Had a lovely meal, very friendly staff, especially the waitress who was swept off her feet but remained friendly, positive, professional and overall brilliant.

Our server Rose was very friendly and always interacted with my children which made their evening as both my girls love to chat! Small issue with a missing food item but was quickly and easily resolved.

Regular at this venue and for a good reason. The food is always lovely, arrives on time and portions are good value for money. Sian served us today and has on many occasions, always does so with a smile and never seems put out at any request made. This service, as with all the staff, is what keeps us coming back. This is a great venue for the family to enjoy a great meal at a great price.

I can honestly say I have been coming to the crown for years but the service and food was excellent. Terry was absolutely superb.

Visited recently with our grandchildren and was served by Terry who was very polite and helpful with our orders, food came quickly and was nice..all the staff on duty were very helpful ..

This is always one of our choices of pubs when looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful. When booking our table we asked for space for our pushchair which was accommodated. When the food was brought out, I realised I’d ordered the wrong skewers for my meal and the waitress swapped them which was really appreciated. We went on a Thursday night so my husband made the most of the deal which was a super plate and a starter of dessert for a £1. Food was all cooked well and enjoyed. We also noticed how friendly one of waitresses was with the children in our section. She chatted to our baby and to another table with children too.

Ordered 2 mixed grills both not good not an even amount of chips on each plate, also suasges had been microwaved, when complained they went to get some fresh and preceeded to bring me out some more freshly microwaved ones which were just as hard and as they came out it looked like i would have to reach into my pocket for poop bags!! . Also Ordered 2 pints of a guest ale which they don't do!!! When asked for a refund on drinks was told they couldn't because I paid by PayPal, not heard that one before. After we offered free deserts but we thought we'd give that a miss. We were then told that they would give us a full refund and had managed to work out how to refund PayPal 🙄 🤔. Still waiting for refund. It has been over 3 weeks now and still no refund one word disgraceful

Friendly pub selling traditional pub grub at a good price. Good quality well kept real ales.

We ordered two Sunday lunches of Turkey and a beef , firstly no Yorkshire puddings , a spoon full of mash potatoes , and worst of all the so called roast potatoes were a joke they were hard and definitely not roasted , I should have complained but didn’t want to make a fuss , it was the first time after seeing your Facebook advert which shows a delicious roast but ours didn’t look like that , it seems that your chef had an of day , A very disappointed customer ,6/10/24

Absolutely amazing can't fault the service by Terry such a lovely man. He recommended the £6 specials and was amazing with my children and stopped them crying by giving them a little teddy each. Will definitely be returning.

Our local pub. Very family friendly and we often take our daughter there. We stick to burgers and grills, as these are our favorites and always good. The kids meal plans are great value and include a drink and pudding. I managed to forget a scoop of ice cream for my daughter and was immediately told off. Staff sorted this and didn't ask for the extra 99 pence. Very helpful and easy.

Amazing meal with my friend. The steak was cooked perfectly, compliments to the chef. I recommend the sizzling, smothered steak. Also prompt service even though the pub was packed.

We were served by Marie at the bar who was lovely and bubbly. She was nice and chatty with us and catered to our needs!

Meal was poor, steak really grisly, vegetable lasagne was swimming in a thin watery sauce, garlic bread was still frozen on the bottom, when a young girl asked if our meal was OK we did tell her it was poor, she was pleasant & professional and changed the garlic bread but it was still frozen underneath. Nice place and loads of potential for when they get a proper chef/cook.

A couple of disappointments - size of Garlic Bread considerably smaller than before and certianly not worth the money, Also, my AA discount not accepted criteria changed.

Always head to this place with the family after a morning out, Ben managed to get us a table of 9 in last minute without a fuss. All staff had a smile and nothing was any trouble. Great food as always.

