Fantastic service as always, big shout out to Eren who was very welcoming and really knew his stuff. Some excellent recommendations, great atmoshpere and brilliant menu. Never had a bad meal here, fantastic.

Always good there staff very good food bang on one of the nicest places we go to living on the canal.

This was our first time at The Cross Keys but it certainly will not be our last! Amazing restaurant, cracking atmosphere, wonderful and attentive staff but most importantly, amazing food! We had a mixture of starters (olives, bread, pork belly bites and the scotch egg) followed by a fillet steak and beef wellington before we finished the evening with a chocolate brownie and the biscoff cheesecake. Every item of food was a genuine 10 out 10 and I would happily order it all again however, the menu choice is so good we would love to go back to try some of the other options also. Highly recommend.

Still one of the best pubs in Milton Keynes. Serving a few beers from Brewpoint including a hazy IPA and the Stout. The garden is great in summer with a pop up bar and music playing.. great atmosphere.

We visited The Cross Keys in Woolstone for a Friday date night, and it was such a great experience! I had the sea bass fillets, and they were spot on—beautifully seasoned with crispy skin, served on gnocchi in a tomato sauce with a spicy kick and chorizo. The tomato sauce is worth mentioning again—absolutely delicious! My husband had the ribeye steak, which came with chips and a rocket salad. He added chimichurri sauce for £2.50, and it was totally worth it. If you’re a seafood fan, don’t miss the fish platter—it’s a must-try! The whitebait tempura was light and crispy, and the mussels in tomato sauce were heaven-sent. The portions are generous, and the service was amazing—our server really looked after us. There’s ample parking too, which is always a bonus. The stout husband wanted (Guinness) wasn’t available, but they offered another brand, which was just as good.

A cozy pub/restaurant. The food was very nice and well presented. 4 stars because my food was warm rather than nice and hot when delivered, but I think that possibly was because, although we ordered different dishes, we all got our order at the same time, which was nice actually!

I’ve had two fantastic experiences here over the past month. Over Christmas, I was served by Eren and Angela, who were both incredibly attentive and accommodating. The atmosphere was wonderful, and the food was absolutely wonderful, it made for a fantastic evening. I also recently had a birthday lunch for 15 people, and everything was managed brilliantly, pre ordering was easy. Drinks were kept topped up, food arrived promptly and was amazing, and the whole event felt relaxed, allowing me to truly enjoy the day. It was great! I highly recommend this pub to anyone looking for a hidden gem in Milton Keynes—a truly lovely place to visit. Thanks so much and will be visiting again soon!

Yes, very good. We stopped off for a pub lunch to break up a long journey. Good food, professional staff and a friendly environment. Warm fire burning on a cold day. Gluten free, vegan options on the menu which was a mixture of traditional pub food with quite a few other offerings as well.

Went here for Christmas lunch with my team, and it was fantastic! The service was excellent—we were seated and served right away without any waiting. I tried turkey for the first time, and it was absolutely amazing. Everything was well-organized, and the staff made sure we had a great experience. Highly recommend this place for a special occasion!

Fantastic food (Beef Wellington and Pork for the two of us). Excellent service and a lovely atmosphere. Not much choice of real ales but what there was (Adnams and Doom Bar) was well presented. Very good value for the quality on offer

Went today with 4 friends on our pre ordered festive menu, absolutely brilliant in all respects, service and food perfect. If you have a big appetite perfect for you, I felt so guilty sending good food back just because I couldn’t eat it all. My friends did better job than me. Never been there before but will definitely go again and recommend to friends

There is nothing as good as being totally surprised when booking somewhere that turns out to be much better than expected. We booked The Cross Keys primarily because of its location after a show at the Milton Keynes Theatre. Didn't have particularly high expectations but were blown away but the great food and service all at a reasonable price. Certainly will book there again when in the area.

Lovely place and staff. We only had starters, the fish cakes and the pate, and they were really good. Sadly no vegan milk so I did not try the coffee.

Service was 5 star and food was very good the place itself is very picturesque and the dinning area very comfortable altogether well worth a visit

Believe I just had the best Beef Wellington I have ever had and I have had and made my fair share. I really wish I had the time to enjoy more dishes and when I return to the area I fear I will only be able to reorder the same great dish. Overall a great pub in a very quiet area. Serve team are great and super friendly.

