Cubanos in Newcastle upon Tyne

Had the beef burrito with jalopeno cream cheese sauce. Fantastic! 10/10. Was worried the cheese sauce was going to overpower everything but the taste was just right. Highly recommend

Unbelievable fresh authentic food

Been slow to try these guys, popped along today and had the beef burrito, super fast and friendly service and the burrito was easily best in Newcastle, will 100% be back to try the rest of the menu. 👍

The food was outstanding- so tasty. I had the chicken rice bowl which was presented beautifully so colourful and quality fresh ingredients. Others in my group had the sandwiches. The service was very friendly and efficient. The staff looked relaxed and happy despite it being the lunchtime rush. Would absolutely recommend this place for lunch. We were only visiting Newcastle but hope to return and will be heading straingjt here for lunch again.

Tried for lunch today after wanting to try for ages and it was amazing! I got the beef rice bowl and it was decent. The beef melted in the mouth with a slight saltiness. Next time I’m going to ask for extra guacamole as it was one of the best I’ve tried. Was hot and quick. 100% recommend!!

Get the beef sandwich and thank me later - 10/10 can't fault it. Perfect bite to eat.

After eating here for three days straight, I can safely say I'm obsessed ❤️ my new favourite place in the Grainger Market, super speedy service by the lovely team and the food is delicious. Can't recommend it enough.

I got a delivery from uber eats and although issues with uber caused it to take over an hour to arrive (not the restaurants fault), even when it came it was still great. Even with a missing item due to it not being available they replaced it with another item, would definitely recommend. 10/10

Excellent food. Went for the Cubanos sandwich and partner had the Mojo chicken rice bowl. Plenty of filling, excellent flavours and super accommodating for dietary preferences/requirements, nice to not worry about gluten free options. Friendly and quick service and excellent, tasty food. Recommend.

Gem of a place in the Grainger Market. We got rice bowls each one beef and one chicken both with mild chilli sauce. Very tasty and we’d go hotter next time. We managed to get a table which are limited on a busy Saturday lunchtime. Service was quick and friendly and we’d definitely go back and try more off the menu.

Can confidently say that Cubanos burrito is actually better than Zapatista, and I highly rated them. Really good flavours. Just be prepared for a wait.

Went here for the first time today and got a sandwich, it was delicious 🤤 will definitely be back.

I’ve never had an empanada before, but if this is what they are I’ll be eating many more! I was recommended the chorizo empanada and it was served warm and was so so delicious. Will defo be coming for one of these rather than a Greggs in the future.

Really helpful staff worked something out for me round my food allergies even near closing time.

Had the slow-cooked Beef Burrito with the hottest sauce and it was honestly one of, if not the best Burrito I’ve ever had. 10/10 from me!

Just want to start out by saying if your going to be charging £7.50 for a sandwich on its own it best be a great god damn sandwich. What I received was a good sandwich, delicious even but upon reflection I think it was carried by delicious condiments. The people here were super kind and service was good just I feel if I hadn't of ordered the 2 dips I did (bringing the total to £10.50 with water) it would of been disappointing. I think I'll try a burrito if I ever return. I highly recommend the peach hot sauce and the jalapeno cream cheese dip.in fact I'd probably return just to buy those.

Great food here. Definitely give it a try if you are passing and can wait more than twenty minutes (not ideal if you're trying to grab something in your lunch break - won't be back).

Went for the Cubanos sandwich. Juicy meat and fresh fillings. Was ready quickly so it’s good for a lightish lunch. I think I would add the hot sauce as an extra next time. £7.50 on its own.

Stopped for lunch and had the cubanos and the cha cha cha. Sandwiches were freshly cooked and tasted amazing. Great flavour and good size - would highly recommend!

Great little Cuban street food kitchen in the corner of the Grainger Market. I had the Medianoche, slow cooked beef with cheese, pickled red onions, chargrilled peppers with feta crème sauce. Would definitely recommend trying, and if you like things a little bit hotter remember to ask for extra jalapeños

2.5 Stars Ordered the beef burrito with the hottest sauce - I found the burrito very bland, not much flavour from all of the components and the sauce was less than warm so for it to be their hottest sauce was very disappointing. Quite expensive for what you get and the quality of it so I was pretty gutted with the experience. I will try Cubanos again to see if it was just a bad day or if it is true to my first impression. I will also try something else from the menu to try be as fair as possible.

Yummy food! Had a rice box and it was a good amount and good quality for the price. Great flavours and variety of items. Quick service even though it was busy- sat on a bench a bit down the corridor- maybe more suited for takeaway. Friend had a sandwich and loved it! Great flavours and sauces. Will have to return to try the rest!

The wait was quite long with few spaces to sit, but the taste was really good Only problem is its not spicy enough

I had a "Cuban style" pork burrito. It was not as heavy as a Mexican burrito despite also having rice and beans. The pork was tender and tasty. "Hot" sauce I would rate as Medium. Will definitely be back to try a more classic Cuban sandwich.

I tried the Cubanos pulled pork sandwich at Heaton festival and it was delicious! Slow cooked pork with a tinge of chipotle sauce. I’ll be checking this out for lunch in Grainger market!
