We dined here for the first time last night and were very impressed. We were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff who also gave us recommendations when we asked. We had a lovely meal and will definitely return again.

Visited in December after a night out in Wolverhampton, it was not planned we all just decided last minute we wanted food and this was the first place we stumbled across. I have to eat gluten free so sometimes struggle to eat out but am normally ok with Indian restaurants but once inside we realized this was a Nepalese restaurant, however the menu had symbols on for gluten options so presumed this restaurant would be ok. The waiter who seated us tried to get us to have some dhumro I explained I may not be able to have them because I am gluten free and he said the sentence every coeliac dreads, “it’s ok they are vegan”. This in itself was very concerning as a restaurant should really be clued up on the difference between vegan and gluten free as they are completely different things. As we were with a lot of people I didn’t want to ask to leave at this point so I thought I would just ignore the dhumro and go for the main, however the waiter then very confidently stated I could have the poppadum’s. The dhumro and poppadums’ came out and whilst nibbling on those we placed our orders for the mains. There were symbols for what I could and couldn’t have so I was confident with my order. Around 5 minutes later another waiter came over and told me that what I had ordered was not suitable for me. I was confused as it said on the menu it was fine but I was with a group of friends and am not someone to cause a fuss so explained I would have anything that was suitable. The mains for our friends had now started to come out when he came back and told me there was nothing at all on the menu I could have. There really was not much I could do at this point as my friends meals were being handed out. My husband could see how disappointed I was and said he would not eat if I couldn’t. At that point a waitress ran over and took my poppadum plate away saying I couldn’t have them they were not suitable but I had literally eat them all other than a few crumbs. I could have cried at this point, not only did they not have any food for me but they had given me food I was not supposed to eat which had been recommended by the first waiter. My husband booked us an uber so we didn’t have to sit and watch people eat and we left. I wrote to the restaurant just into the new year and I did not get a response. All staff in food establishments should be trained to know what allergies are so that they don’t get vegans and coeliacs mixed up, a vegan eating something they don’t want to eat will not make them physically ill, a coeliac eating something they shouldn’t will make them physically ill and sometimes for weeks. Also restaurants should not provide a menu that has symbols if you cannot cook for us. Just state on your menu you do not cater for gluten free and then at least we have an option to go elsewhere before placing orders and being utterly embarrassed. I will give credit where credit is due and say that my friends said there food was lovely but as this is my review and not theirs then this is based on my experience. If I could have given zero stars then I would have done but the minimum is 1, since being gluten free this is the worst experience I have ever encountered

I recently celebrated a family members birthday at Darshan Lounge. The food was delicious, and we were truly impressed by the outstanding customer service and hosting provided by Alvaro. The restaurant was clean, and the convenience of a flat car park opposite made our visit even more convenient. Highly recommend Darshan Lounge for a good blend of great food and brilliant customer service. Suitable for all people whether in a group, couple or dining solo.

Amazing food & service. All staff and manager so humble and nice. Waiting time is also very less as complete to other restaurants. We been tired whole day and thought that we should try this as I heard from other people that they make tasty food. They served us very well. Everything is so delicious. High quality food with a good flavour, aroma, appearance, and texture. Highly recommended

Nice ambiance with great service, amazing foods

Our first visit to Darshan Lounge but certainly won't be the last. We tried after reading the reviews. We recieved the warmest of welcome. The service was second to none and the food was fantastic, so aromatic and tasty. We had a brilliant time. We will definitely back soon!

We thought that we would try this restaurant based upon reviews from others. We originally were going to visit a local Thai restaurant but it had no room, we are really glad that we got turned away and ended up here. Initially the restaurant looked quite empty, however this was due to them having most of their tables reserved. We were greeted and seated immediately and all of the staff were very knowledgeable about the available food. Although we viewed the menu, the staff gave us recommendations on what they felt are the best dishes, so we ordered those. The food and service were both excellent and if ever we are in that area again we will definitely book a table and visit again.