Our first time here. We were a group of 8 celebrating a birthday and had a very good evening. The food was delicious with generous portions. The staff were very helpful and attentive and kindly brought out the cake we had brought with us as a surprise. I can see why the Cross Keys has such a good reputation, it’s well deserved. Lovely venue but omg, the grumpy staff, bar or waiting couldn’t crack a smile. As a woman ordering at the bar , a scowling bloke is intimidating . If you don’t like working there , find another job, if you DO like working there , why not show it!! a friendly welcome garuntee return business you know

Really friendly village pub. Food is good and fresh cooked rather than prepped and re-heated. Would recommend the steak and kidney pie! If you want to eat in the restaurant as opposed to thebar area, I would booka table in advance. Lovely to sit outside in the summer

Been here 4 times and never disappoints, either in summer in the garden or the restaurant inside. A gem in MK! The baked Brie or Camembert are top quality and a lovely sharing plate. Had the beef wellington last night and it was delicious.

This was my second visit and I was very disappointed. I ordered fillet steak, to be cooked medium. Not only was it overcooked but it wasn't very tasty.

Definitely the roast I’ve had in Milton Keynes and even London. Food came within 10 mins, was hot, fresh and flavourful with attentive staff. Zoi in particular was amazing at recommending the best dessert dishes!! I’m definitely coming back again as I woke up craving it again today. They were really busy on Sundays so had to wait in the bar area but service was still speedy. A new firm fave of mine!

Lovely place HOWEVER food is not good! We were there as a group of 11 people- adults and kids, and two of us that had ordered the same pizza, vomited on the way back home that evening. Definitely got poisoned. My ‘chicken supreme’ was so blank and tasteless with old mash that just got heated up. The bartender that served us the food as we were sitting on the bar, got the cash and didn’t give the receipt. Such a shame- Not recommended

Went for lunch on a Saturday, restaurant was lovely, service was exceptional and the food was sublime. Very reasonable pricing considering the quality on offer. We will definitely be returning.

Definitely worth a visit if you are around Milton Keynes!!! I had dinner at Cross Keys with friends after finding it on google maps. The waiters are very attentive and the service was great. We ordered beef wellington, burrata, wagu pasta and duck liver pate. They were all amazing!!!

The half roast chicken was very tasty however could've done with more gravy as it was a little too dry. Good size portions and the Yorkshire pudding was nice and generous size portion too. Plenty of parking spaces and the service was quick at the time. The chocolate brownie dessert was very tasty along with the Rum and Raisin ice cream provided. Advise to book a table as it did get quite busy quickly when I went. Recommend.

Have eaten here several times and never disappointed. Food is delicious, extremely well presented and top quality. Great choice of dishes and a wide range, and feels much more expensive than it is. Great for vegetarian, vegan and gf. Service superb. Lovely decor. Would highly recommend.

Stopped off for a G&T halfway through our walk and thoroughly enjoyed it. We sat out in the garden where they also have an outside bar 🍸 whilst we did not eat there, we did check the menu out and will visiting them again for the food 😀

Sharing roast is best by a distance in Milton Keynes, the roast potatoes are unfortunately never crispy but all other components are tip top.

We arrived fairly late without a reservation, but they managed to squeeze us in just before the kitchen closed. Wonderful food, attentive service, couldn't recommend enough.

We came here on Monday for dinner, as we like it here and had friends visiting from outside MK. One of our party ordered a starter and asked for the main to come afterwards. We placed a few separate orders at the bar but within 10mins of each other. 4 of 5 mains and the starter arrived almost together. Around 20mins later a team member noticed a main was still missing and asked if we were still waiting for this. We said yes. Then nothing happened for another 20mins and we had to ask the server who had come to collect the other plates (which were now empty) to check where it was. The remaining meal finally arrived about 10mins after this. The server asked if we wanted to speak with a manager as we were disappointed. The manager was very dismissive, did not apologise, and his response was "it only took 10 minutes." He went on the explain that it is difficult for the kitchen to time all the food when people order separately. We understand that, but this was not the problem - the problem was that a main took over 45mins to arrive after the starter with 2 reminders. So this member of our party ate their meal on their own as all other plates had been cleared, but the worst thing was how rude the manager was to all of us. Not the experience we expect at the Cross Keys and I don't think we'll be back.

The food was absolutely phenomenal, we were blown away. Live a couple of hours away and we’re looking for somewhere in this area for a quick dinner, couldn’t have stumbled across a better place. The kids had sausages and mash and steak and chips, my husband and I were very impressed with the options and had the burrata, seafood sharer starters and then the beef wellington and pork belly. A lot of food, we ordered very hungry! But absolutely blown away by the exceptional flavour and quality. Atmosphere is great too as well as service. Could not recommend more, gutted we live 2 hours away!

