Popped in to eat while in town for work, food was perfect, the staff were fun and helpful, especially Charlotte and Loo. Many thanks, if we are this way again we will definitely return.

I just had to leave a glowing review after such a lovely visit to my local pub! I popped in for some food and drinks and was honestly blown away—not just by the delicious curry (which hit all the right spots!) or the perfectly poured drinks (exactly what I expected and then some), but by the exceptional service from start to finish. From the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted with the warmest welcome from Charlotte and Beth—two absolute stars who truly made the evening special. Their energy, attentiveness, and genuine friendliness turned a simple pub visit into something memorable. They worked together so effortlessly, creating such a relaxed and happy atmosphere. Whether it was checking in on how the food was, keeping drinks topped up, or just having a friendly chat, nothing ever felt too much trouble. You could really feel they cared—and that kind of service is rare and so appreciated. Charlotte and Beth are an absolute credit to the pub. It’s not just about good food and drinks—it’s the people that make a place feel special, and this team absolutely nailed it. Can’t wait to return. Thank you for such a lovely evening 💛

Staff great. Tables dirty. Food has seriously gone down hill in all hungry horse pubs but I was actually unimpressed by the whole meal. It was small and you could taste the cheapness. Staff were great though so not all bad

I’m local to the pub and walk my dog Lottie most days . She pulls me into the pub cause the staff mostly give her a treat, she loves it. Such kind and friendly staff. Good food good drinks friendly atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

Some Food served cold. Some food served raw. Staff pleasant but kitchen overloaded. Booked table for 12 for a birthday, but the wait staff can't cope with taking and serving a big order. The staff said they would bring out birthday cake at 7 but they didn't because it was too busy. How good your dish is seems to be luck. The lamb kofta is very good though even if it was cold with raw sweet potato fries.

This is now my favourite place to drink or eat. The new manager is wonderful. He’s always happy and makes me smile. It’s has a wonderful atmosphere I love it.

I came in with my two young daughters for dinner and I was struggling a little with my youngest. Terry was incredibly kind and went out of his way to help me so I could order more easily and get them sorted while on my own. The food was quickly served and was lovely as always. The staff are always so welcoming and considerate. We love coming to The Crown when we are in the area.

I’ve come here many times but yesterday was my worst time yet! My daughter’s nuggets came and they were more or less cremated! I then received my food and again it was very burnt and minimal for a ‘ big special’ so I sent this back also to then ask for the gravy burger which had the tiniest drop of gravy in… nothing like the description. In the end I just agreed everything was ok because the blond manager didn’t seem like she gave a crap… she made it seem like I was more of an inconvenience for sending my food back!!

Pretty good place to come and eat with family. If you're not into sport, I would suggest avoiding when matches are on, but prices are reasonable, food and drinks selection is good and there's plenty of parking. The automated booking system on the phone was pretty easy as well.

Sian was an excellent waitress at the Claydon Crown. She was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, making sure our dining experience was smooth and enjoyable. Her service was both professional and warm, and she went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend this pub for anyone visiting!

I visited quite regularly and always have good service . Today I've been served by Sian , she was very polite and happy to help. Its mix up tuesday so I had the southern fried chicken skewers , coleslaw and chips , my partner had the half roast chicken . Great value . Thank you see you again soon

As always, a very friendly welcome, It was really busy, Sian kept us informed how long it would be for our meals. We all felt Sian's service was excellent. The food was really good and great value for money.

Had the all day breakfast- terrible! Refried mushrooms and sausage- service was okay- pretty loud with noisy kids- their breakfast used to be really nice but not this time- will have to go somewhere else in future

Staff were great, food was poor quality and certainly not value for money, wife had the Steak and Ale pie, pastry was so hard I had to help her break it...was impossible to eat. I had the Curry which was ok, also ordered the Samosa & Onion Bhaji. Samosa was again rock hard, no filling. Onion Bhaji was missing the onions. More like a stuffing mix than a Onion Bhaji. Very.poor food experience here, seems popular though. BUT I will not be eating there again, plenty of better places to eat.....

