Refused food: Informs on their website that on Saturday the farm shop/cafe is open until 5pm. Arrived at 3.45pm, I was informed that the kitchen had closed at 3.30pm but can order cakes/drinks, then the cafe shuts at 4pm. When being served by the young Manager, I asked why there was a discrepancy with the closing times. He came across flustered with lack of clarity. Staff were already cleaning around the tables and floor, making the environment awkward and rushed, despite customers still present. Miss-informed timings and poor experience for such an overrated establishment.

My wife and I visited yesterday afternoon and enjoyed a lovely meal in a very pleasant relaxing atmosphere. The staff were friendly, the restaurant and toilets were immaculately clean and the food was excellent. We brought home some delicious cakes from the farm shop for a family treat. Top mark's! And to know that the profits are going to such a good cause is a bonus. May God bless you all and continue to provide all that you need.

Cragg Farm is staffed by the best sort of people you could wish to meet. It is a charity and the plants, compost, food & service are first rate. Stay a while and enjoy the ambience. I have visited several times and everyone has been really friendly; no one is in a hurry - it's a stress-free place. The dining areas are light and airy, filled with the gentle hubbub of contented diners. Book your breakfast, brunch, lunch, or afternoon tea, arrive and relax. Alternatively, have tea, coffee, sandwiches, or ice cream from the take away bar and eat it outside at the picnic tables on a sunny day. Overcast or too cool for you? Enjoy your snacks at the tables in the garden centre greenhouse amongst the greenery. What's not to like? I love it and hope that you do, too.

You need to book for weekend and holidays. Excellent all round service which is popular to all, elderly, young families and older families, singles and couples. Great little artisan food shop and gift shop. Ice cream and snacks and takeaway coffees in next building. Pleasent landscaped walks in the grounds abd a great green house with very well cared for plants and products. Plenty of parking and accessible for disabled. We'll worth a visit.

When we arrived today there was no queue and no one at the reception desk. Eventually a member of staff in a striped jumper arrived but completely ignored us, did not in any way acknowledge our presence. We continued to wait. The same person left but some minutes later returned to answer a phone call and again completely ignored us. A young man waiting tables passed and said he'd be with us soon and he was. Once seated and while we waited to be served I noticed the same woman completely ignore other customers as they arrived and waited. It was so disappointing because all the other staff are so welcoming and friendly. It is unfortunate that she is at reception creating such a poor first impression of an otherwise lovely place.

We come here frequently - it is consistently fantastic. My little kids and my older mother, as well as the hubby and I, all love each experience. The food is great quality as well as good value portion wise. It’s a bonus re the charity link. If they know you are coming with kids (so mention in the booking) they have the table laid out accordingly so the kids have something to do immediately - as a parent that’s brilliant as you can relax straight away. There’s a fabulous little garden round the back with a large pond and walk down to further ponds/lakes. If you have little ones (ours are both under 4) the small first gardens and playground are brilliant. The takeaway offering is great - if they don’t have space in the restaurant I strongly recommend grabbing a take out coffee and walking round the garden anyway. There are plenty of seats and small wooden shelters available. It is easy access for a pram as there are ramps where required. The front of house team are always very helpful and friendly and can help accommodate prams etc. We also hosted a baby shower here - one guest has mobility issues but found this very easy to access. You can drive down the drive to the disabled spaces immediately outside the cafe area if you struggle to walk from the car park. We love it here. Love love love.

Went here for lunch with friends on a Monday and enjoyed a good meal in pleasant surroundings. The buildings are some distance from the road, but the route is in better condition than the public road. There is also a gift shop here and an extensive garden centre. The car park was large, though fairly rough. There was plenty of seating inside the restaurant, but it was pretty full nonetheless - mostly older adults. Not a vast choice on the menu, but good food.

Split into two here really hence the 4 stars, 5 stars for the food, its amazing the breakfast there is just fantastic. It inspired me to start making proper scrambled eggs (nice and creamy) and the service is also great in the restaurant. The shop is a bit limited given the space which is understanable, there also only ever seems to be one person serving the till and the deli counter which can take some time. There's also a garden shop section, which has plenty of choice, however the plants need a bit of TLC as a lot of them are covered in spiderwebs, which I don't mind, but would put off any arachnophobes.

Let down by front of house. After going to the plant sale we had a bite to eat in the always busy restaurant. The bearded guy with glasses on front of house did not look up from his screen to acknowledge us and left us waiting for an awkward length of time. All it would take is a 'I'll just be a minute' or 'Please bear with me'. He had a very miserable and superior demeanour which continued throughout our stay (we were sat next to him). I commented 'Service with smile'. He did the same with everyone else. They arrived smiling and I could see their smile gradually fade as he looked at his screen and didn't make eye contact. The food was OK, large portion for sandwich and chips, but nothing extraordinary. It's a shame to mark down the service as the waiters were the opposite, smiling, attentive, warm. We changed our mind and decided not to buy from the shop after the experience we had. Change front of house and get someone who does customer service.
