Pleasant atmosphere and great service . The bahn mi was delicious , fresh vegetables and fresh bread with well seasoned and tasty pork . Very very reasonably priced considering the quality and portion , only £2 for the fresh lychee iced tea (which was very good) felt like a steal. Will definitely be back .

It was my first time here and WOW. the chicken flavour was immense, so good. It is really hard to find great Bhan Mi and this was legit. Great flavour, mix of herbs, chili and garlic and the salad ration was bang on. I will defo be a regular. The staff were just lovely too. Excellent, thoughtful service and food made with love 5*****

I realize this goes against the other reviews. Not sure how many have had authentic banh mi. It’s the usual watered down, still a decent alternative to subway for the same money, without the crisps or drink. The first thing I enjoyed about banh mi was the light crispy crust baguette due to the added rice flour which seemed to be missing here. This is due to the French influence in Vietnam mixed with local ingredients. They also substituted cucumbers (gherkins) for the chili peppers. In other words the British version for local clients who wouldn’t know better. I wish ethnic restaurants in UK wouldn’t try so hard to assimilate their food and not giving customers the opportunity to experience some flavor, or maybe they have and Brits don’t want it. The meat was a bit bland also. I think for the same money I would just go to subway and have a larger sandwich with meal deal. The iced coffee was good but not as intense in flavor compared to what I would normally expect at a Vietnamese restaurant.

Coffee was amazing, sandwiches were good, a little bland and needed more filling but still nice. Decent prices. I’ve teas cheap and nice.

Absolutely superb, If you've never had bahn mi it's a Vietnamese toasted baguette sandwich!I personally recommend the roast pork one! they also do some amazing noodle dishes!the fillings are delicious!staff are very friendly! this place is a hit with all my friends!

Visited here with my boyfriend tonight. One of the best bahn mi's I've ever had (and I've had a lot) and the service was spot on. Really lovely people. Couldn't fault anything. Will be back.

Got 2 Go Legends and 1 Go UFO, with some iced teas. Absolutely delicious flavours !!!! And the lady serving was so lovely as well. Great food, excellent customer service and such a cute venue. As a Viet, I’ll definitely be coming back anytime I miss the taste of home :)

Absolutely fantastic food and lovely staff. We now have authentic, gorgeous Bahn Mis in Durham, located in a useful spot right next to the bus ranks. Definitely grab an iced coffee or peach iced tea while you tuck in; fresh veg, rich sauces and quality protein. Inexpensive and filling, definitely check it out!

Fab little place! The banh mi were delicious, we had chicken, classic and grilled pork and they were all fantastic! Bread crispy but not hard! Loved it! Vietnamese iced coffee and lychee iced tea rounded it off! No photos as we ate it too quickly😊

This lovely little place is a very welcome addition to Durham's food scene. I had a classic Bahn Mi, - a crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, baguette stuffed with with Vietnamese pork sausage, loads of fresh mint, coriander, shredded carrots and mayo. Really tasty and a generous portion - it will do me for two lunches. I also tried the iced coffee which was strong and sweet. The prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly and welcoming. I can't wait to return and try the other Bahn mi options which include grilled pork, grilled chicken and tofu and mushroom.

The people who worked at this place while we were here were so so lovely! Offered a free drink with our food for all our friends and checked up on our food while we were eating. They were just generally so sweet and the food is great! I got the grilled chicken and I recommend this place a lot!!😁

This was a delightful find on North Road - really polite and friendly staff that kept thanking us for our patience as our food was being prepared. Yummy food and had a wonderful conversation with one of the workers about me having just travelled in Vietnam! A very positive experience overall and I will be back :)

I had the classic banh mi which has Vietnamese pork sausage in - was delicious with amazingly crispy bread. Also had an iced coffee and I absolutely loved it - Vietnamese iced coffee is different but so tasty. Highly recommend!!