First time customer. Me and my daughter have just had one of the nicest meals for a long time. Had a mixed grill and a lamb Naga curry to share. Everything full of flavour, and the lamb was extremely soft and flavoursome. Will definitely be going back.

Both the food and presentation are superb and are on a higher level to most Indian restaurants. The lamb was some of the nicest I have eaten and the flavours in the food were divine. Probably one of the best Nepalese or any Indian restaurants I have eaten in.

Food: Amazing! Probably the best curry I’ve ever had in the UK. Service: Great! Friendly and attentive. Atmosphere: A bit tacky. Strange cold blue lighting but didn’t stop us from having a fantastic evening. I’ve noticed this lighting is a bit of a trend in uk curry houses these days and I don’t get it personally. A restaurant should have warm cosy inviting lighting. Just my opinion.

Ordered takeaway. Did not accommodate for Desi style even after Mentioning this on cooking instructions. Was given some excuse for a savory halwa when I ordered butter chicken.

I had a hard time not being able to have real Nepalese food but I’m ecstatic to have found Darshan Lounge! Talk about feeling nostalgic! The customer service is like nothing I’d experienced before and the food took me back to my mother’s kitchen. I have found my home away from home!

Wow! Real Nepalese food! I had the chilli momos for starters and the Naga Akbhare Lamb! Lovely taste; just like being in Nepal! Great staff who did everything to make me feel welcomed! Telling all my friends about it!

From the moment you open the door, you're welcomed into the Darshan family with open arms. We've ordered as takeaway before, so we know the food was out-of-this-world, but the service was just incredible. Every member of staff interacted with my 3 year old and 1 year old - the former eagerly calling out to engage in conversation. Our waiter became part of the experience, navigating us through the meals, whilst ensuring ours (and guests outside our party) were well looked after. This was our final meal together with my family before we depart to travel SEA (Nepal included!) and without them realising this, made it a memory that will stay with us forever. A great testament to the Nepalese cuisine and a must-visit for any food lover in Wolverhampton.

One of the best meals out I've ever had!! From the moment we walked through the doors we were warmly welcomed and looked after by Alvarro and the waitresses, friendly chat at the table and nothing was too much trouble, we all had different meals and each one was fantastic (especially the drunken lamb 👌).no long waits for service or for our meal to be cooked and as soon as there was an empty plate or glass it was cleared out of the way or refilled. This place gets a 10 out of 10 from me and my family and we will definitely be returning soon..

This place is hidden gem,, delicious freshly prepared food.. so much choice on the menu,, I highly recommend this place.. Sandesh was very friendly and thank you for making me a cocktail.. 5 star

It's very unusual for me to write a review on the same day as my visit but I was so impressed with this place that I just wanted to tell someone. The wife and I had a great time here, we have had a few average meals out recently which possibly made this place even more enjoyable. In all honesty the only thing I would suggest could be improved was the texture of the kebab which was a bit on the firm side. Everything else was just perfect for us. A well presented dining area, warm, with a friendly atmosphere. They have the perfect front man in the extremely amenable and possibly unique Alvarro, you can't help but 'love' him. The waitresses are excellent, so pleasant, thoughtful and attentive. A Nepalese menu of course with different offerings to your more common Bangladeshi restaurants. Check out the Nepalese poppadoms for a start. On our visit I noticed that many people were trying the Specials as did I. If in doubt I suggest the curry is a safe bet, if you like a Madras then the Naga is a great option. In brief what we had was stunning, although I would prefer a home style pilau rice rather than their tri colour but not a problem as we had plain basmati. Elsewhere, tender chicken, flavoursome gravies, tasty garlic and coriander naan and crispy chips, all accompanied with a large bottle of Gurkha beer and a super merlot. Most unusually the wife decided to finish with to a pistachio kulfi from one of those 'bought in' desserts you typically see on a printed card. However it appeared as though they had reused the pot and filled it with their own version. Misleading, yes, but theirs was much creamier than it would have been. The door was opened for us and we left on a high. Well worth seeking out, I am already looking forward to my next visit.

