I visited here a few weeks ago to meet 3 friends for drinks and a meal. The food was fine and the pub had a good atmosphere. However I was shocked 2 weeks later to receive a £60 parking fine for parking in the pub car park. It was dark when I went and I didn't look for or expect to see anything about paying for parking or registering my car. I didn't see any signage on the table, at the bar or a sign in the toilets. None of the bar or wait staff said anything about parking. This is not a city centre pub, so I don't understand the need for this. Disappointed.

I would recommend booking head but you can just walk in food always spot-on service always friendly.

First time visit and was very pleased. Friendly and helpful staff. Quick service and food nicely presented and very tasty. We will certainly visit again.

Took our mum over in her chair and the staff were very helpful with specific food that mum could have. Great service.

Whilst in the area we called here for a Sunday evening meal and were greeted by lovely friendly staff , we placed our orders i had the Tandori chicken on a skillet which was beautiful, my husband had Laying it on chick which was a really big burger and he was really impressed as well .This sizzling pub is really worth a visit with fantastic food at a really good price 😋

Ordered fish and chips for myself and my friend. Waited a long time for the food to arrive. Batter on the fish was undercooked, chips were too greasy, and the onion rings were practically burnt. On top of that, the drinks were flat.

Food came out within 15 minutes of ordering which was great as I had the kids with me.

Met up with my good friend and had a lovely long natter. It was during a weekday, so it was fairly quiet. Good, attentive service and the food was lovely, really good value. I had the Tandoori Chicken Sizzler, my friend had the Hunters Chicken. However....the table was really sticky! With a wet serviette I gave the table a rub...it was filthy! While I was there, I never saw anyone actually wipe any table. We sat at a different table for coffee and that was sticky as well! The cutlery and drinks glasses were clean enough, but the sticky tables were a let down.

Stopped at this pub for a quick pint only to receive a letter in the post 1 week later saying i was parked in there car park and had to pay £ 100 fine dont go to this pub its run by scum bags who are robbing the customers blind SHAME ON YOU AT THE CROFTERS

Ordering was easy. Food was served promptly. Food was delicious and hot. Staff were helpful and friendly. More selection of sauces eg mint, tartare, and mustards eg french and English on the tables.

Sizzling pubs? bad experience stanley arms , so moved to turnpike which was fully booked tonight,18 july, so booked crofters 18.00 table ordered accepted food order 18.30, served 19.40 my daughters order, sizzling hallumi with rice? Came on a normal plate, with chips, as we then found out! No hot plates! Or rice ! Which we were not informed?when she was leaving , having eaten her meal which was ordered the same time as us ,she asked were my order and my sons order where?poor girl serving could not apologise enough , who looked proper run off her feet , chased up!again some of the order missing, i understand its difficult when busy,but cannot keep on accepting apologies off nice people trying there best , when upper management are taking the micheal totally yet again unacceptable,these people should be customer facing and not leaving their helpful staff to face the complaints!!!!!!!!!!

Had lunch it was very busy waitress Faye was excellent check back plate cleated. Bar staff are so good too

pub is a bit rough and ready, but don't let that put you off. Both food and drinks are good very steady delivery of food items opted for the gyros and lasagne in the deal both meals very good

I ordered a double burger meal but when the meal came there was only one burger on the plate. When I enquired about the other burger I received not only the missing burger but a free order of onion rings to say sorry about the mistake. Brilliant thank you. 😁👍

Came in for a bite to eat with the hubby, food was delicious and the staff couldn’t do enough for us! A special shout out to Charley who was very attentive and Josh who went above and beyond! Lovely place and a very pleasant atmosphere! Couldn’t recommend enough xx

Brilliant server called Cathy, very friendly and helpful. The food was all fresh and hot. The steak was well cooked and peppercorn was lovely. My friends had the gyros, and they said they were perfect.

As Pubs go, this is a typical, nothing-terribly-special sort of Pub; a bit noisy but therefore lively, but it has an excellent Pub menu and the Fish in the fish and chips is quite simply the best that I have ever had in a Pub anywhere !

Stopped here for some tea, as I was passing. The staff were amazing, so welcoming and made me feel at home. I was served by charlie, we had a good chat, us being dog fans. The food was excellent, I had a steak, it was cooked to perfection, and the beer was boss too. Can't wait for the weather to warm up to call in a few cold ones.

The lady Wendy was so helpful and very happy to help she cane Iver to our table a few times to make sure everything was OK and she was helping other customers she really made my visit that extra special

Came for the first time today, Staff wasn't very pleasant at all, not a smile a hello or anything, they definitely need customer service training! Also the food was tasteless, it was so bland we had to put alot of salt on it and also sauces to give it abit of flavour, my daughter ordered the sausage, mash & gravy it came in a bowl and there wasn't very much of it, my other daughter ordered the steak and chips with onions and mushrooms, the onion tasted like it had been cooked in hot water, hardly any chips and again tasteless, I ordered the salmon and basmati rice with grilled vegetables I was very disappointed, the salmon was bland I had 2 brocolli stems and a few peppers I had plain rice no sauce or nothing was added to it to at least give it flavour I don't usually use salt but I used 3 packets to give it abit of flavour, the portion sizes were very small aswell, we're a slim family and I'd say the portions were the size for young children, we won't be returning.

