The staff was excellent and whilst it was very busy we had a lovely meal. The atmosphere was really good, food great and the staff very helpful and obliging. We will return. We did return on a number of occasions and have always been treated well by the staff. A great place to go whether just for an evening out or a special occasion. Very happy with our visits. I love this pub/restaurant and visit with my husband at least every other week, sometimes more when family visits. I have booked for my upcoming birthday and with my family on Xmas day. I know we will have great food and a welcoming Christmas Day...... Brilliant Xmas spirit. Great staff, great food, thoroughly enjoyable. atmosphere. Love it.

Came for Christmas dinner, staff were lovely and polite. All cheerful :) All worked very hard. I had the lamb shank which was beautiful, the best one I’ve had. My family had the turkey which they said was also lovely. Only 4 stars given due to the positioning of the table. I know it might seem silly! But we were on a small table smack bang in the middle of the room, I understand it’s a busy day however throughout the meal there were constantly people queuing for the bar surrounding our table, as in if you wanted to pull your chair out you would have to fight for room. It felt a bit like we were in a fish tank. People and staff squeezing by constantly knocking into the chairs. It just seemed like the table had been abandoned in a random place in the room! :( Overall though, disregarding that we all had such a lovely time. The food arrived piping hot, everything was cooked to perfection. Timings were great too, we weren’t waiting long between courses but also didn’t feel rushed either. I had the tomato and mozzarella starter which was amazing, I would return just for that!! Thank you so much, for taking time out of your Christmas Day so that we didn’t have to cook or wash up!! <3 :-)

It was my husband 60th birthday and they were very friendly and helpful when I booked the meal for 15 people, they set the tables very well that we were all sat together and they helped us with ordering the food and drinks our grandson is autistic and fussy with some food and they made sure he had what he wantedand the service and food were excellent and the same for when it was time for deserts. Very very pleased with the crown Llay

Food & service was excellent, food was cooked perfectly and looked good, with great portions. My family left full and happy, plus no washing up for me 😁

Myself and my friend visited for lunch before we went to work yesterday on arrival we were greeted by a lovely friendly gentleman who showed us to a table in the quieter part of the pub. The pub itself was absolutely pristine condition very clean and tidy with menus displayed clearly, we both ordered via the app that was pointed out to us by the manager our drinks came instantly nice and cold in clean glasses. Cutlery and condiments were already on the table we didn't want for anything. Our food came out quickly and was hot and fresh and very tasty we both had the fish and chips and really enjoyed with both garden and mushy peas. Whilst in the pub I visited the ladies which was clean and impeccable. We witnessed the staff interacting with guests in a friendly respectful manner throughout assisting infirm guests when required and assisted with enquiries whilst maintaining a smooth flow of people. Highly recommend a lovely place to eat and socialise

Technically my local, so had food and drink here many times. Ample parking, large outdoor eating area and beer garden, and indoors pub is clean and well maintained. Staff and manager very good. Food is.. ok, in fairness staff are always quick to sort if there's been issues. My only complaint is at Marston's, who have inflated the prices across the menu, meaning that even though this is 2 for 1 on mains if you're lucky enough to have an even number in your party (if not, the offer of a far cheaper dessert instead is a little insulting). Marston's really need to rethink the whole 2 for 1 thing and go back to some sensible pricing. EDIT: The Crown is no longer 2 for 1. Now it has much clearer prices and better value overall, though the menu has shrunk, no specials.

Large marstons pub.. I’m assuming it’s a managed house. A couple of ales on. Meal offers through the week. Good for groups and families. Nice Guinness 🍻

Couldn't find any confirmation our booking when we first got there,which led us to standing around for 10 minutes while they tried to figure out where to seat us. We booked for 1pm, still waiting for our food 50 minus later. Not worth the wait.Manager was rude and unprofessional.Dissapointing visit for my sister's birthday.

Rather crowded when we arrived and the staff seemed very busy.. Couldn't use the QR code to order because you have to order at the bar to use the discount code sent by email.. Seems to me so many staff but little attention to service or guests.. Never asked if everything was ok or if we needed any help at all.. In fact my daughter asked where the baby changing room was and the young man just said i don't know and walked off.. Still don't know if there is one available or not... Enjoyed the food.. but service and attention was seriously lacking unfortunately..

Food took ages to come out. When it did come out the chips were hot but all the meat on both plates was room temperature. Staff not very welcoming. Been going here for 18 years now and this was the only bad occasion.

Party of 18 and was very impressed with the service from the staff. Considering we were a large party they catered excellently for us all meals all came out piping hot and lovely. We really were made to feel welcome thank you guys.

real good food .staff good as gold cheap too thank you .food was told 35 min we ended up waiting over 1h 20 min but when it come it was real nice everyone enjoyed it and there was 13 of us

We arrived to find the pub very crowded and packed out. Our table was by the door and I said i did not want to sit there as it was too cold. We were offered another table which was acceptable. They said the meal would be 40 minutes but it actually arrived in 30 minutes. It was delicious and hot. The staff were friendly and efficient. I can't praise them too much. We had a great time. I would recommend eating here any time

Great food for a decent price. They do a great deal for kids over the school holidays too where it's only £1 for a kids meal when you buy a adult mean. The Ultimate Spicy was very nice, juts what I needed after a long drive home and me and the little one couldn't put up with anymore traffic for the day so we dropped in a really enjoyed it. Thank you.

