean premises, lovely staff. They even delivered the food to our car as there was a slight wait ( there is at most establishments when ordering GF food). Couldn't really ask for more. Would highly recommend and we will definitely visit again.

Great staff and best chip shop ever

Food always beautiful. Takes too long to get served on a Friday night. 25 minutes I stood in the queue before placing my order.

I've lived in many towns and citys through the years and always had a favourite chippy wherever I've been. I have to say Dave's Place is the best of the best with consistently good food and a great team to serve it up. It never fails to deliver.

Visited dave's place 2/12/23 food was great what bit you got, ordered large chips and I thought we had a child's portion if you like a good plate full this is definitely not the place for you .

Absolutely bang on, I work in the north and Notts and always make sure I have got time to call in here when I’m in the area. Ordered small fish and chips, battered sausage and a can of pop. 20% off because of black Friday week so was only around £5.50

One of my favourite places to eat. The staff are really friendly and the food is great. I've also carried out work in the shop and can see they take pride in the cleanliness of the shop and food prep areas.

Appalling, wouldn’t bother. food is awful. Sat in warmer for ages. Wont put a fresh fish in for you if you ask. Crazy Over priced, cost me £15 for large fish chips and mushy peas which I wouldn’t feed my dog. always forget things from order so have to drive back to shop to which the Customer service is awful.

Attempted to purchase ‘special menu’ mini fish, chips, ‘sauce/side’ (curry, gravy, beans etc) which I asked for no sauce/side. This caused a massive problem for some reason where the staff basically became borderline aggressive and rude, insisting I had the sauce due to some reason I still cannot fathom?!! Any other chip shop I have been to and asked for no sauce/side have never identified this request as a problem.🤷‍♂️

It was okay, to be honest the chips and pie were all a bit soggy.

Our first time here with gf food. Super impressed. Our food came bagged and tagged so no cross contamination from other food. Good portion size. Gf batter on the fish was delicious 😋

Great staff, loved the fish n chips, couldn't finish the large cod, used to go to forest town chippy but this is my new fav. Chips a bit on small side but worth if for the better quality 😁

I've been going to George's Tradition for years due to proximity but since moving to Mansfield, Dave's Place has been the best place to go. Great selection and deals. Just wish they'd do the Leak, Cheese and Potato Pukka Pie 😉

In my humble opinion, the best traditional fish & Chip shop in Mansfield. Great fresh fish and tasty chips. A good range of choice. Consistently good and efficient friendly service. Very clean and easy access and parking. Highly recommended.

My parents always came here for a takeaway, never had any issues and was always bang on, yet yesterday the Donner meat made them swell and unable to breathe. They’re not allergic to anything and have never had any allergies. They’ve never had this problem before here but will be going elsewhere as that’s not safe.

Been going to Dave's place for years (maybe 10+) but lately like every thing else it's gone up in price BUT the portions are tiny nowadays! Chips are still half decent but cannot justify paying over the odds when they're so many other chippys just as nice, cheaper but actually give you decent portions

Always really good fish & chips, which is reflected by the queue, but the staff cope very quickly. Sometimes difficult to park at peak times.

Asked for a sausage, chips and peas, special,, was told don’t do that, ok I’ll have sausage chips and peas,£4.30, looked on the board, sausage chips fishcakes and a sauce £4,50, so I said,, i can get a fishcakes for 20p then? No you don’t ask for that,, (ok I’ll have that then,) they had made my order up,, they only had to put on a fishcake, but the arrogant owner said throw that in the bin and give him his new order, {now the new order comes in a bigger tray but the peas come in a carton} so when I was given my new order,, I tipped the peas out the carton, put some chips in the carton and asked them to put them in the bin too, (to many chips Dave’s head) what a muppet,

Best chippy I've been to fish amazing not greasy at all, chips really nice and staff very friendly. Definitely my new regular place to go.

Visited as we'd read about the gluten free menu as it daughter is coeliac and has missed having a chippy tea!😌 She felt very special when she got her own bag which contained her food all of which was sealed with gluten free stickers. I was very impressed! all of the food was great Inc non gluten free! Wasn't given or we left our drink which was included with the kids boxed meal but we'll definitely be back!

Great selection and quality of food, not many chippies do gluten free and the selection of gf food is more than usual here and my partner who is a celiac has had no issues, great place 👌