Staff are lovely and meals good and competitively priced.

What can I say still in the pub and well happy with the food, service and live music too. I had Lasagne the veg from my sons ribs and jalapeños from my wifes chicken! all to die for, really happy we came here. Visiting Liverpool from Bristol, but I would deffo come back

I have previously avaoided this pub as it had gone downhill, attracting a rough crowd. Staff were rude and food awful. We gave it another go ecently as it is our local and had an enjoyable couple of hours here this evening. There has been a big improvement on the food and and customer service. There was a nice atmosphere and we enjoyed listening to the singer . Let's hope this pub can become a regular for locals like it should be.

I parked there and got a fine 3 weeks later saying I can’t park at the pub car park …? I hope other cars for this fine too no one bothered to explain that I needed to register my vehicle registration in the tablet when we went in no one bothered to even ask us if we came here using a car … absolutely shocking service I’m a new driver so how am I suppose to know that I had to register my car to park … which is the first time I’ve seen something like this in any pub all the pub parking is always free

Great customer care. Great atmosphere in The Crofters today on Mother’s Day! Chris’ customer care was excellent! As a staff member, Chris was was super friendly, welcoming and professional and was so enthusiastic about his role, which is lovely. Good vibes. I enjoyed a mum and daughter catch-up. Come in tonight and the new menu and new staff and service was impeccable and the new staff are lovely and staff are always great, Charley the manager always looks after our dog and thats why we love it here and best pub in huyton

I don't think you need to improve anything, I am a support worker and have visited many times with the people I support and we are always made welcome. Food is always lovely.

Lovely little place to visit, food was nice and I loved the sizzler side of the dish

The food was lovely but the man I asked to clean the table sprayed the spray everywhere, not on the cloth first but all over the condimemts leaving the table soaking. I took the couple of soaked forks out of the box and placed them on a different table. Then I went to ask for some cutlery and went to return to my seat only to be told to wait whilst the girl passed it to me to take it myself . Not very good customer service or pride in their job.

Came in for some dinner and drinks wid the family. The person serving our food was Charlie who was quite lovely and pleasant even though we were a big party coming in last minute. 10/10 for Charlie customer service skills. The food was lovely too so 10/10 for the chefs too.

Just been back here to see if it was as nice as our last visit and it was better.i got the mega mix grill my partner got the normal mix gril the food was really nice the staff were very polite and the place was very clean. I would really recomend the mega mix grill

4 of us came here for food and was told that they had already closed the kitchen, looked at the time, 19:05?? Prime time is between 7 and 8 for food so found this very confusing, as we were leaving, another party of 4 were turned away also, 8 covers turned away at 7pm at night is very very strange, a couple of months ago we were in here drinking, last orders at 9:45? With a full half pub of people drinking? Seems like staff and management want early darts in here now, this place has massively changed for the worse

Never had 8oz rump steak again so had the smaller one which was very small they forgot to put onion rings on plate so had to go back to the bar to tell them also it was freezing in therehad to keep my coat on

Visited 10/1/24 for some food and to watch the match, we were greeted by Charlie and Josh who were very welcoming and assisted to everything we needed, dietary requirement’s and asked if we had any allergies etc, super service and the food came efficiently and enjoyed, thanks Charlie & Josh 🫶🏻

Visited New Year's eve before going on to a party. Food was nice enough, just ordered nibbly bits. Service was great- quick and cheerful, friendly staff.

Dinner with family and friends. Charley and the team took great care of us especially having an allergy in are group . The food was top came out looking good and piping hot and was good value for money would definitely recommend

Came for the Christmas day 3 course meal for £51.99. Party of 8. As we arrived, we saw our table was located in the very corner - chairs squashed in, right by a flickering lamp. It was evident that the Crofters Arms were focused on profit rather than customer experience, because for one person to get out from the corner, everyone at the table had to stand up and move out. First course. I had a roasted tomato and red pepper soup. I have nothing to complain about regarding my starter; it had crusty bread, melted butter cubes and a small, but filling soup. Several of our party ordered the prawn cocktail starter, which was a warm plate, with dry bread, a few prawns and some tomato and cucumber slices. Already off to a bad start. Second course - the big roast dinner. I ordered the hand-carved turkey breast, which was nice, but everything else was to a poor standard. Raw carrots, raw broccoli, cremated pig in blanket (a singular sausage, by the way!), undercooked roasties and burnt parsnips. It was obvious that they batch cooked all their food, (as a waitress informed us) and put no effort into fixing these mistakes. As well as this, we were each supplied with a boat of lumpy gravy. Following this nightmare, we had our third course. Lovely presentation, but not a great taste. I had the We Three Treats dessert. The salted caramel profiteroles tasted like they came straight out the box - the Crofters Arms only focused on presentation, and not the actual taste, as this ending "Treat" just disheartened us even more. Nobody came over during our meal to ask if everything was okay. After informing multiple staff of our disappointment, we received no compensation. We were given an extra meal to take home, as someone in our party of 8 couldn't attend, but we still had to pay. Overall, extremely discouraging experience. We won't be coming for another Christmas meal deal at the Crofers Arms. Beware!