My companions had roast beef whilst I chose a rump steak. This is a meal I don't often select, however it proved to be a real treat, tender and well cooked, with freshly cooked chips, mushrooms and tomato. Service was friendly and efficient and we all enjoyed our meals. I would definitely eat at the Crown again

The food was gorgeous and easy to order, the staff were friendly and accommodating. We got 30% off main meals thanks to a deal on the website. We used the park outside for a little while too.

Really friendly bar staff and servers, drinks were ordered through the app and were brought out quickly, food was ordered at the bar and again came out quite quickly. Food was nice and large portions (mine definitely defeated me... so much so I couldn't eat it all and had to come home for a nap). Everyone was very accommodating, I had asked for a spare plate to weigh out my children's food (both type 1 diabetic) and no one even raised an eye brow, gave me a funny look and didn't ask questions, just did as I requested. It's been difficult to take my two children out to eat since diagnosis because everyone stares at us when I pull out my scales (for food weighing) and I usually get alot of funny looks and whispers when I give my kids their insulin injections, I had non of this at the crown, truly made me feel comfortable and restored my faith in eating out with an incurable illness ♥️ will most definitely be visiting again!

We were greeted by a pleasant young gentleman , courteous and guided us to our seat. We really enjoyed our Ultimate Southern-Fried Chicken burger , it was yummy. We enjoyed our meal and overall experiences , thank you.

Our table of 8 we're made to feel welcome by the staff from start to finish they were really friendly and professional. Our food orders came out together and were all presented lovely, freshly cooked and delicious. There was a great atmosphere and buzz about the venue and we really enjoyed our night. We can't wait to come back and will definitely recommend it to all our friends.

Usually get a warm welcome here, meet friends for just drinks and a chat every 6 weeks. Last week, 2pm, went to sit at our normal table. It had a caddy in the middle with sauces, condiments and a menu (as it always does). A male employee came over and asked if we wanted food (no smile or any words of welcome). When we said 'just drinks, is that ok?', he just grunted and mumbled something about having to see if it was booked for later on. He pointedly leaned over and removed the caddy and menu and walked off. Quite off-putting really, if he wanted us to move, he could have asked and we would have done so. The young lady behind the bar was friendly when we ordered our drinks, though. Not sure if we will go back. If they were really busy and full, would have understood, but 2pm on a Tuesday, they certainly were not.

I would have liked there to be more of the desserts the children and I like in. Yet considering so late in the day and clearly so popular they sold out, speaks volumes in itself and shows the quality and wonderful service.

Good local pub with good food and nice staff. Varied menu, quality food, perfectly cooked. Bonus for EV drivers - 24/7 charging available at Aldi 200 yards away (Aldi system, works with ChargeMap).

Our table was booked for 13:45 and our friends were running late because they got lost. So I called the crown who said thank you for letting us know we will save your table. On arrival to the crown we were shown to the table but One of our guests said she wanted more room. Again this was no problem and offered us another table straight away. Myself and one of our guests use a stick as a walking aid. When the gentlemen behind the bar saw me walking towards the toilet, he went straight to the disabled toilet door and opened it for me. All of the pub and the toilets were spotless and clean. The pub area was very roomy and not cluttered at all.

Came in the early in the week for a couple scoops with me old man, what can I say what a way I was welcomed. Thoran was the kindest young boy who served me and me paps with a cold one. Thoran had a really good persona and was dressed really quite the part. Almost like he was trying to impress his colleagues🤣, great place will be back soon!

Foran has very friendly chat, and always has time to speak to customers. His stories of when he fought a shark in the Mediterranean are always a laugh. And the punts he pours always go down smoothly. Very good employee looking forward to more shark stories.

The atmosphere was really nice with friendly staff. The food was delicious but sadly the steak was over cooked and there weren’t any mushrooms either. Over all tho it was nice

Starters - Luke warm Soup - Just about hot enough Mac and Cheese - Boiling hot breaded mushrooms. Soup had to be returned for new warmer replacements causing others in our party to finish eating before others had received their replacement soup. This leads me to think that the Mac and cheese and the Soups were ready first and left to cool while mushrooms were finishing as the mushrooms were hotter than the surface of the sun. Mains - burgers no issues Anything with peas - peas were almost stone cold and rather al Dente so this was 3 out of 5 of our meals which had peas. Deserts - perfect as always with this chain of pubs/restaurants. In short your chef must try harder to keep food warm if dishes are ready before others for the same table.

Booked table for 7pm. Told half hour wait. Not served till 8.45pm. Nearly two hours is a disgrace. Food mediocre. Will not be back.

We were passing through on the way home. A Marstons Inn so we knew it would be decent. Turned out better than that. We didn't participate in the lunchtime bingo session. For a Wednesday lunchtime, it was quite busy.

Service was good, meal excellent. A rather noisy birthday party was going on but otherwise really enjoyed the visit and will definitely go again, especially if Inget another 30% off voucher🤷🏼‍♀️