Me and my partner come here multiple times a week and never disappointed. The foods is consistently amazing and the service is astounding. The super duper tasty Banh Mi and we can finally eat it in Durham! The bread is very special, like a crispy baguette. I tried the pork (really good) and the pork sausage one - Legend (it tastes awesomeeee with pate included yumm and a really nice size for 10 pounds including my drink)!!I will be back again 🤣.. Oh, the coffee is also damn good

Cute Vietnamese cafe conveniently located on North Road! The staff are welcoming and friendly- LOVED the chicken sandwich, had it made extra spicy. 👌🏽 and the Vietnamese coffee is delicious too! Skip Greggs and Tesco- visit Banh Mi! Totally worth it 👌🏽

The lovely folks at Bean Social weren't able to serve food today (☹️)so they said to try Cyclo 3.1 next door and to bring the bahn mi back to enjoy in their cafe. The bahn mi (Pure & Legend) were both nom nom and super fresh. Really well priced too for the quality. Lovely friendly team.

One of the nicest banh mi’s I’ve had, a welcome addition to Durham especially with the veggie option! The service was great and the coffee was also delicious, will be a regular customer. Great price and you can also pay card which an earlier review says you can’t.

I tried the chicken sandwich when I walked past and got a taster. I definitely was not disappointed and will go for a full meal. The bread was crispy and fresh and the filling was fab!

The tofu and mushroom banh mi was incredible. I also sampled the traditional iced coffee which was super tasty. Service and food as a whole was 10/10. Definitely recommend!

The food was very tasty and great flavor with very friendly staff. I had vegetarian option with mushrooms and tofu. The sauce was great and mint&coriander made great taste and difference. I love to come back and the fresh cold tea looked nice too.

Love this place! The Vegan Banh Mi was delicious and the Vietnamese coffee even more so. The staff were super friendly and it was nice to be able to sit in. Also conveniently located for the centre of town.

DELICIOUS chicken banh mi, really moist and flavourful meat and the salad inside is so flavourful. Fairly priced too, £6 for a filling hot lunch is good I think. Recommend!

First time for us having a banh mi and a cold lychee tea ,service was great helpful and friendly but they forgot to put salad in the sandwich but once it was brought to their attention it was immediately replaced and a free ice coffee. Really tasty

This is a lovely place with such kind staff and great food. They’re working so hard to make it a great place to eat and it shows. I’m a BIG fan of the BIG sandwich and a watermelon iced tea. Note that they’re currently cash only but don’t let that put you off. Go and support this fab new Durham biz!

Cute little spot on North Road. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had the chicken (UFO) and tofu mushroom (Chay). The chicken was moist, and the tofu mushroom had a wonderful flavour. However, we both agreed we'd happily pay more for more filling (or even more salad), and the salad would have been nice pickled like other bahn mis we've had to add an acidic element. Having said this, for the quality and freshness we'll likely be back again as it is great value for money (£6 for chicken, and £5 for tofu mushroom!!)!

Close, but not quite right. A very tasty sandwich but the flavours just weren't there. It's clear though that the staff have tried really hard. The hodge podge of baguettes (including tiger/giraffe) made it feel more thrown together. I'm sure in coming weeks/months if a local source for traditional Vietnamese baguettes can be found this place could be amazing. Their coffee though... Strong, flavourful and really hit the spot! Also, cash only for now, maybe a sign in the window?

As a Vietnamese living here for a long time, I long for this to open ever since their sign was up!! Had grilled pork Banh mi and 1 drip coffee. Tasted like HOME 😍. Keep up the good work guys!!

Down today for their practice run open day. Ordered the classic banh mi and a Vietnamese drip coffee. Sandwich was crisp and tasty and probably as near as you'll get to the real deal in the north east of England. Coffee was strong and sweet, just as a Vietnamese coffee should be. I'll be going back. Go and support this place, as its not often we get good quality out-of-the-ordinary food in the Durham/Sunderland area.

Went down for the opening offer and tried the tofu bahn mi, Vietnamese iced coffee and iced lychee green tea. Food and drinks were both delicious and service was friendly. A cheap and different place to go for lunch, and a great alternative to all the typical high street cafes. I'd recommend!