When to croferss for Xmas dinner a got one roast spud rock hard carrot we’re raw lumpy gravy one piece of turkey cost £52 99 disgusting told the manager just got fobbed off we also got put in a corner had to put are chairs side ways no room to move very bad experience

We love it here as we come with our dog Buddy. They are so helpful and friendly. They arranged a table especially for us to dine with our dog, lovely food as well.

I've always found it alright here to be honest, I've ate here a few times and only once was food delayed and I was compensated. Food has always been fine for us. Drink prices are OK and a good selection. All in all there are a lot worse places you could go.

(Hungover food always needed) How brilliant festive santa paws giving treats out.. and had to have a festive snowball colada well done to Charlie Alan and the gang!! Food was amazing me and my partner had gammon and egg on the two for 11 was not expecting the meal what we got was excellent quality gammon I like my eggs a bit runny she liked hers well done both were perfect our friend had steak she said it was cooked perfectly could not fault the meal at all

Could not fault this establishment. Clean,warm and welcoming ( as it always is ) but today, somehow, was above and beyond. I have never had better Jerk chicken skewers in my life and I’me old. Wife had sizzling grilled chicken and so loved it. The food was so good we both think we could have ordered it again , probably wouldn’t be able to eat it all though, so a definite “ compliments to the chef “ Thanks for an enjoyable cold outside day.

I hadn't been to this pub in over 15yrs as I had moved out the area. Decided to meet some friends on a Friday evening. The weather was grim ( raining badly) and car park was badly lit. The pub was chocka when I arrived. There was no clear notices in the pub to say you have to register your car registration. Two weeks later I have received a parking fine for £60 issued from when I was at the pub. The staff could ask customers when they are ordering food / drinks if they have registered the car details so customers wouldn't occur a fine or even have a notice on the tables to let people know. I probably won't return to this pub again

Poor quality everything food service cleanliness of pub first visit and definitely the last then to top it off received a parking fine as it was dark when we arrived and we where not informed by staff about putting number in no obvious place to do so this has got to be the biggest rip off ever Never even heard of a pub charging to park

During our current visit to the Crofters, we were served by the lovely Wendy, who was so friendly and helpful. She was also efficient with bringing the food and clearing our plates once we had finished. She went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and this was much appreciated. Would definitely recommend the crofters as the food and service is excellent! Thanks Wendy!

The food was lovely, but I was a little taken aback by an "upgrade" to mushy peas with fish and chips at £0.99 to get less food, equivalent to maybe 1/4 of the smallest supermarket can available.

We come every week and it’s always marvellous. Alan and his excellent team really look after us and always take time to talk to my Dad who is 94. Alan remembers his drink every week and suggests meals he may like, he really does go above and beyond the call of duty. Today we were looked after by Robyn and Monika. They’re always so friendly and give us the warmest welcome, nothing is too much trouble for them. I had a sirloin steak with sweet potato fries and peppercorn sauce and it was delicious, this is by far the best pub restaurant in the area.

Perfect visit as always! We love to come here, it’s our go to. The team are great and food is delicious! Wendy in particular is amazing! Every time we come here she remembers us and makes us feel so welcome and makes a fuss of my little boy. On this visit we came for my little boy’s 3rd birthday and he had a great time! I brought a group of adults with Learning Disabilities for a chill n chat social event, there were 13 of us altogether and our experience was fantastic from beginning to end. I booked with Robyn who was also working on the day, there was only one chef on and one of our group had a gluten allergy, they welcomed us all and nothing was too much for them, I can't praise them highly enough, thank you for making our experience a really good one, we will definitely be coming back again - the only downside is that we had all chosen our meals from the website but when we got there, the prices had gone up and the menu was slightly different

Lovely pub with a friendly atmosphere. Staff where exceptional and very thorough. Food was excellent and perfect temperature. Surroundings seemed to be nice and clean with staff walking around and clearing away empty dishes when finished with. As soon as people got up and where leaving, staff where at the table removing glasses and cleaning the area ready for the next customers. As you walk in from the car park you input your registration number of your vehicle so the parking company know you were a customer at the pub. All in all a lovely experience had by myself, husband and 2 adult children.

I love this place, either for a few drinks with friends or a family meal. Manager, bar staff and restaurant staff are all very polite, friendly (some hilarious!) but very professional. Lovely place to come and unwind. Food is always of super quality and the choice of drinks is vast. See you soon!
