Crofters, Rosemarkie, Scotland in Highland

Before walking to the Fairy Glen Falls, I visited Crofter's for some tea and cake. A good choice of cake, and really nice too, views out to sea, and a pleasant seating area outside. I sat inside, but as other recent reviews have suggested, service didn't feel particularly friendly, particularly from the staff member initially showing people to their seats. Hopefully this is something they can fix as, otherwise, it was ideal!

Service slow (not busy) & staff were off-hand, certainly not welcoming. Food was ok but costly for what it was. We never go for/look for cheap & quite happy to pay fair money for quality - but this was run of mill food at best - charging top dollar. Had fish (on greasy side) and lasagne - was a ‘special’ - quite tasteless - side salad good! All in all hugely disappointing - would not recommend & we won’t be returning.

Sorry..but the food is poor. My "scampi" were more like monkfish tails, ( no pink as with scampi when cut open )... the "batter"/crumb, over fried.. The chips were those big fat ones..powdery? Certainly not fresh potato chips. Drinks orders were confused by staff... We had driven over and hour and a half because of an article in a newspaper which had praised this restaurant. Much better experience is o be had at Findhorn, near Forres. No doubt lovely here for a wee cup of tea/beer/wine. ..because of the view of the Firth. Staff vey pleasant.....but it's not worth the drive. Less than average "pub grub". Mister Whippy was popular with the group...as is usual... Toilets pristine.

Absolutely disgusting service my partner went along this morning 11am and asked how we ordered food and was tod to come along before 18.30! which he did to be told *sorry we are so busy you can have scampi and a roll* eh no we want fish and chips! at the campsite and now hungry we will NEVER be at your establishment again disgusting service! we have Been been so disappointed ever your place is a joke!

Delicious breakfast rolls and pancakes for all at this lovely spot. Nice outdoor seating area and big indoor place too. Great staff and amazing views.

Restaurant was packed on a sunny day, we hadn’t booked as just decided after a beach afternoon to see if there was space for dinner. Staff were super accommodating and found us a table for 8 within 10min. Our food was great and came much sooner than we expected given how busy it was. Well done to all the staff- they were run off their feet but all very friendly and helpful.

Arrived just in time to still have brunch and was not disappointed. The eggs benedict was super delicious and well priced. The whole menu is enticing and caters for everyone. It was a beautiful day, so we sat outside. It's table service and the staff are friendly and attentive. Such a lovely, relaxed atmosphere with customers of all ages and pets to coo over. The beach is literally on the doorstep, so it's just an ideal setting to have a lovely meal and then a walk or a paddle. Highly recommend 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 ♥️

Sorry to leave a negative review because we've had some good food here in the past, the location is lovely and the staff are also really nice. However we just had calamari that were 75% batter. Really, really heavy ... and anyone can make a make mistake but there is no point in staff asking 'Was everything alright?' if they don't listen to or act on the customer's response.

Fabulous spot for some dinner. Very extensive menu and great for gluten free options. Highly recommend the gluten free macaroni! Huge portions and great tasting. Really lovely staff, very welcoming and helpful.

We visited here after hearing some good things and we weren't disappointed! It's a bistro style eatery overlooking the sea with fantastic views. The quality of the food was excellent, I had the Calamari and my wife had the Haddock, both were very fresh and filling with good quality portions. The service was great, they were very busy but very pleasant, especially with my 7 year old. We managed to sit outside as the sun was shining. Looking forward to returning!

AWFUL SERVICE, I came with my friend for a lunch catch up, there was a young man who was on shift that was particularly rude to us and was constantly on his phone, along with a female, they were very rude to us and they seemed although they didn’t want to be there (understandable as they are completely overpriced for what it serves and the quality), our food was freezing cold and the soup tasted like stale water, wouldn’t waste your money here

A favorite now after our second trip to the Black Isle. Varied selection, interesting specials, always well prepared and attentive service. Lovely spot to walk after dinner ! Reservations for dinner especially recommended.

This is a smallish cafe/ restaurant on the sea front at Rosemarkie but its size belies the quality of the food which was of a very high standard. There were good options for breakfast/light lunch/ coffee but also some more substantial main courses. We were in a large group and tried a wide range of the options available and all were very enthusiastically received. The cakes too, looked great and the one we tried, the chocolate brownie, was absolutely delicious. It was busy when we arrived but our large group was received cheerfully and the service throughout very efficient . A little gem which I would definitely recommend.

Fantastic place to stop after a walk along the beach. We visited on a Sunday morning and luckily the sun was out so we could sit outside with our dog. We had hot drinks and breakfast rolls and very much enjoyed the food. Service was excellent, staff friendly and very attentive. Will definitely visit again if back in the area.

Hidden Gem... Great fresh food, friendly service. We were staying Locally and used this bistro for breakfast once and afternoon snack once and Dinner twice! All consistently good meals / snacks. 5*

We enjoy a few lunches here while staying at the nearby campsite. Always phone to book a table. Great menu choice and board specials. Food always excellent. Not dog friendly except for sitting outside.

We stay in Rosemarkie two or three times a year in our Motorhome and have often had lunch at the crafters. Usually delicious especially the chips. On this occasion we dropped in on a Saturday evening around 5.30pm. We hadn’t booked and, clearly, this was a mistake. Offered one of two tables by a somewhat surly waiter and told these were not booked until 7pm. This was a bit off putting and made us feel pressured and unwelcome. It spoiled our dinner rather and we left after one course. My husband picked the wine on the board on special offer which was a Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon. It was awful. I think the lesson here is book for a Saturday evening. I’m a fan of this bistro but tonight I was disappointed.

Had heard great reports about their fish & chips so was very keen to try when in the area. Had to settle for a carry out as no dogs are allowed. Whilst waiting I noticed that the fish & chips being served looked fantastic with great looking fresh white chunks of haddock. However, disappointingly the carry out didn’t appear to be of the same standard. The fish looked totally different. Unsure if they serve the ‘less fresh’ fish for carry outs but it was very average.

Excellent service, lovely location, generous bacon and maple syrup. Popped in after searching for coffee close by Chanonry Point. Opening time of 10am worked perfectly. Coffee was strong and tasty (illy), maple syrup pancakes with crispy bacon was swimming in maple syrup, which was great as usually you have run out of syrup before finishing the pancakes, as one forgets how they soak it up. And generous with the bacon rashers, rather than the 2/3 one usually gets. Definitely recommend, and will definitely be back if I am back in the area.

Very busy Saturday we got at a window seat lovely table had chicken gushons with lemon pepper mayonnaise ordered a jumbo hotdog with bacon and cheese to take away after we finished it came plain no Bacon cheese or Chips and cold and split down the middle still recommend very friendly will be back next year just not for take away

We were here two years ago and past people enjoying their food, so decided to try it this year and so glad we did, best meal we've had in a long time. The staff were friendly and meals looked delicious and tasted as good as they looked.

Really enjoyed our experience here, with efficient and friendly service, plus equally good food and coffee. And not expensive either.

Location is great but the “ Artisan “ hot dog at £5.95 was poor value. Coffee was ok however the milk was over heated and consequently had a slightly bitter taste.