Wow! Went to another curry house just round the corner and got ignored for 20 mins, so we thought we’d give Darshan a try! We were greeted by the staff at the door like regulars. And seated with menus immediately. Drinks order taken within a couple of minutes. The staff were just so on it, and attentive. The gentleman, Alvaro is a complete credit to the restaurant and the two ladies were awesome too. Now the food. I used to live round the corner from a great Nepalese curry house (Monty’s, South Ealing), so I had high expectations. Darshan did not disappoint. My Lamb Gorkhali Timur was absolutely superb, I’m salivating writing this and reminiscing about it. My 12 year old son is a connoisseur of all things Chicken Tikka Massla, and he was in food heaven. Naan breads and rice were fantastic compliments without fault. Oy disappointment is that we live 3 hours drive away, but the Darshan will be a regular stop for us whenever we’re back for a Wolves game. Fantastic staff and fantastic food.

Had a fantastic meal with friends, the fish curry and lamb chops were really good - well it all was to be honest. Thanks to Alvaron and the team service was spot on. Not local to Wolvo but we will be back.

The best thing is they are always ready to customise the taste according to the individual taste. Highly recommended!!!!!!!

Me and my partner went for our anniversary. The food was fantastic, full of flavour and so fesh. Definitely try the onion pakora starter and garlic rice with your main. Service was also fantastic, very friendly. Great atmosphere and decor will definitely go again soon. You should definitely try

We went in on a match night the food was great the service was slow 1 hour before food. If they had a smaller menu for match night fixed price with a drink wolves fans would be queueing out the door but they need to be fast and we would be gone by 7 -00 / 7-15 leaving the rest of the night for their normal customers I see you only answer reviews that are good

The team was very welcome when we arrived, It has an upmarket decor & the staff were attentive during our stay. It's very different from anything else in Wolverhampton with the menu having traditional dishes as well as more common options. There is something for everyone. We are looking forward to going back.

Amazing (atmosphere, food and service)

We have eaten here the last two Friday evenings and all I can say is wow! Fantastic service and the food has been 10/10 each time. Its had a bit of a makeover since being New Spice. This is our new go-to curry house, I can't believe its not busy!! May have something to do with all the construction work going on around here.

I visited Darshan Lounge on tuesday all the way from Leicester. It was really worth it. I tried momos (dumplings), golgappa (water balls), which were really really tasty and I can't wait to be there back. Keep it up Darshan Lounge see you soon.

Comfortable, well furnished, town centre Nepalese restaurant with polite, efficient and attentive staff serving freshly cooked delicious food. We visited on an opening promotion night so had the added bonus of 50% discount. But, even at the full price, I would definitely consider returning. One very slight gripe would be that the drinks were a little overpriced. However. It certainly wouldn't deter me from going again.

We could not fault the food and friendly service we had at Darshan Lounge. The decor and atmosphere was lovely. Very fresh and flavoursome food with good size portions. We would recommend a visit and will definitely visit again soon! Eileen and Steve

First time we came by Dharsan on Saturday evening 12 November. Well worth a visit. The fountain of steam from a bowl was a delight to get us in the mood at the starter stage. We also really enjoyed our first taste of Gurkha beer. They are huge bottles with a fresh taste. My Himalayan chicken dish was very tasty and just spicy enough. And the naam bread with butter was the bets I have had in ages. If I have a little gripe it is not being told beforehand that the appetising scallops on the menu were off it but their suggestion to choose spicy prawns instead made up for the slight downer. But above all, we were delighted by the humble and authentic welcome from staff who made us feel at home straightaway and looked after us really well.

We only had time for a main meal before the football and the 3 of us had different main dishes and all 3 really enjoyed the food. We will definitely visit next time we are in Wolverhampton and give ourselves more time to sample the menu

My first visit and has apparently just reopened. Superb meal and excellent beer. Definitely worth another visit before a game at Molineux
