My experience here was excellent, from start to finish. I placed our booking last October and the service throughout was very friendly and attentive. The design I choose fitted perfectly with our traditional wedding setting and exactly what I had specified.The flavours were delicious and received numerous compliments from my family and friends.That coupled with delivery offered on the day made the whole thing hassle free which I really appreciated.

Firstly customer service has been fantastic both times ! First cake ordered Sept daughters birthday, cut into it total mush, could not eat (see pics) they were very apologetic and explained it's the fresh jam in the cake should only have been 1 layer there was two hence the mush, money refunded not a problem and a £50 voucher to use against another cake....so cake number 2 was delivered to our restraunt free of charge ( great service there, )but again still very very soggy sponge bottom, and quite hard sponge on top again when cutting turned into much (see pictures) so wouldn't use again,

The second birthday cake I have ordered from top tier and once again it's out of this world and everyone loved it. I really can't say enough how good it lolled, the photos don't do it justice and it tasted amazing. Top marks for Top Tier

I contacted the store to ask about a short notice cake for my mothers 60th birthday and found the chap on the phone very friendly and informative. He listen to what I was looking for and suggested a particular design from their website. The Chanel cake he suggested was perfect, exactly what I was after. With only 7 days notice they managed to make the cake I wanted and it was even better visually then I expected. The service and cake were excellent and all our guests were asking where I ordered from, which speaks volumes.

My wedding cake was perfect from Top tier. I had originally went into the shop having previous ordered from them. At the time, I was'nt exactly sure what I was looking. After speaking to a member of staff about my requirements, a custom cake was drawn out on the computer for me. As soon as I seen the finished example I knew this was my cake design. I selected my vanilla flavour and colour scheme. that was it, it was a very simple process. On my wedding day the cake was delivered to my venue and it looked wonderful in the reception room. Everything was colour coordinated and my guests were very impressed with how it tasted. The highest praise came from my grandmother, who is especially critical when it comes to food. Thank you for all your assistance and the quality customer service throughout.

I ordered a Chelsea football cake for my son who was going to be 8.  I discussed my requirements for the cake with a gentlemen in the shop and he drew me a sketch of the cake. At this time I requested that the board of the cake be covered in green icing, the cake to be covered in blue icing, I did not wish a scarf on the cake  and the ball on the top of the cake would be an actual round proper ball.  As far as I was aware the cake was ordered to this specification. I was due to pick up the cake on Friday 7th July.  When I arrived at the shop with my husband the lady behind the counter presented me with it and my instant reaction was disappointment as the cake was not what I had requested. The cake board was covered in white icing with green sugar sprinkled on it, the cake was covered in white icing with a cheap blue paper ribbon wrapped round ,the best way to describe the ball on the top of the cake was a football lollipop which  was flat not round and there was a blue scarf on the cake. I expressed my dissatisfaction to the lady and said the cake was not as I had ordered and I did not wish to pay the outstanding balance. I was informed that I was unable to take the cake out of the shop unless I paid the remaining balance. As it was now around 3.15pm and the party was the following day at 1pm I felt I had no choice to pay for the cake as I would be unable to source a suitable replacement at this late stage.  I asked that someone from the shop contact me to discuss the mistakes that had been made. I still haven't heard from anyone. I took the cake home and put in in the spare bedroom, pulled the curtains so the room would remain cool and did not look at the cake until the following morning. When I went in to collect the cake to take to the party venue at 10.30am the following morning the football lollipop had fallen backwards and made a large hole in the middle of the cake, it had ripped through the scarf which had been wrapped round it and broke it. I had then to run to Asda to purchase various items to try and repair the cake including icing, bags, nozzles and a half Football cake which would be used to cover up the hole.  This cost be an additional £16.50.  I did the best I could but I am not a cake decorator.  I removed the lollipop, broken scarf and the cheap paper curls that were attached to the back of the cake On removing the curls I think they must have been used to cover the multiple perforation holes that that been made when the wire rods were poked into the cake but then moved. I felt that the cake had been poorly constructed and this lead to stress and upset that I should not have had to deal with. I returned to the shop on Monday where I expressed my dissatisfaction and asked for a full refund I was told that that there was nothing she could do as the manager was on holiday and would not return till the following Monday. I explained that I was going on holiday and would be out of the country for 2 weeks and I would like to sort this issue out now. The lady told me "That it was not her fault that I would be unavailable and I would need to come back". I also asked to see a copy of the order that had been placed and was refused, she told me that "she had seen the order and I got what I ordered". She then asked me why I had not brought back the broken cake and I advised her that I did not have time to return the cake. She then said, “Well you had time to go to Asda to buy another cake maybe you should have bought a bigger cake and brought back the broken one”.  I asked her to speak to another manager or someone in charge and was told that she was in charge.  She made no attempt to assist or resolve the issue and found her attitude very rude.When asked for her name she shouted at me " My name is my name".  At this point she told me "to leave the shop or she would call the police" . I now know her name to be Helen. I then called the other shop and spoke to John the Bakery Manager, he was at least prepared to listen to me. However, I found it very intimidating when he advised me that my conversation in the other shop would have been recorded and asked if I wished to continue with the complaint. He was still unable to resolve my issues. John told me that this was a popular cake which I feel has contributed to the mistakes in my cake as I do not feel that my request for colour and shape has been taken into consideration. I have made several trips to the shop to try and resolve the issues and have been unable to. I was finally offered a voucher for another cake or some cup cakes. I will never purchase another cake from this shop. On my last visit to the shop the manager fully supported Helen which seems to be more important to him rather than disappointing an 8 year old boy. I have been offered £15 as "A good will gesture" which I have declined. Trading standards has been advised of the the issues that I have had and they have advised me that this information will be used in future complains against this business. I do hope that you don't use this shop but if you like me have ordered a cake in good faith and do not get what you hope please inform Trading Standards as they are aware of this company. I fully expected this company to deny that they have done anything wrong

