The chips were overcooked and tasted awful. Only managed to eat a couple before they had to go in the bin. Very disappointing.

Building was freezing (guy told me they get told off for it all the time but it was still too hot for him), there was only one fridge of produce so half the menu was missing, and the food we did get tasted terrible, my partner got one of the menu sandwiches and actually said “there’s no way subway can sell something that tastes like this”. I for sure, will never be back.

I was passing through Arbroath on Friday 3 January looking forward to having a smokie on the harbour. Sadly all the smokie outlets were closed so I went to get some fish and chips from Marcos. Last time used in 2021 and it was excellent. However - I was not happy this time. Batter on the fish was tasteless and no good - the fish was also not as good as normal. The chips looked like microwave chips. Cost was £8.90 which is ok but not for below par fare. What really annoyed me though was not being able to put on my own salt and vinegar. The handler was lifting the fish with his grubby finger so as to apply the salt. He refused to let me do it myself and gave no reason. Keep your fingers off the food FFS! Not going back ever. On the return leg on Monday I got a top class smokie!
