Fab little neighbourhood pub with a great, very well priced pint(£3.10), not to be missed! And a quiz night on a Sunday night, apparently, which looked quite good, but I couldn't stay, unfortunately. Very handy for canal boats as well! Highly recommended!

Beautiful old world pub from the 1700 has been tastefully decorated . The local s where very knowledgeable regarding the ales thanks for the experience .

I have never had food there but l have had a few pints of San Miguel and loved the music and the company of patrons.

We popped in here after taking a boat up the Wigan Flight. A long and strenuous day! The food was great, generous portions and cheap! Drinks also really great value! Service is great too. Little quiet, but we arrived fairly early, so to be expected. Lock keeper highly recommended the karaoke 🎤 Honestly, the perfect pub to visit after heading up the Wigan Flight

I came here with a friend and was more than disappointed! They advertise that they serve proper meals and when I asked, all they had were pasties which were cold to the touch. I also ordered a pint of Pepsi which was nice however I only had my card on me and there is a minimum charge, meaning that I had to buy more things which I didn’t even want. The staff here were also quite abrupt and not exactly friendly. The interior of the pub also looks as if it hasn’t been redone since the 1960s.

Great family business and atmosphere

Always full of locals very good atmosphere. Lots of games and sometimes bingo and music.

We popped in for a few bevvies after a tough day, and even though the pub were full (as always) it always somehow has a fantastic atmosphere, with friendly staff. I'd definitely recommend coming here after a tough day of it!

Good old pub .food was a bit poor

Popped in needed lunch, pleasant staff...food available well presented reasonable cost,wish I'd have had more time to sit outside....would go again

Tried it for the first time in a long while if I could give it no stars I would very easily. Staff are fine but the quality of my drink I would expect for free definitely won't be visiting again.

Really enjoyed a lovely old fashioned Sunday dinner here. Not like the over rated plastic food you get a the carvery pubs. It was delicious, seemed so friendly lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be back

Atmosphere is great, but..we got in for 2030hrs, and by 2215, I still hadn't sang a song..very frustrating.

There are very few pubs which still feel like...well a pub! In the age of bars, gin boudoirs and trendy traditional ale houses; this is just a pub! And so it should be. All ages all sharing the same love of atmosphere from live acts, sport and the screen and good old fashioned conversation. It's right up my street, and it might be for you; but stay away if your entitled ego is expecting glitz glam and awesome tiktok settings...this a pub. Serves booze, and crisps and conversation

Karaoke night there on a Saturday night, really entertaining. Some fab singers. . Lovely people too. Only downside, they don't stock fresh orange or regular tonic water But the few times we've been, had a great time.

Nice place, never actually been here but did last week during the week (wake), decent size beer garden, has a pool table and staff are very friendly & a very loveable dog. Oh and also ample room for parking. Keep it up, great place.

Good beer, and a fair selection of pub grub. I had the lasagne and chips which was good (not amazing, but perfect for filling me up after a hard day's work.)

Friendly staff, excellent food & met good people on every visit.

A bit grim and didn't look as if it had been thoroughly cleaned for months. Main customers seemed to be family members with kids running round. Also playing some (loud) obscure music.

Not been for two years,would highly recommend this pub now staff nice and friendly food nice and fresh not too expensive, will try it again

Good beer reasonably priced nice pub grub and the landlady and landlord can't do enough for you.

My advice would be to keep walking past! Comedy it was. Young girl & owd fella looking after the pub because manager on hols/away. Orders 2 meals beef barm, chips & salad x2, 1 no chips or salad. Took an age 2 come then only 1 beef barm turned up. Girl said the owd fella had only told her 1 beef barm. Other meal took an age in total must of took 1hr 40 for food & 2 drinks each. Ordered drinks 1 glass had lip stick on it, fella changed it. It then smelt of smoke due to the fella smoking in the beer garden before repouring. Toilets had bleach & cleaning fluids all out on side. £20 not well spent on canal walk. No apology in sight! Won’t be back again!

Looking for some local food on a last minute child free afternoon and saw the sign outside this place I've driven past for years but never actually been in. We ordered a Sunday roast and had a choice of meats and it was delicious! Proper home cooked food in a pleasant family friendly (at 3pm) atmosphere. Really reminded me of the Sundays I spent in my mum and step dad's local growing up. Definitely be coming back. Great food. Fab price and great atmosphere. Highly recommended.