We had an absolute ball at the party, with the cake being the centrepiece. The party theme was New York The big apple and the cake was perfect for the event. All manner of New York cake decorations included (even a NY Taxi!) but the Statue of Liberty sugar model at the top was the best part, it was fabulous. So much so people were asking to take it home. Eye catching, fun, a great talking point and most of all the sponge cake was delicious. The shop service was excellent and with a hassle free delivery service. All in all a great experience and my family will be coming back for future parties.

We were very happy with the service we received throughout. The shop staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about what they do. Our cake was one selected from their wedding range and we selected the flavours we wanted after tasting the complimentary samples. The vanilla sponge received a lot of comments from our guests and my grandparents were rather taken with the fruit cake (which isn't really my thing). We had the cake delivered to our venue which was great and stress free. Hopefully, I wont be requiring another wedding cake for myself, but I will definitely be returning for other occasions that require a cake.

My Chanel birthday cake I ordered arrived yesterday and I am very pleased with it. The entire process of dealing with their assistant via telephone to having it delivered was simple and faultless. The cake looked great and tasted the same. My guests and I were very impressed and I am sure it will lead to further requests. My compliments to the cake designers for making my 50th birthday a joy.

My most recent order was my daughters graduation cake. First class job and it tasted great. Friendly staff and excellent service. It is worth a visit just to see the cakes in the window.

I ordered my daughters Holy Communion cake from Top tier cakes and it was absolutely perfect exactly what I asked for. The shop staff are very friendly and were good on the phone when i ordered. I sent a picture of what I was looking for and they made it with my little changes added in. All the guests commented how wonderful it looked. The flavour was vanilla and chocolate and everyone who got a piece said it was the best cake they had tasted in years. I cant recommend these guys highly enough. Thank you for making my baby girls day even more glittery and special.

An amazing cake shop. Our wedding cake was just what we wanted and our guests loved it. We had 3 different flavours: the vanilla, a chocolate layer and a red velvet. All topped off with summer fruits including strawberries and raspberries! Its difficult to describe how good each tasted, my personal favourite was the vanilla buttercream. The pictures we have don't do it justice. The service offered by Top Tier was excellent. Thank you for making our day a little more memorable. A 5 star service.

The cake we ordered was just stunning, I have attached pictures to illustrate this. For our relative we decided to get an Elvis cake, since that is his all time favourite singer. What we got was just perfect for him. We served the cake as part of the dessert and all our guests said it was definitely the best they had tasted. I will be back to order for my partners birthday soon, however I might not need one as big this time! Thank you and I recommend.

My family has been purchasing cakes from this cake shop for over 20 years, but I found out yesterday that someone new bought it over in 2013. They have completely destroyed the good name and cakes. I bought a cake for my nieces birthday party in April 2016, as soon as I cut into it it was the wrong filling. The fillings were for a specific type of diet. The manager then said I can get a discount on my next cake. Fast forward another year I go back for another cake for my niece birthday party again. The sponge was very very dry, the raspberry jam had the most artificial and sweetest flavour. I requested buttercream but this anything but buttercream, it was like a marshmallow foam. NEVER will I be back in this shop, and I will make sure I let other people know what a sham this place now is.