The food was not great I'm afraid. I had ordered the ring of burgers as I've had it before at a different Hungry Horse and really enjoyed it but here it was dry and very overcooked, and the chips were reheated and stale. I didn't complain about it as we had already waited 40 minutes for 3 meals and we didn't have time to wait for fresh food. My son's vegan bolognese was very watery and was missing the veggie sticks, I had to ask for them and when they did bring them, the veg sticks were very dry/stale. Also, my husband had ordered the full Monty mixed grill and halfway through eating it he realised the steak was not on the plate.. again we didn't mention it as we didn't realise straight away but we were pretty disappointed with the food. We hadn't been here for some time and were looking forward to the meal here, so this was a bit of a letdown. My drinks were delicious though, I had the cocktail deal (2 for £8) Vitamin Sea. The atmosphere was good, not busy either which was perfect. The staff were friendly.

It's fine for a quick stop, the staff are not overly friendly and didn't seem like they wanted to stop their chat with their friends to serve anyone else, the drinks were what you would expect with a limited range and the food was passable but it's cheap so you can't expect a huge amount, just would have been nice fore the staff to acknowledge people waiting when leaning over the bar chatting

Visited on Tuesday night, served by Sian, she recommended the mix it up which was on the deal, I had the southern fried skewers which was lovely! Cannot fault the service or the team, great service, we’ll done :)

Very accommodating and friendly staff, brilliant food (the new menu has some real delights) and the service was incredibly quick for a Saturday.

Food was cooked and hot. Place was full flys, not a fan in sight or an insect killer. Will not visit again. Came in with some American guests who thought the place was dirty and rubbish. Said place would be shut if in the states.

A great evening out, the food was lovely and our waitress Marie was just great. She was very polite and came back to insure everything was good during our meal. Definitely a credit to the pub. Definitely be back in to see her on a thursday evening.

Went for a birthday meal with 6 ov us , the pepper corn sauce cost 1.50 for about a table spoon, steak was as tough as old boots, chicken under cooked. Don't bother is my advice

You need to up your game guys !! Booked a table almost a week in advance for a table of 7. Glad we did as the place was almost full. Only to find that the table we had reserved was then taken by another customer. The waitress found us a trestle table in the bar area but luckily this was not full. The table was not cleaned so we had it cleaned and also a large puddle of liquid laid underneath. After having this we were informed that they could give some complimentary desserts. Very acceptable. However we were booked to eat and then had to find our own menus and condiments. Great !! Food was ordered with no issue and after just about an acceptable time they were delivered. We all took advantage of the two for one burger deal and if this wasn’t two for one the next complaint would have arrived. The burgers were overdone and dry. Desserts went well and were given free as agreed. We paid for the meal and then left. Quite glad to vacate to be honest. Maybe just an off night but when you book a table I expect it to be available and ready. Don’t think I will be returning unless this has a change of management. As a note the waitress was very polite and did have a smile. No issue with this member of staff

Not sure where to start. Got the feeling that this is not a happy place to work at. Staff not too friendly and could do with more help in bar area. Had tandoori chicken sizzler which wasn't sizzling which it should be. Not a big portion but taste was okay. Also a green king pub with no abbot ale on tap. Cheap place to eat but maybe give more choice on portion sizes and charge accordingly wouldn't recommend if you're really hungry maybe this was just an off day but somehow I think not and they still seemed to be busy but as I said it is cheaper and you get what you pay for. Don't have high standard expectations and you'll be okay. Will maybe try again sometime to see if there is any improvement.

We have been going to the Crown for years but it's taken us a while to review. The food and service is always great. We are at the Crown for my mother's 70th birthday and again had another great visit. Thanks to all the staff and waitress for being awesome! 👍🏼

Lovely food, myself & partner had the chicken New Yorker which was yummy, a lovely atmosphere & the staff are friendly. We will be sure to pop in when we’re back in the area

At one of the Hungry Horse pubs, I asked for a large Coke. However, the size of the large Coke wasn't stated, so I inquired about it. They informed me that a large Coke is a pint. Consequently, I requested a pint glass, but it was only filled three-quarters of the way up. The server explained that the gap was meant for ice. So, because I don't want ice, I get less for my money. At £3.25, all those quarter pints soon add up in savings. The question is, is this false advertising?

Never had any real issues here, it's nothing 5 star but it's cheap and cheerful and the service is good, but now they have stopped serving breakfast on weekdays we won't be going anymore unfortunately! A real shame!