It's a nice pub with a good atmosphere. The restaurant offers a good menu. There were three of us we started with the baked Brie, which was very good. It was on the venue as a sharing starter for 2. However, all three of us shared it, and it was adequate. Mains; sea-bass, which I was told, was delicious. Myself and another had the Suvlaki sharing platter it was for two to share, but it was huge, 6 skewers, bread, chips, salad, and two dips. The food was good, and the wine list was extensive with some interesting wines. This was the reason our bill was quite high. We had two bottles of Amarone, which was an indulgence for a special occasion. I will definitely visit The Cross Keys again

Booked Thursday lunchtime for myself and my work colleagues, and it did not disappoint. Even though lunchtime was bustling with a vibrant atmosphere, service was absolutely spot on . Polite and efficient without being overbearing. Food was absolutely spot on and represented excellent value for money all things considered . Will definitely return with friends and family.

The food and drink at this eloquent pub are first class, the staff are friendly and efficient, I would highly recommend this place to any person visiting Milton Keynes or looking for a excellent place to eat, I will be bringing my business back here for the foreseeable future, nothing much has changed it's still the same and that's the way I like it.

The food was great, but the service wasn't. Only half the required cutlery was delivered to the table, perhaps because some of us had burgers. However, the guy serving us was asked if he could bring over a fork for one of our group, he said, 'cutlery is on the bar mate' even though the other waitress had already brought some cutlery to the table. Then, at the end of the night, the light where we were sitting just got turned off. No polite mention of 'last orders' or 'we are closing in 10 mins guys' just darkness, and that was our thanks after spending around £500 between us. I won't be rushing back, which is a shame because it is a lovely pub, with a great outside area and an outside bar for convenience. It has so much going for it. It just needs better service.

I had a really good time, The food was high quality and portion size was very good. Would recommend the souvlaki board but make sure to bring friends who can eat a lot I tried it with my mother and it was a great meal and a food challenge for sure 😂.

Lived in MK for many years but somehow managed not to visit Cross Keys. Pleasantly surprised today with great beer garden and good food. Very nice atmosphere. Will be coming back

Transformed. Ok the menu is up market, however if you don't have the £90 steak option, fair value. The Ghost Ship ale was sublime, both 4.5 and 0.5 versions. Friendly, efficient and importantly, experienced staff. Do try to hang on to them in a competitive market, you know it makes sense.

Ate here for the first time on a Monday night for our wedding anniversary. Absolutely fantastic service, food and atmosphere! This just became our new favourite!! Already looking forward to our next visit!

Took my parents for lunch and it was superb as ever, the restaurant was quite noisy but the lovely manager moved us (my mum had a terrible headache) I could tell you how amazing the food was an go into fine details but all I need to say is my father couldn't find anything to complain about :-) Imo the best Sunday roast you can get in Milton Keynes.

I have been living in MK for 2 years, and this was the place to be 2 years ago. Now as the prices have risen, the quality, range and service have gone right down hill. Today, we arrived and ordered our food, we sat at our table, and a Hugh gush of smoke came from the kitchen, and made us smell so much we need to shower later. We were waiting a while(5 - 10 mins) when two girls turned up who seemed to be friendly with the manager, after around 15 min, they had there food served before us. Over 10 minutes later, our food arrived. I was told the knives and forks were at the bottle bar for which they were not there. I eventually got my food which was cold and the pie was rock hard. My wife had enough and decided to walk home. I was finishing my meal and was ask can I take the plates when clearly I had not finished. The girls were also getting table services for drinks when no one else was. I left, not to return in a hurry. I have been a regular here for two year and will look elsewhere

This was a pleasant stop on our way to tour the Red Bull facilities. We needed a hearty lunch and to kill some time between the train arrival and our tour. We had to take a taxi, but the ride was quick and worth it! Food was reasonably priced and hearty. I ate fish and chips because, why not. My husband had the chicken and both were tasty. They have traditional pub food as well as apps and other dishes. Highly recommend if you find yourself in need of a good meal.

Today was a fish and chip day, even though the rest of the menu was lovely, it just felt like a comfort food day. The portion of fish was a very good size and excellently cooked, served alongside chunky chips and a homemade tartar sauce and pea puree. Very nice when washed down with a reasonably priced Montepulciano. A regular go-to for us which never disappoints.

A fabulous pub tucked away . Had a table for 7 and we all loved our meal . The fish platter starter was huge and was enough for 4 people . The burgers were delicious. Everything was served very gir and all on time.