We enjoyed our visit staff friendly but sadly not many of them ones they had worked hard friendly did very best . I felt I wanted to clear my own table to help them !! Nice friendly place my meal was nice would go again and recommend but book they get very busy and hope staff levels get supported I felt for them all but they kept smiling worked very hard did very best .

First visit since the refurbishment, the décor is great and the furnishings are first class too. Had gammon steak with the trimmings and scampi and chips for my wife. The portion sizes are good and the food was of a high level. Would highly recommend the crown to anyone.

2nd time in 3 weeks, table of 5 week 1, table of 3 week 2, full Monty mixed grill faultless both times, sea bass was to die for, highly recommended thanks again Terry and team

I have visited The Crown quite a lot of times and the food is always amazing and the staff are lovely. We had a meal there tonight and the lady that served us (Marie) was fantastic. Extremely helpful and friendly. We couldn't speak any higher of her. I would recommend The Crown to anyone

I had a wonderful experience at The Crown in Claydon. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm welcome from the incredibly friendly staff, particularly Terry, the owner, who made us feel right at home. His hospitality really added to the pub’s welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. One of the great things about The Crown is that it’s dog-friendly, which is always a huge plus. It’s nice to find a place where you can enjoy a meal without having to leave your four-legged friend behind. The food was excellent—not only did it arrive promptly, but the portion sizes were generous, and the prices were very reasonable. It’s clear that they take pride in both quality and service, making it a great spot for a casual meal or a drink with friends. Overall, The Crown is a proper village pub with great service, a friendly vibe, and good value for money. I’ll definitely be returning soon!

Went here valentines day in afternoon with little granddaughter picked up cutlery and there no serviette. Asked staff and they said we have not got any.😔

Terry was bloomin fantastic all round from his hospitality to ensuring not only myself and my pal was comfortable but I noticed he was bouncing round from customer to customer to make sure everyone was satisfied.

It is with great disappointment I have come here to write this, If I could give a zero star I would. Tried to eat here for my birthday in December but the fish fryer was not working so we had to go elsewhere. These things happen. Unfortunately for me I have food intolerance and this is the only item on the menu that I like that doesn't cause me issues. Decided to take my sister here on the 7th of February she chose what she wanted and I went up to the bar after waiting to be served, I asked for fish and chips. The lady said no Fish the Fish fryer isn't working. 😕 We decided we would leave. On the way out I spoke to another member of staff and explained the situation and asked if the fryer had been broken since December and he said yes. I asked if there was any chance of the fryer being fixed soon he basically shrugged. I have a group of approximately 12 that would like me to join them for a meal in March they said they would go to the Claydon Crown as they know about my issues with eating out. I've had to tell them no as the fish fryer has been broken for over 2 months. They will be eating somewhere else. It's a real shame cause my family and I would come here a few times a year for a meal for birthdays and it was always enjoyable .

Love the bar staff here, can't do enough to help. Marie and Sian really helpful and friendly. They make you feel so welcome. Terry is a great landlord, always pleasant and happy and always goes the extra mile.

You get what you pay for. Mini mixed grill wasn't up to much and the IPA wasn't much better. I wanted to take my beer back but it was about 10 deep to the bar

Ordered salt and pepper chicken with katsu curry sauce Chicken was lovely, but has never seen salt and pepper spice, didn't taste of anything but chicken...had enough curry sauce to fill an egg cup...bit disappointing to say the least

A last-minute booking to meet up with Family...the place was amazing...when we arrived our reserved seats were available but when we sat down it wasn't really convenient so the landlord repositioned everything so that everyone had a good seat everybody could see each other it was a great meal great atmosphere we will be back as soon as we can thanks to the dtaff at the Crown much appreciated the hard work they put in keep up the good work great place