Having driven to the outskirts of Ipswich from Surrey to meet a friend we decided to try and eat at the Crown. On arrival I drove into the carpark and noticed broken glass in some areas of the carpark which to me indicated possible thefts of windows being broken! We parked up and went inside the Pub hoping to eat. Sadly we were told there was at least a 1/2 HR wait for food,so we decided to go elsewhere, but on leaving the pub we overheard other customers saying they had been waiting over an hour! I believe there was a chief issue?

waited well over hr . wasn’t told this when ordered . food turned up the burger roll was rock hard . the burger over cooked ! safe to say two very bad meals we have had here in last 6 months and will no longer go again .

Obviously visited on the worst possible day. Apparently the chef was on sick leave. Seated inside near the bar next to a massive tv and is pretty noisy in there. Not my goto place but we visited for convenience which wasn’t so convenient. Ordered by their app which seemed to be a big mistake. Ordered 2 meals with drinks. After waiting 30 mins I heard another customer complain about waiting 1 hour for their food. At 45 mins I asked a waitress the expected readiness of our order and she said she would check. She walked past and ignored us and then spoke to someone else about their complaint. I asked her again and at this point I advised her that I would like to cancel my order and a full refund if our order wasn’t ready within 10 mins as we were late for an appointment. Another chap came out and advised that we would have our order within 10 mins and if not we will get a full refund. My food was ok although my son’s was not great. The Manager of the restaurant hid in the back and left his young staff to deal with multiple unhappy customers. I will not be revisiting this establishment in my lifetime even if it was the only place on earth. McDonalds would be a cheaper and quicker option. FOR ANY POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS, DO NOT ORDER BY THE APP UNLESS YOU KNOW THE WAITING TIME EVERY DAY IS A SCHOOL DAY

Typical Hungry Horse. Fantastic value for money with food which more than justifies the price and cost that you spend. good selection of drinks and lots of parking too which is always helpful.

Fantastic Experience at The Crown I recently dined at The crown and was thoroughly impressed. The staff were welcoming, and the ambiance was perfect. I highly recommend The Crown for its excellent service and outstanding food.

Called in on our journey home from Essex to Norfolk for an early evening meal. All tables were reserved on the front dining area but we found one in the bar area with high stools. Service was quick and food was good so overall a pleasant experience.

Really helpful staff and good atmosphere! Lots of screens for the football. Marie had a huge smile on her face!😌

Use The Crown fairly regular, never had any issues or concerns. Food is good, and staff polite.

Food was burnt, luxury hot chocolate had no cream or marshmallows, the big kids meal was smaller than the little kids meals, chips had a funny taste

One of hungry horses' smaller venues so can be difficult to get a table at popular times. Food is standard pub fayre at reasonable prices, although the specials they run some nights are good value. Service is good if you don't mind going to the bar to order. They have live music and quiz nights occasionally.

Best steak and ale pie I've ever had. It was massive. Staff are just so friendly. Marie, I think it was her name, made us feel so 6 took lovely care of us all night.

As we entered it looked like it’d been busy as lots of tables had plates and glasses on but staff said not really , we found a table , had a used napkin at the end of it which wasn’t moved the whole time we were there . Menus were sticky, my wife had ribeye steak med rare which was very chewy, I had the lasagne which was ok. Went to order dessert at bar and had to wait 10 minutes as the lady behind bar was busy chatting with her mate and boyfriend in front of me . I’ve worked in hospitality for many years and hate to give negative reviews but this place was very disappointing

Took the family to the Claydon Crown Hungry horse. The food was good, large portions and tasty. The amazing thing is how they deliver that for the price they charge. Will definitely revisit. Parking was plentiful and, for a Monday night, it was well worth booking. Being able to double up on Tesco vouchers made it incredibly good value. Do not expect an A la Carte menu as it is not, do not expect a romantic cosy atmosphere as yet again it is not. Do expect large portions, low prices and service with a smile.

Great food and service, highly recommend. I come here almost weekly with my family and have not had a bad experience yet. The staff are very friendly and ensure you know what deals are on to make things more affordable for a family.
