I drove 40 minutes to the Aboyne pop up today, spent £25 on coffee and pastries to be refused to use the toilet as it was for 'staff only' despite being 8 months pregnant and clearly distressed. Shame on you!

There were not many different options of savoury food so it is maybe not a good choice for those who are pickier eaters, however all of the food that we did get was really good.

Courie Courie is a great place to get home baked bread. Speciality’s are the soda bread roll which can be filled with delicious Brie and Chutney. The coffee cake is excellent and the Americano coffee is really good. The couple who run this little bakery are very friendly and helpful. Mainly take out but they have a few indoor tables and garden seating when the weather is fine (or if you are hardy.

Very friendly welcome from the staff, great breakfast menu in warm surroundings on a cold October morning. Highly recommended.

We were there during the Haal festival and the restaurant was very efficiently run and the food was great.

The chippy is just up the road from us but we probably only pop in to get chips once a month to go with a meal we are making. The chips are always good these days, as is the service and the staff are really helpful. On more than one occasion I’ve seen them going above and beyond to help out a member of the public. Also really pleased to see the phasing-out of polystyrene trays and plastic bags in favour of paper and cardboard over the last few years. Fish could always be bigger but you could say that about any chippy these days and the last few fish I’ve had have been really good. Highly recommended.
